I have been nursing my old iPad Mini along for the past year as it has been unable to do any more Apple iOS updates. I finally brought it into the store to see if anything could be done. I did not have an appointment for the Genius Bar, but the guy in the front took my info down, and told me it would only be about half an hour. I wandered off, and in about 10 minutes, I received notice that my appointment was ready. The guy helping me was super thorough and knowledgeable. He confirmed what I already knew - that my iPad needed to be replaced with a new one. Fortunately, I could get a trade in amount of $190, so that helped substantially with purchasing a new one. The apple "genius" (maybe Andrew?) ordered my new iPad mini, went and got it, took my payment, deactivated my old one, set up my new one, and scrubbed the old one. Altogether it took less than an hour and I was on my way, easy peasy. I don't use their services often, but it's nice that they are available if I need to. read more

We purchased a new phone at the Apple Store and also bought the "premium" Belkin UltraGlass 2 screen protector for $30-40. We were told it comes with a warranty and free replacement. Within 4-5 days of normal use (the phone was never dropped or damaged), the glass developed cracks. For comparison, $9 multi-packs from Amazon typically last us months without issues. Then the real frustration began. The store told us the warranty is not handled by Apple but by Belkin. That means filling out a lengthy online form, waiting nearly a month for processing, then another week for shipping. It has now been almost two months since purchase, and we've been walking around with a brand-new phone covered by a cracked screen protector. Extremely overpriced, disappointing durability, and a warranty process that is slow and impractical. I would not recommend buying these screen protectors at the Apple Store. Ordering from Amazon is far cheaper and far less hassle. read more

I honestly did not expect this to be the great experience that went down but it was the best! I The only other apple store is in brandon with a few other places that work under apple, like "best buy". Anyways made an appointment for early morning at 10:20am for a cracked screen repair under warranty. There were already a ton of customers ready to get things done as well. They had al lot of employees come out ready to handle everything and everyone. Again my appointment was for 10:20 and I was take care of by 10:05. Came back an hour later and phone was fixed. paid the $30 co pay for screen and was on my way. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Very cool mall too with lots of stuff to do. Worker was incredibly unhelpful and rude. I was confused on how to get my school id verified even though i had the documents i needed, the system kept declining, she just turned her back and ignored me. She talked to me like I was dumb just because I was younger. If I do return, I will not be asking her for help. Had to replace my IPad, it just quit! And of course no appointment, but got a Saturday, service was pretty quick. Alberto tools e the sad news that my pass was dead but got a few dollars more than cost of repair, I could get a new one. Do he turned me over to Anthony he got me set up right away. Funny and helpful, even the security guard at the door was nice. It was a very easy experience. Lots of people but lots of staff to help. Josh at the Apple Store at International Mall Tampa was incredible. I had a one-of-a-kind problem that both Verizon and Best Buy could not solve. Both referred me to Apple. I wasn't hopeful that the problem had a solution. I was immediately greeted at the Apple Store and within 5 minutes, Josh had started looking at my phone. I took an unexpected trip to the Apple Store after my MacBook Pro was irreparably damaged. Gigi was my specialist, and she helped me navigate the different options between MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros based on my personal needs. Me & my fiancee had come in around 2:30pm in regards to him needing assistance on how to gain access to his icloud account being that he does not have the password and when he would follow instructions at home trying to reset it, nothing would happen. When we arrived we were told we had to wait until 4:45pm to schedule an appointment however we did explain what we needed help with to begin with. Waited around the mall until 4:45pm. Came in and an associate had told us to go to the back and sit and someone would come and assist us. 5:30 rolls around and nobody had come by to even talk to us. My fiancee proceeds to go to the front and the associate up front tells him that they are unequipped to help us with his issue. That we need to contact online support. I am unsure as to why there is an apple store to begin with hiring uneducated employees that just waste people's time. Horrible communication and service. I went to this location in early December, needless to say, it was packed with customers. I did not have an appointment, however, I was able to see an associate regarding my MacBook within twenty minutes. When I return yesterday, 01/16/2026, I needed to see an associate again regarding my MacBook. I did not make an appointment, however, an associate took my information and told me the wait was two hours. This store was ten times as crowded in December than it was yesterday. So, why a two hour wait? I just wanted to drop it off for service. I decided that I wasn't going to wait two hours and be stuck in traffic on the way home, so I left. Lastly, the associate who took my information said that I was supposed to get an e-mail and/or text regarding my appointment. I received neither. Turns out you only get that if you have an iPhone. Staff is nice but is always so disorganized. The whole Apple store environment is frustrating. No registers so everyone just stands around confused and rudely cutting each other in line. I wanted to take a moment to thank the few ladies and gentlemen who took the time to assist me with a rare but odd issue involving my iPhone and CarPlay. The system would appear to connect, but I couldn't see or interact with it through my car's display. Although I ultimately figured out the solution myself, I truly appreciated the effort from those who tried to help. For reference, the issue turned out to be related to my VPN--having it enabled was blocking certain data from transmitting through the USB connection. Disabling it resolved the problem. I also wanted to mention that I wasn't able to follow up in person to share this discovery, but I hope this information can help if a similar issue comes up with others in the future. Apple Store is losing it luster. I own nearly 20 Apple devices and purchase Apple Care on all of them. Phone is cracked and I set an appointment. I go in which is an hour from my home or office. When I get there, they have to order parts. Ok, not a huge deal, so I go home. They call the next day and ask when I can come back. Oh, and by the way, if you can't get here in 10 days, we have to re-evaluate all over and start over so I go the next day after scheduling an appointment. I get there, and hour drive again and they are too busy to honor the appointment. Please come back another time or do you have someone you can send they say, no, no, no I don't. This store is the worst. Went in today to ask about the volume in my right AirPod not being loud. I asked the bald and bearded short gentleman what it could be and he immediately smirked and said they're just old. He didn't even look at them. He pointed me over to the AirPod section and said I should just buy new ones because mine were out of date. I than walked out, went downstairs and cleaned my AirPods with a paper towel and they work just fine now. Time for a new pair of iPods, so I stroll up to the apple store and there is two lines. Online orders and walkup, a guy asks what I am there for. I tell him and he said jump in the other line?!? Cool, a Lady in front of me gets turned away, and I'm up. I tell the new Apple guy i want new IPods and he's like Super! Meanwhile, a Lady has probably been waiting a half hour to get her Mac fixed and I pop in and out in 5 minutes! They recycled my old pods after gathering the serial number and a couple of clicks. Do not buy Beats Headphones. Apple owns beats. Headphones owned for 1 year 3 months and there is a MAJOR defect where they do not charge. Customer care for beats is run by Apple and was told to go to Apple store. There was nothing they could do for this. The customer service provided 2 solutions. 1 send them in to get fixed which would COST MORE THAN THE PURCHASE PRICE TODAY. And 2 was told to pay MORE for protection in the future! This place is like visiting Disney! I cannot get over how crowded this store is! Wow. But despite how crowded, just find a staff member and they get you on your way in a very organized format. Everything is done on the iPhones that they carry around. You tell them the product you're wanting to buy, they find it and scan it then wait for the person in the back to bring it out for you. There aren't typical cash registers in the store either, they ring you up on the iPhones and then have drawers with the cash should you be paying via cash. Despite the store seeming over crowded and cause for you to potentially turn away, give it a shot. From what I could see, a lot of the people in here were either playing and touching the electronics or charging their electronics. Staff was friendly and attentive and we were in and out in no time. read more

This one's tough, most of the employees offer 5-star service once you get to talk to them, but Apple's overall retail concept is dismal. I decided to get a new phone, so I ordered online to pick up at the store. My husband and I both wanted to pick it up at the store in case there were any issues with set up. Well we bounced around between like 5 Apple employees. First the intro guy where people just start to form a line in front of him. Then he made us wait at a table for the equipment guy. When we inquired about setting up, the equipment guy directed us to the "set up" table where another guy was supporting a few parties. I asked him about how to utilize the new shortcut app, and he tried explain it but then confessed that he deleted it from his phone lol. What is that app good for?? I digress. His shift ended pretty soon after we got there, so a different guy took over. Once all my data transferred, another guy helped transfer my SIM card. Well apparently Sprint is the most difficult carrier to switch SIM cards. So he moves us over to another table where he's on the phone with Sprint for 10 min explaining the issue. What a life saver!! Finally after about 1.5 hours, we're in our way! I wish Apple had true registers though. I think they could actually save money and headaches that way. read more

My wife and I visited store this morning.. when we walked in a apple employee said, are you buying.. I thought this was odd, but said we would like to see the new watches.. she said are you purchasing and I said , we would like to view.. the watches. Before we commit.. she said again are you purchasing.. As a customer, I was shocked. I like Apple products, and certainly service at the Apple Store is good, when you can flag someone's attention. I'm not sure if the problem stems from not having enough employees or by not paying commission to the employees, but I feel like every time I go to this store it is like pulling teeth to get someone to help me. And I'm cute and non-threatening! And I've never come to this store to do anything but pay them money for goods or services, so please don't ignore me! When I do get someone's attention (and usually that someone will have to finish one or two other things before finally helping me), I do get good and honest service. Which I like. Impressed by the ease of making an appointment here, and the patience of the employees! This store is always overflowing, but they stay organized. I had an appointment for what I thought you be simple, but it required a major cleanup of certain files on my device. Employees are helpful, but there are tons of people needing help. It seems like everyone in Tampa Bay owns an apple product. We went at 7:30 p.m. on a Friday, store closes at 9 p.m., and there were still tons of people! We knew we wanted apple watches. We had done minimal research on what type, so we did need someone to explain a couple choices to us. There was one guy assigned to apple watches. Seriously, there were at least five free apple employees just milling around, but only one could talk about apple watches. Lucky for us, we got there when no one was interested in apple watches, but by the time we were almost done, there were two other families vying for his attention. It was a relatively painless process making our choices and then checking out. I love how they can just check you out there so we didn't have to go to another line. The Apple Store is more expensive than other places. Best Buy and Amazon were having sales on the exact apple watches we were buying, $50 off each, but since we had an Apple gift card that we weren't going to use, it made sense to purchase them there. The prettier watch bands that go with the more expensive apple watches were about $140 if I wanted to purchase it separately! I ended up going on Amazon and buying a $29 band that looked just as nice. Overall my experience in here was fine, but I would definitely avoid it if I can. Way too many people. read more

Let me just say.... I am glad I went with my 18 year old daughter today. I am certain she would have left there in tears because of the unprofessional and horrible customer service we received if she went alone. I am so mad at the service we received. This young lady was so rude, she made my hands shake. I was so mad. My daughter decided she wanted to get her own phone and her own phone plan. She was so adamant about going to the Apple Store thinking that she will leave there with a new phone. I was against it. But I am trying to let her make her own decision. When we arrived there were people waiting outside the store. We did not know if it was a line to get in or what. I finally asked a customer in line and she said they were waiting for service to fix something and we could just go in. We went in and found the phone my daughter was interested in. We stood there. Looking around. Still nothing. The sales people were walking around. Some helping customers. Some just talking to each other. Finally my daughter said to a young lady...."can I get some help with this phone over here?" This girl said..... "no, you need to come over here." That is when I had enough. My daughter explained to her what she wanted. The girl said.... "Can't help you. You need to go to T-Mobile. " Thats it. That's what she said. I found that to be very unprofessional and disrespectful. Her lack of customer service is horrible. People are spending thousands of dollars in that place and receive horrible customer service. I love Apple. I have several Apple products myself. But I will never ever shop at that International Mall location ever. read more

Yes, the employees are personable, intelligent, and patient. Yes, the store has lots of demos & space to walk around. But, no, I will not return on a day that a new product is debuting. Madness! Today is the release date for new iPhones and iWatches. We checked in for our 12:30 appointment at 12:30. We lined up behind the noon checkin line. At 1:15, all of the noon appointees were done. We are still waiting at 1:30. Meanwhile, the line for anyone without an appointment has not moved since 12:30, but gets longer. Inside the store, employees carry on with business as usual - helping over 100 folks milling about, looking at tablets, phones and computers. We have the first iWatch released. Now we'll have the newest one, which we ordered for the new health features. We use them a lot, and we know it's worth the money spent. But the madness is frustrating. read more

When you call apple to ask if something is covered by your apple care and they say "yes, but only if you take it to the store for replacement", so you schedule an appointment (a week away, because holidays), and you get there only to find out that it's not covered at all. Honestly, I've had it with Apple. Almost $400 for apple care to cover accidental damages that doesn't actually cover accidental damages. What a joke. read more

Similar experience to the Brandon location...but also a different scenario. My Macbook's trackpad went haywire on a random night and I decided to walk in for some Genius Bar help on a Friday that I happened to have the day off from work. This was also the particular Friday that the iPhone 7 was released and I arrived to a line out the door into the parking lot. However, the staff approached me immediately regardless and asked me what I needed. I was told it would be an hour wait to be seen. I waited over an hour with no response. Canceled my appointment and went about my day, as I had other things to do. Came back a few hours later and was told I would not have a given 'return time' due to overwhelming demand but would be put on the waitlist. Since I had nowhere to be at that time, I took them up on it and was called back within 20 minutes. Weird! Helped by an awesome employee who recognized that my trackpad was busted, he set me up with a send-off of my beloved computer for 3-5 days for the cost of $280 flat rate to fix the problem. Still makes me sad that I actually paid $299 after taxes to repair something that shouldn't have malfunctioned after a year and a half. Especially after this was tested for moisture or irresponsible damage and failed that test. But what can I do? Nothing. At least the staff was pleasant. Got my computer back within 5 days (Not business days which makes the difference) with an upgraded baseboard and a 90 day warranty. Can't live without it, so I may as well deal with the cost. Yesterday we came to the Tampa store to buy 4 ipads and accessories, after waiting over 45 minutes the team members working the room did not even acknowledge our being there, worse yet was an elderly woman who was waiting when we got there and had to get a stool to sit on so she "did not pass out" (her words). I understand business models have changed and buying online is encouraged, but the absolute lack of service or even recognition that we were there was very disheartening.
