From the outside, the hotel seems like it would be dated. The saying, "looks can be decieving" rings so true here. The rooms are clean, the bedding comfortable, cozy, modern, and relaxing. I love the rooms all have a fully stocked kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and oven. There's also an individual coffee maker and a small toaster. They have an impressive breakfast spread that runs 7am-10am everyday. The gym is well equipped and the pool is a fair size compared to other hotels at similar price points. The hotel is dog friendly, which I love being a dog lover, myself. I deducted a star because to enter the hotel, a person has to swipe their card a good 20x before being able to enter. My TV didn't work, which was not that big of a deal to me, but I could see how that might be a big deal to others. They are also short 2 dollies, which again nbd to me. But again, might be a hassle if you're having to wait to unload your luggage, especially if the person in front of you chooses to doddle. It's right across the hospital and surrounded by plenty of eateries and within a few miles of all sorts of shopping. This is an older Residence Inn. I noticed some of the reviews complained that the hotel needs renovation. You will be happy to know it's getting that and it's almost finished. We stayed in a one bedroom which was pretty and comfortable, but small. A little more space might have been good if we were staying more than one night, but it served our needs. We got a good nights rest and a decent breakfast. The man at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint is lack of a salad bowl. We had to use a cooking pot to toss our salad. It worked. It might have been a problem if we were cooking something we needed the pot for. read more

This is an older Residence Inn that is due for a little updating and in need of Some repairs. Even so, everything was clean and the employees were very helpful and friendly. This goes a long way and is super helpful! The gym is tiny and has limited offerings - 1 working treadmill and 1 elliptical that appeared to be working (didn't try it). No weights. The staff advised me of this at check in and offered a day pass at a local gym (for a $5 fee). Nice touch though after a long day of driving I was happy to just use the treadmill and relax. They offer a nice free breakfast as well, which is a nice and welcome touch. read more

I've been to a few of these, never did they stand out. Always a bit subpar. This one is really great and that means a lot considering I'm more of a Hilton guy. This may change my mind. Fantastic rooms, modern and new. Clean. You have a small kitchen, desk, good water pressure in the shower with excellent temperature control. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Clean pool area. Not much of a fan of it being open in front of the parking lot, but I can't take away for that. The gym has plenty of cardio equipment and a full weight rack. The breakfast is a little lackluster compared to other similar options. All of these hotels have a similar problem of not being able to restock efficiently. After a weekend passes they always run out of anything but skim milk and plain yogurt. All in all great experience. Would stay again. read more

I called a day before getting here to inquire about a two bedroom suite (with two queen beds and a pullout) for 3 adults and 4 kids. I mentioned several times on the phone this is what I needed due to the number of people we would have with us. When I got checked in and to the room, it was a king bed and a pullout couch. This absolutely wasn't going to work. I went back to the desk where I let them know that I needed more beds and was told there was nothing that could be done unless I paid for another room. The manager was in the lobby the whole time hearing this and seeing me concern and did not step in until another adult in my party went looking for him. He again told us the best he could do was let us pay for an additional room. He was very rude and made it seem like this was all our fault and they'd never make this mistake. If there were not rooms I needed available, why was this not made known to me when I called the day before to inquire? Not to mention, they are remodeling and there's no indication of that anywhere. This isn't the end of the world but is nice to know when you book a hotel. We ended up at Homewood Suites by Hilton, down the road, where we were well taken care of and treated with hospitality and care. My husband and I are on an anniversary road trip from NC to Las Vegas. We chose Fort Smith as our stopping point for the night and I made a reservation. I am a Titanium member and had booked the room using points plus cash. 7500 points had been subtracted from my account for this stay. I was also planning to pay approximately $75 for the cash portion of the reservation. When I attempted to check in the young lady at the desk acknowledged my reservation, acknowledged my titanium status, then kept tapping at the keyboard and looking concerned. She said the computer states there were no rooms. She said sometimes the hotel gets overbooked, also said that someone was recently saying that the Bonvoy app sometimes overbooks. While she continued to try to figure the problem out she stated that the lady coming in at 11PM would know what to do. I was not going to hang out for an hour. We are both seniors and were tired. I checked availability at other hotels where I also have loyalty status. I first checked your RI on the app and it shows rooms still available. Another customer arrived and announced that he knew she would have his room because he had confirmation and had checked in hours ago. He also had Bonvoy status, but the computer insisted there were no rooms. Everywhere else I had status was booked unless we wanted to drive another 28 miles down the road or pay quite a bit more. In the end I booked with the Fairfield about a half mile away. Instead of approx $75 this night now cost me over 3 times that. In addition, my account was charged for the 7500 points. That other customer? He walked into the Fairfield about 10 minutes after we did. While I understand that issues happen, I did reach out to the manager, Amber Freeman to inquire how this happened and how it could be made right. I sent time stamped photos with my inquiry showing that while I was standing at the desk hearing that no rooms were available the app was still allowing reservations to be made. Three days later I don't even have an apology. Apparently this property and its manager are not terribly customer focused. Not the treatment I am used to from this brand. Stay elsewhere. read more

I was here in 2018 for a few days and it was wonderful. When I was back again in 2019 for a week, everything went to shit. The food was trash, housekeeping was non-existent. Trash couldn't be bothered to be taken out, 1 set of towels for a week, beds made once and literally wadded up and tossed on the bed. My 6 year old can do better. The room smelled horrible. The fireplace provided does not work. The heat and air is insane, it's either 50 degrees in the room or 900. No in-between. The elevator sounds like it's going to collapse, and will move with the doors open still. Smoke detectors have black rings and mold. Cobwebs growing on top of cobwebs. I was shocked at how bad it had gotten in a year. It was downright disgusting and overpriced. I could have had a better stay at a crack den for half the price. read more

Stayed here for 5 days for business. Comfortable room with couch, desk, dining table, & full kitchen. Convenient location near groceries, restaurants, and bars along Rogers Ave. Free breakfast and 3 dinners through the week. Fitness Center, outdoor lounge, and pool (although it was temporarily closed during my visit). I've always enjoyed staying at a Residence Inn, and this was no exception. This is our second or third time staying at the Residence Inn in Fort Smith. We have stayed before without the pups but this time took them along. I wanted to stay here because of the experience we have had in the past, but things have sadly gone downhill. We could stay due to the COVID but we have stayed on this trip and several Marriott Properties, I am a gold member and well again they have gone downhill. Maybe it's because I was bringing dogs? The room furniture and carpet were so dirty. The beds were comfy and they provided clean towels when we needed them but we were basically on our own I think mostly due to COVID and I am really fine with not having my room cleaned daily, but it just seemed that the quality has just gone downhill since the last time. I hope they read this and look at it as being honest criticism and make some needed changes. I have very mature pups and they just lay around the room, they don't get on the furniture and they don't potty inside. I would think with my status and as much as I travel that they would have been more accommodating. Also the furnace/air con I smelled a gas leak. read more

Had a wonderful experience during our one night stay at Residence Inn. Location, location, location! Located in a small town called Fort Smith, just a few miles from what appeared to be Fort Smith's "downtown" you really aren't far from anything. There are several chain restaurants within a few blocks from the hotel, such as Red Lobster, Chili's, Hooters (I can go on and on...). A Walmart and a few grocery stores are also close by. St. Edward Mercy Medical Center is also right across the street. The room was so spacious it was more than enough for the five of us. Rooms are also equipped with a kitchen with silverware and pots/pans if you wanted to cook and dine in. Nice and quiet and very clean. Couldn't ask for anything more. Free parking and free hot breakfast. Can't go wrong with hash browns and scrambled eggs for breakfast=) You gotta try their waffles. They give you the batter and you make it yourself. Make sure you spray cooking spray or you'll be scraping your waffle off the burner like me. It was a nice experience for a city girl like me. Five stars! read more

We spent one night in Fort Smith on August 5, 2009. The hotel was marvelous; clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our suite was more than large enough for two. We would gladly return. As an aside, we followed directions on our phone as we arrived from the west and the phone routed us through what seemed to be the center of town late at night. The next morning we realized that there was a much more efficient highway route that we could have taken, and this has caused us to rethink following automated directions. No effect on the hotel stay of course, just something we learned that trip. If you are still reading this I salute you. :-) read more

Seems to be a standard Residence Inn. I have stayed here quite a few times. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean. Breakfast is always good. The dinner receptions are pretty good also. The last 3 times I have stayed here. The service has been great. Free shuttle to the airport is good also. No complaints. My room was good sized and spacious. It actually had a full size stove with a oven. Which was a nice touch for once. Gonna request this same room again for next time. read more

Stayed at this Marriott last night and tonight. When we went to breakfast we put on the do not disturb sign. We took the sign down at 9:45 am when we went out for the day. At 2:30 pm we returned and our room was not cleaned, bed not made, trash not picked up and no clean towels. I went to the front desk and inquired as to when they would be cleaning our room. They said they would call housekeeping. At 5:30 pm we returned. The Residence Inn did nothing in our room. When I asked what was going on, she said we put up a do not disturb sign this morning and housekeeping took that as they didn't need to clean our room. I said, people put up a sign before 10:00 am and the Marriott uses that to get out of doing their work? The front desk clerk put her hands up in the air and said that's the rules. I asked for the manager. The front desk clerk said I could talk with the manager on Monday, September 23, 2019. Today is Saturday and we are leaving tomorrow. The front desk clerk said the Marriott would clean our room tomorrow. I'm not sure how that helps me when I'm checking out tomorrow. The front desk clerk handed us clean towels and trash bags. The front desk clerk told me to put the trash in the hallway. In addition to this, the elevator floor and walls were filthy this morning. When I got back at 5:30 pm, the elevator was cleaned. There is no adult supervision and/or management at this Marriott. I am a Marriott Platinum member and have stayed at Marriott Hotels all over the world. Turned into a long term stay hotel. I get it but no housekeeping unless you stay a week. Pool Always seems to have issues. Jaquzi never seems to work. Our room smelled like it was wet throughout the two night stay. Pillows smelled like they haven't been washed. Tub filled during a shower. Breakfast was decent. I had a wonderful experience staying at Residence Inn Ft Smith! The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly, especially Julie. The room was very spacious and even had its own kitchenette. I was traveling with two other people so we used the pull out bed, which was just as comfortable as the actual bed! Also - hands down one of the BEST complimentary breakfasts I have ever had: tons of options, nice cheeses (even brie!), and copious amounts of coffee (much needed). I will never stay here again !!!!!! For one reason only. Employees SMOKING by the front door. My wife and I had to walk through a cloud of blue smoke to get to the lobby. This smoke came from two employees (our front desk clerk being one of them) no more than 3 foot from the front door. Pulled up around 10 pm after 550 miles on the road. Weird entry way, can't turn around. A lot of work trucks and trailers, hard to find parking in a box truck. Factor in the fact that most people are here for an extended stay, fix your parking lot. Here's the kicker: lady gave us some other guys room. He was NOT thrilled when we barged in on his sleep. "Not the first time", either. WHAT?! How? Stop it. Seriously. The room was clean. But can't get any channels. They have all the weirdest amenitiies. Very disappointed. Asked the hotel on more than one occasion to change rooms they would not do it they promised me they would call me when something opened up never did ! I stopped asking because it was clear they didn't care about me nor my experience. Check in was horrid and I heard from other guests something similar. GM outright ignored me and my requests made no effort to correct anything. Room was filthy, disgusting when I arrived the tile was cracked in the bathroom dishes and refrigerator dirty - soiled linens - awful stay. Complaints to management did nothing. Staff who put the food out smoke in the pool area so everyone can see - its gross. who knows if they wash hands. Marriott should pull this license its not up to standards I will go out of my way to not stay here next time. its not worth a star but I cannot post without it . I called to reserve a room on the first floor, I drove 800 miles to find my room on the 3rd floor in the back of the hotel, the next day they moved me to the 1st floor but found the TV did not work. The Mgt. then told me to move to the 2nd floor in the back. I told them to check me out. My wife told me via phone Residence had charged me an extra day. I have stayed here multiple times and am always impressed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and clean. Bathrooms are always nice and fully stocked with fluffy towels.
