In town for business and play and had the most indelible experience at New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. I visit NYC at least once a year and lodge in Manhattan. This trip my conference was in Brooklyn so we said why not...turned out to be our best decision! We arrived early and Jeff assisted us at the reservation desk. Jeff said he would try to get us checked in early if possible. Just as I headed to the ladies room to change into workout clothes to hit the Brooklyn Bridge, Jeff said our room was ready! I loved the charm of the hotel, a genuine nod to the character and nature of Brooklyn which was nice. The hotel was steps from the Brooklyn Bridge and I got the opportunity to walk the bridge every day. The entire staff, everyone we encountered was kind and helpful. It took a couple days to familiarize myself with the hotel and by day three, I knew my way around. The staff remembered me and would greet and ask how my stay/trip was each time. To all the amazing people we met, thank you. My husband and I have moved our hotel business to the Marriott, and we are looking into the vacations packages. The rooms were clean and overall the staff was friendly. Other things to note: -There's an automatic $30 destination fee per day. You can use it as a credit for the restaurant/bar. -There are free vouchers you can pick up at the front desk for citibike or brooklyn ferry passes. Only 4 permited per day for the ferry (so essentially 4 one ways or 2 roundtrip). -The M Club lounge is not open all day. It is ONLY available to access during the set meal times M-F (6a-10a and 530p-10p). Also in my opinion, it's probably better to just use your $30 credit and get the hot grab and go breakfast from the restaurant/coffee bar instead of going to the M lounge for breakfast. Stayed here during the NYE and we had a smooth experience from checking in, going to our room (this place is huge), setting up our request like slippers, additional bed sheets and pillows. We got the room that has a living room with pull out bed and a room with two double beds. Enough space for 4 people. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast has small menu but still really good. We love the amenities and it fits with what we need for the eventful day. read more

I normally avoid older Marriott branded hotels. Had to stay here for a wedding, the hotel is dated, the check-in process took about 35 minutes, did not see an option to check in remotely, understaffed. The rooms are average, the location is right by the Brooklyn bridge. Note Ubers will charge $50+ to drive into Manhattan. read more

This review is strictly for the great room restaurant and lounge on the main floor of the hotel. Rude staff telling you you can seat yourself, but if it's only two guest, you can't sit where there are four lounge chairs, even when the restaurant was halfway empty. What is the point of that? We sat for a long time and was never offered water. We ordered some wings that were way overly salty. The lack of customer service here was disappointing. I only came here because I was staying at the hotel. I will never visit this establishment again and this is so sad being a Brooklyn native. read more

Friendly and helpful staff, remodeled bathrooms. Clean and spacious rooms (compared to some spaces in Manhatten). Uber ride from LGA was about $50 in the evening. Only a $25 ride to Manhatten. Not happy with the air conditioning and heat settings here in the winter time. Basically no A/C. Had to get maintenance to open windows on a high floor to cool the room down from 79 degrees. A room on same floor was 83 degrees! Clearly catering to more business folks than weekenders. M-Lounge closes down on Fridays at 10am, and all day Saturday. Sunday open from 5:30-10pm. The person in the M-Lounge told me that security closes the doors, and I asked him if it's a security problem why they shut it down and he just smiled. When closed the M-Lounge is locked, so you also can't step in and pick up some water or soft drinks like at other hotels. There is a fancy flavored and sparkling water dispenser in the M-Lounge (when it's open!) and no sight of bottled water. Although asking at the counter they delivered some bottles :-) Just due to the location and regular Marriott benefits (upgrades, points) I will probably come back but for weekend trips perhaps less so. In the weekend with no M-Lounge, there is a Panera Bread a short walk down the street. The Juice Shop has mixed reviews. read more

This hotel is in a great location and our room was pretty big for a room in NYC. They are clean, seemed recently updated, and check in and check out was a smooth process. The temporary work out room on the 23rd floor has an amazing view. I do wish it was open 24 hours as we had to get up super early for my brother's wedding. We also did not have our room cleaned or restocked at all when we were there but it was only a few days so it wasn't the end of the world. They also give you a $30 credit to use at the shop downstairs on food each day which is pretty cool. Overall I would still recommend. read more

We had a great stay at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge! The location was perfect, it was close to so many attractions, walkable to Brooklyn Bridge Park, and convenient for grabbing food. We stayed here recently as a family with our young children. The room was spacious and comfortable for all of us and it was a relief to have enough space for everyone to relax after long days of exploring the city. The beds were cozy and housekeeping did a great job at keeping everything tidy during our stay. Check-in was friendly. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready yet, but they called before the designated check-in time to let us know when it was ready. Overall, I thought this hotel was a great value, prime location, and a very family-friendly experience in the heart of Brooklyn. read more

General cleanliness left much to be desired (the mini-fridge had multiple containers of food in it from previous guests, thick layers of dust & crud on HVAC vents and bathroom fan, stepped on cut toenails in the carpet from prior guests, a few other things as well but you get the idea...) General room condition mediocre at best, all the beat-up signs of wear & tear from years and years and years of guests, my guess is the last remodel was 15-20 years ago, indicating that this is now in the mature 'cash cow' phase of life for Marriott and there likely will never be capital expenditures made on this property again... Most front-desk staff mildly surly, usually acting 'put out' or indifferent to requests (pushing 20 years with Marriott and a Lifetime Titanium Elite status, but no upgrade despite requesting one and knowing for a fact that ALL room levels were available, bottled water for the room is a special request even when the Executive Lounge is not accessible, at check-out asked for a hard-copy of the bill to review charges prior to departure and the clerk gave me a look of disdain, was promised an extra 3,000 bonus points - which was never posted - as a 'sorry' for the disgusting mini-fridge leftovers, Executive Lounge poorly maintained as the air pots for coffee & hot water empty roughly ¼ of the time, etc. etc. etc...) Add it all up, and the competition to Marriott is starting to look better all the time... read more

I spent two nights here during a BK visit to celebrate a friend's birthday. Everyone that I interacted with greeted me with a smile and were extremely helpful. The room attendant, Nina was extremely accommodating, detail oriented and caring. The same was true for the M lounge attendant. My room was facing Adams (across from the NY Supreme Court) which offered plenty of natural light though a small amount of noise from passing vehicles. It's extremely close to the subway station. The room was nice and clean, there was a bar and a spot where you could get packaged food. It was a little strange that there is not a restaurant in this hotel. There are few spots a short walk down the street, nothing late night though. The lobby was fairly vibrant, although not as much as most of the other Marriotts I've stayed at. There was a bar that didn't seem to be open at the times that we wanted a drink. I'd stay here again. read more

This review is regarding the bar. Mind you, it was a long, exhausting day. Went to bar for a nightcap. Was ignored for quite some time sitting in lounge. Finally walked up to bar to order beverage. Was told by bartender that I needed to order from server. He then instructed server to take my order. After much lapsed time and many others served, spouse shows up and server comes and again asks my order which he had already taken. We again wait ( they were not terribly busy). Finally we cancel order and go in to concierge room, get our own drinks, have incredibly nice attendant. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times. Been to bar each time. Had all of our daughter's wedding guests stay at this hotel. But tonight, treatment was unacceptable and honestly hurtful. read more

We had a great overnight stay at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn bridge. The room was modern, clean and had great views of the city. It's also in a great location, walking distance to DUMBO area. They have a bar / restaurant on site to grab a bite and drinks during your stay! We had a great 3 night stay at the Marriott at Brooklyn Bridge. It is in a nice section of Brooklyn and had a wide circular entrance, which made ubering very easy. Everyone was very helpful and friendly; from the bellmen, front desk folks, bartenders to housekeeping. We were warmly greeted and given a room upgrade (as a Titanium Elite member). The room was very spacious, especially considering other places we stayed in Brooklyn. Everything in the room was very clean and worked perfectly. We had one breakfast in the M Lounge, which was good. The M Lounge is also very large and accommodated the number of people in there quite easily. We also enjoyed a beverage at the bar - nice selection of beer on tap as well as some featured cocktails. Service again was very good. This is our go-to place to stay in Brooklyn. read more

Overpriced for what you get, old hotel feels old in our room. The windows leaked after it rained the night before. No dressers with drawers refrigerators available, but barely cold with the initial day of arrival television not working television not plugged in no remote control on the room took two calls to get a person to come help. Elevator is not working had to travel up and down on the service elevator, which was much more timely and might plan on doing that in the future other hotels seem like a good idea Coffee machine in room was terrible escalators not working during part of staying all in all we're not go back to this hotel, and do not plan on going back to any Marriott hotel in the future seem to have similar problems in past. Was hoping to find a Marriott in a better area of Brooklyn, ideally closer to DUMBO, but this was the best we could find. The proximity is not bad - 10-15 min walk to some of the incredible neighborhoods and restaurants of DUMBO. The hotel itself is on a drab yet busy area with cars, a few restaurants, and some courthouses. It felt safe but was not much to look at. Easy access to several train lines. The hotel itself felt a bit dated. Carpet could use replacing. The lobby has a convention center feel but no visually stimulating artwork or architecture. The bar is nice but the wide window panes are wasted on a view of nothing really. The rooms were fairly modern but uneventful views, even from the 16th floor. We were hoping for views of the Brooklyn Bridge (given the hotel name) but either we weren't high enough or weren't paying enough for the room ($450/night). The bathroom was above average. No water bottles in the room despite Marriott status. Furniture was sleek. The bed was very soft. Like a cheap futon or something. If you like this then you'll be happy. I prefer something slightly firmer and my back was pretty achy both nights. read more

The New York Marriott was the location for the New York portion of our road trip. Overall, I did not like this Marriott. Because of the parking situation, it was difficult to leave to another hotel. Parking in a New York hotel is difficult as most hotels do not have parking with in and out privileges. This was one of the few hotels with in and out privileges. But, even with in and out privileges, the company running the underground parking was not a pleasant company to deal with. The company contracted to manage the parking required you to pay first for your entire stay with no refunds. It costs $50 a day plus tax. The first thing I did after checking in was park my car and pay the entirety of my stay. When I got the bright idea of leaving early to go to a different hotel, They parking attendant told me I could leave without a refund. Spothero could be an option here. Check in was interesting. The front desk girl was both nice and all business. She was a stereotypical New Yorker with no time for small talk. It wasn't until a few days later that I discovered that she was nice to me. Using my Suite Night Award, we were given a one bedroom suite with a sofa bed on a upper floor with a view of the river and Brooklyn Bridge, if you looked hard enough. A resort fee of $25 is normally charged to all guests where in return guest get a $25 food and beverage credit. It wasn't until my 3rd day that a different front desk clerk told me that the front desk girl had waived my resort fee. It was a little too late after spending $25 on food and beverages the first two days. The room was large, but, old and dated. We had a nice suite on the upper floor with a large king sized bed. The refrigerator was leaking water. We've stayed in nicer suites before. The club had a M Club lounge with pandemic hours. It was only open Monday through Friday for breakfast only. They have a policy where they do not want anyone taking food outside of the lounge. When I asked for a box, I was told that I needed to talk to Sam, the general manager. When I told sam that my wife is uncomfortable dining in at a restaurant, he relunctantly gave me me a box. Sam was at the entrance of the lounge every morning greeting guests and making sure that no one snuck in. The guy working the lounge was a nice guy. The gym was old and so were the treadmills and other machines in there. They have a large swimming pool that was closed due to renovations. Both the pool and spa were closed. I wasn't thrilled with this hotel, but, if I visit New York again, I may have to stay here again since they are one of the few hotels with in and out parking privileges. read more

Overall had a nice stay at the Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. Was given a nice upgrade to a city hall facing room with my elite status and I found the room to be pretty large given it's in NYC. Service was nice as I asked for more towels and water and they were brought up promptly. The lounge is only open for breakfast and has the typical Marriott fair but everything is well maintained and clean. Beautiful, perfect location and exceptionally clean. This is a huge hotel, but they pay attention to details and give every guest individual, thoughtful service. The cafe is reasonably priced, for a hotel, and the clerk, Abby, was kind, considerate, and funny. A huge plus for this hotel is its proximity to the Subway. This hotel is practically on top of the Jay St./Metrotech station and that gives you easy access to the whole city. Also, if you prefer using a car service, there is ample parking downstairs for them as well. They also get a huge A+ for security, particularly late night, when they have a live security guard at the door. A great place in a great location for a reasonable price. read more

First the high's. The front door staff is great. So is the bar staff, when it's open. Very helpful in every interaction. Now the lows. The bar is closed all afternoon on Saturday and Sundays until 4:30pm. You can't watch a college football game or even the Giants play a game on Sunday. I've never encountered that in a Marge Marriot, in major city before. The room layout is nuts. I've never had a room further from the elevators. Sure it was quiet, but I had to walk for 3 minutes to reach my room. Also my room was kind of dirty. Very obvious drink rings, that were sticky to the touch, on the nightstand. My mini fridge looked liked it had been rolled down a hill. It was covered in dents and scratches everywhere and the inside had obvious, spilled liquid stains. Pretty hard to miss this stuff and if they missed the easy stuff what were the chances that the hard stuff was clean? Finally at check-in they told me my total was $800, then at check-out I learn they didn't bother to mention resort fees (for the closed bar?) and taxes and my real total was $1,300. I know there are always taxes and resort fees just include them when you say "your total for this stay is...". Never staying here again. read more

When I returned to my room hours later, late at night, it was even hotter and the staff told me they just got in and they weren't able to explain. They moved my room and the new room was as hot as the previous one. We were spending a tremendous amount of money here for a wedding and the treatment by the staff was abysmal. Just okay at best. Rooms were clean but watch your calves. Those bed frames will get you every time! No water bottles in the room and no water or coffee in the lobby. I can't recall a time I have seen such a lack of basic amenities in the last 20 years. The bell men / valets were always so friendly and there two people at reception that were awesome. Ahmen was one. The others name escapes me but I'll update if my husband remembers. All of our family booked months ago and not one of our rooms were ready as promised. One SIL fell asleep waiting in the lobby then the staff kicked her out! My other SIL/BIL attempted to check in at about 8pm. Again.... Room not ready. They took their number and promised to call when the room was ready. We went to dinner and got back around midnight. Guess what... still not ready. Thank gos they found them a room at a different hotel, but it defeated the purpose of having all our family at the same hotel. Then they refused to take ownership for over booking. After the bar was open I just wanted a glass of water since there was none in the lobby. The bar tender flat out ignored me. Same thing happened my BIL. Overall I would never stay here again. Last time we were in Brooklyn we stayed at the Hampton Inn around the corner and it was SO MUCH BETTER! Save your money and frustrations and stay elsewhere. read more

We didn't get to our room until around 7pm. We soon left and informed the front desk that both nightstand lamps were out. When we arrived after dinner, around 8:30pm, the lamps were still not repaired. The engineer came around 9pm. He said he never experienced both lamps being out at the same time. He took both of them down. He gave us the option to wait until tomorrow or he could come back around 10pm. We chose the latter, since by then we felt they may never get repaired. He came before 10pm. He finished by 10:25pm. We were tired from a long flight. We didn't expect to be entertaining an engineer in our room for so long and so late. During our stay, we were mostly in the Brooklyn bridge area and found the hotel location a little too far. As for our room, our bed was uncomfortable. I found myself sinking into the bed. I had to sleep in the middle of the king bed. The down pillows flattened too easily, one pillow was pricking me with feathers. The bath towel was too small. And there wasn't enough ventilation in the bathroom. The lobby area was nice enough and spacious. At the end of our stay, as I waited in the car, per the bellhop's instructions, the same bellhop helped my partner with two luggages and one small suitcase, from the second floor to the car. Upon receiving $5, he looked dissatisfied. I'm confused. Is the $1/bag the standard rate? He didn't no anything special. He didn't help us get our luggage from our room. the hotel and staff have been excellent. Even the parking garage people were very nice and helpful as well as those manning the front entrance. our room was clean and not worn out. my only disappointment was in the club lounge, not the lounge itself. It did not appear to be re-stocked well. There was bottled water our first night of four, but then none. there were a lot of empty fridges that must have held something. And they did not have whole milk available. there was a variety of other milk and plant based milk just not whole. seemed odd to me. they did have an interesting refill machine with possible flavors. breakfast was very good. I realize these issues are very minor. when back in brooklyn we would definitely stay here. the location is great. good for walking and lots of food opportunities within walking distance. a nice park/square with lots of benches. good for people watching. read more

I have mixed feelings. Some staff were so easy to talk to while others were distant. I didn't get any help with luggage when I arrived and when I left I did. Service was spotty. No daily cleaning service which made it hard. No food service either. Even worse But, given the times and situation for what it was worth, I would give them 2 stars. Here is why: my smoke alarm went off, I want smoking, I was taking a hot shower. I called and the lady says she's going to send someone. Five minutes later, I jumped on the couch and fanned the smoke alarm and it went off. I was so aggravated that no one came to rescue me. Then I asked for towels and literally they came three hours later. I was asleep so I asked them to leave them at the door. By then I used a used towel. The restroom also was dirty with pee on the back of the toilet and in areas only seen if you were sitting in the tub. I was working 16 hour days so I bleached down my tub and sat in only to see the pee and I quickly got up and showered. I'm a Marriott girl so this was definitely disappointing. read more

Rooms were decent size by NYC standards, but sorely in need of updates. Bed was lumpy and soft. Our room was on the 9th floor, definitely not high enough to avoid the traffic and city noise throughout the night. Issues with internet connection brushed off by hotel staff. (Finally got it working on my own). No water included in room, even for Bonvoy elites. Room was either too cold or too hot intermittently all night long. The loyalty they have towards their company really shines while they are in service. The rooms are a tad out dated even though there was a renovation. Prices have gone up, significantly. However, it's worth the stay. Attention to detail does matter to me especially in the room. The shower head and faucet were loose, the shower curtain didn't have the second liner, there were hair strands throughout the carpet so walking in socks tracked small hair balls, and the front walkway had spots of something that may have spilled. read more

I was in town on a Corporate business trip and our contact for loading in, setting up, and all logistics was, Sharon. Sharon is amazing she is a manager here at the Brooklyn Marriott. Not only is she personable and professional which is particularly hard to find in one person but also, her communication skills are impeccable. All of the employees seemed to love their careers at Marriott and it shows. Everyone was helpful and polite from the front desk staff to the cleaning ladies. The hotel has a full bar/snack area. Those guys at the bar could use a sprinkle of fairy dust but overall, I give this Marriott a 5 star rating. There are several restaurants and amenities located nearby and a food truck directly outside (warning it's cash only) This is definitely the place to stay in Brooklyn. The hotel is scenic and spacious. There are a few art exhibits that brings the thrill of Brooklyn to an upscale hotel. If and when I'm back in the area this is where you can find me! Some friends and I booked a 4-day stay here. It was completely disappointing, given the price we paid and the 4-star rating: the sheets were stained, the bathroom tub was dirty, and there were no amenities (no water bottles in the room and the little "amenities" we got we had to pay for as a "destination fee"). The phone in our room didn't work. It was even difficult to get the hotel folio after our stay; I was routed 4 times before I was able to reach an actual person who can help. The only redeeming quality was that their staff was nice and accommodating. Skip this place and look for another hotel. Totally not worth it. read more
