We decided to break up our road trip recently following the holidays to be able to get a good night's sleep and I have to say, it was a good experience. We drive to SoCal often pushing it and driving straight from the Bay. We decided to book a night at the Best Western Heritage Inn because it was rated higher than surrounding places. We arrived at night and checked in at 10:00 p.m., luckily there was an attendant on duty and gave us room keys. The room was nice and clean, but the heater in the room warmed us up fast and that was cozy. It was about 45 degrees out and wanted to have a good night sleep. In the morning I picked up breakfast for my little family, apple juice, cereal & milk, banana and a blueberry muffin. And a couple of egg, cheese and sausage jimmy dean muffins for us parents. Heritage Inn will be one of the best choices available in the area. Mainly a truck stop from miles around, this Best Western location offers a great room at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. The flat-screen TV and refrigerators are modern along with microwaves in every room. Water pressure is also decent to top off all the good things here. It is the sort of location one stops at either when they need a place to crash for the night, or their check engine light came on as was the case for me. Brittany was working the front desk. I have stayed at this location many times and have had mostly pleasant stays. Today I arrived after a very long drive in 90+ degree weather and was looking forward to spending some time at the pool. Upon check in I asked the front desk if the pool was open where I was told it was and that pool towels were located by the pool. I was excited and drained to I checked into my room and got my suit on and went to pool to find only about 2 feet of water in it. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. This was an excellent stay for us while traveling to San Diego. Need to stay midway and this place was perfect. Rooms were clean, fresh, roomy, beds were comfortable, good AC, and quiet. It's right off Highway 5 so easy to get off and on within a couple of minutes. Fast food, gas and big store attached with an IHOP within walking distance. Staff are very nice and they have self serve breakfast in the AM. I recommend this place and will stay again. read more

Didn't plan on stopping here, but when an unfortunate vehicle issue surfaced we realized we had no choice but to quickly unload our car into a room before the tow came. I ran into the front office and asked if they had an room available. I was greeted with a smile and had it all said and done with a key card in my hand in about 5 minutes. Room was great. My son thought we were on vacation. Good area, we felt safe, the room was clean. We feel blessed we broke down where we were thanks to the wonderful service we received at this place. read more

Ok for a very brief stay. Room seemed clean, lobby was tiny. Using the lobby for both the checkin desk and breakfast was not good. Very sparse food choices, barely room to turn around. This Best Western seemed recently renovated and was very comfortable and clean. All amenities were in operating order, bed comfy including very plush pillows and a medium firm mattress. Breakfast was grab-and-go and must be requested and picked up at the front desk. You should know that the area is a bit grim and there is an acrid odor (fertilizer?) in the air, this being farm country. Fortunately the smell does not follow you into the room. The only reason for four stars and not five is the internet service. My experience was not good, it was very slow and erratic. Perhaps the ISP should be switched out? Note that front desk personalities are a mixed bag at this location, ranging from alarmingly sour to warm and personable. Go figure. read more

The hotel is fine - remote location but rooms were updated and relatively clean and quiet considering it's next to the freeway. Breakfast wasn't amazing but was basic and fine- warm and cold options. What wasn't ok was the lack of masks in the middle of a Covid surge. It's state law snd hotel policy to mask yet the clerks weren't masked either time I entered the lobby. To their credit they did put them on when they saw my n95 or when i asked. The night clerk suggested it was optional- it's not. It's a state mandate til mid-Feb at least. I did have to ask a guy waiting behind me to mask when I checked in which was unpleasant. Hotels need to enforce these basic rules. read more

In the heart of corona i was pretty surprised the remote had finger prints on it when it said it was in a clean pouch, there was hair in my bed, and hair in the shower. Shower also clogged up. This room was definitely not disinfected which is pretty sad because businesses are doing so bad right now, and I wanted to support a smaller hotel here. I'm leaving this review as a person who works out of town and has stayed months in this hotel, with co-workers that have there more than a year staying at this location. The hotel itself it's not so bad, but there is a person that works at this location and has the worst attitude when it comes to breakfast. We pay above 100 per night a room ranging from 2-4 rooms per week, and this person makes it so difficult in the morning for us that leave early to work. We know breakfast starts at 6:30, and we're all usually gone by 6:00am, and they have a to go bag option that is a reason we chose to stay here. But this person (Nessa) treats us like we're some thieves or something, she has refused to even unlock the juice dispenser for us. Her excuse for our that treatment is that to her breakfast is at 6:30, when all she has to do is unlock the juice machine and the small fridge that has the same things we get in the to go bag. She is a very rude employee, I'm fed up with this place and this treatment by this employee. I have called you Kavi who is the general manager and left plenty of messages at the counter, I have emailed him and no response, the receptionist always says you have to find him there in person which is hard to do. I will start staying in Bakersfield from now on and just drive to my jobsite farther in order not to see this person or deal with her. We pay high dollar every week to stay here and most other workers don't even bother to ask for the to go bag, and will not stay here anymore, I'm leaving this review for the working class , not the people who just drive by this place and stay one night, read more

This Best Western is conveniently located off of a freeway exit. It is cheap, clean and has a large free parking lot. The room had a large comfortable bed with clean crisp sheets. The complimentary breakfast was perfectly satisfactory especially if you're planning on hitting the road right away. They have an outdoor pool right off of the sidewalk. I personally wouldn't swim practically in the middle of the road, but if you're baking in the middle of summer, I can see why someone would. read more

A great place to stop if you are on the road. Clearly this location offers little as a destination, but the motel itself was very clean, comfy, friendly, and easy to get in and out of. You can refuel next door and get on with your travels whenever the mood strikes. The breakfast was decent...offering cold cereal, oatmeal, waffles, juice and most importantly...coffee. The coffee was good and the tables were clean. The employees were friendly enough, and the check in was extremely easy. I didn't make it into the pool as I was only there from 11PM to 8AM the following morning. If you desire a larger breakfast there is an IHOP next door. This Best Western Heritage Inn is located near the I-5 off exit 253(southbound). So, this is not a place I would vacation. However, this Best Western is okay, and if your getting really tired it will be suffice especially because it is one of the only ones around for miles. Initially I gave this location 3 stars, but I think it was out of mere excitement that we could finally stop and rest. The room its self was fine, and it seems as if it was recently updates with the exception that the carpet needs to be replaced. The other reviews I read before making the reservation said the freeway noise was evident and I did not hear the freeway from the bed. But, I could feel the vibrations, and hear the noise coming from the freeway while in the shower, which was not too relaxing. Oh and at night there are a lot of bugs buzzing around outside, I found this to be really annoying. I would recommend this Best Western under the circumstances that the person is really worn out and needs to rest if not keep driving. read more

We stopped here in middle of our trip from sf to la since we wanted to take our time. The lady at the front desk was nice and welcoming. No issues checking in for our small dog and us. The room was clean and big, no telltale signs that dogs were in the room before :). Some of the edges of the room looked old and were missing though. This best western does charge $10 per pet. The breakfast area in the reception area is small. There was an auto pancake maker(a bit stale), Cereal, hard boiles eggs, microwave sausage and egg burritos, orange juice, apple juice, toast, and coffee. I think its a good variety. The checkout was easy and I took a delicious chocolate chip cookie. This is dedinitely a nice place to stay. read more

When you need a place to crash for the night while traveling down I-5, you can do a LOT worse than this place. Is it the Hilton? Come on, get real. As my hubby said, this is a trucker's hotel. But compared to what else is available just off the freeway at ungodly hours on this ungodly stretch of road, it is. This review is based on that, not whether it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in (hint: it's not). We thought we'd be able to make it home on our drive down from Oregon but by 10 pm we were flagging hard and we still had a good four hours to go. I researched our options and picked this place, and I'm glad we did. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly, offering us a late check-out because of our late check-in. How nice is that? The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and all the usual amenities were included. The continental breakfast was about what you'd expect -- waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. All in all, if you find yourself needing a place to crash before you *crash*, this is probably as good as it gets! read more

Stayed here before on our way to San Diego. Hotel is reasonable and mostly always clean. It is a Best Western but they seem to be the king on the 5 between the Bay Area and San Diego. Room is comfortable with lots of updates. Shower pressure is weak but we are in a drought. Continental breakfast is sparse with rolls, hard boiled eggs and coffee + cereal. We did encounter Jurassic size bugs in our room this trip. Like a ninja, I snuck up on them and wrestled them to the ground. Best in the area so what are you going to do. read more

This is our usual stop over on our way to San Diego. The rooms are most always kept clean, bed, pillows comfy. Room is stocked with the usual coffee maker, shampoo, lotions. There is a small refrigerator for your needs. A free continental breakfast is a few steps away. Fresh coffee, cereal, pastries, and a waffle maker gets your morning started. This Hotel is clearly out in the boonies, but there is a Jack in The Box, gas station and a Denny's (I think). Rooms are sufficiently clean with all the comforts of a hotel out in the Boonies. Our Marching Bands Finals were canceled because of the smoke from the wildfires and we had to leave a day early. Best Western was gracious enough to not charge us for the night where we didn't stay, and was wonderful to our band members. Thank You Best Western Management for your understanding! read more

You probably won't find a cleaner or nicer hotel for quite a few exits North or South on the I-5. You definitely will not find anything close to being as nice four miles North at the junction of I-5 and CA-58. Positives: Nice beds, clean rooms. Negatives: SLOOOOWWWW internet! Room rumbling from the bigger trucks going down the highway. Lame free breakfast (kind of typical of the more mediocre Best Westerns). Air blowing out of the sink and bath faucets when turned on is loud and startling (this occurred in the two rooms I stayed in on the second floor, but not the one I stayed in on the first floor). Bottom line: The outside air stinks, trucks shake the earth, internet is painfully slow, and the sink may bark at you, but you probably won't find anything better in a reasonable distance. read more

Let's face it, hotels along major freeways were built for weary travellers. Sometimes they put good care into keeping a place clean, & sometimes they don't. Thankfully for us, the Best Western we crashed at Sunday night was clean & well cared for. We'd just dealt with a tire blowout ordeal -- dirty from camping, stuck on the side of I-5 for four hours waiting for help -- that left us very tired, & all we wanted was a hot shower & a clean bed. That we got. On the negative side, the hotel was so close to the freeway that all the large trucks passing by rattled the room. I slept well, but dreamed of earthquakes. I'm not sure if it was dream symbolism or just the side effect of having my bed shake every minute or so. Either way, the room was clean & I slept extremely well. read more

Right off the 5, this was a very clean, well-run facility. Everything was as expected. One downside - the sound of semi trucks on the freeway - due to soil conditions, the roar of trucks was conducted through he floor - so earplugs wouldn't help much, if you are sensitive to low-frequency sounds.
