I definitely recommend this location. Everything was cleaned, including shampoo, soap, and towels. Aside from the fact that I brought my own, it's there in case. The location is clean and in a nice area. The best part is that I forgot my jacket in the closet and had to travel back home. They kept my item in their office until it was picked up. This was a fine staycation spot. Super-close to buses and a mile from the Q train (and on weekdays, the B, which turned in a spectacular performance that helped me avoid being late for work). Any negative comments about price, parking or room size should be taken in the context of the overall NYC market. The room was decent-sized, I thought, though I was a solo traveler. Check in/check out was fast. Wi-fi was speedy, no outages. If you're not familiar with the area, I recommend it since there aren't many places with this much waterfront scenery combined with urban conveniences. And you can order Uzbek food on Uber Eats or go across the street to the iconic Roll n Roaster. read more

First room we were given, (we had request the lowest bedroom available, so we were given a room in the basement... guess we deserved that one...) anyway, the lights were quite ambient (blue), and I was staying with my older, female cousin, so it was a bit awkward walking in to see this... but we walked over to the window to realize the lock was broken and the sewer was DIRECTLY outside... needless to say, we alerted the receptionist about the situation and gave us the "accessibility" room, (directly above the room we were already in)... not bad, but SO tight (in regard to space)... only one person could walk between the beds at one time! If I could give zero stars I would. Imagine having to book a room last minute because you booked a flight last minute because your friend has kidney failure. Imagine your mom then reaches out and tells you that you could stay with her when you thought you couldn't. Imagine trying to cancel and being told you can't get a refund of your $219. Imagine asking for a credit instead for the next time you are visiting friends and family and being told no. The amount of stress I am under right now is tremendous and they made it 10000x worse. Book this location if: (1) You need 2 queen beds for your traveling party (2) You need a parking spot Overall, it was a satisfying stay. I stayed from Tuesday-Thursday (parking at night was a lot worse on Tuesday vs Wednesday), and I cannot imagine how bad it is on the weekends. While the staff did say there's always parking outside, it is true, you just might need to walk a few 3-4 blocks or so. I was given the basement level at the time of check-in 2pm and was told there weren't any other options because the hotel was fully booked. I was a bit displeased since I didn't want a view of the sidewalk. Amenities: -Gym- Smelled like rubber mats so I avoided using it since strong scents give me headaches/dizziness. -Breakfast- 7AM-10AM. Appreciate the option. It offered the basics (cereal, milk, coffee, yogurt, mass-produced egg/sausages, make-your-own-waffle, bagels) to get your day started. -Check-out time: 11AM. A bit early, but at least it gets you on the road earlier. -Space: A bit small, but that's NY or any other metropolitan area. I ended up hitting my head on the towel rails when using the toilet. Didn't like how small the bathroom was. -Bedroom- Comfortable beds. Furniture was a bit dated/ scratched up. There was a mini-refrigerator which was a nice bonus for leftovers. -Parking- Depends on your luck. It is not guaranteed. The later you stay out, the less likely you will have parking. Overall: -The pictures on the website were a bit different (bathroom looked more modern, carpet was different, chair in the room was more modern and office-like). -For the price (about $152.99 a night excluding taxes in May) and amenities, it is difficult to beat this price. Advice: -If you are traveling with a smaller party/ do not plan to rent a car or travel far outside of Manhattan, consider other options. -Although Brooklyn looks close to lower Manhattan (about 13 so miles away), it is easily a 40-50minute car-ride. CONSIDER taking the train (which is still about the same travel time). -It is definitely worth booking if you are traveling with a larger party + price-conscious + would need a parking spot. read more

It's good value for money. Room fairly spacious, not too noisy, clean, etc. it's a great location if your main interest is Coney Island/Brighton beach. Sheepshead bay is also a great neighborhood with a vibrant night life. The staff is hit or miss, some people very helpful, some almost rude. Also there seems to be miscommunication between the morning and evening shifts, so don't be too complacent if they let you check out an hour later - the morning shift may not know this. They also didn't seem to be too thrilled when I asked to keep my luggage for a few hours. I didn't know it was a problem, oh well. read more

Not sure why there are numerous negative reviews on here and other travel sites. I'm wrapping up a 2 night stay and it was a great hotel to stay at. We arrived late Saturday morning so we got a spot in their parking lot (it is small so I understand why some people have to street park). Both gentleman at the check in desk were very friendly and attentive. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the room itself was nicer than I expected. Spacious, modern, well working air conditioner, good water pressure in the shower, nice tv mounted on the wall and even the outlets have USB ports. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area! read more

The room is pretty nice on the inside. However, the walls are extremely thin and the hallways are very sketchy and unappealing. The thin walls are especially annoying considering they have people cleaning up very early in the morning - as in someone might be cleaning the hallway at 4 AM or vacuuming at 8 AM. Don't expect a smile from the staff here. Greetings and good morning's should not be on your list of expectations here. If you have a question about parking in the area (which is a very valid question considering the parking lot here is very limited), you will not get an answer. I booked this hotel on hotels.com and got a good deal - about $125 per night. But seriously, you get what you pay for. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a relaxing stay. This is more of a place where you go if you plan to just sleep - well I take that back - the walls are so thin. 1 star for price, 1 for actually having a few parking spaces. They also offer a free breakfast that consists of pastries, bagels, juice, cereal, coffee, and a few hot items. Stay away from the hot items. I had to book a last minute stay here, and I was pleasantly surprised. The prices seemed a little ridiculous for the location, but I have a feeling it may be a result of post-Sandy damage. At any rate, the service was astounding and staff there was friendly (a welcome surprise). The room was clean and complete, breakfast included assorted cold cereal, a waffle maker with batter, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and apple/orange juice. Overall- and maybe it's because I was expecting this place to be a dump, which didn't sit well considering the $170 price tag- I was very impressed by this place. We needed a hotel for five days to visit family near by. There is only one other hotel to choose from in the area. We chose the Best Western Brooklyn Bay. It is definitely not the Four Seasons Hotel and we new not to expect anything fancy when we booked it. It is clean, comfortable, quiet, with the nicest, friendliest and most helpful staff. We adored the front desk person Kameran (sorry about the spelling). It is within walking distance to many great café's and restaurants. We walked along the bay every day and to Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach and even Coney Island. We would stay there again! read more

This hotel was pretty nice. It was about a 25 minute walk from the subway station in a nice area. The area was quiet, minimal traffic, with a lot of nice looking restaurants. The front desk staff was okay, but not overly friendly or helpful. You could have the front desk call you a taxi, but the procedure was very confusing. The continental breakfast had a lot of options, but wasn't great. The cereal was stale and the eggs were kind of awful. The breakfast ended at 10 which is standard, but checkout was at 11, which seemed very early and not leaving much time between breakfast ending and gathering your things to leave. The room was nearly perfect. The beds were comfortable, soft, and the TV and Internet worked well. My only complaint was that the whole time we stayed there, the whole hotel smelled really bad like rotten eggs or sulfur. It woke me up several times in the night because it smelled so rancid. I don't even want to give this place one star because they don't even deserve that much credit. This place was not only way overpriced, but the staff were very rude. I am disabled and was staying with them for 3 days!!! I paid full price every time, no deals. So, the cable wasn't working and I called down to the front desk to see what was going on.. before you know it one thing led to another and I had the managers knocking at my door. They then told me they didn't want me to stay at their hotel anymore and forced me to leave in the middle of a BLIZZARD! I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. The owner and two other men surround me at the front door to my room making me feel worried for my safety and screaming loud in my face telling me I have no respect. I must confess that I was surprised to see all the vitriolic reviews of this hotel. Yes, it's certainly not a luxurious "destination hotel", and in several respects can stand improvement, but it's clean and comfortable, the in-room wifi worked well, my room was reasonably large, there was a mini-refrigerator in it, and the location is ideal for people (like me) who had business in Sheepshead Bay. There were some glitches during my stay but these were dealt with to the extent possible by the lobby staff. The elevator broke on my first full day here, which required more walking up and down than I would have liked, but it was fixed by the next day. The computer center, consisting of only one computer, became useless when the computer also broke down (the result, I was told, of another patron introducing malware). However, when I went to the front desk to ask how I was going to print my boarding pass, the people there immediately offered to print it for me. (A better solution, though, would be to have a business center with more than one computer.) Breakfast is provided free with the room, which is nice, but it's mediocre. There were some hot dishes, but I would advise staying away from them. The eggs were pretty bad, and the bacon was so undercooked that it was sickening to look at, and quite likely a health code violation. The turkey sausage looked so awful that I didn't even attempt a bite of it. However, there is also one of those make-your-own-waffle machines, and that came out pretty well. There is also an assortment of bagels, English muffins, bread, (not very good) blueberry muffins, some fresh fruit, and other stuff, including apple and orange juice from a dispensing machine, and coffee and tea. But, as noted above, the hotel is clean and pretty comfortable, and my AAA rate of about 150 dollars per night (plus loads of taxes) is not unreasonable for the neighborhood. So, all told, if you moderate your expectations and are willing to settle for a serviceable place to spend a few nights, this will fill the bill. read more

Where do I start? I made reservations on Booking.com two months in advance. Best Western's system and Booking don't talk to each other so they had no record of a reservation even thought I had the reservation number from Booking. After a few phone calls, we were given a room in the basement next to the hot water boiler. The next morning when we got up we found the room was flooded with water. Seems the hot water boiler had broken and flooded the basement. Now notice no one from the hotel let us know we were in a flooded room. When my wife called the front desk, she was told we would have to wait at least two hours before we could have another room when other guests check out. After a tense discussion with the desk clerk and more phone calls we were given a new room. No help was offered to move luggage or to pay for any damages to items that were ruined by the water. The staff are not unfriendly but seem to have no authority to help the guests and are not trained how to do so. On the plus side the free breakfast is very nice. read more

This is by far the worst hotel experience I have had to date. I am not exaggerating or drawing some wild hyperbole, it was really awful. I will try to spell it all out so you can make your own decision. For starters, I booked a room with a king size bed. But when I was checking out the bed, I realized it was incredibly small. Turns out, it was a full size bed, which is actually 2 sizes below a king. It is nearly 20 inches shorter than an actual king size bed! When I went to the front desk to complain, I was told, "You are in a king size room. That is a king size bed." I tried explaining it to them, but they actually kept up with the lie, just hoping I would eventually accept their lie. They did make an offer to fix the situation - they would move me to another room with a king size bed. When they showed me the room, it had a bed the same size as the one I was in. Obviously this hotel is lying about their amenities, falsely advertising what they offer. And the employees either are not smart enough to catch on, or they are part of the lie. Of course I did not accept their offer, because it fixed nothing. I decided at that point I needed to move on and try to enjoy the rest of my vacation. I called the corporate "customer service" number, and they were just as unconcerned as the hotel about their horrible lies. They offered to submit a report, which the hotel had 7 days to respond to. Wow, how pathetic, for the hotel and the company. So, instead of waste my vacation fighting something I would get nothing out of, I decided to get on with my vacation and I would deal with this when I got home, since this would obviously go nowhere. That is not all. The shower is awful. The water pressure sucks and I had to run the water for 4-6 minutes every morning before the water became the slightest bit lukewarm. Just horrible. The exercise room is disgusting, clearly never cleaned, as the equipment has a thick layer of dirt. The breakfast was gross. The eggs were dry and were filled with American cheese, the bitch of all cheeses, only one step above the fake nacho cheese sauce you get at stadiums. The sausage was dry and looked filmy. The bananas were more brown than yellow, seriously, they were rotting on the counter, nearly all black. I actually saw those same bananas in the breakfast room 3 mornings in a row (no, I was not going in there for their horrible food). To sum it up, this hotel was just plain awful, no redeeming qualities. So, of course the hotel never responded to my complaint with corporate. They simply do not care, because they already got my money. And Best Western does not care either. They just sat by and let it all happen. It was not until I filled out the satisfaction survey and excoriated the hotel for their many faults that I finally received a response. It was just what I expected. The manager responded in am email, saying, "We are sorry you apparently were not satisfied with your stay. Hope you will try us again sometime." In other words, "Go to hell, I got your money and I laugh in your face for your troubles." Well, Kamran J, I hope you will lose some business when this review posts. So that is my hotel experience. It should be noted when I look on the website to book a room they are still falsely advertising their "king" size beds which they simply do not have. And Best Western does not care, either. Their response seriously was this - "The hotel says they have king size beds and we have to take them at their word" So, as far as they are concerned, I am lying and the manager is in the right. Due to this event, I am forever swearing off all Best Western hotels in the future. The hotel is awful, the manager, Kamran, and staff are all lying jerks, and Best Western could not care less. Time to check out Marriott and Hilton. ***I am asking anyone who reads this, please consider there are other hotels and do not give this horrible place your money. They will lie to you and give you a crap product, all the while ignoring your issues.*** Yelp is here for just this reason, to help others avoid our prior mistakes. i stayed here a year ago the work out machines were not in working order. i checked in again 05/22/18 the card reader was not working they asked me to pay cash asked me to use their atm ,went to work out the machines were still broken. went to the computer station the computer was out of order. went to the front desk they were rude and said they could not do anything. i called the 800 number to complain. 10 minutes later they manager of the hotel called me. he said since i complained to the 800 number he wanted me to check out in the morning. i have pictures to back up everything. read more

The staff is very friendly and the place is convenient to Coney Island and the New York Aquarium. For $190 with taxes (my rate with a AAA discount), the room was neat, clean, nicely decorated but very small. Not a problem for an overnight stay or two, but any longer might start to feel claustrophobic. There are no good views from this place, unless you like to look at rooftops! One big plus is that unlike the Comfort Inn (located a few blocks away) there are no nightclubs near it to interupt your sleep! Parking is free but space is tight and limited. I counted 9 spaces in the top level parking near the lobby, but supposedly there are a few more below. Breakfast is free (in the basement) very small room... Mostly cereal, bagels, toast, etc. Overall, I had a good experience in this motel and would recommend it for short stays. read more

Just OK. Rooms are recently updated with colorful art, draperies, and grey tile. Very pleasant greeting, and check-in. We didn't see the retro-ed elevator to the left of the entry and struggled to haul our luggage up the stairs. The interior hallway is not heated and is often open to the parking garage, access to which isn't posted. It was clean and conveniently located to activities we planned. read more

Very friendly staff. Rooms were very clean. Parking is definitely an issue. We took an Uber once we got a spot (But it's Brooklyn). Only complaint is the bathroom. Wish they had a bit better water pressure and that the shower floor didn't appear as if it was a part of the entire bathroom floor. I thought the water would spill all over the place.
