Time for an updated review. I had an accident in the kitchen and caused damage to one of our cabinet doors. So embarrassing, and rather serious for the door. I can't say enough good things about Bill and his crew at Best-Way. We had him repair a broken dining room chair a few years back and the cost and quality of the work were so impressive we knew we'd be back. We had a small fire in our kitchen that burned part of one of the cabinets and the drawer above it. We brought in both and hoped for the best. They replaced parts of the cabinet door, put on a new drawer front, and stained them to match perfectly! They also fixed a broken leg on one of our kitchen chairs. Bill and his team at Best-Way are miracle workers. I brought one of my grandmother's antique dining room chairs to him after the incompetent movers we hired dropped it off their truck and completely cracked the top of the back. I was hugely upset, and figured the repair would be very costly because of the amount of damage that had been done (what you can't see in the pictures is that there was a huge chip missing on the underside that I didn't even notice until Bill pointed it out). After some research, I called Bill and brought my chair in for him to look at. He assured me that fixing it would be no big deal, and that I wouldn't even be able to tell where the crack had been when he was finished with it. And that it would take a week and would only be $100. I have to admit, I was skeptical - but he assured me, "This is what we do!" So, I left my chair with him, and when he called me to come pick it up I almost cried! He had completely filled the chips and broken pieces, glued the cracked wood back together, and finished it to exactly match the rest of the chair. You can see in the finished pictures that there is a dark grain line, but if you aren't looking at it in bright light you would never notice it because it matches the color of the rest of the woodgrain so well. Then, when I asked him about fixing a scratch on a different piece of the set, he told me that i didn't need for him to do it and could fix it myself, and told me what to buy (brand, product, color) and how to go about doing it. These guys are absolutely the best. I will recommend them to everyone I know, and if you have furniture that you care about that needs to be expertly fixed, go to Bill. I started refinishing my kitchen cabinet doors but figured I'd be dead before I finished. Brought about 22 pieces to Bill, and asked for a green color. Bill took a sample, asked how I liked it, went back and forth a little and finally settled on a tint. The price was reasonable - $40 per drawer and $120 per door (about, I can't remember exactly). Bill finished about a month later and they were simply beautiful. I asked how long it took, Bill said way longer than he thought, but yet charged the agreed on price. Can't get better than this. Bill did such an amazing job refinishing our kitchen table that I honestly think it looks better than when we purchased it almost 12 years ago!! It is a very heavy wood farm table with two leafs that can be added to either/both end(s) of the table. The leafs did not need to be refinished as they are only used occasionally so Bill took one of the leafs to match the color for the table. Considering our table and six chairs were made by Thomasville and we paid a considerable amount of money for the set, I thought it would last for a very long time. That definitely was not the case with the table. The finish started to "peel" within the first couple of years and only grew worse over time. The table felt "tacky" and crumbs, dust, etc. would stick to it. Most of the time over the last few years I used either a table cloth or a runner and placemats to keep the majority of the table covered. Because I still really liked the table, I decided to look into having it refinished. Our village has a local Facebook page so I sent out a request for recommendations for anyone who knew of a reputable and really good furniture refinisher. Bill/Best Way came highly recommended by someone I actually know so after talking with her about all of the work Bill had refinished for her and her family, my choice was made and I could not be happier. Our table was picked up and delivered by Ken who was delightful to talk to, the turn-around time was approximately two-weeks which was definitely okay with us, the cost was very reasonable and the finished product better than I could have expected.
