I went into Ocala's Best Buy yesterday because I needed a new phone case. I knew exactly what I was looking for otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered walking in there. Best Buy serves a momentary purpose, they have certain items that all the other stores similar have and to me in these cases it's who has the best deal because whenever I've tried to seek out help with laptops or computers I never have received great service whether it be trying to gain their assistance or knowledgeable people in their area. I never really bother with the sales staff on most things when going to a Best Buy as I usually know what I want and do a bit of research on their website beforehand. In this case I needed a new cell phone charger cable as mine was frayed and their own generic brand for Androids work just fine, and at a much cheaper price point compared to T-Mobile or Verizon's store price. This place is kind of awkward. Sometimes they have really good deals and other times not so much. They have this thing lately. When you walk in if you want to talk to a human being you basically have to get a number. And then whenever they find someone to help you they do. They have a good selection of Apple products and it seems a good selection of PCs. I do not use PCs so I can't tell the difference. I think this is a go to place if you wanna order a new cell phone and get on a contract. They also have a lot of cases and some other random stuff that you might need. They do have a good selection of TVs and it's nice to be able to try them out in advance. They also have sound bars and that sort of stuff. I hear that some Best Buy's have a place where they will install things into your car I have not tried that yet but that's next on my list. read more

This review is specifically for Jacob N. The IHA SR Consultant Sales. I am not sure if I can put his whole name on here so I am sure there is only one Jacob N with that title. We went back into this store the following day to get my mom a TV for her bedroom and a TV stand for the TV we bought yesterday. I explained to Jacob that my mom is just moving into town and we are out buying all the things she needs. Jacob went above and beyond to help us. He looked at the order we did yesterday and the salesman from yesterday did not suggest anything at all. Jacob helped us delete the order I did yesterday and put everything on one order, along with a "Buy Best Total Tech" package. He knew every wire, cable, extension cord etc we were going to need. Even the package to hide the wires on the wall. He went through and made sure it was all delivered complete with what the tech team would need to put everything together and set my mom up. The Tech team came yesterday and they were super nice and even logged into all the apps I share with my mom for streaming TV and explained how to use it. This man was literally a saving grace for my mom and the store. Without him I was going to have to run around and find a handyman or something because we literally just arrived 2 days before going to this store and knew nothing. read more

This review is for The Geek Squad in the Ocala store . My computer froze while trying to update . I took it in yesterday evening and they were able to fix it and restore my computer in one day . Hunter was the agent who assisted me and Travis was the agent who did the repair . I was very pleased with their professionalism and compassion for an old lady who was freaking out . I also want to put in a word for the Best Buy protection plans . We have the total package plan and didn't have to pay anything for this repair , which would have cost $250 . Living in Ocala and trying to find electronics is difficult as we don't have many options. When you want a new TV, etc., and you don't want to purchase online, the only options are Best Buy or Sam's Club. My in store experience over the years has been good with Best Buy, the reason for my one star review is their lack of support for active duty military or veterans of the United States military. Since December 2023, I have purchased over $4,500 dollars worth of merchandise from Brandsmart between Ocala, Gainesville and one of their Tampa stores. Two days ago I went in there to purchase another Samsung Q series soundbar after the one I purchased in December took a crap. While waiting on the service for it (as its is still under warranty) I decided to purchase a newer model and if the non-working one is repairable I can put it with one of my other TV's. I purchased at Q850, I(The 800 is the one that broke). I have repeatedly asked their managers if they offer a military discount and have always been told no. However, online it states that its up to each store's discretion if you speak to a manager. I asked to and spoke to a manager and the answer as always is "no". Its disgusting that stores like this, like everyone, are quick to say "Thank you for your service", but showing their real appreciation by giving a small discount to those of us who served is not even considered or done. If you really mean what you say about your appreciation for our service and sacrifice so you can be free to have a business and make money off of our defending of our freedom and rights, actions speak louder than words. I purchased the unit there ONLY because Brandsmart (which had the same unit for significantly less btw and they wouldn't honor a price match cuz of some other rule they use to not match), would have to ship it to me and I wanted the unit that day. So far I am not impressed with the unit at all, and am thinking about returning it. But moving forward I will not purchase anything else from Best Buy until they recognize the active duty soldiers and those of us who served and made it back home alive! read more

Absolutely the worst manager I've ever dealt with, this man has ZERO customer service abilities and has no business being a manager. Attempted to contact Lady Lake on 2/20/24 to resolve an issue regarding a rescheduled install, by Lady Lake, of a vehicle dash camera, which had already been paid for with the Best Buy card and then paid off with my personal account. I was transferred instead to a customer service agent, at the Ocala store, who would not accommodate me by contacting Geek Squad at Lady Lake to verify they still had the dash camera in their possession before I was made to repurchase the item. I was informed I would get a credit on the Best Buy Card and not refunded the amount to my personal account. My concern was if I ordered the camera again and they could not find the camera, due to Geek Squad still having it in their cage, it would be reordered from their warehouse and I would have to reschedule to install a second time. I did not want to drive 18 miles to get the install done in two days to find out they don't have the item, because it was reordered. The customer service agent called me "Bud" and laughed when I tried to explain my concern and when I asked to speak to a manager, said a manager was not available and terminated the phone call, because of my attitude. They just lost a sale, because as the customer, I should not have to do their job for them when it was their shortage of employees to install the camera during the initial appointment and lack of dilligence that caused the order to be canceled and refunded. I don't understand how people expect to get paid more money to do their job, but can't accommodate a customer's request, which would have taken a minute or two, or reshedule an installation and ensure the order did not get cancelled. I just spent a wasted hour on the phone trying to get a simple service arranged. I had used Geek Squad to reinstall my stereo equipment after my last three moves and tried to use them a fourth time for the same service. It was a total disaster! The person in the Geek Squad department I talked with on the phone could not understand this simple request even though I spoke slowly and descriptively each time. She kept asking me if I bought my speakers at BestBuy which had nothing to do with the job. Another call to the store got me someone else who was a bit better but still had not idea on how to handle this simple request. I finally gave up and decided to give my business to another company. I have only had good experiences with best buy. This location in particular is clean and the staff are quick and friendly. Tonight I tried to return an open box product. When they scanned it it brought up an old order and I had to explain I didn't buy it 1 year ago and they listened. Then they noticed the serial number on the box and the product didn't match and they listened when I said it wasn't me who did that. They believed me even when all the evidence said I was a liar. They scanned my order barcode so they could bring up my bb cc and I was refunded. I have always appreciate bestbuy and do so even more now. Thanks bestbuy. read more

Before moving to the Ocala area, we enjoyed shopping at Best Buy, even visiting just to browse around to see if there was something new we might want. Not so at the Ocala Best Buy. Shopping there has been the worst experience we've had in our many years (65) of marriage and we'll regrettably not be returning to Best Buy in Ocala ... ever. It is long story that started with the item on display not being in stock. That required an order and subsequent actions too uncomfortable to repeat here. Too, an additional 40 mile round trip was necessary to resolve some of the issues which created more bureaucratic disconnects due to lack of knowledge and/or disagreements between employees. Bottom line is that this Best Buy failed to live up to the documented agreement used during our first visit to motivate a substantial purchase. As a result, costs increased creating an uncomfortable environment for us and for others around us. The one exception to all the confusion was the young sales lady that initially helped us during our first visit. We'll not be returning but, should anyone decide to give Best Buy Ocala a try a new phone, look for Shelby. read more

Cracked my iPhone screen today so I scheduled a same day screen replacement via the apple support app for 6:20pm. Unfortunately this store was the closest location to me that could perform the repair same day. Made the drive up from Orlando (80 miles) and got there around 6:05 pm. Upon arriving the employee told me there was "no way they would be able to get to the repair today." For obvious reason I was incredibly frustrated and when I inquired why, the best explanation I could get from the employee and the store manager was, "if something went wrong they wouldn't have enough time". They then proceeded to explain to me that apple shouldn't allow customers to schedule appointments that time. Sure I'll buy that, but the simple fact is, via the apple support app, I scheduled a same day service with your store (which is contracted by apple) to provide a service is the allotted time advertised. Whether you drive 1 mile or 80 the principle is pretty straight forward. My question to Best Buy is, if you see someone schedule a repair, and you know what the repair is for, (considering it literally populates on a big screen behind the counter) why not contact the customer and explain that they will not be able to offer that service in the allotted time, and save EVERYONE time and headache. My horrible bad luck. Lived in our home for like 16 years with a wall unit. It would only hold a 60-inch TV. They no longer make 60-inch TVs, now TVs are 55 or 65 inches. I decide to buy a Samsung TV from Best Buy. I thought the 85 inch was great. I got rid of wall units after 16 years. After a long day at work, there's nothing better than catching up on some TV. With the US Open and NFL starting this weekend, I was excited to finally have my new TV installed. Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived as I discovered that the TV hadn't been delivered or installed. When I called the 1800 number for information, they were unable to help and transferred me to the store. They said I was not allowed to speak to someone at my local Best Buy. All their calls are answered overseas. They transferred me 8 or 10 times to different people. They all said they did not know why the order was canceled. I was on the phone for over 2 hours. I had to leave work and drive to the store since there is no way to call the store. I was informed that my order had been cancelled by the computer for no apparent reason. Luckily, the staff was friendly and they were able to send someone out to install the TV on the same day. While there, my wife was sold my wife a $1,700 sound bar, which we decided to purchase and have installed a few days later. Unfortunately, during the installation of sound bar they dropped the TV and broken. They did not offer to bring temporary tv or one of their open box tvs. I asked if they could find another tv like mine at stores close by, they said no, we can order another one and wait. They didn't even try. They dropped my new tv and could careless! Despite our inconvenience and major disappointment in missing NFL and US Open and wait for 16 years to have a large tv. I was in search of a wager and dryer. I had the pleasure of working with Vegas. I had gone to Lowe's and placed an order for a set to be delivered. It was my second choice because they were out of stock of my #1 choice. I was a bit bummed. I looked online and Best Buy had them in stock. I told my husband that I was driving to Best Buy to place the order and if they were available, I would cancel the others order. They had them in stock and I was SO HAPPY! We completed the transaction. As Vegas was filling everything out, I decided to walk around and look at the other washer and dryers. Vegas ran the transaction, I paid and left the store. While driving home, I called my husband because there was another washer/dryer that I REALLY liked. Of course they were a lot more. My husband gave me the green light to spend more and get the ones I REALLY like! I have the BEST husband!! I turned around and went back. I explained what I wanted to do and he handled it so smoothly and with a BIG smile!! I could not have had a better salesman! He was wonderful to work with. As we recently moved from California and sold everything, we are closing on out new home next week. We went to the appliance department where we were greeted by Renee he was awesome bless his heart he was trying to help several people why multiple employees were walking around doing nothing. I had found the exact washing machine I wanted at a local competitor and had asked for a price match Renee had tried to get a manager over several times and finally pointed out a man to me that was standing talking on his cell phone in a different aisle as he walked by I called him over at Renee's request because he wouldn't come over for his own employee. I was amazed when JUAN THE GENRAL MANAGER Walked by me and held his finger up and told me to wait he went to the warehouse but stopped and was joking around with one of his employees he then came back and I had asked him for a price match I told him the company that we don't do that it's not a national company not only is it a national company if a local company within a Ocala! At that point he got very rude and aggressive and said that he couldn't do it he's only employee pointed out that their headquarters are in Washington and that makes them national not only local. He proceeded to go to the computer to do it as I thought while I spoke to my fiancé because we still need to go to other departments to buy stuff we had stopped in appliances first because it typically takes longer. I made a purchase online for pick up 1/24, they didn't have this available until first week in Feb. & was picked up on 2/2. When we realized we didn't need it, having never been opened I searched online to find out what to do to return this totally unopened item. It said "RETURNS ARE SIMPLE IN STORE, RETURN PRODUCT BY 2/24". When I got to the store they told me it wasn't eligible for return after 14 days of purchase. They did me a "favor" giving me a gift card for the amount of the item even though I kept telling them I didn't want the gift card & just wanted the money back to my Best Buy credit card. Being disabled but driving to the store to make sure this was returned in compliance with what I was told, barely able to hold myself together after all this horrendous pain I took the gift card & hoped it could be settled properly later. Unfortunately I've come to find out online they would have been able to help better if I never returned it or had it shipped back. I'm never giving Best Buy my business again & it seems that the entire company is like this & worse. Policies are horrible & they are losing business on all ends because of "policies" & customer service. Let me be clear, it isn't necessarily the customer service at the store that has upset me it IS Best Buy in general. The rep at the store was kind enough to get me a chair & I HAD to leave with whatever they were giving me since I was there way too long. My wife purchased a Frame through Best Buy online. The Frame arrived, and didn't work. It froze. As she was to return the Frame to Best Buy for a refund, the clerk cited a Best Buy policy that came up on the cash register. NO RETURNS BECAUSE THE PACKAGE WAS OPENED.
