The Best Western Plus Landmark Hotel in Ballard is the nicest classiest Best Western in which we have ever stayed. The check in clerk, Barb, upgraded our room to a king suite with a kitchenette. It was basically a full kitchen! Barb also gave us a gift bag with cookies, water bottles, and other treats since we are Best Western Diamond Members. The towels were the softest and very large, which is one way we evaluate and rate our hotels. The breakfast was phenomenal!!! Full hot breakfast with numerous choices and 'to go' items with 'to go' containers. The best part of the dining room was the real dishes, utensils, and a children's play area. We stay at Best Western hotels whenever we are able because of the high quality and excellent service. This was the Best of them all!!! Unfortunately a family tragedy last month brought me to this "small town" hotel way far away from home. I had just driven 850 miles in 11 hours to get to my husband that arrived before me. I had 2 hours to check-in, get ready & find the local mortuary to say goodbye to my father-in-law. Nicole met me at the front desk...1.5 days early of the reservations I had made online...I quickly explained the horrific situation because my husband was to arrive any minute and I didn't know what to do. We had no place to stay on top of things. My husband came in at that moment and collapsed in the lobby. Nicole remained professional and didn't get ruffled by his emotionally charged display. She not only got us into a room early, she helped me combine the multiple online reservations I had made, while I was sobbing back at home before leaving....and even extended our stay a couple days further "just in case". She told us it was easier to cancel instead of taking a chance on not having a room. She was right. We needed the two additional days to deal with packing up a life. I would hands down hire Nicole should she ever apply to my workplace. She was calm, professional, caring and even more gratefully didn't tell us "to have a nice day." She offered sincere condolences. Now, as far as the hotel. It was great. I would come back just to visit and check out the area in a heartbeat and stay here. Complimentary cookies in the afternoon, a delicious breakfast every day (was utterly shocked by the care the person working Tues-Sat gave us), and a coffee machine in the hall that kept us caffeinated for the week we were there. It was nice to come back after a day of sorting & packing to relax in the hot tub & pool and take a mental break from the tasks. I appreciated the washer & dryer because I failed in packing both of us enough clothing) and it was nice to see the gym & pool table, though didn't use. Housekeeping was great, kept our room as we asked (because we had stuff we had to bring from another location) and even left us extra towels and garbage bags for the day we requested no service, because it was our only day to sleep until we woke up after more than a week of no real sleep. It was probably the best customer service I have ever had at a regular hotel chain in such a nice hotel. Nicole made this stay for us. The BW we got the night after we left here in Elko, NV was awful, we were so disappointed. We didn't want to touch anything. read more

This was a huge surprise, I was not expecting much in a small town in Utah. The room was the standard room clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was real food and plenty of it they did not skimp out. I will be back. read more

Hotel overall was good. Both gym and pool are 24 hours which is usually unheard of! The pillows are small and the beds are average but surprisingly quiet. Cost 15 bucks/pet if you need to go that route. Breakfast was better than most hotels however the eggs are real and they had home made muffins. Hospitality was above and beyond and the lady making breakfast was especially nice. Only downside is the location is not close to anything for walking distance. read more

Keep in mind this is a 4 for Ballard/Roosevelt. I've stayed her in several occasions while in the area for work and never had any issues. This is one of the newer hotels in the area. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There's a pool, hot tub and work out room. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is ok you have the basics (baked goods, yogurt, cereals, waffle station, and fruit) plus some rotating hot items (scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, etc) The coffees weak, but other than that breakfast was good. read more

3 COCKROACHES!! I found (2) 2" cockroaches in my 1st room. They moved me to the other side of the hotel and I found another (1) 2" cockroach in the new room the next morning. Comforter had stains and I don't think it was washed between guests. Several black hairs in shower and in the bedding. read more

Have stayed here for a week on two separate occasions while working in Duchesne and Vernal. Great halfway point between the two. Staff is extremely friendly and the hotel is very clean. I definitely recommend asking the staff for suggestions regarding places to eat. Breakfast in the morning is a major plus. Definitely better than I have had at other similarly priced hotels. Gym is above average for a hotel and they have a nice small pool and hot tub. There is a grill on the back that coworkers and I keep meaning to use, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I accidentally left my ipad in my room on my most recent stay. The general manager called to let me know and then shipped it to my house for me. Much appreciated! Will definitely be staying here again on the next work trip out that way. Almost forgot...free warm chocolate chip cookies after a long day is always a plus!! read more

This is one of the nicer hotels in the Roosevelt area. The rooms are spacious and well cleaned. The staff is very friendly, especially at breakfast. The breakfast was much better than is expected from a hotel breakfast. My only complaint is the pillows. They are just too small for my likes. read more

I recently (June 2018) stayed at the Dinosaur Inn and Suites with a group of 22 senior citizens that I was leading on a river rafting trip. The hotel and staff could not have been better. Everything is clean and functioning perfectly, probably due to the recent refurbishing. The breakfast includes the usual cold items, plus it has an omelet and waffle station. The staff was always very accommodating and helpful regarding special requests to make our trip successful. I will definitely stay here again on all future trips to Vernal. While it seems Yelp still lists this as a Best Western property, I believe the new owners are operating it independently. read more

We were really disappointed in our stay at this hotel. The only nice part was the friendly lady that checked us in. Other than that, I would not recommend staying here. The location is awful, very old area. A mere 20 min drive up the road puts you in a much better developed city (Vernal). They have CNN blasting in the lobby (which is not pleasant while on vacation). The shower head doesn't work right (just mists out water) and someone built the fan right over it, so you freeze to death getting out of it. The counter space in the bathroom is non existent. Oh, and be ware of their alarm clocks. Apparently they can be set to go off 2 different times, and as a result a loud blasting siren woke us up in the middle of the night. Not a pleasant experience at all! read more

This was our first visit here and found the staff to be friendly, concerned over our well-being, and enthusiastic about the property. After getting into our room and unpacking, we decided it would be too noisy for us due to the highway. We were graciously accommodated in our request to change rooms, with one of the associates even offering to help us transfer our things. The hotel was clean, with no overpowering cleaning scents hanging in the air. It snowed 4-5" during the night, and one of the staff went out in the cold early morning air to brush off all the windows of each vehicle in the parking lot! We've never had THAT happen ANYWHERE before! We have usually stayed in Vernal for our business in Roosevelt, but decided to give this Best Western a try. It was the PERFECT choice! read more

Okay- here's my honest experience at this hotel: this hotel is probably the nicest in this town because it is new. It is clean and very nice because it is new. The free breakfast cafe is very cool and the food was good. The only questionable moment was when I went to get ice from the ice machine and I look down into the catch-all under the dispenser and to my astonishment I see (brace yourself) what looked to be a used condom. Stayed here for two days on a bicycle trip, and really enjoyed it. It is a bit more expensive than the nearby competition, but you get what you pay for! Super clean rooms with TVs, free wifi, helpful staff, great complimentary breakfasts (with waffle machine, eggs, hash browns, cereal...etc), a small pool and a hot tub, laundry, and a gym, among other amenities. I've stayed in a lot of hotels recently, and this is one of the better ones I've stayed in. Of course, it was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the decor was pleasant, but this hotel has little touches that make it better than most of the others. For instance, in the evenings there is coffee and hot teas available, but also a hot chocolate bar, complete with marshmallows and whipped cream. The breakfast was an actual hot breakfast, with bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, pancakes and waffles. They also have cereal, toast, etc. But what is really nice is the fact that they have actual dishes, so your coffee doesn't taste like a paper cup. I definitely recommend this hotel. read more

On an Elk hunting trip, last week, we found this place had just open. This hotel is brand new and very clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They opened the breakfast an hour early to accommodate the hunters. The manager matched a rate we were quoted for a Best Western about 20 miles away. We cancelled our other hotel reservations. They went out of the way to take care of what we needed. The only thing I can say negative (really getting picky) is that the tables around the indoor pool and whirlpool were not there yet. The front desk explained that they had been ordered but were not there yet. Our towels hung on the wall. Fresh cookies were for the taking at the front desk, as was tea and coffee. Breakfast was typical self-serve hot breakfast. We will be staying here again next year on our hunt. read more
