They don't give any shampoo or soap there was drug paraphanelia in the nightstand drawer in my room from previous guest. I'll never stay there again I would rather sleep in my car or ona bus bench. For what you'd expect compared to what you get for the price this is easily a 5 star for me. Most motels you'd stay at in their price range are about what you'd expect, and here is no different in many ways. There are a few rough edges, a few cigarette holes in blankets/sheets, some worn corners on furniture, etc. However where they go above and beyond. For one the rooms we stayed in (2 rooms) were surprisingly very clean, no bugs, dust, funky smells, etc. One room was very cute with the walls painted to look like a beach getaway. The other room wasn't decorated, but it was their handicapped suite. The handicapped suite is setup to be very accommodating for a disabled person. There's ample room for a wheelchair/walker to move around, and the entire bathroom is essentially like one walk in shower, nothing to step over/trip on. My only real critique of the handicapped suite is this. For the room, the bed is a bit tall and can be difficult for someone with mobility issues to get in/out of. A ramp/stool/stair might be a good inclusion. For the bathroom would be two things. 1. There's a very sturdy shower seat, however there's no ledge, table, etc to put your toiletries, the sink edge has minimal space, but not enough. 2. The shower head really should be detachable, many people with mobility issues prefer having a shower head they can hold and maneuver around, or lower it to their level (There is a rail for a detachable head, but just no head/hose, only a static faucet mounted head). All the above aren't deal breakers at all, for this price point, it's amazing they have the accommodations they do for disabled people. We've stayed at 4 star hotels with fewer accommodations! The biggest reason I'd recommend them is the patient and accommodating staff that worked with us during our stay. We had a couple of issues (unrelated to the motel -- We'll say "Senior moments") while we were staying there that I'm sure put strain on the staff. Each time they got involved, there was never an attitude of "Oh THESE people" or "What now??!" that you may get from even well established franchises. They even saved the day by holding on to a credit card & phone that was dropped in the parking lot and found by another guest. Motel appears to be family run. They understand how to treat a family who needs them and their services for a couple nights. I'm grateful we stayed with them and were accommodated so well. read more

Clean, basic room that would have earned four stars at a significantly lower price. Motel is near a road with little traffic but a 50-mph speed limit, so there is some road noise. The owner said that he would put a trash can in the bathroom. I had to unplug the microwave to plug in the coffee maker, so it would help to add a power outlet near the table. Guests could then use that outlet to charge devices and run a laptop. It would help to add a power outlet between the beds, so that guests can charge devices on a flat surface. read more

Absolutely horrible. This place is extremely dirty.. the bed sheets had holes in it. Not sure if it was from bed bugs or not. We found 4-5 roaches in the night we were staying there. Large ants in the tub and bathroom. Definitely not family oriented at all as there were homeless people wondering around. I yes the prices are cheap but you get what you pay for. All I can say is WOW! City Center Motel is a gem of a motel! I stayed here for the Coachella Music Festival and was thoroughly satisfied with my stay here. From the outside, the motel looks a little outdated but once I stepped into my room, my whole perspective of this place changed. The room had a nice supple bed that gave me a good nights sleep. There was also a nice flat screen tv that had all sorts of channels. The bathrooms were clean and provided some nice amenities such as hand lotion, shampoo, body wash, and soap. The owners are really nice and accommodating. They were always available to offer me breakfast. A huge plus was that they offered rides to and from the polo field where Coachella was held. Overall a very pleasant stay and definitely will be back next time! read more

Great People! Family owned, & they live at the motel so they are truly 24 hours during big events like Coachella. Offered transportation $10 each way. We came before they updated the website so we were pleasantly surprised at the updates. They were always there to make you feel at home. I worked out in the pool area (yes, where people can see me, even the owners & family, but hey I did inspire one lady). Anyways, Mr. Bob, who is the best, cleaned up the area for me after he saw me. Also, they would wake up to make coffee for me when I asked. House keeping came everyday & restocked. Blowdryer, fridge, tv, wifi, & microwave (add 2 mins to any directions on frozen box, trust me!). VERY AFFORDABLE & REASONABLE esp. for Coachella season. I would def. stay here again. See, I told you Mr. Bob, I would leave a positive review. Sending y'all all the best! Reasonable price at $66 a night with tax. This is only for room 41. Nice big HD TV with decent channel lineup. Bed was hard but clean, pillows a bit small. Room was clean with fridge, bathroom was fine and provided nice soaps and shampoos. Adult channel is 94 wink wink. One note is the trains run fairly close at low speeds so it was like this deep rumbling but not noisy. You're actually not sure what it is the first time. We stayed here on a trip out to the Salton Sea. The owners were very nice, and the price was reasonable at $65. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were rather small, and all the amenities looked updated, new looking bathroom fixtures, floor, large flat screen TV, etc. The only real complaint was that we did end up in a smoking room, and the cigarette odor lingered. It didn't bother me, but it did bother my friend. Nonsmokers bothered by the odor will want to ask about getting a nonsmoking room. The motel is close to several restaurants, some within walking distance, and the owners are happy to suggest good places to eat. This place is great!! My husband and I were road tripping on our way to Texas, when we got sleepy. Instead of trying to push it and accidentally drive off the road, we decided to stop for the night and get an early start. This place was the first call cuz it has the best ratings. We wanted something cheap, but not gross. This place has fantastic rates and it was super clean. There's no disgusting carpet; it's only tile and laminate wood-looking floors. It has a flat screen (practically a must, according to my husband) and SO many channels and on-demand options. There was also free wifi, a fridge, and a microwave. One of our favorite parts about the room was the adorable and friendly murals that were painted on the wall and the ceiling (the painted clouds were very relaxing). We would definitely stay here again. I think the only thing we didn't like was the outrageously firm mattress. Now, I like a firm mattress cuz it usually treats my back (which I recently had surgery on) quite well. However, this one was a bit much. It almost felt like we were sleeping on the floor and we both woke up almost every time we turned over. But besides the bed, everything else was great. read more

My girlfriends and I stayed at this motel for Coachella Weekend One this year and I would definitely stay here again. I was SO lucky to find that it had availability last minute (like 2-3 weeks before the show) and that it was not extravagantly overpriced. Even the motel 6 (which I have stayed at for previous Coachellas and is much worse quality) was like twice the price of this hotel). Sure, the price was inflated, but it was totally affordable compared to EVERY other location around. Plus, it's only 3 miles away from the venue, which makes it extremely convenient. The room was clean, had a fridge and a microwave which was super helpful, and the shower was really powerful which I love. The flat screen was great too. Overall I was happy. It was quiet, no partying or chaos, which I appreciated, because when I'm back at the hotel, I am there to sleep. Apparently the walls were a bit thin for my girlfriends because they could hear neighbors talking but I couldn't hear a thing because I sleep like a log. Also pillows are very thin so maybe bring your own. If you need a ride to the venue they will drive you although we just drove ourselves each day and it was perfectly fine since we were so close. No problem getting in or out. Overall it was great and I would totally stay here again next here. Not sure what others saw that was great..". This is like a throwback to the 60's, and not everything was great. Called ahead from the road for an overnight stay on the way to Arizona.... Arrived at 9:45 pm, the proprietor was wearing athletic shorts and no shoes/socks (not very professional). Quickly checked in, went to the room. It was a smoking room, and stunk of cigarette smoke. Went back and asked for a non-smoking room, and we're quickly accommodated. The room was small - queen bed, night stands, and a small table with chairs. But some inconveniences/concerns with the room: - No clock in the room - The only outlets to plug anything (like, say, a clock) were located by an empty space on the wall, not convenient to anything - Dead bolt couldn't be used, as it didn't line up with the cut-out in the door frame. Combined with the fact that the motel is just off the road, and with no deterrent for somebody to walk around, it left us concerned for our safety. I literally put my (full) suitcase against the door to block it. - The TV worked, but the remote didn't. - Lights in the bathroom were very dim - The curtains didn't overlap, so we had to fashion a way to clip them together so as to not have that one annoying ray of light wake us in the morning - Proximity to the road led to a good amount of road noise. Some good points: - Proprietor was responsive and quick - Room was clean, no issues with its condition - Bed was comfortable - Wifi was fast, though a password is needed and they had to look it up. Apparently very few guests must use it! In fact, every device connecting needed a separate password, so we didn't bother to ask for a second one when my wife's iPad couldn't connect using the same password I used. It had taken long enough for them to just figure out the first one! I'm not sure if the other options in Indio are better, but this certainly didn't seem like a 4.5 star motel to us. read more

I was driving from Sacramento to Phoenix and decided to stop overnight in Indio (no reservations). I drove around late at night to find a place to sleep and learned there was a big dog show in town and many motels had no vacancies. Luckily, I stopped at the Bhakta's City Center Motel. It's not instantly available from the freeway, but it's a little dream place. My room was updated in every way: bed, linens, bathroom fixtures, flooring, and more. There was a nice/large flat screen TV on the wall, nice toiletries in the bathroom, and a microwave and refrigerator. This is "the season" in Indio and my room was $69. The family/owners are extremely friendly and helpful...and available 24/7. I locked my keys in my car and two of the family members waited with me the next morning for AAA to come and help. I have their business card and will keep it on file for myself and to give to other friends/relatives. I love you guys! read more

So they gave us the special jacuzzi room at a rate between smoking and its price which was $169. Ridiculous room! Jacuzzi took up 3/4ths of it! NO closets! NO hooks of any sort. Lamps missing bulbs! Not too dirty. But staff went on and on talking and making excuses and seemed incompetent. We left! Could not stay there! They said they would not charge us anything- whew. Date of visit: 1 Dec 22....This Motel has to be the worst I have ever experienced in my many years of travel.....We first checked in ear at 1:25pm....My room assignment was 31....First, the door was open, an electrical cord was plugged into the outlet for a paint sprayer.....When I opened the bathroom door, the was an employee using the toilet.....I asked for another room and was rudely told they were sold out....We were the only ones there and they could have changed the room and made this one ready for later....Then I tried to take a shower and there was no hot water....either in the shower or sink....I was told to let it run for awhile......it had been running for 25 minutes already......I asked for another room and was Told if I did not like that one, I could. just check out.....To make matters worse, later the bathroom toilet plugged up and was overflowing....I reported this and left to go to visit my friend in another room....when I returned, the manager had place a toilet plunger next to the door....It dod not work, and the toilet seat fell off onto the floor and the toilet was moving around on the floor....The room smelled when I entered and the order was repugnant.....the only thing that worked was the tv if you could figure out how to use the 2 remotes and the heater.....The bed was made but only had a bottom sheet and a top sheet....I requested a blanket and one was finally provided....(night temp got down to 47 degrees F......oh, by the way, the door had no seals and cold air poured in from the sides and bottom....No coat hanger for clothes, 2 bath towels, no face cloths and face towels and no floor mat..... read more

had to take care of some business and was gonna bring my girl. so looked around for a place with a jacuzzi room. found this place and got there around 8 p.m., check in was fast and they seemed cool. got in the room and everything was cool. then we wanted to go in the hot tub... big dead waterbug by it and it was impossible to keep water from draining from hot tub. then the wifi went out for a day and a half. we stayed another night in another room, bbq'ed by the pool, had a relaxing time. other than the one bug and wi fi out, no too bad. there's like one store around, that sucked. they coulda done more than shrugged at us for a day about the wi fi and were kinda rude about it. but for a party hotel, wasn't too bad, i really wanted to give them a really bad review but all and all...not too bad. read more

We stayed here for Coachella 2011 and could not have been more pleased. We were all a bit nervous as this was our first motel experience, but it far exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean, the bathroom looked newly tiled, and we were provided with fresh towels, sheets, and soaps everyday. There is a large flat screen mounted which also surprised us. The location is perfect; close enough to the polo fields, and right off the strip in town with a few restaurants, a Starbucks, gas stations, etc. The motel is family owned and you could tell how much pride they took in the place. Here is the best part: They provide rides, to and from Coachella, in their family cars. At any point you're ready to jam, you let "mom" or "big brother" know and they'll drive you right to the polo fields. Once you're ready to go home, give them a call. This was HUGE considering there isn't really a good way to get to and from if you don't want to drive. I would 100% recommend this spot for anyone looking to book a room for Coachella next year. Not sure what it is like the rest of the year, but based on my stay it can't be anything less. read more

BEST OPTION FOR COACHELLA! Me and my friends stayed there this weekend and it was GREAT. Like everyone says, from the outside it looks outdated (just like you see in the pictures), but the rooms are in great shape. They are clean and comfortable. 4 of us stayed in one room and we had plenty of space. The bathroom was clean and they provide the needed amenities. Also the owners are amazing! They gave us rides back and forth to the festival and we never had to wait long (the motel is about 10 minutes away, a little more with the Coachella traffic). We also really enjoyed talking to them on the rides, they are very fun and nice. It is a bit pricey, but so is every other hotel/motel on Coachella weekends. I think it had the best price out of every other option. We were very happy with our choice this year, and we would definitely stay there again! read more

You're judging a book by it's cover, shame on you. Old motorlodges hold a special place in my heart and this one has been well maintained. Yes it's old (has character) and isn't immediately off the interstate (was on the old highway back in the day) BUT it's reasonably priced, the bath was COMPLETELY redone, clean and sparkling AND there was a quirky mural hand-painted on one of the walls, which I thought was kind of cool. We prefer a firm mattress and it was in fact firm, not lumpy or saggy. The furniture is dated, but for an overnight place to stay it's perfectly fine. The pool looked clean and maintained, but I hadn't brought a suit so didn't go in. More importantly it's family owned and someone is on the property at all times. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Don't a judgmental. If you want fancy, go to Palm Springs. read more

My Sister and I have traveled to Coachella for over four years, have stayed at different hotels and by far this Motel exceeded anything we had ever stayed in. We were sad we didn't find this little gem earlier in our travels. The accommodations were clean, we felt very safe and the people running the place were extremely friendly and kind. The room had many amenities such as wi-fi, a mini-refrigerator, flat screen tv and blow dryer that assisted in making our stay a pleasant one. The Motel also offered a shuttle service to and from the event which saved us a lot of time. There is also a great place to eat next door and within less than a mile there is a CVS so if you forgot something or are in need of anything the Motel is surrounded by places. When booked online, Early Check in was asked for and expected. Wrong. Upon arrival room was not ready. I had to ask for the linens and towels and clean room myself, as housekeeping was NOT ON SITE AT 12:30PM. Knowing that check out time is at 11am, at least ONE HOUSEKEEPER should have been on duty, and if that could not happen, then desk staff should have started the room cleans. The soda machine outside was out of order, so I had to walk a mile in a post op boot from surgery (THE DAY BEFORE-ALSO the reason for REQUESTING EARLY CHECK IN) to the closest store for a drink. As my friend came to drop off my medication to me, the hotel staffperson on duty came to my room and rudely said no guests were allowed, not even caring that it was told to him my "guest" was leaving after dropping off my medication. The staffperson on duty then waited outside the door for him to do so. All this no guest policy made no sense to me as my neighbors had QUITE A FEW VISITORS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. Also, upon booking my second night the room credit was NOT added to my hotel.com account like I was told it would be. The charge was 10 more than the previous night. Neighbors next door were continuously banging on the walls and coming in and out all night long. Will NOT stay again not even as a last resort spot. B. Bhagta, you ought to be ashamed of the way you handled that whole situation. And then you have the NERVE to say I left the room a mess? I left my room no messier than it was when I got it. I picked up my trash and even piled it all in the corner for you. I was only there 2 days and all I did was sleep. The only thing you could be talking about is me not making it to the toilet in time and having an accident which I cleaned up with a towel and put in the tub and rinsed out. I even made the STUPID mistake of leaving a whole damn pizza from pizza hut behind, which Im sure you enjoyed for lunch. To start off let me begin with saying this. I'm a 22 who was own his own and I need a place to stay for a few days. The plan was to stay at City Center motel and to be honest it wasn't my first pick but I didn't have a choice. Plus I believe in giving everything a chance. Because you'll never know what life has planned. Let me be the one of many to say "Don't. The first night was ok. I had set the bar a little low and the room looks exactly as I expected. I don't mean that in a good way. After day two I noticed for a motel with a no visitor policy the room next door had a lot of guest. How do I know u ask? Well trust me, you would have too from the noise they would all make. I understand two or three people but not four or five people. To paint you a mental image. I"ll tell you what happened when I noticed the first issue. I ignored them when suddenly I noticed the room next door was getting upset from the noise coming from my room but I couldn't help it. not only do the doors and bed make it impossible to move but the creaking is so loud I even started to get upset. The best part was when I turned off the air conditioning and tv off, I realized I could hear the conversation from next door. There's no privacy. On day two I noticed there was water on the bathroom floor. When I told the maid she said she'll tell the office. I guess she never did because when I called to complain on my cell phone because the room phone didn't work. For example the phone was functional and didn't even have the bottoms dial a number. On the phone I told the women that answered that there is a leak from the toilet and puddle of water in the bathroom. She said her husband was eating dinner and she would send him after. I told her that was fine. Also keep in mind my boyfriend was stopping by through out the day to bring clothes and food. The owners husband was quick to point at my boyfriend and said why Is he here. I replied with a confused face and said no visitors unless I pay an additional $10 fee. Before I got the chance to do so the wife arrive to say there's no visitors period. I had pointed out the phone(apparently your also supposed to do buy minutes to even use) he asked me what did I do to it. I also mentioned the missing fire alarm he followed by where did I put it. And then I hear the husband speak in a different language and started look really upset. There even was a string hanging from the ceiling light and the husband tried to pull it off and said I was attempting to hide something. Plus there was a dent in the microwave which my boyfriend found a open can of food which I wasn't aware was there. I was confused until I realized what he was telling his wife that i was the person that damaged everything. I shocked if I had done all that why would I ask for him to look at the room. I told him that I wasn't responsible for everything he got even more upset when I told him that a missing fire alarm was a safety violation. He told me I was going to be charged with everything I asked if he could prove I was the one to cause all the damages he said yes. I refused to stay the night and left. To top it off the ice machine no longer works. I will continue to the details of the rest of my experiences soon. read more

We were looking for a motel in the Palm Springs area and could not find a room in our price range. We ended up at the City Center Motel in Indio. From the street it looked really old and we were pretty apprehensive about staying there. We didn't need to be. The owners were very nice and helpful. The room was quirky but nice with a huge mural of a beach scene on the walls and clouds and a bird on the ceiling. The bathroom was nice, clean and hot water. The price was right as well. Convenient location to Coachella (Festival), and they even offer shuttle service to and from the festival all day, even until 4am (but don't take advantage...they are so nice!). City Center Motel is the BEST place to stay if you are in town. I recently stayed here for Coachella 2014, and all I can say is WOW. The rooms were amazing, with a more updated look and nice TV. In addition to the nice room, the service i received was more than i could ask for. The owners were very nice and tried their very best to make our experience here memorable. During the festival they even offered us a ride to and from the festival whenever we needed it which was awesome because it was only 10 minutes away and they knew how to avoid all the main traffic. Okay, I read all of the reviews and took the bait. This place is just fine, funky in a nice way, exceedingly clean and well maintained. The downside is the immediate proximity to CA-111 and the tracks. Too much road noise. Also, and this hacked me off... I made a single night's reservation for $39 and when I arrived the night clerk wanted to ding me for two nights at $58 a night. This appears to be a rampant practice among East Indian owned hostelries around the area. I got my one night and acquiesced just to get into bed at a late hour. read more
