I was here about a month ago for a court trial. My room was sufficiently roomy and very clean with all the amenities, including 24-hr coffee in the lounge and room, breakfast buffet, wifi, and access to a printer. What made my stay even more enjoyable was the patience, exuberance, hospitality, friendliness, courtesy, and professionalism of Amanda who checked me in. Because of Amanda, I was able to print documents, and even buy a charger for my laptop from Best Buy which is right across the street! Amanda certainly went above and beyond my expectations. In fact, the court trial a month ago was continued to tomorrow, and I am writing this review in my room at the same hotel. And yes, Amanda checked me in again tonight, and seeing a friendly face, especially one as beautiful as hers, was indeed immensely comforting. read more

Very decent hotel to stay. I went to El Centri for work and stayed two nights at this hotel. My room was clean and peaceful. Despite the exhausting heat outside, the rooms are nice and chill. I did not like their breakfast, and the lounge area was so hot that I wouldn't want to stay for more than 10 minutes. I tried their pool, it was clean but again super hot that I felt I couldn't breathe anymore. The staff are very professional and welcoming. The location is amazing, very close to the shopping center and restaurants. Check-in and check-out are super fast and it is a decent place to stay for a short period. read more

Facility ventilation appears to have fallen off the priority list. Air felt stagnant and in room shower and toilet out gassing also appears to be inadequate making the room uncomfortable at times. Poor shower design and function is made worse by old and cheap feeling hardware leaving wet floors in addition to saturated air. The toilet was temperamental as it would sometimes refuse to fill and require some goading to convince it to. read more

Fabulous spot! This hotel is clean, modern, thoughtful. Tissues in the elevators, lots of charging spots in the room. Bathrooms are large with plenty of counter space. Im showers have sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Staff is friendly and welcoming. A few little details I would have enjoyed, missing soap (bar/hand soap) in the bathroom and the digital key wasn't working but the front desk informed us and got us a physical key proactively. And there's no coffee creamer in the rooms. No issues, just my pickiness :) I would recommend if you're headed somewhere on the 8 and need a spot to stay. We stayed there one night and my sister found a bed bug crawling on her in the middle of the night, we quickly got up and dressed, I put the bug into a plastic baggie and took it to the front desk. They would'nt refund my money for the night and I also had to throw my luggage and clothing away for fear It had acquired more than one bug. We decided to just leave and drive home. I kept calling to speak with the manager and they did'nt seem very helpful, it took the manager 3 days to finally contact me. So not only did I not get refunded for my inconvenience, but lost my brand new luggage and some clothing. Very unfair! Would'nt ever stay there again! read more

Overall great experience no complaints staff is very friendly and attentive. They have a hot breakfast every day with plenty of options. Small gym and pool but gets the job done and I would definitely return. They also have a great break area where you can meet with colleagues and get some work done. Stayed one night for a work assignment in the area & it was a great experience from the moment I checked in with Juan until I checked out. You can tell they maintain the entire hotel, from the lobby to our room, everything was clean and maintained. If you enjoy cocktail hour they offer a happy hour with light appetizers, I think Monday to Thursday and it's on the house & they did a great job at being attentive. Parking was safe and plenty of it. Continental breakfast was great, they served hot and cold food. read more

Four stars for El Centro / Calexico where there are few nice hotels so this one definitely shines in comparison. The Hampton is located next to the El Centro shopping mall and otherwise like an oasis in middle of nowhere. Rooms are very cleanly appointed in a sort of whitewashed modern style. Decent sized. Small closet which is adequate although the closet sliding door oddly doubles as the bathroom door such that one or the other must be open at all times. The bathroom looks like something in a high end yacht - very clean lines. Room has a great divan in it for reclining, plus a desk and upholstered chair. Microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, 42" flat screen TV. The coffee maker is not a Keurig and makes a weak and tasteless brew, but it's at least hot and it is coffee. Indoor pool and small exercise facility. Free cooked breakfast included. High points are make your own fresh waffles, omelettes, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yoghurt. Also cereal, pastries, muffins, scones, toast, milk, fruit juices, coffee and tea (tea bags). In all a pretty good breakfast. One negative is the in room (not central air) AC unit - can be noisy at times, even when set on Lo - at times it starts emitting a low oscillating vibrating hum. Also the bed squeaks with movement, and merely walking through the room makes the walls rattle a bit - pretty strange. This was in room 407, but I'm sure that at least the AC unit noise is universal in all rooms. Front desk staff, maids and staff in general very friendly. Hampton is now owned by Hilton and any level Hilton Honors (HH) membership gets you free WiFi although at Hampton Inns everyone HH member or not gets the free WiFi. read more

This is a clean modern and well maintained hotel. They offer a free breakfast buffet that is included with the price of the room. Parking is also free. The one thing to be aware of is that there is a strong odor of cow manure coming from nearby dairy farms in the vicinity of this hotel. The hotel did a fantastic job of freshening the air inside the hotel so you will not be aware of it when you are inside. You will definitely notice it though from the parking lot. read more

A very clean and fairly new hotel with great customer service. They are still serving the free breakfast as of this date, April 3rd 2021. I wanted to give a compliment to the breakfast server, Mabel! What a wonderful person who greets me and everyone I see with a smile and greeting. Mabel is learning English and speaks it fairly well. Much better than I speak Spanish, not even a contest. I love speaking with her in the morning and we both test each other with phrases. Just wanted to put that out there but more important is that she is truly a customer service specialist who appears to love her job and the people she is serving. When we checked into the hotel we were not informed they had a boiler down and there was no hot water. After a long drive we had hoped for a hot shower and no such luck. When I called down is when I was informed there was no hot water. We were hoping perhaps in the morning the boiler might have been fixed. Again no hot water. When we asked for compensation we were only offered points for stay at that hotel. Seriously why would I want to stay at a place that wasn't honest upfront? Air conditioning so loud kept me awake all night. Maintenance guy attempted to fix and couldn't. The bag breakfast in the morning was disgusting, in the bag was a moldy orange and a sandwich that smelled rotten with a stale package of pot tarts. Can I just say this place is a joke! My husband travels for work every other week and chooses to stay here. Well never again. This morning, 10/8/19, he was attempting to check out. It was around 4'ish am. I mean, this hotel claims to be 24-7 right? Should've been no issue. Well, when someone finally came to help him, employee Raul, just stood at the counter and stared at him. My husband then said "uuhhh, do you work here? I've been waiting to check out." This employee (Raul) went on to point at his badge. To insinuate "look at my name." Without saying a word. Wow. Absolutely disgusting customer service, and an absolute reflection on this hotels integrity. We will NEVER come back again. After reading some good reviews I decided to book a night at this hotel for an event I was going to attend on Nov 9th. Unfortunately, this event changed their dates to the weekend after. I called the hotel to see if I could change the date but they refused and said that it was up to Expedia since I booked with them. I then called Expedia and they said it was up to the manager of the hotel. Expedia called the hotel and the manager refused to allow me to change the date. Therefore I was charged even though I wasn't able to go. Save your money and go elsewhere! Don't let the nice pictures fool you. So many things about this place are fantastic. It's lovely on the inside, the staff were friendly, the morning breakfast was great... but We stayed in a hotel so we could get a good night's rest before an event. The floors/walls are so thin we could hear the people above us all night (who may or may not have been elephants!?). We also didn't know what the weird, loud, intermittent noise was outside our room - turns out it was the HVAC unit for the hotel!! SO LOUD. By the time we figured out these issues, it was too late to try to switch rooms (it was about 2 AM). Did not get any sleep. I emailed the hotel to try to resolve our concerns but never heard back. :( Waste of money, and an exhausting drive home the next day. So if you DO stay here, because it IS a nice hotel, make sure you get a TOP room floor and there is no HVAC outside your window!!! read more

At check in he was well groomed, neat and very professional looking, he handled 3 customers at the same time without getting frustrated - he remained calm and organized. Very clean and presentable hotel. We were in the area for a celebration and booked the room in advance. It is off the freeway, making it really accessible, but the traffic noise doesn't go through the windows. The amenities are great. The pool was indoors, so that was a plus since this was during the summer and the heat is brutal in El Centro. Also, the gym is very nice and clean. Each machine has its own TV. The remotes for the TV's do tend to get mixed up, but if you're lucky, the one on your machine will actually belong to your piece of equipment. The rooms are very clean and fresh. The restrooms were very clean as well. The beds were pretty comfortable. No problems there at all. The last thing is the staffing, which they were all very nice and welcoming. And I'm not only referring to the people working the front desk. Every staff member that we came in contact with smiled and greeted us. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely book my room at the Hampton Inn. read more

I can't give you any insight on staying at the hotel, but only the nightmare process of canceling and then being unable to receive the refund they promised me. Don't just take my opinion, read the timeline below: Oct 16- I booked a room for November 18 to be paid for at check in. Oct 23- I had to cancel the room, and was granted free cancellation. Nov 22- A charge for the hotel room is pending on my account. I email to request the fee be removed. Nov 23- I get an email response requiring that I send a scan or screenshot of my bank statement so the claim can be "reviewed". I comply. Nov 29- My refund request is accepted. Within 1-2 days, they'll send me another email with a link where I have to enter my card info for the refund to be processed (don't they already have this??). Nov 30- I get the email and enter my card info again. The confirmation states the money will be deposited back in 5-7 business days, depending on my bank. Dec 13- It has now been 9 business days and I have not received a refund. I email inquiring why it hasn't been processed. Dec 14- Their email to me says it has been processed and to check with my bank. I decide to just be patient. Dec 26- My patience runs out. It has been 17 business days and I'm still awaiting a refund on a charge which was not supposed to occur. I call my bank and catch them up to speed. They say there is NOT a pending refund from Hampton Inn. There is only a charge from Nov 22, which I ask my bank to dispute since the hotel does not appear to have any intentions of refunding. My bank posts the refund and opens a dispute with Hampton Inn. They said they will take it from here. What. A. Headache. I cancelled almost a month in advance and still got charged. After patiently jumping through all their hoops of sending my bank statement and account information after I caught THEIR error, they can't even return the money they took. Ridiculous. Stayed here while in town for business. The front desk staff are so helpful and friendly. I stayed on the 4th floor and had a room away from the elevator, so it was a nice and quiet stay. The king bed and all the fluffy pillows made for the perfect few nights of sleep after long work hours. It's right next door to a shopping area, a few places to eat, and I-8. Called back she knew I was calling and had her employee Monica send me to voicemail. Called back and based off caller ID no one answered and sent me to hold music. Never will I stay there or at any of their properties. If I don't stay there I would stay at Quality Inn where customer service is excellent for half price. Arrived at 7:45 pm to a welcoming and hospitable front desk host. I had already checked in on my Hilton app so it was so easy to just grab my keys and go up to my room. I stayed on the 4th floor and I was in Usb outlet heaven, they have USB chargers everywhere! Any other hotel you are lucky to find one outlet to charge your phone, laptop and iPad. The hotel is right off the interstate and next to a shopping center and various restaurants. Finally El Centro has a Hilton owned hotel. Woke up on Saturday 3/12/2022. NO HOT WATER. No ETA for the 'technician' to arrive and fix the hot water boiler. A whole bunch of guests in the lobby complaining. We learned that the hotel has two boilers. One had been out of operation for some time. The second one had now failed as well. So much for systems that are supposed to be redundant and have back ups. Had to start the day without a shower or "cleaning the undercarriage" (so to speak!). Made for a long day at the Air Show. When we got back to the hotel we were informed that the manager was refusing refunds or discounts. He accused us of "not letting the water run long enough to get warm". A lame pretext excuse for his own maintenance failings. BTW this "Hampton Inn" is not owned by Hamptons Inns or Hilton. It is a privately owned franchise operating under the name 'Hampton Inn'. That is likely why the cost cutting and poor customer service. DON'T STAY HERE ! No reason to think it will ever get better. read more
