Update from original review - news flash - they still suck - just funnier now that I can read his bs excuses. I've dropped any hope of resolving this issue long time ago - I just wanted everyone else to know what they did to me. However, this Jacob guy keeps sending me excuses on why he can't honor is 100 percent satifaction claim or how that means he can break your stuff and just not charge you anything and its all good. His excuses are actually getting entertaining - in person he wanted me to buy insurance and then scam them to pay for his mistake. Yeah - I'm not into criminal activity especially to cover clowns like this guy. Once I paid another company to fix his mistake and posted my original review - he first claimed I was a competitor making false claims - then I had mistaken his shop with another shop - then that employee most likely doesn't work here any more or something like that - then the prices I quoted were not his prices - then the company that fixed his mistake charged me too much... I shouldn't have paid $600 for that repair - he could have fixed his mistake for only $300... then Oh wait that employee now does remember that a little bit and says it wouldn't power up when I brought it in so its not there fault... Keep in mind - he is contacting me with these lame excises. This was my challenge to Jacob. I challenged Jacob to pull the security cameras for that day - if I didn't power up that laptop in front of his employee at the front desk and set a personal password at the same time and personally show him how the power adapter works well when held at the right angle as did the computer than I would do FAR more than just replace these reviews but if I did and that computer worked like I said it did when I dropped it off - he owes me nothing other than he can just accept the fact he owns a crappy business in South Tampa that does crappy work and gets crappy reviews and leave me alone by no longer sending me messages full of bs excuses. At this point - I would rather see everyone avoid this place then get anything from him. These people are scammers - they broke my lap top and refused to fix their mistake - I am 100 percent positive about this. The second shop opened my laptop in front of me and showed me the splattered solder on my mother board and missing screws clear as day. Absolutely 100 percent positive that the crappy soldering work from this business fried my mother board. This was a great high end laptop that I wanted to keep for a long time not some used piece of crap he tried saying at the end of his long line of excuses. I don't want anything from this guy - the only way I would change a thing about this review is if he finally said he was sorry and admitted he made a mistake truly tried to fix his mistake other than try to change my mind and review by making up excuses. I was sent here based on a friend's recommendation for them being affordable and honest. I brought in a mac laptop with a virus and an iPhone 5s with a cracked screen. They had me fill out their paper and they booted up my laptop in front of me and verified that it was a virus and quoted me on the spot to remove it as they have a flat rate for virus repair. They told me they may have to charge me extra to clean up the system if it needed it after the virus was removed and worst case scenario they would have to backup and reload my system if the virus removal and maintenance didn't fix all the problems. At first I was confused thinking they would charge me the $75 for the virus removal and then the extra for the reload but they assured me that if the work done did not fix it they would put it towards the additional repair. The iPhone was fixed the same day, really I could have waited for it but went and got lunch at the Chinese place in the same plaza and it was fixed by the time I got back. The laptop was done the next day, well I picked it up the next day they called at 6pm to tell me it was done. it would have been nice if they didn't call when they were closed to tell me it was done so I could have picked it up that night but at least I could plan to pick it up the next morning when they opened. The repair and virus removal where both done correctly with no issues from what I can tell, When they brought the phone and laptop out they were covered in fingerprints and smudges but they cleaned it without me having to ask. They also used their compressor to blow out my laptop and phone. They did not charge me for the cleaning but the cost to fix the phone was higher than what other places advertise. I see that they have pricing matching after the fact and will have to see if they honor that. While looking up places I found an article where phone repair stores will use peoples phones to do stuff online with it or backup your phone's data and put key loggers on it. I asked these guys about it and they recommended if I had any concerns to put an antivirus on it and what to look for. Still not knowing anything about these guys I was a little nervous still but they showed me a clip they did for the news about phone security. i brought my computer to another local computer repair place and they diagnosed it as a bad motherboard and quoted me $400 to get it fixed. I called Jacob at the Computer Doctors and he told me to bring it in for a free diagnosis but if the previous diagnosis was correct they could replace the board for $300 since they were a dell partner they said they could get the parts for less so they pass the savings on to me, but whatever. so i bring my laptop for the repair and they do the diagnosis and they call me the same day and tell me that it was just a bad ac adapter and a bad cmos battery. so instead of paying $300-$400 i paid $60. I wanted to write a negative feedback about the other place but at the owner of computer doctors request i won't write a negative review since he said that maybe the tech had an off day or whatever and its probably not a bad place just bad luck. I have to say that for one guy to tell me not to leave a negative feedback for another company that screwed up that these guys are a class act. the owner did ask that i leave him nice feedback which i'm doing now and to tell my friends about his store. I have to say these guys are the awesome. The owner i have to say is a saint with the whole negative feed back thing and the guy is a total family man and proud dad. Also 90% of what they sell is made in the USA. People talk about keeping jobs in america and supporting small business, these guys probably sell less because they are offering all Products made in the USA but the quality is there and the service they offer to small businesses is great. these guys have earned a customer for life and i'm reccomending them to my boss to use them as well. I also signed up for thier computer maintenance plan, i pay in a monthly fee, they guarantee to fix any problem i have and at the end of my contract they use some of the unused portion to buy a new computer from them. i have to say that they have the fairest pricing around and the best service. 5 stars. read more

I first learned about computer doctors from a friend, my friend used Jacob at his office and he setup and maintained my friends servers & network. I searched them on google and yelp and they had a mix of good and bad reviews which I like to see a business that only has perfect reviews often writes their own reviews. After calling them and setting an appointment for him to come out and evaluate my practice we had a date set which they had to reschedule as a computer emergency had come up for another business, and I thought ok bad first impression and went back and talked to my friend again and he reassured me. Our second meeting went smooth Jacob came in evaluated everything and gave me several plans of actions to correct all the problems on my network and servers. We decided on fixing both servers, putting in new hdds, upgrading my servers to server 2012 r2. over the next few weeks he setup all my servers on the new os and set them up so they were mirrored to my other server, upgraded all my client pcs and setup backups for everything. the transitioni did take a little longer than expected but we are happy with the results as everything is running quickly and we are not having any more stability problems. read more

Computer Doctors has fixed several devices for me. The pricing was fair as i called several other places and they were not the cheapest nor the most expensive.They were referred to me as my job uses them to maintain the computers at my office and while they are not perfect they are always quick to fix problems and don't treat us like idiots. The shop is clean, very bright and the staff are friendly. The owner should have them tuck in their shirts and wear belts as one of the employees did but the other did not. But everyone i talked to seemed very knowledgeable. overall I'm happy as the repairs were done the same or next day and the only time i had an issue with the repair and had to come back they fixed it without charging me and i have not had issues since. They also have signs everywhere including on the receipt and their business card that states if your not happy call the owner. i think the shop does a better than average job of making sure that if there is an issue that they can reach the owner about it. read more

i have had other places fix my computers but not were as polite, fast and affordable as computer doctors. most places are dark and smell funny but computer doctors was very bright, clean and the staff was very polite even when i asked the really dumb questions as i am very computer illiterate. they fixed my laptop and later i had them fix my tablet. repairs for both were done within a day. what really made me happy which no place ever does is they cleaned all the dust out of my laptop and tablet and even cleaned the screen so no finger prints were on it. i'm used to it back looking dirtier than when i left it. i'm a fan and tell all my friends to come here and hopefully lots of yelpers will too. read more

Jacob came out to my office and replaced 4 of our computers and worked on the other 3, everything is running much faster now and we are very happy with the results. we would recommend Jacob to anyone as they were recommended to us and both our friend that recommended us is happy and we are too. Quick and thorough. My desktop computer was totally inoperative after a failed manufacturers bios update (thanks HP!).
