We have stayed at this location many times over the years and had mostly positive experiences. I wish I could rate it higher. Previously, my wife's wallet/pocket book was lost and then found by an employee (or the relative of an employee) who gave a suspicious story (end result - wife got everything back except her $32). Manager at the time covered for the employee and claimed the cameras did not show what happened. Very bad experience. Last Saturday morning (2/29/2020), walking down to start our day, the last step on the stairway completely fell apart beneath my feet and I fell back onto the stairs. Another guest ran and got the clerk from the counter while my wife stayed with me. The clerk called the manager/owner and notified them. I refused medical treatment at the time saying I felt okay but may go to a chiropractor from the jolt of falling onto the stairs and I hoped not to have any lingering issues after the fall. I mentioned this to the woman at the from counter upon checkout. Been nearly a week now and no one from the location has even bothered to contact us to see how I am or anything (they have all of my contact information from our stay). Seems a bit callous to me, especially since we stay at this location several times each year. We're staying there again this week so we'll see if anything is said. One thing we can say we noticed this last trip was better outdoor lighting. Looks like the new management went to LED lighting. Clean and bright no matter what time of night it is. The one issue we've always been concerned about at this location is security. Seems there are fewer people hanging around, riding bikes around the property, etc. Still no visible security (guard), but the lighting definitely helps. read more

Not a fan of bad reviews. But I was very disappointed. The room was very dirty. There was spray paint around the toilet. The water from the shower leaked to the bathroom floors. The pool was green like it hasn't been used in months.! The floors were so lifted. And check in was at 1pm! Never have I had to wait that long. Anyhow., not coming back. Came here with my mother and she instantly started itching , not sure if it was because it was so filthy or if there were fleas lingering from previous pets but not coming back. read more

All I have got to say is I won't be back here anymore I was quoted with tax and all out the door for one night over the phone for$72.00 when I get there she charged me $82.49 and when I got there to check in on 1-13-2023 around 4pm . After I get to my room # 132 I found it very disgusting . Check the pics out for urself pics speak louder than words . I went back up to the front desk and requested my money back and they would not after I showed the lady the pics. There house keeping sucks or the maintenance care or possibly both . Regular M6 customer will never use M6 again. Walther at the El Centro motel 6 was the rudest front desk motel employee I've ever seen. He refused any help in a smart attitude fashion as I tried to get a first floor room on a weeknight, with near zero cars at this motel. I have a bad hip and cannot climb stairs. We go here every year for hunting and we make reservations for the next year when we leave. We need a first floor room because we have so much stuff that we can't leave in the truck. We usually don't have a problem but this time we didn't get a first floor room. What's the point of a reservation if they aren't gonna stand by it. I have been going to this MOTEL as the people were friendly for few years and it was a so-so place. I never complained.,Before I was paying about $70 to 75 dollars a night. Now they raised their price 20 to 25 dollars to $95.00 dollars a night for the same room and want a $100 + deposit fee! I was shocked as nothing has changed! The corpulent woman gave me no explanation nor even smiled and was expressionless. She was good at that! I saw her outside dragging a puff off her cigarette which seemed more important. Necessity sometimes can be the root of all evil as I had driven several hours so I went along knowing I would at least get my deposit back. NOTHING has changed ! ...with homeless people camping near the railroad tracks next to the Motel ( that was NEVER a problem) but her shear arrogance and stupidity was enough to stampede a herd of wild Buffalo. I'm not one give bad reviews as they do have nice people working there especially the cleaning women. Sadly, they serve no courteous coffee in the morning as I remember nor breakfast. Next time I'm going to look around even if I'm dead tired. My last time there was pleasant and the front desk lady was very nice. This is only a MOTEL next to the railway road tracks and an empty lot with trash spewed around it. But, I can deal with that except the price and a 100 Dollar deposit fee which is refundable! No explanation was given from a young woman with a " dead pan " face. Caveat! Buyer beware. I suggest the proprietor hire people who enjoy working with people, smile once in a while and don't charge prices for an old motel room. I came a month ago and it was $20 to $25 dollars cheaper. If I hadn't been driving for hours prior to coming here last evening and dead tired I would have definitely drove around. By the way a young man in the morning I mentioned this to was polite and courteous and even apologized. So, I'm not some "hot head" or petty person seeking attention. Go somewhere else. I did go out and enjoy a dinner served by courteous and polite people. So, maybe no one ever asked or complains. The town people are always polite and friendly. Maybe like myself it falls on " dead ears". Good luck and remember don't settle for not only over priced rates but rude people. I wish anyone traveling a good experience at a nice and reasonable MOTEL! I did notice they had drained the swimming pool and were in the process of renovating it, but I was not concerned about that. read more

The location looks descent but the rooms are nasty they have completely gone down hill. Crusty and stinky. Looks to be cigarette burns on the blankets. Mattresses sink in go all the way down. Bathroom outlets are all broken. Floors don't feel clean had like dirt. Was a horrible experience . Some kind of stains on the outter shower. My list of complains can go on!!! read more

To be honest, I have had bad luck with Motel 6 in the recent past. But I found myself down in this corner of California on a rainy stormy weekend, so I holed up here. The room was clean, The people were courteous and helpful. There was plenty of hot water, and just as important the shower drained well. The other customers staying here were quiet and respectful. There did not seem to be any lowlifes hanging around in the parking area. I don't usually stay in El Centro, but I had a good stay here. And the pet was welcome, gotta have some company when away from home. read more

Room was not clean, including false fingernail in plain sight. Hair in the sink. No smoke detector, wires hanging from ceiling. Shower not spraying and water running past the curtain and onto the floor. Worn flooring. surfaces, such as TV screen, streaked. FILTHY-DIRTY-AWFUL-HORRIBLE. This property should be condemned and torn down. The room we got was unbelievably run down and torn-up! The floor was all scraped up and peeling up. The mattresses were dirty. The door had been kicked in at one time. The AC cover was broken and all askew. The sealing around the floor/wall/shower/toilet was nasty brown with filth. I am surprised the county health department has not shut this place down! You are better off to sleep in your car than this DUMP! You've been warned! read more

I usually stay in the motel 6 in Brawley. However they were sold out and had to come to this motel 6. I've stayed before and I liked it however the second time around wasn't a pleasant one. Upon arrival the receptionist was great! When I got to my room. 134 bottom floor. The bed was broken.. the next morning I left at 6:30 am to get to calipatria, I was gone ALL DAY!! Didn't get back til 3:40. I went to place the key into the door and my door was open already.. I went immediately to the front desk and she couldn't even get ahold of the manager and said to call back that Monday morning. The next day. (Sunday) in the morning I found a roach crawling around... ( another thing to complain about!). That Monday morning, I called and the manager on site stated to me she would call me back because she had to speak to her manager. The next day I called since I didn't hear back from her. She told me that she would not give me back my refund! I don't understand why they couldn't give me my refund back because that was their fault my door was open! I've called the corporate office and still haven't heard back! My family and I stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night. The check-in process was quick and the staff person who assisted us was nice. The room was quite small, but I expected that from pics I had seen. The beds were ok, but as someone else mentioned, this isn't a resort. The worst part of my experience was that I killed 4 cockroaches, and the room smelled like they were trying to cover up that old smoking smell. To be honest, I didn't expect much, but I guess I can't complain since it was only for one night and we paid about $50. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you were planning on staying for more than one night. And another note - there was a shady character in the parking lot. He lingered around our car until my dad decided to make it obvious that he was keeping on an eye on him - that guy eventually left. Beware. read more

It's not a Hilton but for $45/night, it was ideal for an overnight stay. Property is just off the 8, easy in/out. I arrived close to 1 a.m. and used the night window where a friendly employee had me checked in in short order. The room was on the 2nd floor up some slightly dicey stairs (with caution tape) but no major issue. The room itself was as advertised - clean, comfortable, small, modern and more than adequate for a brief stay. The only issues - the shower is rather small but manageable and the a/c which was very efficient was also rather noisy, although once I adjusted the temp upwards slightly, it was manageable. With an outside temp in the 90's, the room was very comfortable. There was also no iron/board but I assume one could be requested. As a stop on the way to San Diego, it more than served the purpose and despite the late check-in, they did, in fact, "leave the light on" for me. read more

Stayed here this weekend. It was a nice simple motel and great price. There were some negatives. They gave us a room and when we went to the room it was already rented to guests who had stepped out. Good was everywhere and beds unmade. So we went back and got a new room. Then we went to get dinner and when we came back our key didn't work. Turns out they'd given our room away while we were gone but we'd left things in it and the people had gone to office and let them know it was rented already. The second night we were exhausted and so we just stayed again. This time we had no toilet paper and wash clothes and they didn't give us any. At least they didn't give our room away. Or double book us again. They also didn't care that we complained about the room and double booking. Shame. read more

Every time I go to a motel 6 at least two basic services such as water, toilet, a/c, television, bed or shower are not functional or are broken in an extremely annoying way. Really tired of getting a shitty attitude from the desk when I complain. This time he even threatened to throw me out. They also will never give you a refund no matter what. Motel 6: you take up too much room in the hotel space to be screwing it up this badly. Please close your company so that someone can do it right. read more

This place is awesome. Great, helpful staff and remodeled rooms. Arrived here after a nightmare 2 hour stay at Brunners Motel. (See Yelp review) The rooms are brightly painted and flooring looks new. Decent motel for around $35 a night. It is right off the freeway, off of 4th Street. Quick check in. The room was clean. Downside was that there was no bath towels, so I had to call the front desk and request for some. I had a room on the east side of the motel. There are semi trucks parked in the parking lot on the east side. If you are a light sleeper, request a room on the other side. The trucks turned on their engines around 4 a.m. and woke me up. The motel was obviously a one stop for romantic interludes. We had reservations and while I knew what to expect for the price, I didn't expect that the hotel staff had no idea that someone was holed up in the room we were assigned. This was discovered after our key let us in to an occupied room. Fortunately, that individual had the room latch on so we did not have to see unpleasantries. Then we were reassigned the room directly above. The decor was great for the price although I found it odd that there was no phone. This meant that when I found the room infested with cockroaches I had to call them on the cell phone rather than just ringing them up. My son and I were moving back to San Diego, CA and we had to stay for the night and wow we were suprised at what we saw.
