This is an edit to my original review When I arrived and sat in my chair the nail tech made me feel like I was an inconvenience but we carried on. I wanted a new set which I was told would take a long time. Okay? Weird but I still want a new set. After that was finished he worked very hard on my nails and they came out wonderful. Truly the shape was done perfectly. Once we started the polish he went off to the side and added something to the nail polish and then continued to paint my nails. Once I ran an errand, came home to shower the hot water rubbed my gel polish off... So, I called and went back and another lady was going to do my nails. I picked a other color because they said it was the polish but when I looked over the guy was testing it out on a fake nail. It must have worked because he banged down the box of polish and said she will paint your nails. Honestly, I'm pretty sensitive and I got choked up because how was this my fault and why were you so nasty doing that? The lady painted my nails and I came home and had dinner. I'm sitting on my couch and I noticed that they're starting to rub off again. I started to rub on them because I didn't want it to rub off on my bed when I was sleeping. You know how they have to drill your nails to get the gel off well all I had to do was rub my nail and just take nail polish remover to it. Last time I try somewhere new because it's closer. I'm never going back. They looked so good at first too. read more

Worst manicure/pedicure I have EVER gotten. They should be ashamed to charge people for their "services." I feel so ripped off! My nails were a mess after leaving there! They didn't even do my cuticles! After applying the dip the lady barely used the drummel so my nails are mis-shaped! I kept telling her i like my nails more square and she made two of them square and the rest round.. I literally had to take the nail file and do it myself. Also, one of my nails had such a space that it looked like I needed a fill already. The sad part is that I haven't been able to get my nails done in a very long time so this was supposed to be me "treating" myself.. I wish I hadn't. read more

This is a gel manicure I had yesterday. The gel does not cover the entire nail and other nails missing polish and gel. I find it hard to believe this nail tech passed her state boards. I had another bad experience there in the past, and had not been there for a long time, never should have gone back. read more

I am updating my review of Best Nails after several disappointing encounters with a male employee. I do not know his name, but he should not be doing nails, period. On one occasion, I went in for an acrylic fill and it was terrible. Just shoddy, didn't look nice, and his attitude sucked. A week or so ago, I went in for pedicure (which was wonderful!) and my daughter had her nails done by this same gentleman. Just sloppy, sloppy work. She's 11 and she was so mad she wanted to ask for her money back. It was that bad. ----------- If you go here, don't let this guy do your nails. ----------- Everyone else I have had has been great - there's a wonderful woman there who does acrylics like I've never seen anywhere else - thin and beautiful. Went back and asked for my nails to be fixed. After the female manager came over the guy who did them started. I pointed out the flaws and he started to fix them. I mentioned that near my cuticle they were very thick, but I think he said that it was because I bumped them? The nail polishing was a lot better this time. At one point when he was finished before applying the nail polish I saw that the tip was still messed up and showed him. He handed me the file. I am happy that my hands look better, but I will definitely not come back. I think it may just be the one person who works here, as the other customers seemed to be happy, but I felt uncomfortable. Will never go back to this place . Very unorganized and unprofessional . Went in to get eye brows done . Was told it would be a few minutes . 15 minute later another person asks me what I'm waiting for . I tell her eye brows . She tells me they can't do it because they have no time . I asked why was told to wait and the woman starts yelling at me that she is the one who does the brows and she was in the phone and has no time for me . After waiting 15 minutes I was irritated so ask for a manager . Was told there was one there . Asked who the manager was and she refused to tell me. Went over to a guy technician and asked him . I wish I had enough consistent experiences at Best Nails to give a coherent review with, but honestly my visits here have been so mixed I have to say the quality of experience you'll have depends entirely on who your nail tech is and nothing else. Thuy does a fantastic job and is very friendly, as is the woman who also does waxing, but I've had mixed experiences with the others. The men who work here are harder to talk to than the women and they're not as friendly either- in fact, since they don't even have names on their coats I can't even tell you what their names are! Last time I went, I was sat for a pedicure and stuck with a younger guy who didn't even ask me what kind of service I wanted (there's three different types of pedicures) he just gave me the basic with a crappy leg rub and that was it. If it wasn't for their proximity to Stop and Shop I probably would not come back here, but the location's good enough that I'll pop in here for walk-in's if I have no time to go anywhere else. Three stars for my positive experiences with Thuy and the waxer, though. read more

Usually go to Top Nail on rt 138, which I like, and have only had one "major" problem with them over the last few years....but today, I went to Best Nails...and I was hesitant. Place was ok, not overly clean, but not filthy. Not very friendly, at least I didnt find so. The manager did my nails, ...was a guy, didnt really say more than 2 words the entire time, no idea what his name was. I will say he did an excellent job though. Not sure I'd go back unless I couldnt get into my regular place when needed. read more

I don't normally visit this place because of a previous negative experience. There are much better places around and I was surprised this place was as busy as it was. My daughter wanted a gel polish change and we were in the area so I took her here. They kept asking me if I wanted anything done and after a few times of telling them "no, I'm all set," they told her to pick a color. The woman who did it was so slow - it took her more than an hour! The finished product was nice but my daughter told me that she kept messing up and having to redo nails. She also said she put on too many coats so I'm hoping this gel stays on for a month! Never again. What should have taken no more than half an hour was an hour of my life I'll never get back. Nails on First is my go-to place..even Lee Nails in the Swansea Mall is even a better bet!! read more

Worst shellac manicure I have ever had! I did not make an appointment, waited 45 minutes for my manicure to begin. A gentleman did my manicure and did a terrible job. He kept telling me to relax and that my hands were still, he told me my nails were too short to be filed round like I asked. To be honest he could have said whatever he wanted and I wouldn't care had he done a nice job. My nails still have the polish on them that I had in prior to the manicure, so he did a bad job with polish removal. None of my fingers have the nail polish starting at the base of the nail, and every single finger has the nail polish not completely covering the nail. Between the 45 minutes I waited and the 1 hour spent getting the manicure, I can't even be bothered to go back. He did a terrible job with top coat application/cleansing with alcohol. I have nail polish under the edges of all my nails and it has since dried on. They charged me $25, I inquired About the flag out front that says shellac manicure special and they said "oh yeah it's usually $27, special is $25" this manicure was a rip off and I will never ever return to this place. They do not deserve business as there is no professionalism, no attention to detail( and overall no skill involved in the process. read more

Just terrible experience over all. I only went here because my regular place was closed on Memorial Day. You walk in and you can tell that this place doesn't have it all together. I said I wanted to change the color on my gel manicure. After five minutes of me explaining exactly what I meant, I sat down with someone. He asked me to choose a color and I did. Half way through the appointment, the guy doing my nails gets sick and I go to another station. This lady was at least friendly. I started to notice that the way they did it was odd and unfamiliar. They put on a regular polish and then a jelly coat on it and call it a "gel manicure". Not only did I get this coat on my fingernails but also all over my fingers as well. They filed my nails way too short and the color that they did it in was not the color I had asked for. I would have said something, but by that point I didn't care. It depends when you go and who you get. My last time there was great, it was an older woman and she did a great job. The visit I just had was okay. The place was packed. I got a really young girl, who wasn't even wearing a white coat like all the other techs. She didn't put a base coat on my nails, and the square shape is slanted on some nails so it doesn't look very professional. The top coat on one nail has a big bubble in it. She had me sit under the dryer and then sat in the pedicure chairs talking to some other young teens and never came back to check on my nails because they were working on their own. Oh well. I'll go back but not on a Saturday afternoon like today. read more

I find this nail salon to be pretty inconsistent. I've been here dozens of times with varying experiences. I've had some female employees who were really kind and did a great job while others were not as good. I've had a male employee who was really not friendly and I felt as if I was bothering him by getting a service. For your own sake save your money and never even give this place the time of day!!!! To start off, I have had acrylic nails for over three years and have ALWAYS gone there for my fills just for the simple convince of there location is close by to my home. It really depends on who your nail tech is on how well your nails come out, I would say there is maybe only one or two DECENT nail techs that work there. I have had to go back many times over the years to have my nails fixed or re-done because all of the other technicians do not do as good of a job as they should they just want to rush you in and out of their chair. Secondly while you are there if you tell them one thing that you do not like about your nails or ask them to fix something they automatically start talking in their language, which clearly means they are talking about you BUT THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE PAYING THEM FOR! Thirdly, I go to the salon today for my bi-weekly fill at 7:00 and they tell me that they can not do my nails today because everyone wanted to go home!!!! WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS DOES THAT!!! As I walk out, I said I will just never come back here again, and no one even tried to apologize for the inconvenience EVEN the MANAGER just watched me angrily walk out the door. GOING HERE WILL BE THE BIGGEST WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND GO SOME WHERE ELSE BECAUSE YOU WILL ONLY HAVE TO GO BACK IN A FEW DAYS TO HAVE YOUR NAILS RE-DONE BECAUSE THEY WILL DO SUCH A CRAPPY JOB!!!!!!! read more
