I have an unfortunate experience to share about Best Jewelers in the Manoa Shopping Center. I don't recommend you do business there based on my experience. In early January, I took a gold watch bracelet to them to have two links made to lengthen the bracelet. While in their possession, I inquired almost weekly for an update on an estimate for cost and time needed to perform the work but never received it. After about two months of waiting, I decided I'd take it back and have someone else work on it. When I went to pick it up, Sonya the store manager, handed it back to me in pieces. I started putting it back together when I noticed there were pieces missing. Had I not checked, Sonya would have let me leave the store with it in that condition. After pointing out the missing pieces, she said she would look for the missing parts and have it ready the next week. So I came back the next week and the bracelet wasn't there. I wasted my time going to the store when they could have called me to let me know it wasn't there. I was told to come back again the following week. I came back the next week and when I inspected the bracelet again, I found that it was again missing parts, but now it had been damaged. It looked like one or possibly more of the links had been hit with a hammer. How they managed to damage it so badly I have no idea. The parts damaged shouldn't have even been handled at all. I'm now waiting for Sonya to again resolve this but at this point, this watch bracelet is likely a loss and will need to be claimed as such by their business insurance. The cost is almost irrelevant though as this bracelet is irreplaceable. Don't take your valuables to Best Jewelers because they may end up like mine - ruined. read more

Ever since the original owner (gentleman) passed away this place has gone downhill. The business hours are down to 6 hours per day (also closed Wednesdays) and the woman who now runs the place strolls in at her leisure & opens 20-30 minutes late. She has a condescending attitude and she couldn't care less about her customers. She has no people skills, no communication skills, and no sense of urgency nor respect for the customers time. AMAZING customer service. The second I walked in they were nothing but helpful. I went in looking for a specific ring for a Christmas present. After seeing a pendant that was almost exactly what I was looking for, they actually were able to send it to their repair guy to create a customized ring. Their services were so fast that I was able to pick up the ring within 3 days. It was even better than I imagined. I took 2 watches in for repair and paid for the repairs and new watch bands when I dropped them off. I received a call that they were done. I arrived to discover that they were unable to locate the watches. I had to return two more times before I finally got them back. One watch was repair. The other was not repaired. I found that I was overcharged for the watch bands, was not refunded the repair fee for the second watch nor was any consideration given for the multiple trips I made because of their disorganization. I found the jewelry to be very dated, poor quality/low end and over-priced for what it is. Plenty of better small business jewelers in the area. read more

Visited: Wednesday - December 2, 2015 - 10AM (Manoa Shopping Center) Although this store is about the size of a living room, rings, watches, necklaces, bracelets, of all colors, shapes, sizes and price ranges are available. Entrance is impossible unless personnel permits access. A buzzing sound signals door release. Frankly, I'm here primarily for watch battery replacement. I wait while the work is completed. It generally takes less than five minutes and is inexpensive. On this visit, I requested repair of my flexible watch band or a suitable replacement. The repair commenced since no flexible watch bands existed. I was happy with the results. I will return. read more

Do not take anything to this jewelers! They are the worlds worst! The owner passed away, there is no one responsible there. They have incompetent employees! Brought a brand New tag watch to be sized the incompetent employee bent the pin on the bracelet and scratched it with her pliers multiple times. Had to pick up the watch and take it to a real jeweler to have it repaired and sized. Ever since the owner passed away this place has gone to shit! while there witnessed another woman bringing a watching for her mother for a battery, a simple battery change, they couldn't even get that right! Handed the watch back to the woman with the back of the watch falling off. They couldn't get the back of the watch back on. The initial fix wasn't what I had expected, so without missing a beat, Sonia offered to have it sent back to her repair person. A week later and it's barely visible that it was ever broken! Do Not go here!!! I had my watch battery and my husband's watch battery replaced here and a few weeks later, my watch stopped working. I brought it back and the gentleman who replaced it told me that the same watch was now broken. I explained to him that it worked fine until I brought it to them and he seemed to NOT KNOW ANY ENGLISH all of a sudden. My family has been coming here for a long time and this wasnt right. My husbands watch stopped working also but a younger gentleman who did speak English explained why it wasn't working and repaired it on the spot. If you do go to THIS jewelry store, make sure you have the younger stocky gentleman do it for you. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AND RECOMMEND GO SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY DON'T BREAK YOUR WATCH. I went to buy diamond earrings for my GF and was a little put off by the presentation. Obviously much of the inventory is used and the prices reflect it. I thought that i got a good price on a pair of diamond hoop earrings and had them gift wrap the set for a gift. When she opened it one of the diamonds was missing in the front of the hoop. I returned the set to find another suitable replacement but could not find something she liked. I left the earrings and got a receipt for their return. No refund was given on my credit card. i have called them three times since returning the earrings and the man on the phone say i need to speak with manager. He is Brother. I have left messages with no call back. Now i have to dispute the charges on my credit card. Frustrating! I would not recommend. read more
