Had to make a sad 3 day trip to Paradise regarding my late husband and stayed at the BWPH....Was treated so nice...they had a fabulous pet room so I could bring my girl with me...my room was so nice, cozy and SUPER CLEAN!!! The bed was truly comfy and it was so quiet there at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful...I had a issue with my TV the first day and they addressed it like right now!! The breakfasts were amazing, so yummy and a great variety of hot food. I felt secure walking my dog around the well-lit hotel property in the early mornings and at night. No matter what I asked for, they were extremely accomodating. They made a hard trip for me less stressful....I would reccomend them to anyone traveling and staying in Paradise! read more

My husband and I booked a road trip to travel passing through beaver Utah on two separate evenings. When I contacted the hotel to inquire about the difference in the rates for the two nights I was treated with disrespect. Ultimately the manager canceled my rooms without my permission. When I asked him to please not cancel our rooms that we have spent a lot of time constructing this road trip he told us that we could just stay somewhere else and that he did not need this aggravation. I do not recommend this hotel they do not respect the customers and could care less! I couldn't believe he told us to go Stay somewhere else and that he had canceled our reservations. When I contacted the corporate office to file a formal complaint against him He tried to deny that he canceled the reservations tried to blame it on hotels.com but, I have emails from hotels.com acknowledging that the hotel indeed canceled my reservations! We are also traveling with a service animal so my guess is he stereotyping against us because he doesn't want the animal in his hotel not really sure but please be very careful if you decide to stay here you may end up sleeping in your car. Rude, and not Customer service oriented whatsoever. read more

Don't go to this place! Poor service! When in need, you expect a place like this to help you. Especially in the middle of the night. This hotel, located in Paradise should be more responsive given their recent troubles of the campfire of 2018. Well, you'd be wrong. Last night my friends car broke down at 4am, so she stopped in. They wanted to charge her $20 per pet. She has 4 tiny chihuahuas. So, regular room cost plus an extra $80 for a woman in need. HOW RIDICULOUS!! I'm appalled by their price gouging services to a woman in need. With all the recent problems in Paradise, they must be doing pretty well to send someone's business away. I Expect more from a Best Western. SHAME ON YOU!!!! read more

When I arrived in our pet friendly room, the carpet had urine on it. (room 105) I went to the front desk to let them know and asked for something to clean it with ( I offered to clean it myself and was very kind and not upset at all about the mess) but the manager on duty said that house cleaning would take care of it. Housekeeping knocks on the door and my husband answers. Our Husky had been in the room with us and was very excited so my husband was firmly holding onto her harness to keep her from jumping on the maid. The maid is a middle aged white woman with red hair pulled back in a ponytail. The maid very rudely said "I am not comfortable coming in here with THAT in the room!" referring to our dog. Well, I understand some people don't like dogs and we would have had no problem taking her outside, but there was no reason for her to be so rude. Not only had she given off a bad impression, as those were the first words out o her mouth, but she then went on to say "Your dog is peeing on the floor right now! I am watching her! Are you sure it wasn't your dog that peed on the floor!? I just cleaned this room this morning!" (My dog was not peeing. She was drooling.) I went on to explain that We had let the dog out to the bathroom before checking in and that she had been with me in the room the whole time. I would have seen her have an accident. She than goes on to question me by saying, "Well how long have you been in here?" I told her about 15-30 minutes. She said "That is long enough for the dog to have an accident! And I don't even see the pee spot youre talking about!" I told her it was next to the bed. It was very small and the carpet was so dark that I wouldn't have even noticed the spot if I hadn't stepped in it with my bare feet. I told her that there was no way you would be able to find it with out touching or smelling for it. She huffed and said "they told me it was on the tile, the whole room has to be cleaned with a carpet cleaner now." and then she left. I was Furious at this point and went to clean up the "Pee" that the house keeper had thought she saw and discovered it was drool (it was clear and I smelled it to be sure, It was not urine.) I took the tissue I used to clean up the drool back to the manager at the front desk. When I got to the frontdesk, I could see the door of the office open behind the desk and the house keeper was loudly complaining about my dog and myself to her manager. The manager then noticed me and walked out to greet me. I was very calm and explained to her that we did not want to be a hassle for her. I told her that we would leave the building with our dog for the house cleaner, move rooms, or, again, I offered to clean the spot myself if she could give me a rag and some cleaner. I explained to her that I was not upset about the urine, i just wanted the spot soaked up so that my infant, crawling son did not get it on him. I then showed her the tissue and told her about the house keepers rude accusation and showed her that it was drool and NOT Urine. Eventually, the manager herself came in and cleaned the urine. She apologized for the inconvenience and commented that our dog was very sweet and friendly. I appreciated that, however I could not believe the horrible manners displayed by the housekeeper within the first hour we had been there. The doors are so thin, you can hear everything in the hall. There was a couple of crack heads living in the room nextdoor and they were smoking in their room with the door open when i walked by. Their room was disgusting and it was clear they were living out of that room.The pool is also unreasonably small. It could be occupied comfortably by two people MAX. The breakfast was alright but when I checked out on sunday morning, the man working the front desk, Josh, gave me some to go bags for our trip back to Portland OR. I was very grateful and thanked him and left with the bags. I opened them in the car on our way out and discovered the apples inside were ROTTEN! I understand that this is not the ritz, but for the $330 price tag on our two night stay, I expected better. This is the highest prices hotel in Paradise, and it is by far the worst. I will be staying at the Paradise inn next time and DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with pets or children. read more

The facilities were excellent. Everything was clean and comfortable. However, check in was an issue. Apparently one of the cleaning staff went home early so at 3 p.m. rooms were not ready. We had to wait in the lobby for about 30 minutes until the cleaning was finished. Because it was graduation weekend at Chico State, the hotel was full. Other people who showed up after us got their rooms ahead of us because they were clean. Even though it was a full house at 3 p.m. was check in time, they only had one person on the desk. The place could use some soundproofing. You could hear the people above and next to you. We didn't try the breakfast. read more

There was a Private event being held in Paradise at the end of April 2022. Many of the attendees were from out of town. Wanda was amazing. Our attendees were able to make their reservations easy, and when they arrived they were greeted with friendly smiles, couresty, and cookies. So I'm in town for my brothers Graduation and my parents booked a motel that they had not reviewed and of course once I did I decided to boycott that idea lol. I found this hotel on hotels.com and instantly noticed the price was a bit more reasonable then the others and at 12:30am I didn't have time to waste. Long story short I booked the hotel and upon arrival the front desk notified me they did not have a reservation for me. I had just driven 9 hrs with my 18 month old and was extremely tired and oh it was 4am so I hope I wasn't to much of a grouch! I became annoyed but the front desk girl kept her composure and really great attitude I felt like something must be off so next morning I noticed my card was charged again and down I go marching to the front desk... Wanda was at the front desk so after a lot of back and forth and reviewing confirmations I hadn't realized I selected the wrong dates when I booked this room && after everything the hotel staff had such a great attitude with my own frustrating situation! It's a crazy weekend here in Chico due to graduations so I'm thankful for their patience and for helping me with resolving my incorrect reservation! Hotel room was very spacious! Nice and clean! Love that it has a fridge and microwave as it helps with all the extra stuff for our son's snacks etc. Continental breakfast had egg omelette with cheese, sausage, cereal, coffee, and more. Know as Paradise Lodge, I can't give more stars because under construction, workout room needs updating and it's your standard hotel room but the service was impressive, the ladies who work there are awesome, plus it's really clean, comfy beds and sheets, and filling breakfast.
