Stay here about 8-10 times a year as we travel through Amarillo. That will change now. My wife checked into a room. Constant banging on wall, so she asked for a different room. Front desk refused, manager, Mark Argenbright refused. They said my wife was unable to move because she was traveling with our dog and they were unable to clean the room. I find this really weird. They said they could not use the room for anyone else because of our pet. But they refunded our money and now can't use the room. And Mark claims I have written other reviews, but this is my first. I guess Mark doesn't mind refusing service to loyal customers who are Gold members. I guess since they sell out occasionally, they can ignore loyal customers, but that is wholly up to Mark in this case. So, Mark refunded the room and we left. He claimed it was because I have left multiple negative reviews - which is impossible, this is my first one. It will be my only one, because we will never stay there again. Mark spoke very rudely publicly to my wife. He never offered to have engineering check the room. Honestly, I am just stunned by the behavior of a manager toward guests they obviously don't care about. As my wife left, Mark said across the lobby - "good luck finding somewhere else to stay." No problem there Mark, my wife is already at another Hilton property in Amarillo. One that cares about their customers, has a welcoming front desk staff. I've been Diamond or Gold for almost 20 years and have never been treated by a Hilton staff member anywhere like they do at Embassy Suites Amarillo. read more

I booked a king studio suite room at the Embassy Suites, where I have stayed many times and not had any problems. This time was such a horrible experience that I want to let people know what they will be getting if they book this room. It was very dingy and smelled old and musty. It was so small, we could barely walk around the bed and we couldn't sit at the desk because the chairs were right up against the couch. I asked to be moved but they said no, you got what you booked. Which was true, but I had no idea they had rooms like this. I walked into this room after waiting to be checked in for 6 hours because their computer system was down. It was very disappointing. And we paid $481 for 2 nights. So not worth it!! read more

The Embassy Suites was a great hotel for us to stay in during our road trip vacation. This Embassy Suite was missing something that all I've seen at all other Embassy's where I stayed at...an Atrium. My wife loved this property as she commented that more Embassy Suites should like this one without an atrium. She hates other Embassy Suites because of the atrium. This property is located in Downtown Amarillo, away from I-40. Check in was easy. We were given a room on a higher floor. I don't know if we were upgraded or not. As a lowly gold member, I didn't expect any upgrades. The room was everything that reserved with a king bed, adequate work space and tables, and a sofa. Bathroom had a nice shower. Toiletries were from ZERO%. They have a nice gym with ellipticals, treadmills, and dumb bells. The equipment was clean. Sanitizing wipes were available for cleaning the machines. They also had a nice pool that I did not use. Breakfast is served downstairs in the morning. I like Embassy Suite's breakfast with their cooked to order eggs. The nice chef made me his special eggs with chorizo. They had a big selection of breakfast items. It was a nice hotel. I wish more Embassy Suite's were like this one no with atrium, so that I can stay with this brand. It had everything that both my wife and I wanted in a hotel. read more

Finishing up my stay here and had a really good experience. The staff and service is top tier, everyone is friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. Well stocked snack bar and access to a good restaurant and bar in the hotel, as well as complimentary drink vouchers at check in. Hotel has a very modern feel and good amenities. This place is HUGE! Its is the perfect stop between Dallas and Colorado driving with kids. There was a gentleman that helped us unload named Bear who gave off the best "Grampa Bear" vibes that the girls instantly took a liking to him. However, their valet needs serious work. We waited 20 minutes to just pull into the driveway from a busy street at 8pm...because some moron parked his car in the front and just left it there. Valet was unable to do anything, and that strikes me as a problem. The car flow needs to be managed better by moving cars out of the way so others are able to park. The breakfast is delicious! Definitely make time for it. However, it is utterly hectic, not enough seating or space to actually pick up food from the space. Its family focused hotel and space which is great for road trips, however, this needs to be reworked. When we drive through again, 100% will stay here because it had great service from Bear, the room service and the rooms were perfect for the 4 of us. read more

First off a huge thank you to all of the Embassy Suites Amarillo staff. The front desk, bar staff, engineers, valet and restaurant staff were all beyond helpful and friendly. Any question we asked or assistance we needed was greeted with a smile and done right away. Decky in the restaurant area was so sweet and lovely to chat with. When you walk into the lobby it smells and looks very clean. Rooms are great as well. I was placed on the 5th floor which is the Premier floor. This apparently means you get a tray with an array of free snacks and beverages. Bed was super comfy. Also another reason Embassy Suites are my favorite is the complimentary evening happy hours and breakfast. I highly recommend staying here. read more

They charged me $28.50 one month after my stay and after four phone calls they still can't show me an invoice. I left two VM for a manager to call me back and they have not called. HORRIBLE SERVICE and I still have not seen any type of proof that I spent the $28.50 there. read more

Great location. Clean, well appointed rooms and friendly staff. Only downside is the hotel's signature scent is so overpowering in some parts of the common areas that it will make you gag. Just need to turn it down. Other than that, an enjoyable, comfy stay. read more

This is our favorite embassy in Amarillo. Their rating says three stars but we feel like it is wrong The first time we came here, we just needed a spot to stay. Every time we have come back through, we do not look for any other hotels. The staff is always nice. The location is awesome. Everything you want in a hotel. Rooms are super nice. Recommend just using valet parking because self parking is $28 and valet is only a couple dollars more. You are far away from the main drag to not have to worry about the traffic but still have access to everything you desire in Amarillo. This is a must stop! read more

Worst stay I've ever had. After paying hundreds of dollars for a top floor suite, I was told by the manager on duty, Tom Wenzel, that they operate by dorm rules. Quiet time starts at 10. Prior to that, ANY amount of noise from your neighbors is permisable. This hotel, while nice on the outside, runs like a modern day take of Animal House inside. The baseball park accross the street apparently, by the manager's OWN ADMISSION, means loud revelry is part of the package. If you are looking for peace and quiet, best look elsewhere. Also, Tom, while possessing the personality and gravitas of a bowl of tapioca pudding, will ham-fistedly tell you he's "reporting YOU to guest services" should you bring up any of this to his limited attention. read more

If I could leave a hundred stars I would. The staff were above average. They were friendly, helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond expectations. The room was fabulous. Very comfortable, well lit, and emaculately clean. The amenities were excellent and top notch. The restaurant was priced competitively to others restaurants around and the food was deliciously tasteful. I really have no complaints to offer. I am really grateful for the coffee at midnight even though it was not normally provided at that time. They went out of there way to provide me with my comforts even out of normal hours. Spent my 40th birthday here and....well it could have been better. I never understand why hotels that provide room service does not have enough staff. I decided to order a slice of strawberry shortcake but was told it would be a 45 min wait because there was only one chef. Why does a "Hilton" have only one chef?? Also 4 alcoholic drinks were $80. The room was freezing, and you couldn't control the temperature. I look forward for a redo Birthday over at Doves Rest Cabins. Hilton Who??? read more

"This is the crappiest 'nice' hotel I've ever stayed in" --my husband, 1 hour into our stay. The biggest thing about this place is that they did not tell us the water would be shut off all day the next day until far after we paid, signed papers, brought our bags in, and received our room keys after our 7 hour drive to get to Amarillo at 10:30 pm in the midst of a severe thunderstorm. Far too late to make other arrangements. Very inconvenient, highly unprofessional, and deceitful. We at least expected our pet fee or the parking fee to be waived, but they did nothing--they charged us FULL price to stay in a room with no water. It's understandable that they needed to shut the water off to make whatever repairs they needed to make, but to charge guests full price (it was expensive too) and not even offer bottled water was just shocking and I'm very disappointed in the customer service. And speaking of customer service, when I spoke with the three ladies at the front desk this morning about how it was very inconvenient that we weren't told about the water until after everything was settled, they just stared at me and slowly nodded their heads. No apologizing, no expressing their gratuity that we even stayed with them in the first place--absolutely nothing. I had to stay "Can I at least get some waters?" since I have a dog with me who hasn't had anything to drink since last night, and they all just looked at each other and until finally the one in the middle said "Yeah sure," and handed me one of the several bags of bottled water they have on display for Hilton honor members. I won't even get into the dirty floors, broken items in the room, dripping vents, or paper thin pillows. We will not be staying here again. read more

Comfortable room, modern property. Complimentary Breakfast was good and they do a nice guest reception from 4 to 6 PM with limited offerings of complementary drinks. Check in was fairly easy, although they were training a new front desk employee and the line was moving fairly slow. While only six stories high, the footprint of the building is enormous; on appearance, Embassy can accommodate large groups and busy seasons. Heard from the locals th this is best hotel in the area. Would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

This place is a gem! We've stayed in Amarillo seven times in the past year. Usually we stay along the I-40 to hit the road quicker the next day. This time we decided to try downtown Amarillo, which is only a quick several blocks north of the I-40, and we're glad we did. We got a dual Queen Suite that was large, well appointed, updated and comfortable. With the pull out sofa in the living room, it easily could accommodate a family of six. The bathroom was fantastic, with the only complaint of the whole stay being that it took a really long time for the warm water to happen. I honestly thought the water heater was broken. It is in downtown and is likely a renovated old building (although it doesn't look like it), so the heater might be in the basement or something....how hotels used to be built. But, once hot water arrived the shower was wonderful. The included breakfast was a nice touch, but being vegan, the only thing we could eat was oatmeal with some raisins and a bowl of fruit. Hilton could do a great service by offering vegan options for their free breakfasts chain wide. It's not that hard to sauté up some tofu, make some hash browns or potatoes without butter or something along those lines. But: that's no fault of this property, just Hilton in general. The property itself is attached to a convention center, and seems appropriate for that. It was large and open in the common areas and was very welcoming. There was a heated indoor pool that we didn't get to take advantage of that looked very welcoming. This will become our go to for Amarillo stays going forward. It was a nice change to stay in downtown, as it's really charming and homey there. Highly recommend visiting the restaurants there, too. Well done, Embassy Suites Amarillo! read more

The location is convenient as you're right downtown. The staff were okay. Thanks to a digital key, I didn't have to converse with the staff much besides valet, but the one lady I spoke to about the water didn't enunciate clearly or act at all interested to be handling Guest Services. The only issues I had were the water not warming up quickly-- it took turning on the bar sink, the bathroom sink, and the shower, then waiting 30 minutes for the water to reach warm (not even hot). Also, there aren't fans in the bathroom to combat the steam, and the pillows are soft but not firm enough to ensure a great night's sleep. I kept adjusting and folding pillows to look for a decent firmness/height from the bed to be comfortable. For a new and nicer hotel option around town, I simply expected better. read more

What a pretty hotel. Luxurious looking actually when you pull in and even the lobby is so pretty. Its smack in downtown. I am hesitant though to give it a 4. It could be a 5 by looks from the outside and lobby but I gave it a 3 because of these reasons~ When we entered our room it was so nice and spacious. Modern looking just nice. But when we checked the restroom we found hairs on the sink and in the shower yikes. Not our colored hairs either. It's minor and can be overlooked but not now during covid. In addition there are crumbs on the floor and in the halls if you look closely. Meaning they aren't cleaning or vacuuming as much as they are supposed to. It's noticeable if you are looking esp at a time like this. In addition when we pulled out the sofa bed, it looked like it wasn't even changed. Someone has slept in those sheets and its still on there yuck. We quickly pulled it off and thank God there were extra bedding in the closet. But that just shows they did not even check the pull out nor cleaned it :/ Plus we expected more for breakfast take out other than a banana, water and a muffin. I know all Hiltons are doing this because we've stayed in others like Hampton Inn along our road trip owned by Hilton and yet they gave a tad more than just 3 items. But this is a huge Embassy Suites which usually made omelettes with loads of ayce food. So we expected more from them not less than a Hampton Inn. Hyatts are giving out hot breakfasts with milk, almond milk, soymilk, yogurt, burritos, eggs of all kinds and sausages etc in take out form and so much more things they've been serving before. Some even just gsve a mcmuffin heated and juice to go. Simple as that. It can be done Embassy Suites. What happened? And the A.C here seems to have only like 1 setting- either 75 is hot or 74 is cold and it doesnt shut off lol so all night it was a battle there Little things like that add up. Especially now. It has to be clean. Not just look nice in the lobby. But all in all it was a good stay. Huge rooms. Nice modern look. Soft comfty beds. Did enjoy all those parts. Wouldn't have minded staying longer if it was cleaner and the A.C. regulated itself. If they can fix all those minor issues we shall be back! It's such a shame because it's a rather pretty hotel. read more

Wow, what a big of a difference this Embassy suites was to the one in Colorado Springs. This location in Amarillo is considered in their downtown area across the street from the Amarillo convention center. As soon as we walked in the room was just as clean and cold temperature wise as the lobby. Super clean, cold, modern, and enjoyable. We really like the split version of having a living space in the front and bedroom in the back. The bar door style was cute but got annoying real quick because it was just slam into the stopper. The only small issue I had with this one was room service for dinner. As I was placing my order they asked how many people were with me. I asked for 4 glasses of water, and I know I was clear about it, and she stated ok 2 glasses. I chuckled and told her no I need 4. The pool was nice for the kids, and they have sonic ice in their ice machine!!!! We'll be back Embassy Suites Amarillo,TX read more

We enjoy the Embassy, decent rates and love the location, but last two times their HVAC units are messed up. Both times we enter our room or the public restrooms and it's burning up. In the winter they have to have the heaters going full blast. 2nd floor hallways are cooking. Seems like they can't figure out or regulate the temp in the room, common areas. Bartenders also seem clueless about drinks or proper mixology. read more

Worst Hotel Stay of My Life I traveled for business for 6 years, so I know of what I speak. This hotel is the worst. We got food poisoning in their restaurant--after trying to walk to dinner and realizing the neighborhood wad not safe. There was no hot water in my shower the next morning. I talked to two people at the hotel, including the manager. She accused me of lying about the food poisoning. When I mentioned the hot water, she said they'd fix it, and I said "I don't want anyone in the room right now. My husband is finally asleep after a long night in the bathroom." and she acted like I was being difficult. read more

Terrible experience with my family. Customer service is non existent. Room had broken toilet, dirty shower and missing sheets. Manager on duty was very rude and could care less to make anything right for my family. Paid more for Embassy Suits to have nice stay and celebrate my twin boys birthday. I strongly recommend trying a different hotel in the area until management can be changed out at the Amarillo Embassy Suites. Waiting for GM Tom to give me a call. Travelers beware!!! Do not stay here. Only one cashier for checkin and checkout... Bugs in the room!!! Valet service trashed my car and lets dents along the driver side!!! Service for resolution seemed great at first. They smile to your face and tell you they'll take care of it. Then you receive an email that says there is nothing they can do to. Wow we were so pleasantly pleased with how nice our stay was. For so many years Embassy Suites was considered a high end stay with a so many great options like their cocktail hour and Ana I got breakfast buffet. For the past 5 years we found the chain to have lost its luster. We stopped staying at any of them. This locations staff from the extra care of the Valet to the staff cleaning, serving breakfast and a personal conversation instituted by the manager asking how our stay were exceptionally efficient and gracious. This facility was very clean and classy. We loved the sauna and the breakfast! Thank you for doing such a great job. We are hoping this is a new corporate direction! Couldn't have found a better hotel! Arrived from Kansas City Sunday evening and most restaurants were closed, but the hotel bar was still serving food! Had a nice meal and the beverage selection was top notch as well. The bartender was wonderful. The hotel seems new, with a very well appointed lobby, nice waterfall installation and an upscale contemporary feel. Our room was a spacious suite with a very comfortable bed. Slept like a rock. And my wife greatly appreciated the hot full breakfast buffet that was doled out to her. A nice surprise in this time of Covid. Highly recommend this hotel. read more

Hotel is very nice (newly built). Staff in Restaurant could benefit from basic customer service skills. We went down for breakfast and upon walking to the reception stand, two restaurant staff members looked at us, didn't acknowledge us and just let us stand there for awhile until another guest walked up to us and told us that we missed breakfast hours and they were closed. Another gentleman had been standing there a few minutes before we arrived there and he was VERY upset because staff had not informed him either. This is truly unacceptable and we won't be staying there again. Customer service is what makes such a big difference in a travelers experience. We were tired, hungry, and in need of a nice breakfast without having to go out in the snow to find a different restaurant. Valet drivers were very courteous. Front desk clerk was nice. When we called the front desk in the evening to inquire about the robe and slippers (prices for use), the clerk was unable to give us answers. It is never good to hang up feeling more confused than when you initially called. read more

This hotel is pure luxury. My husband & I were not prepared for Embassy Suite to be this luxurious. The breakfast was nothing like the complementary we normally get at other Embassy Suites. Every staff member was super friendly and accommodating. The room was very nicely Appointed and comfortable the best mattress we have ever slept on in our life...so good that I am purchasing the same one when returning home from our trip.
