I wish I could give this store negative stars. I went there today (2/28/2021) to buy a computer. Upon entering the store a sales rep asked if I am in need of a sales "pro" to help me out. I said yes for the computer dept. . He turned to the guy standing next to him and asked if he was available. A reply was given as " I'll need a second". I told my guy that the rep could meet me in the dept and I would be looking at what they had until he arrived. 1 hour later, And watching the sales man talking and talking to his associate, I still had no help. I left the store to look at another place to see what they had. I did return to best buy to buy the computer I was originally looking at. Again, I was sent a text that the next avail associate was ready for me. I stood at the designated area, watched the same two gossiping associates and walked up to them. They looked at me as if I were bothering them. I took The younger one over to what I wanted to purchase, he scanned the bar code and said "we don't have any in stock". I asked if he could order it and he looked at the ticket and said "no". As he blatantly walked away, I called out to him and asked him about another one I had been looking at. ( oh yeah, more $$ as well) He just shouted from behind the counter, "we're out of that one too". I stood there waiting to see if he was going to come over and ask if I was maybe interested in another, but noooo, he was back to bul$$&$ing with his buddies. He glanced over at me and I was mouthing are you coming back and he looked away. I left the store vowing never to return. So to make this a little shorter, he lost out on a $2,000.00 sale, because at the point of having nothing in stock, I would have purchased the Apple computer. I did purchase one from Amazon where my $$ is appreciated. Both those jerks should get the "LAZY" award. read more

Huge store. Good selection. Giving it a 2 for customer service. Turned in a tablet to geek squad to fix a cracked screen. Paid around $65. They shipped it somewhere else to Thier facility. 2 weeks later they ship it back to the store to tell me they can't fix that particular tablet model. Loss of $ and time for me. Peter who works in the TV / Home Theater department is extremely knowledgeable and effectively answered all of my questions. I visit this store only a few times a year but every time I go the staff is attentive and eager to help me. Store associates such as Peter are a perfect example of the way retail business should be conducted. read more

This Bestbuy has the worst geek squad ever Including the Manager i just needed for them to download my memory card onto a flash drive seems simple enough but i was told that they dont do that then i called corporate and was told of course they do that. so i asked for the manager and told her what corporate said she then said oh sorry we can do that but it might take a few days because theres a waiting list i told her what this place is empty and she said theres only one special computer in the back and that id have to leave my memory card with them as if i would trust them with my memory card after all this nonsense i will never go to best buy again complete lack of common courtesy and respect for the customer why they acted like that completely boggles my mind watching a bunch of workers laughing and srewing around when there getting paid to work Turns my stomack hopefully once i call corporate again this place will grow some work ethic !!! read more

Very bad experience with installation team. Bought a dishwasher and had them install it. On installation they managed to break the shut off valve and couldn't complete the installation until it was fixed by a plumber. The plumber hooked up the discharge tube and the dishwasher did not work. Best Buy said it was the machine. Lg checked the machine and it was fine. Suggested the discharge tube was twisted and told me to call Best Buy. Best Buy service did not want to come out a second time. When they did they refused to pull the dishwasher to check it for kinks and told me it was the garbage disposal that caused the problem Had the garbage disposal changed and the dishwasher still did not work. Called lg back and their service pro pulled the machine to find the discharge tube with many twists and folds. He straightened it and reinstalled the machine. It was difficult for the screws were put in at an angle and hard to remove and reinstall. The machine has been working fine ever since. An $800 dishwasher ended up costing over $2000. Best Buy service had the nerve to tell me they install 50 of these a month and are experts. Will never buy from them again read more

Went to buy a new tv after mine was broken and was told by associate I had a protection plan and made an appointment with Geek squad. Drove home got the tv came back and was told that the plan only covers manufacturing defects? So what's the point? Tried to leave and they told me it would be $25 to recycle the tv. Never will I spend another penny here. Terrible customer service. After buying 3 TVs!!! read more

Service is hit or miss. Considering Amazon is eating their lunch, you would think this place would step up their game. I grow weary of being offered a protection plan with everything, even batteries. It is also pretty sad when I am more tech savvy than the people who work here. read more

I'm pretty impressed by how bad the customer service is here. We walked to no greeting and had to get someone's attention to ask about a return. One person was being helped at the customer service counter with multiple people behind it. We were ignored. The customer walked away and the woman behind the counter half heartedly said she would be with us in a minute. I'm assuming she called for help and no one responded. In this time multiple employees were just standing around talking. The men in yellow at the front door were clapping and making a scene whenever an employee returned from lunch or left for lunch, but did not seem to acknowledge customers at all. Then the employee hardly spoke at all while returning our item and seemed bothered by the whole transaction, which took all of maybe two minutes. Then we purchased two items at the checkout. Only one lane was open and again employees were standing around, some looking very confused. The cheering for employees entering the store continued, customers continued to be ignored. The transaction before us took a long time, another employee could have helped us but did not. I mean it felt like they were trying to supply bad customer service. Very disappointing from such a large well known company. Don't waist your time here. read more

Best Buy Middletown, NY had a great experience buying a new Smart phone!! Corey and Marissa that work there for Verizon, were great!!

I just received the absolute worst customer service from Middletown Best Buy. After calling and being put on hold 4 separate times, I was able to ask a simple question, "Have there been any Geek Squad appointment cancellations for the next 2 weeks?' After 30 minutes she finally said ok let me go ask him, and I waited for 15 min for her to come back. At 45 minutes she came back on the line and said nope no cancellations today. I said ok how about the next 2 weeks which I what I asked you in the first place? Now she has to go get him again. At this point I said it's been 45 minutes, I have to leave for work soon, will this take long? She said no he'll be right here. At 50 minutes my call was transferred somewhere else, they picked up and said please hold, didn't give me a chance to speak, and put me on hold again. At 1 HOUR on hold I had to give up and leave for work. This is not the first time I've had an awful experience here, but I've come back because of the convenience of the location. Well, it's definitely going to be my last time dealing with them. If I spend $250 on something, I expect them to be able to answer a simple question about it in a timely manner. I caught them price fixing just before Black Friday last year. I was interested to buy a chest freezer for my basement. So I intentionally came there to see the prices of those freezers. They had only one that I was interested in. It was a 5.2 cu feet chest freezer by Igloo. I took the picture of the price with my cell phone. It was $149. Then I came back a day before black friday to see if it was on sale already. To my surprise...they actually raised the price on it. It was $165. So I figured them out ! They raised the price to $165 so they could lower it on black friday back to the original price of $149 and to show you that it was on sale. What a scam artists ! I called the manager of the store right away and showed him the price of that freezer on the picture on my smart phone. He didn't know what to say and was giving me stupid excuses that the prices change all the time everywhere. So I just gave them few dirty words and left. I ended up buying the exact same freezer at Best Buy in the Palisades Mall in West Nyack the same day for $139 plus tax. I know stores do these things before holidays sales all the time and I wanted to catch them and show it to them in their face! And I did. So you need to be careful next time and always observe the item you want to buy and its price few weeks before you buy it. read more

I've been trying to get in touch with the auto tech department for 4 days now with no response. I asked a question through one of the sales reps and he replied with "yeah, I don't really know anything about that, you can contact one the the auto techs." Yet every time I call, it rings without an answer. Highly annoying. read more

No one around to help me! Three people were informed that I was waiting to purchase a washer. I finally took the item tag/card to a register to pay for the washer I chose. The salesman told me to go back to the washer area and wait for someone. Unbelievable. When I did get to speak to someone they tried to talk me into a different washer. They then told me I should come back tomorrow, the sale prices could be different, maybe better, maybe not. If I came back tomorrow someone would sit down abd help me look online at more possible options, because the store was closing in less then an hour. Hum?? Bye bye Best buy. Worst store ever. Rescheduled multiple times for installation of Washer/Dryer. Poor customer service. Poor compensation. Overall poor.

Horrible service. It takes at least a half hour sometimes to get a hold of an employee. Once you start talking to them. They have no clue about the products they are selling or even if they have the product at all. Don't bother trying to call them. They don't pick up. I've tried calling on about 4 different dates and never received any answer on the other end. Horrible excuse for a best buy read more
