    Rip towel
    Antonette B.

Food is okay. Complimentary breakfast(Full) provided. Service is okay. Ambiance is okay. Main lobby is full of love- holiday decor was nice. Thank you. Room is gorgeous. I love the small living room that connected to the bedroom. We were able to relax while watching a movie. When you been driving for 20 hrs + with to different hotels experienced it's like a wow!! But when using towels than has stained and rip, they still let the guest use is disgusting. Be careful of the flooring by the entrance door to the bathroom. It's slippery my fiancée almost fell. Pic's is provided below.

No issues if you have pets. That's the only thing making this a three star unfortunately. Driving through Texas back to Colorado and we wanted to stop. Food options nearby. Large parking lot for any sized vehicle. Even additional parking for trailers or motor homes. This Best Western really needs a facelift. Everything feels very cramped in the lobby/lounge/breakfast area. They have a pool but it was New Year's Eve so we just slept. Lots of entrances all around the building for quick entry to your room is a plus. On second hand, not a bad spot. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. The common areas as well as the rooms were kept clean. Bit of a weird location right off the state road but driving through or visiting family it gets the job done. Not a complainer bed or pillow wise personally. I slept well after driving up from Dallas. Television had a ton of channels to choose from. Thanks for the memories 2019. It was weird to be in Amarillo Texas with the hotel called Santa Fe. Oh well.

Staying here for 1 night on a road trip while covid 19 . Overall the room is comfy and well equipped, they serve breakfast in a grab n go bag which is a nice touch . I was gonna give it 4 stars , how ever , I found a hair on the toilet before we even used it . I expected that during the pandemic hotels wold work extra hard on cleaning .

I was so pleased with my experience here. Andrea was working front desk and assisting with breakfast, offering high quality, personalized service to every single guest. They individually wrapped the breakfast items and had someone cooking scrambled eggs to order. Very impressed with the freshness. We were provided with toothpaste & mouthwash upon request. The entire process was so easy. The only issue I found was that the comforter is very thin so you will need to bring or request an extra blanket! Overall the room was very nice!

Here's the dirt road thieves use to get in and out of the back parking lot without detection.

Aside from the hospitality, I am guessing the kickback hour is a big draw as well. They are also pet friendly. We were on a roadtrip to Colorado and decided to spend the night on our way back. There were 2 tour buses when we arrived and it looked like we just missed the crowd at check-in. The front desk folks were an epitome of Texas hospitality. Friendly, laid back and the ladies just made us feel so welcome. We were given 3 drink coupons each for kickback hour. Our 2 queen room on the 2nd floor didn't have much of a view but it was homey and quiet. Kickback hour was busy but staff were surprisingly very accommodating. Their margaritas will give you a buzz. They have hot food items, soup and a salad for the complimentary light dinner. For those that have not stayed at a Drury Inn before, the kickback hour is similar to Embassy Suites' evening reception, but WAY better. We slept surprisingly well, considering the hotel's proximity to the highway. We had no problems with the ac either. Breakfast was better than your typical hotel breakfast with a bunch of options. We did not get to use the other facilities because we had to head out early. This was our first time staying at a Drury property. I'm normally a Hilton and Marriott girl but I'll definitely choose Drury if there is one available in my future destinations. We also appreciate the military discount they offer. Thanks for a memorable stay!

One of the biggest issues was the lack of consistent air conditioning throughout the building, which made common areas feel uncomfortable at times. I also found the terrace layout inconvenient since there are no stairs providing direct access, making it less practical than expected. Unfortunately, the room had a funky odor when I arrived that never completely went away during my stay. While the staff was courteous and the location was convenient, the overall experience didn't match the quality I expected. With some renovations and improved upkeep, this hotel could be a much better place to stay.

Starlight Canyon - Mesquite room hot tub (10/9/2022)

I am the single mom who brought her kids here to share the Mesquite room on October 9-10, 2022. This bed and breakfast is located in a somewhat remote area of Amarillo, Texas. The surrounding landscape is a bit reminiscent of Palo Duro Canyon - which is just a short drive away - but not in an extreme way that the Lone Star state park yields. The view from the hot tub at 7:30PM was amazing with a glorious display of sunset colors. Robes were provided behind the bathroom door. Near the pond on the old red, white, and blue amusement park ride chair, we found a walking stick. A friendly orange Tabby cat kept returning to our front door. My 8 and 9-year-old couldn't resist petting the stray feline. We weren't crazy about the continental breakfast which comprised of a cherry turnover, Yoplait yogurt, and Tropicana apple juice so we'll pass on that if we don't stay on a morning when they offer a hot meal. Just a couple of other cons: I leave to pick up pizza in town and someone takes my spot in front of our door. Lol. Also, my stupid Sprint/T-mobile coverage was terrible here. The other accomodations definitely overrode the somewhat lacking Monday morning breakfast: quiet neighborhood, calm weather, microwave, mini fridge, iron & board, lots of programs on the TV, free Wi-Fi, walk-in shower, and private gated area with code access.

We stayed in the Pinion. The positives. It's remote and really close to Palo Duro Canyon (18 minutes) That was nice. It's about 12 minutes from the Big Texan. It's in a pretty setting. The bed was comfy. We stay at B&B's because there is a level of expectation where hospitality takes over and you feel like you were being treated like royalty. This is not that place. It almost felt like our stay was a little bit of an inconvenience. The room is small and very dated, but covered in wood plank and not very clean. A lot of dust. This particular room did not have a shower and only a bath tub with the hot water trickles out. I'm not joking. It took about 30 minutes to fill the bathtub. Tip 1. Make sure to ask if the room you are booking has a shower if you're needing a shower for medical reasons or handicap accessibility. According to one of the reviews, and in their pictures, there appeared to be a nice shower in the mesquite, but we weren't given the chance to stay there. Once you get in the room, you're given two towels for the bath and two towels for the hot tub. I uncovered the hot tub to see that the water was very cloudy and it wasn't a result of the bubbles. So I put the cover right back on. They don't give you anything with respect to toiletries when it comes to soap or shampoo or lotions or bath bomb. So it really does feel like you're not being pampered. Bed And Breakfast should always feel like you're being pampered. And inside the room, you're not giving any type of bottled water, filtered water and so you rely on the bathroom sink in the bathroom tub. Which I thought was really bad. The outside of the room was covered in Pineneedles on the walkway, and so we tracked some into a room. When we were trying to get into the door, some even to get into the wheels of our suitcase. It was kind of annoying. The area is just really dated and not well kept. However, that does give it a very rustic feel and so if you're into that kind of thing that it may suit your fancy. It does have a really cute cat that keeps you company in the random deer that you will see from time to time. Overall, I'm sure it meets the needs of a specific clientele that would enjoy that atmosphere but when I go to a bed-and-breakfast, I consider myself to be high maintenance. So they certainly could meet the need a specific individuals however, it's not a place that I would really return to .

Her response was NEVER, again friend asked will it ever open and her response was NOPE. I will never stay there again. Honestly, we went in and out a lot and not once did we see her smile in the 2 days of staying there. It would probably be in your best interest for your hotel by getting rid of her. I didn't catch her name because she didn't have a badge on. She was working the desk on Monday the 23rd of March at 4:00 in the afternoon. I could give a description of her but maybe you can figure out who she was by the date and time. Also, if you advertise a bar it should be open. Ridiculous!!!! I'm sure this will never make it to the right people because it looks like there are a lot of complaints about the check in process.

Third: On my third night, the only working elevator was in "test" mode, according to the manager and was off limits, with no answer of when testing would be completed. Fourth: received my bill via email on the morning I checked out, when I was already at my office and was overcharged by $300, due to the room type change. That was not explained to me when the room type was changed at check-in. And what is more odd as the fact that the room type was a downgrade, and I was still charged more! Fifth: I tried calling the hotel to work out. The wrong charges in the hotel. Phone line was busy, just received a busy signal. So I had to go back to the hotel in person to dispute the charges. After I went ahead and told her the other issues of the hotel, she said she would just get those fixed and never apologized. The entire time I was here with all of the challenges not one staff member actually said "I'm sorry". I will never stay here and I would never recommend anyone to stay here. They said they could not use the room for anyone else because of our pet. But they refunded our money and now can't use the room. And Mark claims I have written other reviews, but this is my first. I guess Mark doesn't mind refusing service to loyal customers who are Gold members. I guess since they sell out occasionally, they can ignore loyal customers, but that is wholly up to Mark in this case. So, Mark refunded the room and we left. He claimed it was because I have left multiple negative reviews - which is impossible, this is my first one. It will be my only one, because we will never stay there again. Mark spoke very rudely publicly to my wife. He never offered to have engineering check the room. No problem there Mark, my wife is already at another Hilton property in Amarillo. One that cares about their customers, has a welcoming front desk staff.
