If I could give this zero stars then I would. Had to drop off my husbands iPhone to be repaired per Apple. Will NEVER do it again. Worst communication and customer service of my life. After spending 8 hours on the phone with Geek Squad and Apple this week because we had no communication on the phones status and it was gonna for well over the 3 days that Dalton told us it would be, we had to threaten calling the police and filing a report for a stolen phone before we got a tracking number that it was sent to California. They offered no loaner and no details. We were going to buy a burner phone when we found out the phone was magically back in Peoria and ready. We'll insist Verizon send us a new phone before ever doing that again. The Geek Squad was rude, condescending and refused to give us any update. Pooy played Best Buy. You lost a customer for life! Buyer beware The customer service at Best Buy is less than mediocre. I bought a $700 expresso maker (Breville) from Best buy and after 2 years and 9 days it stopped working. I spent a very very long time on the phone with Geek Squad to be told they don't service the expresso maker but yet sell a extended warranty for it which I bought. The store was real quick to sell a warranty as always for something they don't fix and also don't stand behind the product! I went into the store and after talking with the floor manager who then went and talked to the store manager I was told nothing can be done. The store manager was to much of a coward to tell me to my face and sent a floor manager. I simply wanted some help with the not so old and very expensive expresso maker. Geek Squad is a joke and a total scam! After being a long time customer with thousands and thousands of dollars worth of purchases I will never be back and don't recommend purchasing anything from this company!!!!! This company sells products they can't fix but are happy to sell a warranty for. After a warranty extension was denied, a good will request was denied and zero attempt to make the situation fair was provided. read more

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 7506 2n1 in March of 2021 and a couple of months later had to purchase the total tech support because I was already having issues with this supposedly brand new laptop that I purchased from Best Buy. It seems every other month I have to take this laptop in because of an issue it freezes I've already had to replace the hard drive and now the panel is the issue and even though they see this less than 2-year-old laptop keeps coming in for one thing or another when I call to complain the first thing they want to say is well you did not purchase the warranty I did not purchase a warranty because I did not realize the item was a piece of crap. Trust me I relied on Best Buy selling good products had I known that was not the case the same way I spent that extra hundred dollars on getting the Total Tech support I would have purchased the warranty. Pros: The staff was actually very nice. They took the time to walk around with me and test out some of the tech. They also took the time to find someone else when they didn't have the answer to a question they didn't have an answer for. However, I've head a lot of headaches with this store. Cons: I received incorrect information about an extremely expensive product. I like to verify what I am told by doing my own research on products and found out that what I was told by an employee was completely incorrect. I was a little irritated by this as it ALMOST swayed me to go against a different product that I had my eyes on. Additionally, I was trying to work on getting a rebate for a smart thermostat. I started the process, and the employee was not aware that the process had changed. I called the energy company that I go through to find out what it was all about and they told me that they changed the rebate process. I then informed the employee of this and he informed his co-workers. I, the customer, should not be educating the employees on what the current process is. I won't fault the associates, as much as I do the company and leadership for not keeping their employees updated as necessary. I called Best Buy to have a question answered regarding a Geek Squad installation appointment. I was missing a kit necessary for the installment (that was my fault). I was going to get it the night before, but couldn't get out there due to the snow storm that had come in. I called to see if I could purchase the item and have it brought by Geek Squad when they came to my house. I was told that was possible, but their system would possibly change the date of my installation.. WHY? So they said I either had to go out the next day (roads probably still won't be in great condition) or I could buy the item over the phone, but the appointment would be changed to a later date. At this point, I'm not really sure why I forked over the extra cash to become a Total Tech member. Finally, I attempted to buy a soundbar, only to be told that the last one they had left that was on the shelf was not actually for sale as it had already been sold or claimed to be shipped to another store. There was no sign on it that indicated this. Overall, I think it's easy for anyone to look at the associates and let customer frustrations be heard by them. However, I believe these issues are less of a reflection of the associates, who I believed were nice and really were doing their best, and this is more so a reflection of Best Buy's leadership and management. Do your job and put your associates in a position to succeed. You're failing those working for you because they're the ones that have to hear the initial complaints and ultimately, you're failing the customers walking through the doors at the Peoria Best Buy. read more

This store is the Most Jacked up Best-Buy I've ever seen, Their customer service is horrible, their geek squad sucks and their inventory department is blind. Maybe I'm a-little biased.. I placed an order only to have them inform me that the item is out of stock and will be shipped to the store. I later find out that they canceled the order because the item is out of stock and that I have to place the order again in order for the system to ship the items into the store, In the meanwhile I pick-up the items that were in the store only to find out the items were lost in the store and they could not find them, not to mention it took over an hour for them to even locate my order. Once they do find my order and i place the order for the missing out-of-store items then I am not able to leave until the items I just purchased are marked as "picked" in the system which takes nearly an hour. I call back about a week later, turns out the items came in completely trashed and were no good, yet no-one informed me of this, and I am patiently waiting for the items to arrive, so finally the General Manager calls me who as been out of town (and knows nothing) reviews my situation and calls me, He didn't even know where the items I ordered were, but come to find out they were in the store ( they had arrived yesterday). I politely explain to the Manager that his staff is incompetent and that i diverse some sort of compensation. ( which he failed to provide) So when I go to pick the newly received items once again, the blind inventory department is unable to find the items again, and I'm stuck waiting for them to pop-up. I have had 3 Macbook Pros with this Best Buy. I have had their Geek Quad coverage for 2 of my Macbook Pros. Every...single...time... I come to this Best Buy (at least 5 times I've been here, at LEAST)... no one knows what they're doing. The customer service is horrible beyond the guy who greets you at the door. Every single encounter I have had with a Geek Squad workers has been beneath poor. NONE of them provided similar information, no one was ever on the same page, and there was a lot of "I don't knows" being said by the WORKERS! As IF their job wasn't to, oh, I don't know, FIGURE IT OUT! I just had to make THREE trips to and from Best Buy because the sales associate sold me the wrong charger for my Macbook when I brought both my Macbook AND my old charger to show them so that there wouldn't be any confusion. Am I mad? Absolutely. But I'll be alright after I post this review. Listen, if you can help it, do NOT go to this Best Buy. There workers are young kids it looks like who have no idea what their doing. I want to say so much more but if I do I might begin to curse to get my point across. I sincerely hope this review reaches someone in power at Best Buy because the service at Peoria, Illinois' Best Buy is ridiculous and appalling. I've gone to this Best Buy at least 5 times in a span of 4 years.... there's a problem there. I don't know if it's management, the hiring process, I don't know but I hate this Best Buy so so much. Man behind the customer service counter was quick to help and didn't give us much hassle when we didn't have the credit card, just an ID. Around 7pm on a random Thursday, its looks erie, surrounded by fog and located located waaay in the back of the strip mall, so keep your eyes peeled for the sign or Target, it's a sign you've gotten close. read more

Best Buy March 2018 We took our Computer to Best Buy for repair. Doug @ Best Buy called and said, the hard drive is bad. Can't be fixed. Took our backup hard drive to Best Buy. Bought a new Computer. Over $800.00 Doug called from Best Buy, said there is nothing on the backup. We went to Best Buy. Doug pointed at the screen. There's nothing on it. Went back home. Next day we went back to Best Buy. Jake or Jessie looked at our backup hard drive. Found that ever thing was backed up. Doug didn't look in the right place! Doug is not a people person. He doesn't try to help the customer understand the computer lingo. If you don't ask the question with the right lingo, then he just stands there and stares at you. We have been a loyal customer of Best Buy for over 25 years. Your employees have been very helpful and patient and trust worthy. We buy what they say that we need. While at Best Buy, we were approached by a woman (Nicole) who asked us something about our Internet and cable TV service. Because we were not happy with our current internet service (from ATT) we spoke with her. To make a long story short, Nicole signed us up for Xfinity internet service even though we did NOT authorize her to do so and very clearly told her we wanted to think about the information she gave us before making a decison. We had received good customer service at Best Buy in the past. But this person was not up to the typical Best Buy experience. read more

The TV screen rain bowed - got funny squiggly lines and then went black - my son who is 20 walked up to it and touched the screen, to figure out what was going on and it spidered. They are saying it is physical damage although the problem had happened before the spidering. I will no longer do business there and will tell EVERYONE that will listen my problem! read more

I purchased a computer from the Peoria Best Buy store on April 9th. I didn't take it out of the box until May 6th. On May 5th, I found out they just marked my computer down $150. Since it was still in the box new, I thought I would go out to the store and either take it back and re-buy, or the simple way was for them to do a price adjust for me. I was under the understanding that a price adjustment could happen within 30 days of purchase. The young man at the store was sort of rude, but said he can do nothing beyond the 16 days from purchase. I ask him, since it was still in the box unopened, can I just return it? He shot me another quick "NO." This was a man in Customer Service. You can imagine how I felt. But I'm a nice guy, so I didn't argue with him, and just left. From now on, it's going to have to be one hell of a good deal before I would ever buy anything from Best Buy again. Where he had me was on the sales receipt I brought in, it said 16 day return policy. Of course, it's in part of the receipt that everyone should read, but only a few actually do read it. I'll get to the point here. I called Corporate, and I was promised I would receive that price difference on my credit card within 3 to 5 business days. I waited 10 calendar days, it didn't happen. So I called Corporate again. They found my incident, but said the next level at Corporate denied it. Guess I'm just screwed by Best Buy. I'm telling everyone. read more

Was able to go on a Saturday and look at laptops without being approached for about 20 minutes and then flipped through iPad accessories still without anyone talking to me. I went to Best Buy to purchase a car radio. I went to Best Buy because they are the only Big Box store in my area that sells and installs car radios. I do not exaggerate when I say it was THE WORST CONSUMER TRANSACTIONS OF MY LIFE. I went to Best Buy and picked out the radio and the components I wanted, and I made an appointment to come back to have the radio installed. I arrived on time, and was told I needed to wait for a bit. I waited much longer than "a bit." When someone did come out, it was the installation mechanic, who I think was the only such person working at the time. This is what he told me, and no kidding here: He said he thought I had made the appointment so as to come and pick out a radio and components... So I had to make another appointment, go home and come back again. When I arrived at the store, the radio I had chosen was "out of stock." So I had to go through the process of picking out another radio and components. The selection they had in stock was slim. It took me a while, but I finally found a radio somewhat comparable to the first one. But then problems began with the installer not knowing whether or not the radio had hands-free capability. Also, I discovered the digital clock on the radio was tiny---virtually unreadable if there was any glare at all. I asked a store manager about the size of the clock. She replied that "they're all like that." That was nonsense, because when I chose YET ANOTHER radio, it had much larger and very readable clock. OH---I almost forgot to say that because of all the errors, the installation person had to take OUT one radio and install a different one. AND, as things went from bad to worse to worst, the installer treated me as if it was MY fault he was having to do so much work. When I finally had an acceptable radio installed in the car, the USB connection port was hanging by a wire and was lying on the floor. The installation guy told me, "That's where most people like it." The installation guy showed me how to link my cell phone with the radio to make and receive calls. Receiving was fine, but to this day the phone does not recognize voice commands. I have to use my cell phone to dial numbers. Last of all. GET THIS: Once everything was installed, I found that I could only get FM radio reception. AM was nothing but static. Here's what the installation guy told me: "Well, AM radio is being phased out anyway, because everyone is using FM these days..." No fooling, that's what he told me. There wasn't anything more to do at that point. Even the store manager had turned on me. I had become a problem customer... I cannot get anyone else to look at and fix the problem with the AM reception or anything else, because they do not want to monkey with the electronics of my vehicle, and I can't say I blame them. NEVER, EVER buy a car stereo from Best Buy. I will not go there to buy anything anymore. PS - If you self-install, try Crutchfield.com. I found out the radio I got from Best Buy was available for significantly less than what I paid at Best Buy. I think it may be that Crutchfield has installers who work with them, if you are not a do it yourselfer. Not sure. read more

My complaint is not about the service I received, but more how an employee, seemingly new, was treated by other employees. I went to Best Buy on 11/17/17 and my checkout time was at 1:42 pm. I was being helped by an Asian man who was very nice and professional but I was disgusted by the way he was treated by other employees. They treated him with such disdain it made me uncomfortable. I wanted to purchase an Apple Watch and they had him assist me knowing that he didn't have keys to retrieve the watch. When he asked for assistance the other employee was extremely rude to him. Then he needed help checking me out at the register since I was doing a split transaction. Once again a different employee was rude to him and misguided him in the transaction. It seems like the man had very little training and his coworkers were uninterested in helping him or me. I usually don't go to Best Buy due to the rude and unhelpful employees, but I definitely won't be back again. read more
