**DO NOT PURCHASE FROM BEST BUY -- AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, IF YOU VALUE YOUR POSSESSIONS AND THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY, THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE ALLOWING BEST BUY TO INSTALL ANYTHING IN YOUR HOME.** I purchased a new television from Best Buy, purchased the television mount from Best Buy, and PAID BEST BUY to professionally install the entire package in my new apartment. Today, I was standing in my kitchen when I heard a noise. I looked into my living room and my stomach dropped. **MY ENTIRE TELEVISION AND WALL MOUNT WERE PULLING OUT OF THE WALL.** The mount had come away from the wall and the television was apparently being held up by only ONE remaining screw at the bottom. I was home alone. I had nobody there to help me hold the television, nobody to help me lift it off the failing mount, and nobody to help me get it somewhere safe before it came crashing down. And all I could think was: **What if I hadn't been home? What if a child had been standing underneath it? What if a pet had been underneath it when it fell?** This wasn't a television I hung myself. **I PAID BEST BUY FOR PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION.** When you pay a major national retailer to professionally mount a large, heavy television on your wall, you should be able to trust that it was installed safely and securely. So I immediately called Best Buy expecting them to take the situation seriously. Instead, I was told that because the installation was more than 90 days old, they would not warranty it and that I would have to pay **nearly $200 for someone to come out and LOOK AT IT.** I was also told I would have to "get on the schedule." Let that sink in. **The television that BEST BUY installed was actively pulling out of my wall, and their response was that I could pay them almost another $200 and wait to get on their schedule.** I was so disgusted that I hung up. And then it got even worse. This happened at approximately **3:00 PM on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend.** Somehow, I was lucky enough to find an independent professional named Steve who understood the urgency and arrived within approximately 30 minutes. When Steve safely removed the television and mount from the wall, we discovered what was behind it. **BIG SURPRISE -- IT WAS A SHODDY INSTALLATION.** The mount had locations available for FIVE screws. **Best Buy's installer had used only TWO.** The two screws weren't even the same length. The longer of the two screws had been installed at the BOTTOM of the mount instead of the top, where significant pull-away stress occurs. So for all of this time, I had a large, expensive television hanging on my wall and had absolutely no idea how it had been installed behind that television. Why would I? **I PAID BEST BUY PROFESSIONALS TO INSTALL IT.** That is the part people need to understand. When you hire someone to install something in your home, you're not standing behind them inspecting every screw. You are PAYING THEM because you're trusting that they know what they're doing. You're trusting that the work you cannot see has been done correctly and safely. Apparently, that trust was misplaced. To make this even more unbelievable, **I ALSO PAY BEST BUY FOR THEIR TECH SUPPORT/WARRANTY MEMBERSHIP PACKAGE.** You can be assured that I will be cancelling that as well. Why would I continue paying a company for protection and technical support when I cannot even trust the quality of the installation they performed in my home? This isn't about a late delivery. This isn't about somebody being rude at a checkout counter. This isn't about receiving the wrong television. **THIS IS A LARGE, HEAVY TELEVISION THAT WAS PULLING OUT OF MY WALL AFTER I PAID BEST BUY TO PROFESSIONALLY INSTALL IT.** And when I called them while it was happening, instead of hearing, "That should not happen. Let's make sure you are safe and get someone there," I heard about their 90-day policy, another nearly $200 charge, and getting on a schedule. That response tells me everything I need to know. If you're thinking about buying a television from Best Buy, televisions are available from plenty of other retailers. But if you're considering paying Best Buy to install something heavy in your home, **PLEASE REMEMBER MY EXPERIENCE BEFORE YOU MAKE THAT DECISION.** Ask exactly how many fasteners will be used. Ask whether they're going into studs. Ask what hardware is being used. Ask whether the installation meets the mount manufacturer's requirements. Awful customer service went in and did a meta glasses demo and waited two weeks for the email to purchase and when I never received the email I contacted this best buy to get help to try to get them to resend the email or whatever it is they send to meta to tell them I did the demo and the unhelpful customer service worker said I need to come to the store to get them to resend the email as I live more southern florida so it is two hours away from me. They probably shouldn't offer demos if they cannot help after the fact of it being a problem on their end and there being no way to contact meta. Hate this stores parking lot which is why I removed a star. Located near 275 on Dale Mabry next to Walmart. Staff was helpful in finding what we were looking for. Instead of finding the gifts I came for, I found unhelpful employees, the dirtiest bathrooms in all of FL, and police assisting a man who was threatening to sue Best Buy because he slipped in the disgusting bathrooms and got hurt! Last week went to the store to buy at TV, at the hours that website said were reserved for seniors. Website also said, a greeter would assign an experienced sales associate to assist. The last time I tried to buy TV at BB, all the associates in TV section were flirting with young girls and ignored me. I looked for someone else with no success and left after 15 minutes. When leaving person at the door asked if I found what I needed, I said NO; he said OK. I bought a TV somewhere else about 30 minutes later. I thought with senior hours and assigned associate I would do better. I did not. Majority of people in the store were not seniors, greeter ignored me (on way in and out). I went to TV area. There were 2 associates helping others (one of two was clearly not a senior). I looked around for someone else found no one. After 15 minutes I left. Greeter never looked up. Great place to come for your every day electronic needs. Coming in during the weekdays around 2-5pm is the best time since you will avoid the rush. I went in today to get a Galaxy S9 and the process of picking, buying and paying was painless. The staff was very helpful and willing to help. I had mentioned a special for the S9 that comes with a free wireless base charger and a 128gb memory but in store they didn't have it written. So they went that extra step to look online and found the deal and honored it. I'm a happy camper now with a quick in an out purchase of a phone and some free items I didn't really looked at other areas of the store since I knew exactly what I wanted, but everything around me looks clean, well stocked and well organized. read more

Don't ever go to Verizon for help with a new phone. They won't help. They just do transactions. Went to Best Buy on a suggestion. They sell ALL the Current PHONES, I had Richey as my sales guy he spent hour with me choosing and setting up the new phone. I recommended his expertise AND customer service was top notch. We did have to leave and come back over an hour to do this set up. The Samsung rep is always on site on weekends as well so I felt very valued. My only complaint . . The new phones don't come with a charging block!! So I can't charge phone!!!! I spend hours trying to call the store to find out how the heck I'm supposed to charge a new phone. You cannot talk to a live person and a phone robot puts you on hold after a 10 minutes explanation, to be on hold with wait times stated . .and no one comes to phone. Tried 3 times. Would of been nice to know!! Now I have a dead new phone and had to borrow a neighbors to charge it!!! Simple but iMpORTaNt over site on Best Buy's part. read more

I waited for hours for computer expert to help synch and simplify multiple computers, old devices and new computer. The guy was nice seemed to know stuff. Got several problems addressed, then said he has 5 appointments that day. I said were not done. His comment " make another appointment" I took a half day off work and he charged me like $140 prepaid. When shopping for office equipment (e.g. monitors or printers) only buy it if it is on sale. I ended up going to two Best Buys in my obsessive quest to find the best monitor and printer for the cheapest price. I thought maybe different Best Buys have different sales. Not the case. You are better off looking at the Weekly Deals online than wasting your time going into a store. The one thing that does differ by stores are the items marked down because they are out of the box. I love good deals so I would probably zip in, take a look at that shelf, and then zip out. The workers at this Best Buy are pretty helpful, but I don't find them any more knowledgeable than if I go online and read a variety of reviews of people who have actually purchased the product. Here is my PSA about prices (which I included in my other Best Buy review, because I think it is very important to note): I went online to look at their weekly deals for printers. They had a ton of printers on sale that touted $20-$100 off! Don't get caught up in the apparent savings. I checked this against Amazon and the printers are always those prices. That means, when Best Buy isn't having a sale on those products, you are paying $20-$100 more than if you purchased them off of Amazon. Their one saving grace is the monitor that was on sale was still $30 less than on Amazon (even though they were advertising it for $70 off their normal price.) Always double check your purchase after you take it home. The first monitor they gave me was broken! You have 30 days to return it, so don't wait until day 31 to take it out of it's box! Moral of the story is yes they have some crazy sales, but always double check it with Amazon to see if the sales are really worth it. They do have price match guarantee, but what is the point of the sale if it just brings the price down to the everyday? read more

Just as bad as it was my initial review! This is easily the worst Best Buy location in the Tampa Bay area. I tried to do curbside check-in, but it was so crowded, I just decided to go in. I had received notice that my television was ready for pick-up, but the HDMI cable I had ordered was not. Weird. So, I asked the woman assisting me if I could just go grab it myself. The woman snidely said "If they didn't pull it, it's probably not there." So, I went to look, and sure enough, there were about 5 on the rack. I brought it back to her, and it turns out that this Best Buy store had mis-entered this item into their computer, so after about 20 minutes searching the computer for it, she finally went and got help. No worries though, because it took 35 minutes for them to bring my new television to the front, from the back of store storage. The way their system is set up, the woman "helping" me could not assist another couple until my tv was checked off - so she just stood there and glared at me for 35 minutes while the check-out line got longer and longer. From all the recent Yelp reviews, clearly they need to re-train their sales people on "customer service". If I ever lose my mind and order from here again, I'll just choose from what's on the shelf instead of pre-ordering it. read more

Asked where the converters were for an external for my new MacBook. The Manager try to man-splan to me that my 2019 MacBook was not "new" and I must be wrong and it must be older. Bc my iPhone 10 uses the new USB-C cords and if my laptop uses a different one than I'm wrong and my computer is old. First of all- the manager was completely incorrect in everything he told me from a technical standpoint. -An iPhone 10 (2018 phone) does NOT use newest charging cords- according to him it does use USB-C. #WRONG. -The 2019 MacBooks does use the newest charging cords usb-c, and has no other "holes." According to him they have standard USB slots. #wrongagain Second, home boy took it a set farther than the technical issues, and said I must be trying to stick my cords in the wrong type of hole for ear phones or something. Wtf. Who says this to a customer? I wasn't even asking him a question about the holes, just which aisle converters were in. And he is basically saying I'm an idiot? Then tells me I'm wrong about the date I bought my computer. I said no I'm not, and he said yes you are. What. The. Actual. F*ck? Why is this even part of the conversation, and why is trying to tell me I'm a bigger idiot. It's completely unacceptable behavior for a manager. Uneducated not only on what he is selling but also basic professional human behavior. The worst manager I have ever seen in a retail store. No amount of coaching is going to fix that attitude.
