This really is just a half step above a Motel 6. The road into the parking lot is like a land mine of potholes. It's a bumpy ride. I requested a king-size bed and was put in an ADA-accessible room. There was no tub, the shower had no door or curtain in the bathroom. Just one large flat room with a toilet, shower head, and shower chair. The sink was outside of the bathroom. The king size bed only had 4 small square pillows on it that are smaller than throw pillows for a couch (shown in attachment). I requested a regular sized pillow and they said the hotel doesn't carry them. What kind of hotel doesn't carry standard sized pillows?! The ice machine was out of ice. The gym A/C was broken. The staff seemed annoyed anytime I asked a question. And the "continental breakfast" was fruit, yogurt, and cereal. I didn't even see a coffee machine. On top of all of it, I would wake up with large inflated itchy bites all over my body. Everyday more popped up. During the day, I wear jeans a long sleeve shirt and long socks so bugs can't get under my clothes which leads me to believe this was from the bed/room. well, I just tried to call and cancel my reservation because my flight was canceled and they're going to still charge my card even though I made my reservation for hours before this. So I'm gonna end up paying $225 for a room I'm never going to get .. It's amazing I can go to Holiday Inn comfort suites everybody can cancel but this one doesn't cancel their policy is he got your card number they're gonna charge it. This is very sad but I can search the world today in El Centro best western. Well, there's a reason I only got two stars from everybody else. I guess I've found out the hard way. read more

Typically I like to stay at Best Western hotels. Better than most, not over the top, yet always affordable. For me it's about location, cleanliness and able to sleep comfortably without issues. Best Western fits that bill typically. Last minute (due to storm in the desert) we looked locally and spotted this place. "Best Western Plus" didn't disappoint. We asked for 3rd floor and got that too. Centrally located to all of the nicer restaurants and amenities in El Centro we were very happy with our stay. Quite, clean, accommodating & affordable. His assistant was cute too, but it did not make the establishment any more attractive. Breakfast was ok, but the rooms themselves are barely a 6/10. I like 8's & 9's, but oh well.. Here's is a place where they go the extra mile for somebody. this that I speek of may have been wrong and may have been handle differently , don't know. May have save a family from a lot of trouble down the road. I was awakened at 4 am and a child slip out of the room and was lost . I took her to the front desk for help. Stayed one week night. Reception was satisfactory. Not particularly warm or welcoming. The room was comfortable. There was no outstanding decor. Window mounted air conditioning. *** Pit stop review (El Centro) *** I stayed here before and it was ok. When traveling to (and through) small towns sometimes you just have to manage your expectations. This is decent place to stay to be comfortable and get some sleep in. The neighborhood isn't bad so you don't have to worry too much about your vehicle in the outside parking lot. I have working in Calexico for the past 3 months and I have been extremely happy with everything. I was extremely shocked by the staff because of their service they are outstanding with customers. I got to know the staff quick just because they are friendly. You just want to say hi to them to get a chance and make small talk with them because of the vibe that they give off. The Manager Alex is extremely aware of his guests he from day one calls you by name. Hi Mr Muñoz/ How are you today Mr Muñoz / Have good day Mr Muñoz and so on. I just can't say enough about the staff. I can also include that the rooms are super clean I have never had any problems with my stay at this location. Ack. I travel OFTEN for work, by often I mean WEEKLY. I normally stay at Town Suites, this time I figured I do Best Western because I vaguely remember staying here months and months ago with co-workers and we seemed pleased with it. We were pleased with it because we went to the bar behind the hotel and got tanked and passe out. In the sober light of day, it lacks. The beds are NOT comfy, seriously your flat sheet as the "fitted" sheet sucks. Nothing like waking with your "fitted" sheet wrapped around you in suffocation. I was NOT impressed, upon arrival,the elevator had JUST stopped working. Now, I am not impressed, but I understand stuff like this happens. So, 2 flights of stairs (where AC is not available) and I find my room. I've experienced better, better shit holes. This is now noted with me, I will plan my El Centro stays at the Holiday Inn or the Marriot on Dogwood. read more

This motel saved our night from what looked to be a nightmare to a refreshing clean room. We booked reservations at the vacation inn which was horrifying with bed bugs and feces particles to just plain nasty. The best western got us in and gave us a small discount to make our night off to a better start. This place is like 10 stars compared to the other one I won't speak of anymore. I stay here about once a year. I appreciate the working refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. However, the bathroom fan makes noise, the bed coverings are too thin for the winter, and there are signs of neglect. I found an extra blanket in the closet which is literally falling apart, and one of the glasses have spots. My biggest pet peeve with hotels is sour shower curtains. As soon as I opened the bathroom door I could smell it. I understand people get complacent, but if you want good reviews, you cannot afford to be. read more

I was in town because a family member was in the hospital, my husband spoke to a front desk receptionist named Laura, and she offered us the best customer service experience, with the best deal! Very welcoming and informed us of everything we needed to know. Our remote to the tv wasn't in the room upon arrival, we called and she personally brought it up to us with a smile and apology. The room were clean and comfy. Right by IHOP but they offer a great free breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel, and LAURA - during such a difficult few days you brought a smile to our face with excellent customer service. read more

I have never been talked to the way the manager talked to me. He was very condescending, and frankly, quite rude. It really was upsetting since I have stayed at many BW. I stayed here 3/21 to 3/25 2016,this hotel is very functional, rooms are clean and in this City it's in a relatively safe area. Why only 4 stars, two reasons only, the staff were very rude and unaccommodating and if you want wifi internet, they have 3 different options, all of them suck. The bed was super comfortable, one of the best but they did not change the sheets for the whole week I was there, kinda gross. I had room 211, which was just across from the elevator, oh boy that thing has to be the loudest elevator anywhere, all night long it was thumping and loud motor noises. I would highly recommend if you want to stay here to book a room well away from the elevator, if you don't mind uninterested staff and an "I dont get paid enough" attitude from the staff then you will have a great stay, the rooms really are kept 1st class clean. The desk staff really suck and don't care but the room maids kick butt, awesome service. One more thing, the hot water comes out cloudy, if you fill a cup with it then it almost has the consistency of milk, Im not sure why but if you are happy with that then it's all good, I didn't really have much choice. read more

I had to stay over in El Centro for 2 nights. Alex was just terrific in being helpful. In fact the entire staff was courteous and pleasant. The rooms were clean and the food was just fine. If I could give a lower rating I would. This place is a shit pit. I checked into my room and as soon as I walked into the room a smell of filth filled my nostrils. I try my best to deal with the stench enough to use the restroom and the toilet had no water in the tank. So i go back to the front desk and ask for another room. The lady at the front desk gives me a key to another room and someone is already staying in it. WTF! How do you not know what rooms are vacant and what rooms need maintenance? So I go back to the front desk and I tell her this news and she says that there are no other rooms available. So I ask for a discount foe the smelly non working toilet room and she sluffs me off saying that only a manager can do that, which is total BS and that someone can be by at 11pm to fix the toilet. So I wait till 11:20 and no-one shows up. So I called the front desk and some man answers the phone. This horrible front desk lady just blew me off again and didn't bother telling anyone about me. It's under construction so parking can be a pain. The rooms are fine, the air conditioners work fantastically, but bring your own pillows because theirs are shite. They give you four half sized pillows. Also, there is an IHOP, Panda Express (oddly enough, still doesn't serve panda), and an In n Out within melting walking distance to the hotel. read more

This place is booked frequently, due to the military base out here, as well as the laborers that stay out here. There is a Comfort Suites that is back-to-back with this one, which is also booked, as well. Knowing this, I made a reservation well in advance. I walked up, tired from a days work in the 100+ degree heat, relieved that I made this reservation, and to my surprise...they told me that they " "accidentally" cancelled my reservation." Seriously, it takes quite a few key strokes, and a phone call to cancel a reservation, but somehow, this guy miraculously cancelled my reservation. What an Asshole. If you stay out here, the Comfort Suites people are awesome, and there is a Vacation Inn that is very hospitable as well. I have also been there when they lost this guys luggage. They thought he checked out, but he didn't, and he couldn't get into his room. When they let him in, he saw none of his stuff, and they had "no idea what happened to it." I think they eventually found it, but, holy shit. Stay away from the Best Western in El Centro! read more
