They renovated this property about a year ago after a fire on site. The property wasn't destroyed but Jn sure they used the chance to do the refresh of the property due to the fact that they needed to be down and cleaning the smoke and water damage anyway. This place is a dump....plain and simple. When you walk into the lobby, you are greeted by the stench of sewage......fitness center was closed (I was OK with that as it was vacation), hot water in the room was not hot. Perhaps this would have explained the new water heater in the hall next to the elevator. I've stayed in this location twice. It's significantly run down. And I know the service industry is hard and unforgiving, but housekeeping could use some encouragement. The shower in my room was so moldy like the tile/grout never even gets wiped down. Breakfast was pretty nice though. read more

Haven't even stayed the night and already regretting our decision to stay here. We are on room #3 for the night and they have all smelled like mildew, are stale, damaged and overall not very clean. We left the first room due to damages, second room was not any better, but we sucked it up. Their website states they have sofa beds. This is NOT accurate and I wouldn't have paid more to have a room with an extra area just for a loveseat. Receptionist is nice, but I shouldn't have to go back and forth about what a sofa bed IS. The fact is, we paid to have a King Suite under the impression that there was a sofa bed in the "living room" area for our two smaller kids (4 &2). We initially thought we were doing something wrong and couldn't get the couch to open. Receptionist confirmed none of the "sofa beds" actually open into a... bed. There were also no extra sheets/blankets in the closet or drawers like you'd normally find for an actual sofa bed. We were kindly downgraded to a small, stinky room with two queen beds. Thankfully kids have a suitable place to sleep, but this is not what we paid for or had in mind. We already can't wait to leave. read more

We made a reservation with booking.com. We drove 2.5 hours to get here & The Aspen had already given our room away!! I'm not sure who's fault it is but this was unacceptable! We were offered a lower quality room at a sister hotel that is lower quality. I'm very angry!!! read more

Needed a place to stay for the night and decided on this Best Western in Fort Smith, AR. From the outside it appears to be nice. Parking was very limited. The room appears to be decent but that is where it stops. The bathroom was filthy. The tub had caulk missing and the parts that had caulk was filthy. Grime and mildew was around the entire tub. One wall of the bathroom had crud on it. Not sure what it was. The sink was not clean or polished. Had some fingerprints on the vanity. The safety lock was missing a part and unusable. There was also a part of the entrance in the room that had not been painted. We arrived late and decided to go to bed and let the manager know in the morning. Well, at an early checkout, we had to knock loudly for someone to come to the front desk. She was clearly not happy to be up at 6:15 in the morning. I politely and quietly told her the room was filthy and told her the extent of it. She un-caringly in a 'why you telling me this' attitude said 'OK, I will tell the manager'. I read through some of the reviews. This isn't as classy as a 5 star hotel -- of course not. You get what you pay for. But it has decent amenities for the price point. The rooms are clean. The staff isn't as sophisticated as those at The Four Seasons, but they are just as friendly and accommodating. Everyone from the front desk staff to the cleaning service was very friendly and made me feel at home. The rooms aren't fancy, but they're clean. And the rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator that isn't stocked with a mini bar. The high end hotels make you pay extra if you want an empty fridge, which always annoys me. I've enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book here again. read more

I have never been in a hotel that didn't have curtains to cover the windows. This hotel is in a busy area with a lot of restaurants and hospital very nearby. The curtains, however, are gauzy material that you can see though when you are outside and block zero light (I checked by walking outside). I had to MacGyver a way to close the heavier curtains to cover most of the window so if have some semblance of privacy. This was a huge issue as anyone could see me if I walked even six feet away from the window. The pillows didn't smell clean and there were stains on the sheets. Breakfast, while there is a few one, was very limited as both the juice and yogurt machines were broken. They also don't offer caffeine free tea. The pool is empty except for a little mosquito developer and empty water bottles at the bottom. Lastly, there are four lamps in the room, and even having them all on didn't create a light bright enough to read by in the room, which is not energy read more

The kid behind the desk was very nice. But the ROOM NO!!!! walked into the room with my boyfriend and it felt musty and humid. The carpet was also damp. But we both had never been to the south and thought maybe it was because it was humid. It wasn't. There was a rain storm that night and rain came through out window while sleeping. The carpet was wet in the morning and some of luggage even got wet! I went and complained to the front desk and they did not seemed supried. Hotel was recently renovated, but it is like putting lipstick on a pig. Paint was peeling off the bathroom wall from an obvious leak from the room above. The beds were comfy and wifi and television are in good shape. Hotel staff has no idea what they are doing. They had to call in a lady from the quality inn next door. She showed up in a towel and swimsuit to try and figure out how to redeem my best western rewards. They said they could not upgrade my room, but said I was the only reservation for the night? Finally, the lady in the swimsuit upgraded my room. Something weird is going on at this hotel. I would steer clear of it. read more

Kacy at the front desk was very helpful; after she saw how stressed from 7 hours of driving with a crying cat, she came to my aid with the luggage cart out in the parking lot. That meant a lot to me because I am 70 y/o and needed help. Kacy is representing Best Western in a very positive way. The rooms are clean and look recently renovated. Near by, within walking distance are many restaurants. I am pulling a trailer and did not have troubling parking. The wifi is fast enough and there is a laundry room for all those smelly clothes in the plastic bag in the trunk of your car. All the great features - plus Kacy make this motel a winner. read more

We came to stay for work for a month, hotel staff wants to charge us $75.00 for leaving a couple cans and a minuscule amount of garbage, which we were going to clean already because we still have a few weeks to stay in this place.
