I originally heard about flash movers from three of my different colleagues that I'd use them in the city / downtown area. My boyfriend and I use them for our move in January. These guys are beyond great. I hired them for a pack up and move from a second floor condo to a third floor condo (both walk ups) and they were amazing. First of all, they packed my jammed condo seemingly effortlessly in no time at all. And I'll say this... I will never pack myself again. They showed up with all of the boxes and packing materials and finished my place in less than three hours. It was a crazy busy time for me at work. The night prior, I was still doing work until about 2:30 in the morning. I literally did nothing to prepare my house for the move. They got there at 7:00 and they were done packing before 10. Although having someone pack you may sound excessive - at the time, I didn't really have a choice. I was surprised at what a good value it was. When I packed by myself in my previous move, it took weeks, I paid more than twice the amount for materials, and my packing was nowhere near effective - all this and I still wasn't ready for the Movers when they showed up. The day of my move was, legit, the hottest day EVER. Can't remember exact temp - but over 100. They all worked to hard and got everything to my third floor walk up quickly and seamlessly. Pricing aligned with the estimate provided and not one item was missing or broken. That move went to well that I hired them to pack me up again and move everything into a storage unit. Several months later when my new place was ready - the moved everything out of the storage unit and into my house. Can't recommend working with them enough. Miguel and his crew did a fantastic job on what was a pretty complicated move: two apartments on upper floors in separate entrances in a rambling building in Hyde Park, across a very long rear courtyard to the truck, a stop off at a self-storage facility to pick up a lot of stuff, with everything going into two separate units in a house in Archer Heights. The men were polite, careful, very hard working, and a pleasure to work with. Everything was moved and ended up in the right place in six hours for what I thought was a reasonable price. Had a big move today (~30 boxes plus full furniture for a one-bedroom) that went incredibly smoothly thanks to Elver, Raul, and Osvaldo. They were extremely diligent, and they took a ton of care to protect all of my furniture. They individually wrapped each piece -- TVs, chairs, couch sections, tables, bed frame, artwork, wardrobes -- and even packed a few things I hadn't gotten to yet, like blankets and vacuum cleaners. I called for a last minute (2 days before) 1 bedroom move request (local, ~1 mile away) & they were able to fit us into their schedule. Great job moving my one bedroom apartment. Efficient and friendly, they got everything out of my old place and into my new place in about 4 hours. The one issue I had that's preventing 5 stars is that they're cash only, and I wasn't told until they'd almost unloaded the truck at the new place. I wasn't told that on my quote or in the email chain setting up the move or in the phone call confirming the move date and time. When the truck was almost unloaded, one of the movers asked if I knew they were cash only. They didn't take Venmo or Zelle either. I had to run to the bank while they finished unloading the truck. (My parents were there; I didn't leave them in my place alone.) I should have been told upfront. Moving is stressful enough without having to run to the bank for a cash withdrawal at the last minute. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND; THEY LACK REGARD AND CARE FOR CLIENT BELONGINGS Initially- thought I had a good experience. Six young movers came and very quickly loaded my things into a moving truck. Due to my moving arrangements, the truck was driven 40 min to my parents' in the suburbs before I started my cross country move. As I checked on my belongings in the suburbs, I found multiple items damaged because they were not wrapped at all and improperly loaded. The sharp surface of the base of my table was placed on top of an unwrapped chair. A metal trunk was pushed next to a wood record stand with neither either covered or wrapped. I found several instances where damages could have been avoided but were not properly cared for in the packing process. I emailed Manuel and in a very unprofessional way he passed blame to say it was the way the driver was driving! #1 The driver was my dad, he more than anyone drove in a way to protect my items. #2 The point of movers is to pack your belongings in a way to withstand a move. My items would have been damaged by a 5 min drive let alone the remainder of my cross country move. I am appalled an owner would fail to take responsibility for their work. All I ask is a moving company treat my belongings as if they were their own. As I continued to check my belongings, I saw complete disregard for the way things were packed and more damages would have ensued had I continued to my destination without repacking the truck myself. Aside from the damages, the manner in which the owner immaturely failed to take ownership for his company- I warn anyone against using Flash Movers! read more

We were super impressed with these movers. In a past move, I'd used another company (the one with funny sayings on their trucks), but that company was booked for this recent last-minute move. After shopping around, we found Flash Movers. We worked with Manuel, who got us set up for a move just after the first of the month with a start-time window of 8a to 9a. The day of the move, I got a text from them at 7.52a saying that they'd just arrived outside and were ready to go! (What?!) They'd brought an extra person, as they needed more people for the next move (scheduled at 1p), so with the extra person, they were able to work much more quickly. The belongings in our two-bedroom apartment--I think 26 pieces of furniture and 30 medium-to-large boxes/bins--was moved down two flights of stairs at one place, trucked a few miles away, and unloaded and carried up one flight of stairs at the new place in a matter of three hours. I write this review in COMPLETE AWE of Manuel and his team. Scheduling my move with Manuel over email was quick and he was responsive to my questions. When it came to the day of the move, the movers asked if they could come early. Unfortunately my building would not allow them to come early or I would have taken them up on the offer to come early. Would have been done even EARLIER! Dio and his team were FANTASTIC! He and the three other team members were personable and ready to work. They assessed all my items and quickly began a plan. I was immediately impressed with the care they took with all of my items and how they wrapped AND PADDED my couch so it would not be damaged. They also took the care to take out the shelves of my bookcases and wrapped those up as well. This moving team was the first one to do that! When it came to moving the items into my new place, I only have stairs (luckily they only had one flight) and they didn't even hesitate/complain. It was beyond impressive that the team remembered where my items were from the old place and added them in the new room accordingly. They also re-installed my shelves. NOTHING WAS BROKEN OR DAMAGED :) All while this experience was happening, Dio and his team had a great sense of humor. The team really does hold up to "flash movers" because they were done in record time! From start to finish, it only took a little over 2 and a half hours for the entire move. The prices were completely reasonable compared to other companies in the city. It is without a doubt that I will ONLY use Flash Movers for any future moves! Alejandro and his team (5 men total) were incredible!! They got here at 8am sharp and moved our 2 bedroom condo in Bucktown, to our new house in Skokie in less than 4 hours. They broke down our furniture, wrapped it, and rebuilt it upon arriving at our new home. **Also- Our condo was on the 4th floor with NO elevator. These men did not complain once and went straight to work. They were fast, wrapped our items extremely well, and were very careful moving everything.
