Our stay here was phenomenal! I'm very cheap when it comes to hotels and I normally get a motel for like $100, but my spouse got this hotel room for $150 a night and it was well worth the money. Rooms were spacious, clean, good smelling, and the air conditioner was super powered. My kid told me to also relay on here that she's a terrible sleeper and she slept like a baby in that bed last night. Lots of linen options for anyone whether you sleep hot or sleep cold. The windows open and have a window screen to prevent bugs from getting in. The room is very clean and they did fancy, pretty things with the towels and the shower curtain to make it feel a little extra special. There were amenities such as an ironing board, a hair dryer, fairly big size room fridge, a microwave, a desk, a chair, a bench, washer and dryer, shampoo conditioner and body wash, fancy soap and lotion, and more. The pool is big and clean and they have specific pool towels available. The free breakfast was amazing, probably the best one I've been to. It includes Texas shaped pancakes with toppings, lots of condiment options including lots of sugar free options and sugar substitute packets, 10ish different flavors of tea bags, eggs sausage and biscuits with gravy, yogurt with toppings, lots of baked goods including muffins, bagels, Manifesto brand brownies, etc. they had 3 flavors of cream cheese, mini Nutella and peanut butter packets, fresh fruit, and more. They also had fresh, cold water and 3 types of juice. It was amazing as far as hotel breakfast buffets go, and it was complimentary. Everyone working there was friendly and quick and kept up with making sure everyone's needs more met. I got pictures of the food available for breakfast and of the facilities. Lots of parking available. No elevator but the doors are outside the stair shafts and so it wasn't very far to walk to get from our car to our hotel room. The pool has one of those ADA compliant motorized seats for people who need to be lowered into the pool. I think that's a nice touch because most hotel pools don't have that available. The roughest part of a road trip is thinking, ehh - I think we can keep going another 10 miles - and then you realize- your body is TIRED! We weren't trying to stop over in Texas, but we did and had to. It was already past midnight and we needed a quick check in for our little family and small dog. We called and booked the reservation over the phone, and we had a room under 20 minutes upon check-in. The parking lot was surprisingly small, but we found parking closest to our room. The room itself was as clean as you would hope for! The complimentary continental breakfast was great and they had cute Texas shaped and Texas sized waffles! Bed and pillows were incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Loud noisy old style heat/ac unit. We checked in late afternoon after a very long drive and unwelcoming reception clerk offered us lobby coffee. I asked how old it was and she said it was from breakfast. Breakfast itself was unappealing. Single slices of bread, some hard, were wrapped so tight in plastic wrap you couldn't unwrap without difficult. Hard half bagels had the same treatment. Yogurt dispenser instead of cartons . Miserable experience. On the way back we stayed at a different Amarillo Best Western costing slightly more and the difference was night and day. read more

No issues if you have pets. That's the only thing making this a three star unfortunately. Driving through Texas back to Colorado and we wanted to stop. Food options nearby. Large parking lot for any sized vehicle. Even additional parking for trailers or motor homes. This Best Western really needs a facelift. Everything feels very cramped in the lobby/lounge/breakfast area. They have a pool but it was New Year's Eve so we just slept. Lots of entrances all around the building for quick entry to your room is a plus. On second hand, not a bad spot. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. The common areas as well as the rooms were kept clean. Bit of a weird location right off the state road but driving through or visiting family it gets the job done. Not a complainer bed or pillow wise personally. I slept well after driving up from Dallas. Television had a ton of channels to choose from. Thanks for the memories 2019. This particular Best Western was probably the best I stayed at on my recent trip. It is easy to get to right off the interstate. I called ahead to request a first floor room the front desk clerk said that would be no problem at all. She was extremely nice and accommodating on the phone. I arrived and there was a new front desk clerk but he was well aware of my request for a first floor room and had my keys already ready to go. Kelie or however you spell her name at the front desk is one of the most un-helpful and inhospitable hotel receptionist I've met. I've worked in the hospitality industry and I would never be so unwilling to be slightly helpful or help to correct a mistake. My husband failed to make sure the room we booked in hotel that advertised as pet friendly was actually a pet friendly room. When I arrived after driving 12 hours with two dogs, she said "your room isn't pet friendly and I'm all booked up. I can't recommend any where in town." (AKA "I don't care enough about my job to make sure the people who book with us are happy when they leave, especially if they aren't going to pay me for anything.") A week after returning home from a 24 day roadtrip, we realized that were missing a piece of luggage: a Vera Bradley duffle bag which contained my wife's Olympus Mirrorless Camera, two lenses and photo memories from 2-months of travel. We contacted BW Santa Fe Inn on the 8th day after our one-night stay. We were initially told that our luggage had been held for a week, and then put up- stairs in a locked storage room. We attempted to contact management at least six times during the next 3 days, to make arrangements for payment to ship our dufflebag and contents back to us. (No return phone calls from management.) When I finally reached a manager, she said they'd tried to leave messages, but my wife's voicemail box was full. (If so, why not text message us??) Then, she told me that they donated our luggage to Good Will (and never looked in the bag ... ?) Research shows that hotels/motels have specific handling procedures re: lost and found items of obvious value: and typically hold them for a minimum of 30 to 60 days. BW Santa Fe Inn mgt saw fit to "donate" our goods in only 8 days! (We contacted Goodwill, and were told by their management that our VB duffle bag and contents were never received at their store. In the last 4 months I've been in contact with BW Corporate, Amarillo Convention & Visitors Center, the BW Santa Fe Inn Owner/Franchisee as well as the aforementioned manager. She recently acknowledged "the mistake on our part" in a letter accompanied by a new VB duffle bag. No comment about camera, lenses & priceless memories. read more

Recently stayed here on a road trip. The location was clean and well kept. They did not have a good snack selection sadly but it's a small hotel and not something that makes or breaks the stay. TRAVELERS BEWARE!!! The room was okay. Service was okay. What wasn't okay was that our car and Uhaul truck were broken into in the back parking lot. The police said they are out here all the time because of break-ins to trucks and trailers, moving trucks, etc. and that they have recommended several times that Best Western secure their back parking lot where large vehicles and trailers must park. I'll attach a photo to help you understand why you should NEVER park your vehicles here. There's a field behind the lot (no fence, no lights) with large dirt mounds to hide, and a dirt road leading right up to the lot from another street. Anyone can do what these thieves did, which was to use that dirt road as an exit. In the photo you'll see some of our belongings along the dirt road exit. I understand this isn't technically their fault, and BW cooperated with the police by giving them access to security footage from the main building. However, the cameras are too far away and the lot is too dark at night to get a good image of criminals breaking into their customer's vehicles. In fact, the officer said a similar vehicle to the one on the camera footage was reported at another break in there, but they know how to keep their license plate out of view of the cameras and also how to stay hidden in the dark. A truck comes by, cases which vehicle to break into, they drop off the thieves in the dark corner of the lot, and they pick up the thieves back on the dirt road after the crime is committed. Translation = These scumbags know they can get away with breaking into vehicles here because the security measures suck, so they hit this place on a regular basis. read more

Wow! What a gorgeous room. And facility overall. A little hard to find missed it first time but after getting our gas, we found it in no time. They have all the wonderful amenities. An indoor pool, fresh coffee 24 hours, laundry facilities, room service, fresh baked cookies, and a hot breakfast. We got a great discount with AAA and rewards membership. It almost made me want to stay forever, it felt so cozy. After a long day of driving it was nice to have an upgrade from the previous night and the extra cost was minimal. I usually use Best Western every time I travel, however, this last experience was pretty upsetting. My room was clean and the location was ideal, but I prepaid for a 2 night stay then was charged an additional 124 dollars after check out because their pricing changed. At check in, i was assured that my card would not be charged again unless their was damage to my room. There was no damage, and when i called to follow up with the additional charge the employee assured me it wasn't a damage charge, just an upcharge because their prices change overnight. I understand that for the most part, but i would suggest making sure all staff are on the same page because it's frustrating being told no more money is due then getting charged an additional payment. For a 2 night stay i almost spent 400 dollars which seems unreasonable but it is what it is. read more

Oh dear. I don't think I slept for more than 15 minutes at a time without waking up. We hadn't planned on staying in Amarillo, we just hit our target for that day very early so we kept on driving. Amarillo is basically the last bit of civilization for 90 miles. So either you stay the night there or you make a trek across a desolate part of Texas. In retrospect I kind of wish we went with desolate Texas! I seriously thought our car would be broken into and all of our belongings would be gone. I wouldn't walk on the ground without shoes. I wanted to put a towel on the pillow but I didn't think it would change things. I remember last time I stayed in Amarillo it was at a Hampton Inn I think. Stay there, no matter how expensive it is. Would have been nice to know. I had to drag a very heavy suit case up 2 flights of stairs. So if you plan on staying here, stay on the first floor. After driving 8 hours in heavy rain I was exhausted, so struggling to get my bag to my room was the last thing I wanted to do. Well, the building seemed nice, but we got a rude awakening when we laid down on the bed. It was as hard as a rock. I have slept in a lot of hotels, on really nasty beds, but this one was the worst. I couldn't sleep through the night and by morning my back was completely messed up. When we got up in the morning and went up front to dine at the "Deluxe" continental breakfast we were greeted by one of the weakest continental breakfast offerings I have ever seen. The orange juice machine was broken, they had a few bagels, muffins, and biscuits and gravy along with the obligatory coffee. All in all, I am disappointed that I paid $59 a night to stay there and I definitely won't again. read more

Could not browse the Internet at all. Not useful. Hotel is very near highway. There is a lot of noise. Room is small and lighting is poor. Fan in bathroom sounds like a 747 jet engine. On my drive up from Louisiana stopped here. Room is clean, big. Only draw back is that window faces highway and you can hear the traffic which sucks. The parking lot sucks not many parking spaces. What's more fun than staying at a hotel where the wifi doesn't work , the curtains don't close, and some of the furniture is missing? I'll tell you what.... The excitement you feel when you lay down to rest and discover your bed feels more like a box spring than a mattress . When I first pulled up to the hotel the blue lights made me forget all about the Camelot Inn I just passed. Being opened 24/7 is also a major bonus. The pool looked great, but for some reason was not opened passed 10, so I did not get to going it. The room was also great and one of the channels had Star Trek, so the TV gets a 10/10 rating. The bathroom came complete with soap dispensers in the shower and even a shower cap. The only problem was that you had to go down to the main desk for hand soap. Then they gave us the much improved face wash instead. Breakfast was great except that it ended at 9 which is way to early for the average human to be awake.
