The Best Western in Indio was okay. Check in was awkward. We pulled up to the curb to check in and two men were standing in front of the door talking. They never offered to step aside or even acknowledge that we wanted to walk in. My husband had to say something to them and it was like we were inconveniencing them. The desk clerk was an odd duck but friendly. Our keys didn't work when we got to our room. My husband had to go back to registration and we were at the farthest building; a real inconvenience. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the room didn't get cool enough even the thermostat was set to the lowest setting. The place overall just had a weird vibe that I just can't put my finger on. We stayed here for a week in February of 2025. It was definitely a hidden gem. We stay at Best Western hotels for their value and we were not disappointed. Our king room and bathroom were clean. The pool was huge and heated. The hot tub was clean as well. The front desk staff were friendly as well. The breakfast was one of the best at a BW property. I never eat the hot items because I don't like reconstituted eggs, but I really appreciated all of the other choices, including gluten and dairy free. I believe that there was something good for anyone to have a nice breakfast. I liked the fresh oranges, and almond milk with cereal all mornings. While my partner enjoyed the hot items and the yogurt machine. I also appreciated how attentive the employee was watching over the food. She did a great job keeping things clean and restocked. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to other people. read more

The room was super clean and the staff was as friendly as could be. The spa could definitely be cleaner but I know that's a tricky balance. There also were no towels at the pool and the desk only gave us two... I don't know how quickly they get used but seems like it would be an easy thing to keep stocked, especially when it's 90°+ outside. The view is of a big empty dirt lot and the windows reflect this by not reflecting anything at all Overall it's still five stars because it was clean, convenient, and comfortable. I stayed at the Best Western Date Tree a couple of nights ago while on a layover in the area. The front desk people were nice enough, but the hotel is very dated, especially on the inside. My room, while a decent size, hadn't been updated in years. The bathroom is tiny, there was no bathtub, and the shower drain had trouble keeping the water from pooling under my feet - obviously it needed a cleaning. The bed was clean, but not as neatly made as some hotel beds I've seen, with quite a few wrinkles near the top. While most hotels provide two puffy pillows and two "squishy" pillows, the "squishy" pillows at this hotel did not press down at all and were very lumpy and old - frustrating since I do not like sleeping with my neck at a 30 degree angle to my spine. I ended up folding a towel and putting it inside of a pillowcase instead. Furthermore, this hotel does not have a fitness room. They aren't deceptive about this, but for the price I was disappointed that they did not have one. The free breakfast was average quality, similar to a Hampton inn, with premade eggs. Overall, this hotel isn't abysmal, but it definitely needs to be remodeled and add a fitness room - I won't be returning here until they do. read more

Ideally, ask for a room in the third building.Furthest away...The breakfast in the morning was decent and the staff was wonderful.But I do think that the rate of $175 a night was a little bit much for this area. Indio just isn't as nice as palm desert or some of the other areas around, but it has its own charm of seeming like a ghost town! Also of course, it's known for the coachella music festival... There was a huge dead bug in front of one of the rooms near us. So I think the cleaning staff needs to be more on the ball... It was still there three days later. read more

I love this place.Cool staff. I have an annual work trip here. I've never had anything stolen by housekeeping or anything of that nature and the breakfast is consistent. The scenery surrounding the hotel is nice as well. Mountains, palm trees...etc. Smoking and listening to the trees blow is nice...blah blah blah THE GAS STATION IS ONE STREET AWAY! I spent two nights here on a Thursday and Friday in October 2021. When I made reservations via phone, they upgraded me to a suite, which was fabulous. It had a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom with a bathtub jacuzzi. The area appears safe and I did not see any transients or homeless people milling about, such as I've read about at some Motel 6's. The breakfast buffet starts at 5:00 a.m., and there is quite a variety of food, including scrambled eggs, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurts, breads, coffees, etc. Definitely worth checking out! The only negatives were 1. The hotel is across from the train tracks, where freight trains run every two hours or so. Although the trains were noisy, it was not really a deal breaker. 2. Thursday night it sounded like water was running through pipes above me in the ceiling. This lasted all night until 4:30 a.m. the next morning. I have no idea what that was about. Fortunately this happened only Thursday night; otherwise, I probably would have requested a refund and left. read more

This hotel is fine. It's older, and everything in it is older, but it seemed clean enough. A loud train goes by like every hour, so hopefully you're not a light sleeper! The bed was comfy enough. I stayed here during quarantine so nothing was open. They did not state that on their website either. We came from out of state where things were more open so it was very disappointing for my 9 year old to not get to swim in the giant pool. It's pet friendly, with a much cheaper pet rate than many of the other nearby hotels, which is why we picked it. It definitely needs some updating. read more

She told me they aren't responsible for the vending machine. So bet that. I shook it. That's on me. She came over, told me I'm making too much noise. I said "bet, this machine taking my money ima get what I paid for." She said "what you tryna get?" I told her. She said "that's been stuck there for MONTHS" - DAWG months yall. THEN she say "smart people would walk away" to which I replied "the polite thing to do would be to tell me this machine broken when I came to the counter." She tell me the machine ain't broke so, "what's the appropriate method of follow up for this machine taking my money?" She told me it's not her problem "it's a number on the machine" but in far less words which I'll spare yall of. We once again stayed at our go to hotel in Indio. We just love it. Our family grew up in the desert and will get together there once a year. Everyone there is very friendly and accomodating. Two things that are extra special are the suite with full kitchen and the pool! The pool is fantastic, it's a large pool and even better it has a extremely large lounge area around it. So many of the newer hotels have very little room except for room for lounge chairs. They also have barbeques and we have taken advantaged of them! They also have a suite with a full kitchen. We love to rent that also so that could be a gathering place for all of us. We have cooked many meals there even Thanksgiving dinner! Finally, it is very quiet. We were in a room closest to the road but there was virtually no traffic noise. Perhaps good windows? Highly recommend this hotel. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not stay here. The general manager Aaron Segall is the most unprofessional manager I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. He will not return your phone calls, leave his name in his calls or voicemails to you, and does not offer any conflict resolution. Aaron left me an extremely rude voicemail after I had booked a reservation through a third party site that was a "pay at the property" reservation. I have done this multiple times without issue. Aaron then tried to run my card immediately, without making me aware, then called and left me a message stating I needed to pay in full or he would be "forced" to cancel my booking. I called back and left a message that was promised to be returned promptly the following day. No callback or communication for two days until I received a notification that my booking was cancelled. When I called to address this, Aaron would not listen to my concerns and continuously interrupted me and spoke over me until I asked him to let me speak without interrupting me. He also said he "never received my voicemail" which I know is untrue as I confirmed with the front desk staff that the message was there waiting. He also told me that I should call the third party site I went through so he doesn't seem to understand that an issue in communications between a property and a third party site they offer bookings through is not the customers problem. It's theirs. A manager should truly learn how to treat a customer with respect. He then very rudely offered to re-book my reservation if I paid now. I went and ahead and booked and paid for other accommodations as I would never give this person a dime of my money. I would never recommend this hotel SOLELY for the person that their manager presents himself to be. Aaron, if you would have politely explained the situation with professionalism and treated me like a human being, I would have been happy to provide payment like you so rudely demanded instead of requested. Corporate has been contacted and I will continue to take additional steps since I'm aware corporate will only be sending my complaint to you. read more

We needed a pet friendly hotel and found this gem! This is not a fancy hotel but is relaxed and comfy. The rooms are clean and spacious with plenty of room for dogs to relax with their humans. The grounds allowed plenty of grassy areas for walking dogs with waste bag stations provided. The hotel is located in an area that felt safe for walking even after dark. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar opened early at 5:00 AM with lots of choices. Although the food was not restaurant quality the variety was adequate. Some other reviews mentioned the train. Truly the sound from the train was no more than a low rumble, was infrequent and there was no train horns, so not intrusive at all. I would highly recommend this hotel for those traveling with dogs and we, definitely, will be back. Thank-you to the Best Western staff for making our visit comfy. read more

Stayed here for a fraternity formal in May and was very disappointed upon arriving. Don't know how it's called a hotel because it gives off major motel vibes. The room wasn't nice and also looked right out to the dingy parking lot. There was nothing at all nearby to eat, unless you count a McDonald's down the sketchy street, and nothing to do. The "continental breakfast" pretty much only consisted of granola bars and packaged coffee cake. Glad we didn't get bed bugs but that's about it. read more

Paid for an extra night since we got here late but after seeing the pool this morning I wish I hadn't. Mini vacay totally ruined I even used the pool net myself to try and scrape out the stuff lady working didn't seem concerned that I was netting it myself. Soooo many mixed thoughts about this place. My wife and I wanted a little getaway and being on a budget, I chose this spot because it had amazing reviews, it was affordable compared to other hotels around, and it looks like a nice/decent spot. We pull up and realized that it wasnt what we thought it would be. From the street looking at the hotel, your expectations of what you thought you might walk into drops from 10 to 1 and you're like... whoa, really? THIS is the hotel that has all these great reviews?! So we go in and it looks like an old folks home! EVERYONE around is literally 65 yrs old and older. I mean people walking around with oxygen tanks and things connected to their nose so breathe, (shivers)... moving on. Luckily, we saw another family by the pool and had to celebrate cause we didnt want to have the notion that we were staying at an old folks home lol. So now to the nitty gritty (why is it that I always have the urge to say this with an Indian accent?! lol) - Our check-in was great and easy. We got in and had access to our room very easily. The room was spacious and clean. Oddly enough, right above our wall air conditioner there was a little gap that light was shining through, so it made me wonder how much hot air is coming through, but our room stayed cool the entire time we were there. The cool thing is that almost all the rooms were pretty close to the pool. Its a short walk down there. The pool itself was actually a really big pool for a hotel this size! The following day we drove out to Vegas and stayed at the Palace Station and we went to the pool and were like "Really???!! Best Westerns pool is bigger than a Las Vegas pool for a hotel that has 300+ rooms??!!" Its insane. The pool area was cool, nice and chill. The other cool thing is that they dont really have pool hours. If I remember correct, the pool was open 24hrs! So you want to go for a dip at 12am or 1am, jump on in! Most hotels close their pool at 10pm, which totally sucks. Then I started thinking to myself - Jack... do you think they have the 24hr open pool policy cause 90% of their guests are usually asleep by 8pm and probably wouldnt even use the pool at that time????!!! LOL whooo knows.... The Jacuzzi was fairly small and kind of dirty. It had a bunch of little things in it... but whatever. We still used it. They also offer pool towels (that are as old as I am) for you to use when you're by the pool. Though we went during spring break(ish) time, the hotel was pretty empty and the pool had like 5 people around it. I personally enjoy that cause I dont like crowds at all, but if you're looking for a pool party, loud, crazy type of place, this is NOT the place for you (unless YOU are bringing the party here! lol -- which I was telling my wife, because this place is so empty, it would be such a perfect place to bring a bunch of close family together and just enjoy!). The cherry on top of our visit is that I asked the front desk if we could extend our stay by an hour or two (especially considering that they dont really have many guests) and they were kind enough to extend it by two hours!! I was blown away! (Unfortunately we left early cause we randomly decided to leave and go to Vegas). BUT before leaving to Vegas I had breakfast, which was complimentary, and they have an awesome selection for their breakfast! They had a waffle maker, which you can make your own "BW" waffles, they had eggs, sausage, toast, tons of fruits, yogurt and nuts (so you can make your own parfait), bagels and cream cheese (and more that I just dont remember). I have to say for a complimentary breakfast, it was more extensive than any other place I've stayed. Overall, their staff is very nice! The place is clean (with upgraded bathrooms)! The pool is BIG! My biggest complaint is for the owners selling out people's health to make a buck by installing a gwen tower on the property. If you don't know what that is look into it yourself. We won't be staying there again because of that tower. What a cute little hotel! We decided on a last-minute Christmas Day adventure of driving out to Palm Desert to visit grandparents. On the drive, I was tasked with finding a hotel room in the $100 range. I called this one first, seeing the rating, that it was a mid-range, trusted brand, and fewer dollar signs than other hotels in the area. Toni responded and quoted me $125, then asked if I had any military or AAA discounts, and then told me that because it was Christmas Day, she could give me the room for $108. Score! We decided to just book it and not waste time trying to compare. Toni was wonderful made the reservation and the check-in super fast and easy. We had our 9-year-old with us, and after making him endure the long car ride, we appreciated being able to get to our room quickly. She drew us a map of the complex, wrote the times for free breakfast, and showed us the collection of DVDs to borrow (we took advantage of that and watched Beetlejuice, but wished they had some Christmas movies!). It was also cute that they had water cups and free dates out on the counter to sample. Toni gave us toothbrushes and toothpaste, since we hadn't prepared for this trip at all, and little bags of snacks. The hotel consists of 3 2-story buildings with a heated, 24/7 pool and Jacuzzi. We found easy parking next to our middle building, and also liked that it was well-lit and safe. The room was clean and modern. You can log in to your Netflix account from the TV and watch movies that way, too! There was also a refrigerator, and free Wifi with no password. We slept comfortably! Free breakfast is from 5:30-9:30 AM, and it was one of the best free hotel breakfasts we've seen. They offered eggs, Canadian bacon, and potatoes, cheese and salsa, biscuits and gravy, a make-your-own waffle station with all of the toppings, pastries, fruits, cereal and granola, Greek yogurt cups, portable boxes of soy and almond milk, and coffee and juice. We were very happy with the offerings, and we would have sat outside on the cute patio if it weren't December. We were so glad we stayed here and we thought this was an excellent deal for $108! My only complaints were A) I wish the lobby/breakfast bar had a restroom; you have to use your hotel room restroom only, and B), they're pretty limited on toiletries. We have stayed in Best Western properties in several states in the western US. This trip we were traveling from San Francisco to Phoenix. Have done that trip half a dozen times, normally stopping in Palm Springs. This time we changed it up and tried Indio. What a great property! For the price, we had a spacious room that was clean and well equipped. Large refrigerator, and a comfy bed. The staff is to be commended for their friendliness, and information they provided. There is a lovely pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, we did not have our swimsuits. The cherry on top was the free breakfast. It was the largest variety of food and beverages we have ever seen at a BW. Cook-your-own waffles and pancakes, a yogurt machine, coffees, juices, bagels, fruits, etc., in addition to the usual scrambled eggs, sausage, and fried potatoes. And those foods were tasty...like really fresh. We will definitely make this BW our new regular stop! read more

Let me be very clear with you. I want to start by telling you about a hotel I stayed at in Las Vegas called MGM Grand. It was a few weeks before this Indio trip. At the MGM Grand you get to pay a $40 a day resort fee on top of your room charge. At the MGM Grand you get to be thrown out of the pool at 6pm. At the MGM Grand the people who work there really seem to hate you. At the MGM Grand you have to walk several miles from your room to anywhere, including the pools. You get searched before coming into the pool area. God forbid if you have a drink of your own you have to finish it by the trash cans. Drinks at the pool at the MGM Grand are like $20 for a shot of trash tequila or $15 for a can of Bud Light. The rooms have no coffee maker at the Grand (walk six miles to the Starbucks downstairs through the casino in the morning before you even have a sip of coffee wtf shit is this), the fridge is a mini bar and if you take things out they charge you. If you want to eat at the MGM Grand be prepared to pay at least $40 for your meal and wait at least 30 mins to sit down. Why is a review about the Best Western Date Palm Indio so hung up on the MGM Grand Las Vegas? Let me tell you what Best Western has - A large swimming pool open 24/7. 24/7. You can go swimming at 4 in the morning if you want. Look at the stars. It's hot in Indio in the summer. The pool is cool. It's chilly in the winter. The pool is heated. You can take your own drinks to the pool. Shit. Take a cooler full of drinks. Drink in the pool man. Drink two drinks at once in the pool. Do whatever you like. You can take your own BBQ and grill it on the grill at the pool. Take all your own pool floatie whatever you want to the pool. Take a bluetooth speaker to the pool. Blast "Despacito" all night. Whatever you want. There are towels there at the pool for you. There are palapas. There are relaxing lounge chairs. There is no "resort" fee. The pool is right there. Like right next to the rooms. 24/7 (did I mention?). You walk less than 1 minute and you are at the pool. The people who work there are cool. And locals. One dude has worked there his whole life. In your room you have a giant empty fridge and freezer for whatever you want. Put in your milk, beer, eggs, salsa, whatever. You have a coffee maker in your room. With coffee. Included! In the dining area of the hotel they have 24/7 coffee, fresh fruits and hot chocolate. In the dining area of the hotel they have a free breakfast. Free. And not just some old bananas and Chex cereal. Like scrambled eggs, yogurt bar, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, bananas and other fresh fruit, coffee, tea, milk, hot chocolate, water. Free. No resort fee. Every morning till 9:30. Yes take your things to the room it's ok. Pile up the eggs and then go back to your room and sit there like a happy slob in the a/c and watch Law & Order. Go get some more during the commercial. Put some ketchup or Tabsaco on them. Whatever you want man. In your room you have a DVD player and a big TV with lots of channels. The lobby has DVDs to take to your room for free. Not a lot of kid movies but people with kids already have that stuff piled high on vacation anyway. Watch the Wrestler man. It's a tale of redemption. Free. The lobby has free dates. Who the eff gives you free dates anymore. Dates! It's the Date Palm Inn man. Date Palm Inn. WIFI - FREE. No resort fee. Parking is right next to your room. You walk ten feet and you're inside. The landscaping is badass. Cacti, desert plants, cool trees. There's a freight train track you can watch the 200 car trains go by as you sip your $1.99 Tecate in the pool all night long. Indio is awesome. Mostly because of this hotel. And the weather. Edit - Forgot about the microwave in the room! A microwave! Also a hot tub!! read more

I really like the free breakfast. They give you a bunch of vouchers for the amount of days you are staying. I wouldn't call it a continental breakfast either. You make your own waffleswith the waffle thingy. Regular or banana nut. Scrambled eggs with ham. Cooked eggs with or without the yolk. Biscuits and gravy tasted kinda weird. Pastries, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruits, hard boiled eggs, ice tea, lemmon aid, all types of juices on tap and coffee. Cant beat that with a stick. Unless your late! Breakfast ends at 9:30 so be there or be square. One of the two washers broke while doing our laundry so one hour turned into two hours of doing laundry. No big deal. Main thing we got our laundry done. I just love coming back to the hotel and everything is cleaned and the beds are made just spoils the shirt out of me. Crashing with the A/C on at 69 degrees is awesome. I'm taking advantage of this A/C while I can. Definitely would stay here again. Absolutely no signs of bed bugs either :) read more

Ohhh-kay. So we booked this hotel by mistake. Hubby was participating in the Tour de Palm Springs and somehow thought this was close by...it was actually 30 minutes away from the event. Anyways, we stayed here during Valentine's weekend from Friday to Sunday. When we arrived here around 8:00p (Friday traffic!!!), it was pretty dark everywhere. Coming from the I-10, we drove a while on Indio Boulevard, which was deserted at this time. Check-in was easy. Our room was at the end of Building 2 on the second floor, and we were able to find parking nearby. Our room was pretty clean and spacious for us and our 2 kids (kids 12 and under stay free with parents). There was a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron/ironing board, and hair dryer (a small one so may want to bring your own if you have a thick mane). Free WiFi, and the pool was open 24 hours. Vending machines were in the hallway so we were able to get extra bottles of water for the road. Bonus 1: Complimentary breakfast every morning 6:30-9:30a in the main building (Medjool Room of Building 1). When we were there, there were make-your-own waffles (regular and blueberry batter; takes 2-1/2 minutes on waffle maker), eggs, sausages, potatoes, biscuits with gravy, yogurt (and granola?), hard boiled eggs... Also coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and passion guava juice. It wasn't the best, but it sure made our mornings a lot easier. Bonus 2: Free DVD rental in the main building near the lobby. Just grab the case of the movie that you want to watch, take it to the front desk, and the staff will give you the disk. Back at the room, put the disk in the DVD player, change the line on the TV, and voila, it's easy peasy family movie night. Not a huge selection, but we found a family movie that we all enjoyed. Although the location isn't in the best area (pretty much nothing to do nearby and shady night time area further down Indio), it was completely booked by Saturday. This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's a desert oasis! A great big pool, clean and comfortable rooms, really nice shower pressure, and the best breakfast I've ever had at a "standard" hotel. They had a machine that makes little pancakes, a waffle machine, a yogurt machine, a hot chocolate machine, a juice machine, a coffee machine, fresh chopped fruit for your cereal/yogurt, bananas/apples/oranges, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and they even had soy and almond milk for those people who don't drink cow's milk. I'm sure I've forgotten something but you get the picture - the spread was amazing! This is a really nice place for a weekend getaway. read more
