I was referred to TR Plumbing by the extended warranty company to service my GE water heater purchased at Home Depot a few years ago and now covered under extended warranty. I was apprehensive about a referral to a non-referenced plumber, especially given my prior negative experiences with a former Home Depot warranty service provider, Rescue Rooter, whose plumbers tried to sell me a buffet of replacements/upgrades that I did not need. I called the warranty company yesterday to file my claim and, due to my urgency of being without hot water, was provided Randy's phone number so I could contact him directly in addition to their normal alert system. Randy said he had intended to block out the time but was empathetic to my situation and agreed to squeeze me in first thing this morning. I explained that The Gas Company representative had identified my problem as thermocoupler failure; Randy asked for make, model and serial number and requested that I text photos of the complete unit plus specific close-ups, which I did. Randy arrived this morning, within the promised window, and with the right parts. (The maker replacement parts are being overnighted to me but Randy came with replacement parts from his personal supply so he could solve my problem this morning, asking only that I forward the warranty replacement parts to him in exchange as he did not want me to be without hot water again this morning.) Mr. Ferronato was prompt, professional and empathetic. Although on a tight schedule, because I was interested, he took the time to explain the failure in the context of how the hot water heater works. He not only did a great job on my water heater repair but also educated me as a consumer and homeowner. He is/would make an outstanding teacher. I felt one disappointment in this service visit--the realization that I would not be able to call upon him in the future as he is in the process of relocating out of the area! So not only did he assist me in my time of need but also without the expectation of generating future business--just because he is a genuinely nice guy. In fact, Randy told me that he hardly does any residential service as his focus has been commercial. I really appreciated Randy's help this morning and wish him every success in his new endeavors.

I was informed (in writing) by my builder that I have to have my toilets re-installed by premier plumbing to keep the warranty. I have been calling premier plumbing daily to arrange the re-installation. Day 1: I was told that someone would call me the next day to schedule the appointment. No one called the next day. Day 2: I called again in the afternoon, and get the same response ('someone will call me). I called again at 3:50 pm and was told the same thing. I asked the lady, when can I get someone to come and re-install my toilets? she then had another lady to assist me. This other lady sternly informed me that if I had someone else removed my toilet seats, then I have lost the warranty anyway. Day 3: I called again. This time I was being asked who removed the toilets and since I have my flooring guy removed them, I have lost the warranty. I informed this lady that I have in writing from the builder that this is not the case. She then said, someone will call me. This is what I am experiencing. I didn't think it could be so frustrating to have a plumbing service. I am now still waiting for 'someone' to call me. Whoever it is.

No big problems, just a series of small ones that led to a lot of inconvenience and a more cost on our end. 1. They were supposed to arrive at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday, but forgot. My son had taken the day off and had to take an additional day the next Thursday. We'd already been without hot water a week at that time. When my son finally called and asked when we could expect them, owner said he forgot about our appointment. Worried he might lose the job, he apologized over the phone and offered to give us a discount amounting to a day's pay for my son. My son told him they could discuss it when they arrived to install the softener. 2. My son lost a vacation day but not any actual cash so after thinking on it, he decided he'd spread some good karma and tell the guy that we forgave the mistake and that no discount was necessary. But neither he nor I had the chance. The owner would not look me in the eye and quickly walked away when I tried to talk to him. I use a cane and was not going to chase after him. Before the job was finished, he took off leaving the technicians to finish and collect the payment. I'm guessing he took off because he didn't want us to bring up the offered discount. 3. ** On a positive not, the technician that oversaw the job (owners daughter?) was friendly and knowledgeable. In fact, she finally went to the hardware store herself after their electrician kept coming back with the wrong part. (They had to install an exterior outlet for the softener). 4. Our system was not able to be installed in the garage do to access to our main water line. Instead, it was installed on the south side of our house, in all-day direct sunlight. Now we need to figure out some way to shade the softener as direct heat can damage the tank and the electronics in the control valve. In addition, where it is placed, the discharged water flows to our our lemon tree and line of cypress trees. We had to choose losing our trees from the softener salt ($10 a bag) or going with the more costly potassium salt ($40 a bag). We chose to save our trees. 5. What they did not tell us is that people with kidney disease or those on certain blood pressure medications, including the one I take, can develop a dangerous, sometimes deadly condition known as hyperkalemia when ingesting extra potassium. I now need to buy bottled water to drink and cook with. 6. The day following the install, we had a leak in the yard and sprinklers that did not work. The leak was a broken sprinkler pipe, possibly from their electric tamper or digging for the softener line. The sprinkler issue was caused by a broken valve in the box where they hooked into the main line. Thankfully, my son was able to figure out the problems and fix them himself. In all, our experience with this company was neither bad nor good. Just OK. It would have been nice if someone apologized or at least told us they broke the sprinkler valve. Mostly, I'm disappointed that the owner (Carlos) went out of his way not to make good on his offer to give my son a discount for the day he took off work -- even though my son planned to turn it down. His actions speak more to his character than his initial apology and offer of a discount when he thought he might lose the job.

I asked him to adjust it, he tried to adjust it but nothing, it needed to b replaced. Maaaan! Ok fine replace it. Our daughter asked to have the second bathroom with the noisy shower pipes checked. He did a little happy dance when he saw the recommended kitchen faucet. LOL! He work quickly. I actually liked listening to him work and run up and down the stairs.
