Stayed for two nights mid February for a wedding in Coachella. This was one of the closest hotels to thy venue. Very clean and well maintained. The rooms were a bit on the smaller side. Booked this hotel because we wanted to stay overnight before heading to Indian Wells Tennis Garden the next day for the BNP Paribas Open. Were luckily upgraded to a suite from a one king. Room was pretty good. This is a fairly newer hotel, so the decor was pretty nice. Suite was just a bigger room that didn't have a door separating the bedroom from the living area. Very comfortable bed! Bathroom is nice, especially with the big walk-in shower. Staff here were friendly, although it was basically limited to check-in since we got there so late. Did get some free waters because of my status. Location is right off the freeway and is next to some stuff. But I mean, we definitely didn't come all this way to just go to KFC or Jack in the Box. Did take advantage of the free breakfast though! It was pretty standard fare with eggs and your usual, nothing particuarly special. Parking is free, which is not a guarantee with a lot of hotels these days. Overally, it got the job done for staying overnight. Better than the previous Fairfield Inn that I stayed at in Palm Desert because it is a newer hotel. read more

We asked the front desk to send maintenance & the young lady at the desk told us, to get dressed & use the lobby.. Well, we're paying for a functional room... and I've been a Marriott club member for over 30yrs.. Sooo I asked her to please extend our check out, she replied til when? I'm insulted.., instead of her saying " No prob, she asked me "until when? ... Hold on, not only are we inconvenienced with no toilet use, but we're being told to use bathroom downstairs til the maintenance gets here.. apparently they have no maintenance on staff at 9am working hours!!! I thought this was place was pretty good for a Fairfield. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good amount of options for breakfast and the view from the pool is pretty breathtaking with the mountains in the backdrop. Gym is open 24 hours which is a plus, plenty of on site parking. Pool has limited hours. For breakfast there was egg, bacon or sausage (not both), cereal, yogurt, fruits and oatmeal with a dozen topping options. Had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. read more

No hot water for my morning shower and the clocks were an hour off. They never changed the clocks.

The hotel has a great location. We were there for two days for a tournament. Unfortunately, our room (room 121) had too many plumbing issues. The shower tub would not drain. Even after repairs, the problem did not go away. Very surprising that basic functionality of a hotel room was not working. Elevator was SKETCHY, I ended up taking the stairs most of the time because it made these really loud noises (never heard these noises form an elevator before) and took about 10-15 seconds to open the door once stopped. Normal people might be like hey no big deal but, I am not a fan of elevators sooooo stairs it is! front guest service was not having it. She was just not happy to be at work. Didn't thank us for being Marriott rewards members like every other Marriott does. Definitely wasn't excited we were there. Didn't even tell us how to get to our room till I asked "and where is it we're going?" "Oh, up the elevator to the left". Did she direct us to the elevator? No lol. Surprised to see the ratings because this was the absolute best stay at a hotel I've had in awhile! The room was lovely, the amenities were great, and the staff were kind & caring. The hotel itself is nice, clean, and in a great location near multiple stores/restaurants/food within walking distance. They had WiFi, good TV channels, great AC, our rooms were cleaned and taken care of. They also offered breakfast every morning which we enjoyed and it lasted a good amount of time. I would definitely come back here when I want to visit this area. We stayed for Coachella and our shuttle stop was 10-15 min walking distance and super close to Coachella. I'm extremely satisfied and happy with this hotel, their staff and our stay! read more

My husband and myself, and some other family members stayed at this hotel. We were going to tennis tournaments in Indian Wells. Was a little difficult to fine as our navigation system took us different ways each time. The people at the desk were very nice and friendly and we had no issues checking in. my only two complaints were, one you could hear the freeway noise, and if I knew I would've asked to be moved. The other was the toilet was low. I did like the nice walk-in shower and the bed was comfortable. We didn't watch any TV as by the time we got to the room we were tired. One day we ate breakfast as it was part of the room deal. The girl that was there was extremely helpful. I wish there was more fruit and a little bit more variety. Stayed at the Fairfield for the past two days, and it has been a pleasant experience, especially compared to the nearby Best Western that we tried a few nights ago. This Fairfield is modern, smells nice, has a large fitness room, is clean, has comfortable beds and soft pillows, but has some average staff, in terms of "service with a smile" and showing initiative, several weights missing from the rack in the gym, and an average free breakfast. However, they did offer complementary waters, which was really nice! Most hotels leave you to either buy water or drink the tap water. I would stay here again! read more

We were on a last minute road trip to Gilbert, AZ, and was really tired after 3 hours of driving. We booked Fairfield in Indio as a rest stop for the evening. We were traveling with our dog, and I made sure we booked a hotel that's pet friendly. What they failed to say while we were booking, is that they charge an additional $100 per stay per dog, and a $20 fee per night. I am reasonable, and understand sometimes dogs can result in damages and cleaning. But I was troubled before this was not disclosed prior to our check in. Since it was a super last minute book, by the time we arrived at the hotel, we also no longer have the option to cancel. No one likes to be stuck without options. We tried to communicate with management to see if they have any solutions, the management are off for the weekend and is nowhere to be found. I stay with Marriott all the time, and for the most part I like the chain. But this time, I was not happy with the solution. They completely screwed up our reservations.... complete nightmare. after making our reservations 4 months in advance they overbooked and told us they did not have rooms for us(we reserved 2) no manager on site no help given they routed us to their sister hotel 20 min.further away we got there and they did not have 2 rooms available only 1 room with one bed. As an Elite Platinum member I believe employees should always provide the best customer service to your potential guests no matter the position or field that you decide to work in. Ruby (front desk) is probably one of the worst employees that this Fairfield Inn can possibly have. As I approached the lobby entrance to check in she refused to do an early check in. For staters she not even paying attention to the words that are coming out of my mouth because she's too busy making goodie bags when things like that should be done else where so guests can have a better experience and the employee is giving the fullest attention to the guest in front of them. The parking lot was a ghost town with maybe 7-8 cars within their property at 1:00 pm and she told me she was not able to check me in because they had a busy night so she will text me when the room is available since there isn't any rooms at the moment. I immediately went back to my car but this customer service didn't sit well and now I was uncomfortable staying here. I walked back inside to speak to a manager and she said the manager isn't available. So I asked if I can speak to a supervisor and she said there was no management available today. I don't understand how could there be no management available and they are allowing this girl disrespect their potential guests with her poor customer service. I had no choice but to cancel my reservation and take my business elsewhere. For crying out loud it's the Fairfield Inn but Ruby needs to get it together! read more

As an Elite Platinum member of many years, I was disappointed with the "value" presented by this Fairfield Inn. The staff was friendly upon check-in but the overall cost for this hotel is very high, $270/nt. This is not a full-service hotel nor a resort spot by any means. It is located behind a very industrial/retail area and is not particularly scenic. The room was clean but outdated in the bathroom and sleeping area. The included breakfast was very rudimentary with prepackaged items and powdered eggs. I stayed on a Monday night and there were many rooms available and outside of any local event. I will continue to shift my business over to IHG hotel sites as they deliver better value for the short stays. read more

Had a smooth and pleasant stay here on a Thursday night. I was upgraded to a suite and found that the lobby, dining, and guest rooms were all modern and clean. The TVs, beds, linens, and bathroom fixtures were all better than I was expecting. Breakfast buffet was complimentary and included basic eggs, sausage, bread selection, cereal, fruit, and oatmeal. We chose to stay here because it was close to Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs. You can see this location right from the I-10 and it is located in an area that is being developed. The staff checking us in was working solo but she was very friendly and courteous. There were people checking in ahead of me and after me and she was consistantly smiling throughout. The room we got was on the 3rd floor and it was very nice but not very big, but not a big deal. It was clean and everything worked. The only thing I didn't like was the shower door. The way it was aligned, water from the shower head would splash against the opening, causing water to drain out onto the bathroom floor. Both nights I had to use the bath mat to soak up the water run off. Part of the reason for the 2 star rating is that this location was filled both nights I was there and throughout my visit, only one elevator was working, which would be a super big problem if this were a much larger hotel. The wallpaper in the hallway by the elevator looked like someone used something caustic to clean it and caused it to discolor. The fitness room was spacious with room for several guests to work out at once. There was a stationary bike, treadmill, dumbbells up to 50lbs, and some medicine balls. The fitness center also ajoins the outdoor pool so you could go for a swim after your workout. The breakfast area was very large with many tables and chairs. There were a good selection of fruits, pasteries, hot and cold cereal, eggs, sausages, toast and waffles. Of course, regular and decaf coffee and a selection of teas. Overall, it was a good stay and hope some of the things I pointed out could be corrected. read more

The property is newer but has been poorly maintained. The management has minimal customer service skills & doesn't appear to care when or if things get fixed. The showerhead in the room was not working [stuck on some kind of power water mode] upon 9:00 p.m. check-in & the issue was promptly reported to management, who stated it would be addressed. The next morning rolls around & the front desks again states the matter will be fixed. The evening rolls around & the shower is still not fixed & "no room change available". The front desk finally sends maintenance & the showerhead is replaced. The air conditioner worked poorly & the bed was similar to a large overused cheap pillow. I am Marriott Elite & have seen the Marriott properties do much better .... skip this hotel. read more

The property itself is very new. It's nice to stay at a place that hasn't had too many heads on the pillows or posteriors planted upon the bathroom throne. So I thought. There wasn't hot water. Even turned all the way to the red it hadn't been heated enough to make steam. Hot water seems essential for sanitary concerns, but there was no danger of scalding yourself in this bathroom. It's very warm, but hot hot. Probably a health code violation. The air conditioner was a disaster. I even let the property manager know in hopes to have it repaired. Of my three nights of stay I had zero restful nights because of the Nargles banging pots and pans inside the air conditioning unit. It really was obnoxious. I would have turned it off and tried to open the window, but it was raining. You WILL hear people walking above you. Ask for the fourth floor. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They deserve all the stars. Even though this is a new property, it wasn't a comfortable stay. Just try rolling your suitcase across the floors... you're going to build up some forearms like Popeye in no time! read more

The room was ok, not particularly up to the Fairfield's I have been to. The outlets all didn't let you plug computer or phone in-the plug would slip out. The noise of the fan in the room sounded like an airplane taking off. All night long. They don't/ won't clean room until you leave. We asked for towels to be put by door the next day. That never happened. This place needs an update. Things don't work in the breakfast area. Toaster, waffle maker. The bagels were hard, eggs were soggy. read more

After a 7 hour travel to a family wedding we opted to stay at this hotel on 12-11-21 (room 217 ). Horrible horrible experience. The room was clean and nice as it should be .. but the guests down the hall were partying, drinking . swearing up and down the hall, puked in the elevator , smoking weed and the front desk did nothing about it. We had to listen to all ruckus until 4:30am. So much for guest comfort and satisfaction. An expensive night with no rest. I'm sure anyone staying on the 2nd floor on 12-11-21 must have suffered the same fate. read more

Here is a newly built hotel in the middle of nowhere. Ok, I lied - this place is located nearby several eateries and stores. In fact, you actually need to enter the parking lot of a shopping center in order to arrive at the hotel. If you follow your GPS directions, you won't have any trouble finding the place. It is also situated nearby the freeway from where you can easily see the hotel. Other than the daily free breakfast, free parking, and small swimming pool, this is a no frills hotel. Rooms come with a microwave and mini fridge, but there is no restaurant nor room service. If you find yourself hungry when all of the nearby restaurants are closed, you are limited to choosing from the small selections of junk food for sale at their mini market in the lobby (candy, chips, jerky, ice cream, refreshments, TV dinners, etc.). They do have a bar, but if you are like me, who likes to enjoy cocktails at poolside with music, you will need to wait for them to open around 5 PM...and drink in silence or to the screams of any kids jumping in and out of the water. Actually, I don't even know if they would allow you to bring any drinks out there, but, really, their swimming pool area lacks that fun air. You are better off going elsewhere to enjoy drinks under the sun. We did not notice any noise from the freeway and felt very safe and comfortable in our rooms...until the next morning when I found a man's dirty underwear on the floor, under my bed! Our comfort level immediately went down the drain as we were extremely disgusted and, quite frankly, traumatized by our finding. Clearly, housekeeping does not perform a thorough job. I could not even help to wonder if our bed sheets were even changed. Minutes later at check-out, I reported the matter to the Operations Manager, Melissa Ramirez, who was very apologetic and offered us snacks from their mini market. As I was leaving, she assured me at least three times that I would hear back from her later that same night about crediting my rewards account with points to further remedy the situation. Ms. Ramirez's call never came that Sunday night...nor on Monday. In fact, I heard nothing until I reached out to the Corporate Office to inform them of my horrible experience. In the end, I did receive my points, but cannot help but wonder if it was only because I sent a complaint to Corporate. Obviously, we won't be returning here. read more

Some of our family members tried to convince us to get an AirBnb this weekend to "save money" but as well all know, AirBnbs charge for everything, down to a wrapper left on the floor. My husband and I are so glad we stayed here, it was a very nice stay. Sure, it's an inn and suites. It has your basic necessities, it's VERY clean (smells good too), and the room was very spacious! The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of counter space, and the closet was nice. The hotel is right next to the freeway, so if you're on the south side you can definitely hear the cars passing. But if the AC is on you can't hear it. It's honestly not even a complaint, just something we noticed. We have family out here and will definitely be staying here again. It's relatively affordable (cheaper than the resorts, with rooms that are just as nice and comfortable), and the staff was very friendly. read more

The hotel greeted us with some nice complimentary brownies to celebrate being the 1000th Marriott hotel. However, for a hotel chain that has made 1000 hotels, they did a terrible job designing this place. The wind was howling non-stop and very loudly all night. It was so loud that you could hear it over the sound of the TV, and it was especially unbearable when we were trying to sleep at night. The staff was friendly and tried to help but they said the hotel was completely booked so there wasn't much they could do. They gave us earplugs, which was a nice sentiment, but those earplugs were honestly just a waste of plastic because they could not even block out the sound of my friend whispering from the other side of the room. So alas... Sleeping was rough last night. The management and engineers should really research ways to divert wind so this doesn't happen to future customers. Know where you're building and factor that into your design. The wind is not the only problem. You can clearly hear people walking and talking outside of your door and above you, as well as the sound of the freeway outside. If you want a quiet weekend away, I would not recommend coming here. The staff was very friendly though, and the interior is clean and nicely decorated. The hotel has a nice breakfast spread of waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, grapes, eggs, sausages, coffees, teas, and cereals. The complimentary breakfast is open from 6:30 to 10 AM. Overall, I would give this hotel one star, but ended up giving two because of the service. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here unless you aren't bothered by noises all around you. Your vacation will probably end up becoming more stressful and less enjoyable because of the noise. read more

I have never left a 1 star hotel review before but I can certainly confirm everything said about it in other reviews is true. 4pm check in is ridiculous, 3 people on reception doing nothing, very few cars in the lot so why can you not check folks in? Response from reception is rude and very uncaring. Coffee pots both mornings of my stay are empty while 3 people sit in reception doing nothing. Golden rule of hospitality; check your coffee pots every 20mins at breakfast time! The night before I leave I ask for a 1hr extended check out, I am told that I can only request on the morning of departure. I request again at 7:30am as I have an early appointment and am told that only the manager can grant any kind of late checkout and he won't be in till between 9am and 10am. What hotel manager doesn't empower their staff to allow a 1hr extended check out time? While the hotel is still fairly new and nice looking the whole attitude from the staff is very negative and rude; possibly a reflection of their management. Avoid this hotel. With all the options in the area, this is a pretty solid choice for the price. Our room was very clean and comfy, which you'll find comfier after roaming the nearby desert and parks. There's a pool too to cool off in the triple digit heat. WiFi was great for working and doing Skype calls, even on the basic package. Plenty of outlets in the room for laptops, tablets, and phones - even a universal cable in case you forgot yours. The service is warm and helpful here. Shout out to Melissa at the front desk for helping us with late check outs and other housekeeping asks, but this extends to the rest of the staff; they're the kind of crew to smile and say hello while passing in the hallway. Breakfast is great too, especially considering we're still in a weird pandemic world. Fresh fruit, stations are regularly stocked and cleaned. Even a nice little patio in case you'd like to eat outside. Location wise, it's still a good hour to Joshua Tree, but there's still a lot of desert to see and things to do around here. It's in a good spot next to plenty of food, gas, and a Walmart to stock up for whatever adventure you're up to. read more

Early June, 2023 my home was being fumigated and I couldn't spend the night coupled with the fact I was in Los Angeles ALL day including a business dinner. By thr time I was rolling back into town, it was 10:45 pm-ish and I booked a room via Expedian here for $150.00. I arrived at approximately 11:15 pm completely exhausted, got my room key, went upstairs, washed my face and brushed my teeth and fell into bed only to be up at 5 am to get ready for work. I left around 6 am and that was that. The following day, on the 8th, I checked my bank account only to discover that they charged me an additional $250.00 on my debit card! I called them that day clearly upset and asked why they took this money. Their response was "BECAUSE YOU WERE SMOKING IN THE ROOM". I told the woman on the phone flat out, "Listen carefully...I DON'T SMOKE"!!!! I haven't smoked a cigarette in over 12 years! I told her, I spent a total of 5 hours in your hotel and if I did smoke, I surely could wait until I got outside! She advised me that housekeeping found an empty pack in the trash can and my response was, so you conclude that I smoked because of that? I told her housekeeping was not great because in the morning, I found the empty pack on the floor by the night stand and I picked it up and threw it in the trash can! She advised me she was NOT going to change her mind and the charge will stay! I am not preparing to take the hotel and approx. 7 employees to court as I am suing them for 10x the amount...$2.500.00. I stilll cannot believe they wouldn'y reverse the charge and give the the customer the benefit of the doubt whether they believe me or not! I will not stay at a Marriott ever again. read more

Clean hotel and that's why I'm giving them 1-star. Got to first room and ac was making a horrible sound. Asked to transfer to a different room, which they accommodated. Pool area was nice but trash and used towels spread around with no one else using the facility. Second room was fine for the first hour then the ac started making horrible noises each time it turned on. I called front desk on four different times to ask for maintenance. No one ever answered the phone. Im talking I let that phone ring upwards of 30 times and no one answered each time. Finally decided to walk down and get assistance. Front desk said they don't have maintenance on site Until the morning. No crowds in the lobby. They just didn't answer the phone. Had they done so a few hours ago, perhaps I could have gotten maintenance to repair ac??? She told me she could switch my room ... again. Uhm no. I just want to go to bed and sleep ... with an ac that doesn't wake me up every time it cycles on. Ugh. Limited selection in the "market" and price gouging going on (expected the latter). Literally two frozen dinners to choose from (same flavor). Thank goodness this place is pretty well located to drive to a restaurant or fast food. Costco is just a 10-minute drive away. Shower has red mold/mildew all around the exterior base and inside the interior base so house keeping isn't doing a very good job. Also tons of confetti on the carpet - I'm thinking they don't really vacuum the rooms, or at least not this room. Comfy mattress and pillows thanks to Marriott corporate. I'm gonna buy one of these for myself as I've loved these mattresses and pillows for many years. WiFi sucks. Can't stream or zoom on the free plan, which forces you to pay for the faster service. Television channels are extremely limited, thus the desire to stream something for entertainment. Was at a Doubletree just last week and their tv options included over 100 channels. No need to upgrade the internet service. Wish Marriott would get it together like Hilton in this regard. Overall, choose a different hotel. There is a residence inn a couple of miles away, if you're looking for a budget type of stay (is $150/night a budget hotel?). For a higher dollar room in the middle of the summer at 105° temps outside, go to the renaissance or a nice resort to have better service and amenities. :( :( :( Not a happy customer tonight. Rude staff! I would give 0 stars if I could!!! Unless this is your only option I would avoid this place. Claims to be pet friendly but yet they had a problem with my dog barking *which was very minimal barking. Idk... maybe it's not a good idea to give us the room directly in front of the elevators where ppl are gonna be constantly passing by... which might trigger a dog to bark. Either way, dogs are going to bark every now and then & that shouldn't be a problem! Especially if you are "pet friendly", what do you expect? It's not like he was up barking all night long. Originally we booked to stay 3 nights Fri-Mon. However, Sat afternoon we received a phone call from a staff member. She tells us that my boyfriend was not on the reservation (which makes no sense cuz we literally booked for 3 adults) and also, that he was no longer welcome to stay after "being rude" to the lady at the front desk. **He had simply gone to the front desk to ask a question about the pet policy because we were never told anything about it during the check in. After the lady at the front desk gave my boyfriend attitude, his reply back to her offended her apparently. While on the phone with the staff member who called us, we asked her if we could check out early and be refunded for the nights that we weren't going to stay (Since they did not want my boyfriend staying there). We were told by her that because this incident happened after check out time @ 11am, we would not be refunded for that 2nd night (Sat). However, she told us that we could get refunded for the 3rd night if we checked out the next day by 11am (Sun). Okay cool, so we made the choice to stay the rest of Saturday and check out Sunday (a day earlier then originally planned). We did not feel welcomed AT ALL! They said there were complaints about my dog barking and also, we were under the impression that they did not want my boyfriend to stay per the phone call we received on Sat. So, come Sunday morning and we go to check out...GET THIS...they end up charging us for all 3 nights even though at this point in time we had only stayed 2 nights. Confused by this, we asked why we were being charged for 3 nights after only staying for 2. We were told by the staff at the front desk (who said she was the same girl that we talked to on the phone the day prior) that because we had "pre-booked" our stay online that they would not be refunding us for the 3rd night. HUH? She never said any of that on the phone call prior! On the phone she had told us that we would be able to be refunded for the night we weren't going to stay. So why did this change all of a sudden? At this point it was VERY frustrating because it seemed they didn't want us staying there (we were literally told by staff on the phone that my boyfriend was not welcomed to stay in the hotel), but at the same time they were refusing to refund us for the night that we were no longer going to stay???? Needless to say, the staff members we dealt with here have serious attitude and no sense of customer service. Seems like they cared more about trying to be right rather then trying to help or make the situation better. Not there to provide a good experience for the guest and would rather cause unnecessary drama. !!!!Not to mention that when we initially arrived to our room we found dirty socks on the floor and the whole room in general seemed like it was not properly cleaned. !!!! read more
