I ordered takeout and arrived a little early. I let the staff know I knew I was early, ordered a beer at the bar, and specifically asked them to let me know when my food was ready. About 45 minutes later, after wondering what was taking so long, I finally asked someone to check on my order. I was told, "They're boxing it up now." Moments later, I watched a staff member pull my order out of the heated holding area and hand it to me. That told me my food had been sitting there while I waited, despite letting the staff know exactly where I was. By the time I got home, the food was only lukewarm. What disappointed me most wasn't even the temperature of the food--it was that nobody apologized or acknowledged what had happened. A simple, "I'm sorry, we missed you," would have gone a long way. Mistakes happen. It's how they're handled that keeps customers coming back. Unfortunately, this experience made me think twice about ordering takeout here again. read more

It's "happy hour" Monday through Friday and it's about 3:00 PM. I'm enjoying my beer and vegetarian slice of pizza for about eight dollars. I've been here a few times. It's really a nice spot right off the freeway exit of Highway 215 and Los Alamos. Nice assortment or selection of tap beer, ice cold and always a friendly staff- great environment. Great pizza with a perfect crust! My favorite is the hot honey, sausage, and burrata. They also have great salads and crispy wings. My favorite salad is the bbq chopped chicken salad. The first time I came here, the food took forever because they forgot my order. But they made up for it by giving us a gift card for next time, but still gave us the food, so we were happy. We've been back several times since, and the service has been much better, consistently A+. Even their fries aren't your run of the mill shoestring fries. They come out hot, crisp, and seasoned. They won't warm up the cookies BUT you can order the cookie ice cream combo which is essentially a mini pizzookie and does come with a warm cookie. This was our first time to this location and we all loved it as much as our favorite SD location. Everyone was super friendly, the inside was modern, neat and clean, and the food and drinks were amazing, as always. You can't beat the slice and a shirt for $8 and since the hubs likes the shirts so much, we always take advantage of it. Today we ordered most of our regular favorites - couple of single slices, best salad, meatballs and marinara, bets hazy and best blonde - and then decided to try the vegetarian with bacon and a last minute seasonal Carmel Apple martini - alll so damn good!! If I'm in the area, I might stop by Best Pizza & Brew, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The service was okay and the cashier was friendly, but overall it seemed like the staff didn't really know what they were doing and didn't appear very welcoming. Customer service could definitely be improved. The staff also does not have a friendly tone or expression when dropping food off at the table, which made the experience feel less inviting. I ordered two pizza slices, and they placed both on one tray without asking if we needed an extra plate. We are a family of three, so sharing one tray was hard to manage. The restaurant itself was clean. The pepperoni pizza was okay, but the cheese pizza could have been better. The taste was a little off and didn't really taste like a typical cheese pizza, so I wouldn't order it again. I really wanted to like this place, but in my opinion I've had better pizza. read more

I could tell right from it's appearance, that I would be tasting something burnt, and it didn't disappoint, as it was barely edible and most pieces had no squid, so I really just bit into burnt coating. I went in super hungry, therefore, I was compelled by that to eat some of it. I've never eaten there, nor will I ever again, as the service wasn't at it's best, either- I was about to walk out but, again, I was very hungry and didn't want to drive and decide on another place. You can tell a lot about a business by the little things...such as the box they use, and the insert that goes between the pizza and the box. We tried their pizza for the first time. We order a pepperoni and cheese and my boyfriend got a pesto pizza. The first bite of the pepperoni was full of garlic it was almost overpowering the sauce. Consistency is key and vital to a successful restaurant. This is my 4th time here and everytime it's been just as good if not better. I was really impressed tonight, the line was constant with guest and it was moving efficiently. More importantly the staff was attentive and food was coming out of the kitchen hot fresh, faster than most fast food restaurants. We tried the buffalo sauced wings, not as spicy as I would have liked but full of flavor. The sweet chili wings are the star here as is the dough from the pizza.
