We are so happy with Marco and his crew's work. We initially got three estimates. I just immediately trusted Marco and felt like he'd do a great job. We have no regrets! Marco was honest, reasonable, and even suggested preserving as much of the pre-existing flagstones as we could so that we could keep the cost down. He answered all my questions and kept me posted on the start and end date. Our walkway and stairs were in complete disarray with several broken and loose pieces. The previous owner had haphazardly used a mortar that was not meant for flagstone and it looked terrible. We had three bids, and what sold this company for us was that Marco helped us refine the idea of what patio we wanted, and really listened to our ideas. We were thinking of a paver patio, but when we started discussing maintenance and care, we quickly switched to flagstone. We liked that he was visible in the pics of some of his other jobs, and that he was going to be on site helping install the patio. It did not hurt that he was also less expensive too. Small team means less overhead. I was impressed that he was very responsive and timely. From demo to completion was about two weeks, faster than I thought. I had ideas to put a fourth light on the sitting wall, and he recommended not doing that and said it was too much. I decided to trust him and I am very glad I did. He was right. A fourth light would have been too much on that wall. He also talked us out of installing rope lighting, said this would look much nicer. It is. For those who are looking I went with the 6" lights from Volt electric and the Kichler transformer that integrates with smart homes. The light is perfect, and I have it turning on just before sunset every day for several hours whenever it is not raining. These smart home features are just bad ass. What I can say is that the final result is far better than I could have imagined thanks to Marco and his team. We are very happy with our patio, and it has completely transformed our backyard. I couldn't be more pleased with the project Marco and his crew completed at our house today. Our front steps had some stones that came loose, and after trying to repair them ourselves (only to have them break loose again within months) we realized we needed a professional. I spoke with Marco on Friday, he was here on Monday and had the steps done by 4 pm. He went above and beyond; we talked about replacing two of the flagstones, but he noticed a crack under one and a chip in another and replaced those, too. The work is beautiful and our steps look brand new. (Oh--I noticed this morning that our holly bushes had grown past the rails on the side of the steps and did my best to prune them back before Marco's team arrived to work. I left them the trimmer in case they needed to cut back more, and at the end of their time I saw that they had trimmed the bushes 360 degrees and they look much better than they did before! I wanted some repair work done to my patio. I had Mexican tiles that had to be replaced on the steps to the spiral staircase. Many of the pavers in the patio had sunk in places and the pavers had to be removed and blue stone tamped in to bring the pavers back up to grade. There were gaps around the columns that had to be filled in with pavers. This was done and then polymer sand put in the cracks to prevent movement. The price I paid for this work was reasonable. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The initial photo shows some of what needed to be done. Then photos of before the sand was installed and after. I don't have photos of how the Mexican tiles appeared before but the finished product is beautiful. The Mexican tile is on the steps to the staircase. read more

We hired Gt Masonry Construction (Marco) last year to do extensive renovation in our backyard. The scope of the renovation works was as following: ~70 lft of basement waterproofing, building two sets of stairs, one 5ft high and ~50 lft brick wall, porch creation, ~1000 sqft paver patio, ~750 sqft concrete driveway... So we hired Marco and his team after seeing the great reviews. I cannot say enough about the level of work, professionalism and excellence that he puts into the job. We wanted to extend our driveway and remove the muddied grass area near the side door of our garage as we would have water issues there all the time, at it's worst during the winter. We recently moved into a home where the previous owners had install a backyard patio that wasn't truly 'finished'. GT masonry rebuilt the dangerously uneven and deteriorated flagstone front porch steps (two sets). They added another step, making each step wide with easy and even elevations. He also replaced deteriorated mortar on the front walk, and set post support brackets for a railing. His price was very reasonable for the work and expertise involved. Marco did an excellent job putting in a 500 sq ft concrete patio at our home. He was very responsive, polite, punctual, and got the job done fast. We got 5 or 6 quotes and his price was very fair and he was by far the best at communicating with us. We had a few obstacles in the area they put the patio in and Marco navigated them all and was professional the whole time. Only problem we had was the concrete company that came on the final day damaged our driveway when they made the mistake of coming down a steep hill instead of parking up at the top and we have had trouble communicating with them for repairs.
