We recently stayed at this Best Western while our daughter competed in a swim meet at Texas A&M. This was actually our second stay at this hotel--we chose to come back because our experience two years ago was so positive. Unfortunately, this visit was a major disappointment. When we arrived, we found empty shampoo bottles left in our shower and a used coffee pod still in the coffee maker from the previous guest. While those issues were frustrating, they were minor compared to what followed. Both nights of our stay, guests were allowed to remain at the pool well after the posted pool hours. The first night, a loud group was in the pool area after midnight. I called the front desk around 11:30 p.m., and was told someone would ask them to leave. The noise continued. The next morning, I spoke with the manager, Apple, to express my concerns. Rather than acknowledging that staff should have enforced the hotel's posted quiet and pool hours, I was told that I should have continued calling the front desk if the guests were still being loud. I found that response disappointing. Guests shouldn't have to repeatedly call throughout the night to ensure hotel policies are enforced. Later that day, after our swim meet, we took our children swimming even though the pool water appeared cloudy. As we returned to our room, we shared the elevator with a housekeeper who casually mentioned she had stayed at the hotel the previous night so she could remain at the pool until "late, late, late." Hearing that from an employee only added to our concerns about how seriously the pool rules are taken. By the second day, the pool was still cloudy. After swimming, our children's swim shirts had a strong fishy odor, which was unpleasant and raised additional concerns about the pool's condition. The second night was even worse. Around 3:00 a.m., I woke up to people talking outside our window. I looked outside and saw multiple people in both the hot tub and pool. At approximately 3:30 a.m., I again called the front desk and reported the situation. Someone said they would ask the guests to leave, but I couldn't understand how people were able to access the pool area in the middle of the night in the first place. Our family traveled here to support our daughter, who worked for months to qualify for this swim meet. We had to wake up at 6:00 a.m. both mornings, so having our sleep repeatedly interrupted because hotel rules weren't being enforced was incredibly frustrating. We returned because we had a wonderful experience here before. Sadly, this stay fell far short of the standard we expected. Better housekeeping, proper pool maintenance, and consistent enforcement of quiet hours and pool hours would have made a significant difference. read more

STAFF DOES NOT WEAR MASKS. Guests roam around without masks. The rooms are clearly dated and need some updating. The room was a bit dusty, beds made sloppily. Sheet was put on inside out and super wrinkled. The floor also looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. The pool is small and not kept, we waited till it opened at 10am, and still the trash was overflowing and there was garbage on the ground around the pool. The garbage cans by the ice machine was also overflowing, so much so there were several large bags on the ground around the trash can. Breakfast during these times consist of saran wrapped kolaches, individual yogurts, nutrigtain bars, muffins, cereal & milk. I had to ask about any drinks. Rather than tend to the breakfast bar and ensure it stays stocked, staff was busy chatting amongst each other. She then brought out cans of OJ, but other than that no fruit or condiments or anything else. There is a coffee maker in the room but no sugar to go with it. Overall the stay wasn't terrible since it was only for a day but the the whole not wearing a mask made me want to leave and get a refund. read more

First complaint: Room key did not work twice which made me have to go up and down twice in a row with my heavy belongings. Telephone at elevator was not working, which I was hoping it did to save me a trip. Second complaint: Dirty/stained shower floor and I don't have any shower slippers... (I really don't want to step on that). Front desk directed me to Walgreens as an answer. Third complaint: Bathroom light went out and I haven't showered yet. Front desk told me they will fix it in the morning. I guess I am showering in the dark..... Con: The tile floor had a weird sticky residue (I assume it's from the cleaning solution they use)... you can tell I went back and forth a lot because of my footprints. Warning: Do not walk barefoot! lol I definitely was not expecting this kind of service/quality for a $120+ night stay. I'm checking out and will be staying at another hotel for my remaining days in town. The reason for the 2-stars instead of 1-star is because the hotel had a nice scent (finally a pro!) I will have to say it was a nice place to stay but the thing that earns this review is the service I received. I didn't know I left my house keys in the room. I'm normally good at making sure I have everything, but obviously I didn't do a good job this time. I saw a call originate from Bryan, so I knew it was the hotel but didn't know why. A gentleman named Cody left me a message letting me know I left something behind. I called back and found out that I left my keys behind. You would think that places should always do this, but we know how people can be. I would have had no idea where my keys had gone to either. Your car will be towed even if the parking pass is displayed on the dash, This hotel has a shady contract with towing companies! I know of two people that have a lost days wage and personal expense's on Uber rides to get their vehicles out of the towing impound because the tow truck drivers does not take the time to look on the dash clearly, and they out use to towing due to a twin peaks restaurant in the parking lot read more

Hotel stay: 3/25/22, room 207 The Bed was great and some of the staff very nice. 1. Posted in the hall is a quite hour rule sign. (10pm-0800am) At 1100pm, we called the front desk and stated a guest was yelling and fighting in the room next to us. The front desk clerk stated " I think the quite time starts at 12 midnight, but he would call room 205 and ask them to keep it quite. The yelling stopped at 1am 2. Checkout time is 12 noon. At 0915 the cleaning lady knocked on the door and asked us what time we are leaving so the could clean the room. (VERY disrespectful, we payed for the room until 12 noon) 3. The hallway smelled of MOLD 4. The breakfast is served from 0700-1000. We arrived at 0930 and found most of the food gone and very few options left. DO NOT STAY HERE. New hotels are almost always nice... this one is no exception. Beautiful facility. The lobby is large and clean. The front desk staff was outstanding. Incredibly friendly and helpful... even at midnight when checking in with rain soaked clothes and luggage. The rooms are very large and exceptionally clean. And my ultimate decision on whether or not I like a hotel is based on the beds - and these are pleasantly comfortable. I got a great night's sleep, even with Highway 6 so close. Next time I am looking for a place to catch some zzzz's in College Station, I will most definitely be returning the Best Western. And in case you happen to forget any personal necessities... there is a Walgreens on the back side of the hotel within walking distance. Very handy for snacks, water, etc. I didn't happen to eat the breakfast here, but heard there was a nice selection and the food was pretty good... for hotel breakfast food. read more

This is my first time staying at a Best Western hotel and the hotel is VERY, VERY nice. From the staff to the facilities in the hotel, everything about the hotel was wonderful. I stayed in the hotel for 9 days by myself and I felt safe and secure. The room is big and roomy. I was able to have 4 adult size friends visit and we were not sitting on top of each other. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of fluffy pillows. The sheets and linen were clean and soft. The outdoor pool is very nice. The ambiance of the hotel and the surrounding area is pleasing and calm. The location of the hotel is adjacent to Texas A&M College Station which is a big plus for me. The bathroom was clean. We stayed in a king suite room and the price was worth it. I plan to return to College Station to see my daughter play volleyaball and to check in on her very ofter. I had to VPN into my work account and the process was very easy. Every staff I encountered was nice and pleasant. They liked their job. Everyone I came into contact in Texas was very hospitable. I was able to use my Amazon Fire TV stick. It worked perfectly. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who has to travel to College Station. I will check out other Best Western properties first wherever I go. I trust this brand. Thank you. read more

Went to Bryan for a huge get together of Bowhunters. The hotel is very clean and fresh, and was easy to book using our group rate, however they booked some family events at the hotel. Nothing more awkward than seeing a baby shower occurring with all of the camo walking around. The king room was really spacious and the beds were heavenly. The walk in shower was clean, but I'm not sure if the other rooms have tubs for families with small children. read more

BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU PLAN ON USING YOUR BW POINTS FOR PART OF A STAY AT THIS LOCATION I used my member ship points to cover one of two nights stay at this location. Neither the person who scheduled the reservation or the front desk clerk advised me at check in that using points required you signing in again for the night that is going to be paid for using another method. I was assured my weekend reservation was set. My problems began Saturday, August 11 around two in the Afternoon. I received a phone call from my Wife, while out driving, asking me why I had checked out of the Hotel a day early. I told her I had not and then drove back (to the Hotel) as quickly as I could. The new front desk person, a young woman, told me that they did not know that I was staying and that all my belongings had been moved from my room and placed on one of those movable racks. I explained how I had reserved for the weekend, had been confirmed and that no one advised me on the need to register for the second day. The front desk person was quick to check to make sure my room was still available. This leads to the other event that annoyed me: I was wearing a walking cast on my foot from a fall. While checking to see if the cleaning staff had finished with my room, she (the front desk clerk) asked what happened and I told her. She did not bother to ask me if I needed help getting that rack upstairs or if she could get someone to help me. I managed to get it up with some difficulty. Normally, I would have brought it down as well, but based on the way I felt I was treated, I left that for their people to do. Because of a family illness, I did not get my complaint into the hotel until about a month later. I have submitted my complaint a total of three times and still have not gotten the response. This to me, is just as bad as the initial.problem. I have been a loyal customer of Best Western for almost 20 years. I did plan on giving them a second chance, now I am not so sure. Dirty, dirty room! Sheets were rumpled, hair all over toilet, in shower and sink, dirty sock in bathroom, trash in the trash can and leftover food and drinks in the fridge. Thank goodness I always bring my own disinfectant spray and wipes. Those rumpled sheets though . Had a great experience there from May 24th - May 31st. Was visiting a US ARMY MILITARY brother of mine from 1973-1976. The staff was friendly and professional. I was there the first week of August for the AA Aggieland . First , I want to say that Amber in housekeeping was very helpful . That being said , Tressa and Alison were rude . Very rude ! Not one time , did they check on us. They never helped with any of our concerns, it was always the front desk . Throughout the whole time we were there , everything was so unorganized. No one knew where to put the trash . It was just chaotic. Trying to figure out these things and having to continue to ask front desk staff it took my time away from the convention. Well, I was there with a AAU basketball team, and my bed was horribke, the staff was nice, but they never accommodated me, the hotel is beautiful, clean, & clean my room however smelled of urine, it was a horrible weekend , they couldn't put me in another room so I was stuck in that horrible urine smelling room the whole weekend, I filed a complaint and requested a refund but they declined stating that their maintenance guy laid in the bed "and it was fine", so they took his word and satisfaction over mine "the Customer. ....If you stay there stay away from room 309, it smells of urine by the sofa area and the mattress is bad!!!! read more

this hotel has very poor service and the man at the front desk needs manners. their parking lots are poorly labeled and set up. i unknowingly parked in this parking lot thinking it was for a restaurant and my car got towed. when we came out to our car gone we walked to the hotel and asked what happened. the man let us know we didn't have a parking pass and our vehicle wasn't registered. he then told us that we were the 10th vehicle this happened to and proceeded to laugh about it. we were very visibly upset and it was just flat out disrespectful for the man to laugh in our faces over something that was a genuine mistake. we then asked if he knew the number for the tow truck company and he said he didn't know and that he thinks it was on a sign outside somewhere. after walking we finally found it. if that many people have gotten towed tonight alone then there is obviously a problem with the placement of the signs. i understand every mistake has its consequences but i think the employee could have handled it a little bit better and that if it is such a big problem that the hotel would do something to help fix it. read more

As far a the hotel itself I may have rated this hotel a little higher but buyer BEWARE!!! If you use a 3rd party to book your hotel such as Hotels.com or Expedia. This hotel seems to think that it's okay to move you to a 'sister' hotel because they want your room for a large group that was coming in even though I placed my reservation, have a 'guaranteed' confirmation & paid 2 months prior. I was not notified of the change until the day BEFORE I was to arrive and it was by EMAIL. If I had been called, I would have explained that I was actually part of that group that they were trying to accommodate - I just used a 3rd party to get points. The manager basically said sorry & questioned why I used a 3rd party. Really? Why didn't they tell the people that called in 2 months after me that they were full? I was wanting to book a reservation with this hotel and I should have listened to my friends about the staff. I called to try to get more information about the rooms and to process a reservation and a man named Carter answered the phone and was very rude. He acted like I was putting him out by asking him questions, and when I asked to speak to a manager in regards to his awful attitude he stated he was the manager and that his manager above him was too busy to deal with this issue. I am very displeased with this issue. I will make sure that none of my friends or family books at this hotel and I will take this further above him. No other options so booked a room with price tag of over 200 for one Friday night. They DO NOT allow early check-in. Don't bother manager to see if they can accommodate you on this. Also, checkout they'll allow upto 1 hour late checkout. First floor is very noisy. I've stayed in Inns, Motels, Hotels for over 40 years. Not great for the price. I decided to go to a cheaper motel that offered more for less. And they accommodate you. And the other hotel was more quiet. read more
