Scratched trim: I've used Best Carpet a few times over the years, and overall I'm happy with the price and the quality. I recently used them to install new carpet in several rooms of my house. The quality and price were again satisfactory, but the crew did a number on my baseboard trim. I had it looking perfect with any scuffs removed and painting done (I did this prior to install so I wouldn't get anything on the new carpet). Upon completion I saw it was scuffed, dinged, and scratched up. Using the email on their website, I sent them an email with my concerns as well as photos. I included the job information and my contact information. The next day the email bounced back as undeliverable. I called them and again expressed my concerns. They stated the email address on their website was outdated and gave me the new one. I was told to email them again including the photos. I again emailed them, but two weeks later have yet to hear back. I guess the check cleared so they no longer care? I had to spend several hours with magic eraser and paint trying to undo the mess they made. The actual scratches into the wood of course can't be undone. See attached photos. read more

Wish there was a way to rate Best Carpet below -0-. They do not even deserve the one star. Following the flooding in August we were finally able to make a carpet selection for a second home on November 6th. Best Carpet came recommended by several people. On 11/7 Sean measured for the carpet and on 11/9 he sent us the quote. We immediately sent Best Carpet $2,500 to cover half the quote. On 11/17 Sean set an installation date of 12/22. We drove 3 hours on Sunday 12/21 so that we could be there for the 12/22 installation. That morning, when no one showed up, we made multiple calls to Best Carpet, but since they do not open until 11:00AM we did not hear back until late morning. They advised us that we were in fact scheduled for installation that day and they would contact the installer. Early that afternoon they called to tell us that the carpet was on backorder and there would be no installation. They blamed it on Sam who left for vacation the week before and was too busy to call. They knew this for weeks but no one ever called, texted or sent an email. Despite this error they refused to apologize. So 6 hours of driving and 2 days wasted - all because they did not bother to call. On 12/23 we stopped at their store to receive a refund of our deposit. Once again - not one person, including the owner, would apologize for not notifying us of the backorder. Had they called us, we would have made another selection - too late now, they will never get my business. Does this deserve even one star - absolutely not. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I wouldn't even do that. I'd give them negative stars. I bought our carpet from them in 2021. Upon delivery and installation, they didn't bring enough carpet - unsure why they measured our areas in need. We spent close to $3000 for this carpet that was meant for high tread areas. Nicole reached out after I left a bad review and deleted the bad review due to their warranty on carpet not knowing how TERRIBLE the service would be. I would have never deleted if I knew what would entail after. This warranty process started in April. It's now July. I waited almost 3 months for someone from the carpet manufacturer to come look at my carpet. According to the manufacturer my tread and thread were the appropriate length. The technician himself was so shocked when he looked at the carpet and heard I had it cleaned 1 month prior to all of this because of how it looked. The entire area of where our carpet is, is so worn down that it looks like it's been there for 10+ years! Of course it will look good when you run your hands through it and spray cleaner on it.. what about when you walk on it afterwards or vacuum the carpet afterwards and it goes right back down? It's so matted down and vacuuming twice a week in many directions, doesn't fix it. Nicole, whom I was "working with" was so rude and had no empathy towards this at all. Didn't seem to care that this ordeal was time consuming and now a waste of my time. Overall, terrible and rude company. Terrible carpet. Rude customer service on behalf of Nicole. AVOID THE COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! I would leave 0 stars if I could. They do not warranty their work no matter how bad their installation is, period. They're a pass the blame company. We started the claim over a year ago. We had to be the ones who constantly called them. They tried to pass the blame to Mohawk carpet and made them send out a product inspector from that company. The problem with that is that we didn't have a problem with the carpet, we had a problem with their installation, and they tried to get Mohawk to pay for their shoty work. They left about a 7-ft long raised seam and a terrible seam repair after they're piss poor attempt to fix their poor installation job. Janice has got to be the rudest customer service "person" I have ever dealt with. According to her, they're not responsible for making sure the surface area where they're installing the carpet is suitable for installation. Janice lives and dies by a report (that was never shown to us) about the carpet, not the installation. I'm sure this is their get out of jail card for anybody that files a complaint with them. Not a single person from their company ever came out to inspect their installers' work. Another thing that Janice said was not their responsibility. So basically, if they can't get the carpet manufacturers to cover their horrible work, they won't do anything. I'm sure Janice will reply to this review with "the Mohawk inspectors report said" and still will not take responsibility for their poor installation. Buyer be very aware, all they want is your money. They do not care about making customers happy. I know this because when I said to her, "I guess your bad reviews are pretty accurate," she replied with, "I could care less what they say." She also followed that up with "if I had to help every customer that complained, I'd be out of business." Which tells me she has gotten quite a few complaints. Check BBB and Yelp. If you like bad installation, piss poor communication, extremely rude customer relations(Janice) and a person who could care less about anything you say and roll her eyes at you over and over(Janice), then this place is for you. You get what you pay for, and that's why they're cheap. They don't care about customer service or workmanship quality. All the care about is if the check clears. Hired Best to install new carpeting throughout our buildings . This was supposed to be a two week project in January but here it is at the end of April and it is still incomplete. In addition several areas of the carpet had rips or snags, which we had to ask to have corrected. In the past 2 years, my wife and I have used Best Carpet twice. Once when moving out of a house and 2 years (and several moves) later when we found a home we plan to spend some time in. If you want to save time and not read an entire review you should already know how we feel about Best Carpet because we have used them... twice. The showroom, sales people and installers are all awesome to deal with and they do a great job. Now for more detail... The first time we used them in the process of selling a home. We went in, told them our situation and they did most of the rest. They knew we were selling so they weren't pushing anything pricey and there was no attempt to "upsell" us. They gave us some of their most popular options with price points and we picked what was best for our situation. After picking the carpet, Sam came and did the measurements. Sam is super personable and great to deal with whether he is showing carpet at their showroom or coming to measure your house. He's part of our great experience with Best Carpet. Once the measuring was done the carpet was ordered and install time was set. When the install day came, the installers were on time and did the job quickly but they also did the job well. Every cut looked clean, every line unnoticeable and very little scrap left over. We were more than satisfied. Even with being more than satisfied I didn't feel compelled to write a review because I had no personal attachment to what they did... we were selling the house so someone else was going to get to enjoy it. I have no doubt in the fact that their great job helped sell our house, however. Fast forward 2 years to now (January '19). We moved what I'd consider to be a decent hike for them to come out to. We actually assumed they wouldn't come as far as we moved so we started looking at carpet places closer to us. After dealing with Best Carpet the last time around all I can say is the sticker shock from other stores was insane enough that we figured we could call and beg them to come out our way but we didn't even need to. They were more than happy to come help us out, even being at the very edge of their service area. This time Sean came out to measure and he was just as great as Sam was to deal with. He brought a few samples and then priced up a quote the same day he measured and we took it from there. Their pricing is one-third to half the expense when compared to the options in our immediate area. Along the way my wife and I hemmed and hawed about the carpet we had picked out so we decided to go into the store and take a look at our options. Let's just say that if you can't find flooring you like at Best Carpet, you have some crazy taste and/or standards. They have what feels like (and might be) a thousand options. After picking a few samples we liked, Sam encouraged us to take a few home to see how they looked. I didn't really want to because of the whole being far away thing but Sam set something up that worked out so we could get the samples and get them back in a way that worked for us. This ended up being so useful because seeing the stuff in your own house feels key in this kind of decision. We made our final decision, the carpet was ordered and an install date was set. The day prior to our install, our furnace died. January in WI isn't exactly a great time for this to happen as your house needs to be a certain temperature to have carpet installed. I felt terrible about calling and telling them last minute we needed more time... Sam told us not to worry and he again made a solution that worked for us. Finally the day came to install. Carlos and Caesar were our crew and they are super personable and absolutely fantastic at what they do. Bottom line, they bust their ass but they don't just bust their ass, they work hard AND get the job done well. Again, just like the first house Best Carpet did for us, the cuts were great and the lines were unnoticeable. You know the movie "Elf" when Will Ferrell's character runs by a diner and sees "World's Best Coffee" and he gets super excited about it? Excited enough to bring a date only to find out it is certainly NOT the world's best coffee? The normal human reaction to the "best" of anything is an eye roll. That shouldn't be the case here. Best is actually (pardon the repeat) the best thing to call this place. While their carpet selection and showroom are similar to any other carpet store, the way they separate themselves is with sales and service. The name "Best Sales & Service" isn't really a good name for a carpet store... so Best Carpet it is and I can't think of a more honest name to call them. read more

I have used Best Carpet and Sam for quite some time. I am always happy with the service--quick and reliable. However, this past October, my daughter and son-in-law bought some new carpet for their living room and bedroom. The carpet ended up being delayed several times. Could this be because they didn't use Sam? I don't know. The carpet was finally installed the beginning of December. The carpet is excellent quality, and both gentlemen doing the work were wonderful. We had carpet and wood flooring put in by Best Carpet. I would never use them again. First, we bought a new home in August but we stayed in our apartment so that the work could be done before we moved in. Best Carpet told us it would be finished before we moved in. So moving day came, we pull up with our movers and when we got inside, the whole kitchen floor was still ripped up. Also, parts of the new wood floor was chipped, the molding around our front door was broken, the stair rail was broken, and they put no sub flooring down in front of our front door. when we first our carpet done Sam told us as long as we got it professionally cleaned once a year it was under warranty. Months down the road it's looking rough (i vacuum EVERY DAY) so we get it carpet cleaned professionally. still looks Ike crap after so i reached out to best carpet in November 2021. after months of me emailing and calling i finally get an answer via email February 2022 janice telling us the company won't cover it and we're vacuuming it the wrong way. We read many positive reviews about Best Carpet and Sam on a community facebook page. We decided to give Sam a call and let him know that we were hoping to get carpet installed within a month or so. He was able to come out within a few days of our call and was very nice to work with. He gave us a quote, discussed our carpet choice, and stayed involved throughout the whole process. When it was time for installation they arrived on time and started working right away. The installers were respectful, clean, and extremely hard working. They did an amazing job on the actual carpet and we could not be happier with the results. We will use them again for other flooring needs in the future. So happy we called them! Best Carpet helped me with a number of projects this past fall. Sam is awesome and so is their installers. I had a huge rehab project including installing cork flooring in a bedroom and living room which went better than i expected. Those installers never took breaks, worked together quickly and professionally. The also put in baseboard moldings around the edges of the room that they painted to match for us. Beautiful workmanship, looks fantastic. They called prior to set up the date and arrived promptly on time and cleaned up afterwards not leaving anything for myself to do. Mike installed carpet in another bedroom and stairs. He was also pleasant and professional, quick, took the old carpet with him and did a beautiful job. Last but not least, Sam! Sam listened, was knowledgeable, showed me carpet samples at the measuring appointment to choose from and agreed to "air out" the 2 types of carpet chosen. Those carpets did not have an odor when installed. Because this was such a overwhelming project i had difficulty choosing the carpets. After i had initially ordered two carpets i changed my mind on both after they came in and Sam came over with more samples and reordered them without any hesitation or any sign of being disgruntled. SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND I'M SO IMPRESSED!!! Was just going to get a comparison bid for my new fixer upper house's flooring. Spoke with the owner Sam and he came in $1000 less than the next guy who I've used for years. My new house ended up needing to be gutted due to animal problems. Sam had guys in there within 24 hours ripping out drywall and subfloor for us. These wonderful workers along with his flooring guys worked very long hours and fit us in their schedules so we could get moved in fast to save us money. I had him restain our staircase too which looks amazing. Excellent quality of work, they cleaned up after themselves, didn't damage anything, were highly skilled and just really cool guys. We needed carpeting for a 12' x 12' area, and were going to check out three carpeting stores along Hwy 100. We went to Best Carpet first and they had a 12' x 15' remnant in stock. No need to look further (or so we thought), they had the size and color that was close enough that we could use. It was after the carpet was installed that we found out there wasn't any warranty for the carpeting because it was a remnant "in stock." We're actually happy with the carpet, no issues there, but we would have likely checked out the other two stores before making a purchase if we knew we were getting carpeting without a warranty. Best Carpet is probably a fine company; they did a nice job with the carpet, and we would still recommend them, but the warranty issue for us was a bit disappointing. read more
