When I first pulled up to the hotel the blue lights made me forget all about the Camelot Inn I just passed. Being opened 24/7 is also a major bonus. The pool looked great, but for some reason was not opened passed 10, so I did not get to going it. The room was also great and one of the channels had Star Trek, so the TV gets a 10/10 rating. The bathroom came complete with soap dispensers in the shower and even a shower cap. The only problem was that you had to go down to the main desk for hand soap. Then they gave us the much improved face wash instead. Breakfast was great except that it ended at 9 which is way to early for the average human to be awake. The lady cooking the food was amazing and very friendly. Overall it was a good stay! read more

Has anyone else had a problem with the strong cleaning products used? We probably did the worlds fastest checkin/checkout 2nite. We weren't on the room more than 10-15 minutes. But the cleaning product made my head hurt, eyes sting n couldn't catch my breath. I have allergies/asthma BUT have never encountered this smell before. read more

Pulled back the sheets on one of the beds and the sheets were dirty. The other bed also had hair in it, but looked fresh (I'm telling myself that so I don't Lysol my body) so I'm guessing the sheets were never changed and they're just making the beds . Upon arrival I also noticed that there was dried pee on the toilet seat. read more

Women traveling alone should stay away from this place and DO NOT bring your children here. This is the kind of place that, if you can sleep at all, it will be with one eye open. This motel shouldn't bear the Best Western name or be able to use that name to charge $122 per night while the equally slummy neighbor motels charge just $45.99. I've been a BW rewards member for 15 years and have stayed in BWs all over the country. This is the worst. This motel is just as disturbing as the area of town it's located in. It's creepy like a 1980's David Lynch film, or--as my companion put it--like a seedy strip club. The lobby, halls, and rooms are decorated with blue neon lights, mirrors, glass, and black, gray, and purple interior. The air is thick with a throat-burning, powder-scented air freshener, making it difficult to breathe. Opening the window in doesn't help, as the outside air is just as heavy with emissions from all the trucks on the freeway. The eerie atmosphere and outrageous cost are just the beginning. My companion is in a wheelchair, so the specifics of this review are broken down into two categories: ADA Specific Issues and General Issues. --ADA Specific Issues-- * The handicap parking spaces are nothing more than regular parking spaces near the front of the building. There is not enough space to place a wheelchair beside the car, transfer, and wheel out of the space. Thus, we had to take up two spaces in the back, near the unlit dirt parking lot. * The shower chair is not safe. The legs are unstable. The bolt holding the legs to the seat is loose and cannot be tightened by hand. * The valve that controls the shower stream from the tall shower head to the shorter ADA shower head is located on the head of the tall shower head. There is no way for a person in a wheelchair to reach it! * There is no bar on the side of the toilet. There is one behind the toilet, but a person with extreme needs would not be able to transfer to the toilet or hold themselves up while sitting there. --General Issues-- * As mentioned in the introduction, the air is thick with a throat-stinging power air-freshener, making it very difficult to breathe. * The front door and bathroom doors of the room are full of unused holes and construction markings. * The lighting in our room was so creepy (adding to the eerie feeling from the dark, seedy decor) that we opted to use the TV to light the room instead of using the lamps. But even after we turned the TV off, the room was fully lit; please read on... * The door is hung incorrectly, so it does not close flush with the door jam. Thus, the bright lights from the hall shine right through the long, triangular-shaped crack that results from the door hanging askew. * There is a flashing strobe light coming from the back of the TV that cannot be covered or stopped. The bureau that the TV sits on is too large and heavy to move to unplug the TV. That strobe light woke me up continually throughout the night. * The bright lights from the parking lot shone right into our window, and the drapes do not cover the window. Thus, the room was lit all night. Between this and the strobe light behind the TV, it was impossible to fall into a deep sleep. * The pillows are large, square, and foam; like laying on beach balls. * The walls are very thin, so we listened to the person in the room next to us snore all night. For the record, this review and the 1-star rating is entirely about the motel location and amenities and does not reflect the service in any way. We stayed here for one night on our way to Dallas. The hotel is super cute and completely updated. Our room had new everything and was very nice. The breakfast was so great! It was biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, a granola bar, yogurt, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, and a Texas shaped waffle maker complete with toppings, juice, and coffee! It was so nice to get such a nice meal before hitting the road. The check in and check out was amazingly smooth. The staff was so professional and kind. Got a pet room here one my way east. Compared to the tiny room the night prior in Flagstaff, this room was gigantic! Room was remodeled, and pretty clean. The only downside to this location for me was that I found only one place that would deliver food there. After driving for so long, that last thing it wanted to do was drive again to pick up food. Reservations only seem to guarantee Rude, Incompetent, and Inconsiderate Front Desk Staff!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FINDING SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY. Made reservations a month ago for two rooms, expressing the requirement for one handicap accessible w/ 2 beds (specifying it needed to have hand rails in the bathroom near the toilet and the tub.) Everything was confirmed and reserved. Upon checking in I asked Amber which room the handicap room was and she handed me the keys in an envelope and wrote an 'H' for Handicap on it. We put our bags in each of the rooms and went to dinner. When we returned my father went to his room and used the restroom. Unfortunately he spent 15 minutes trying to get himself off of the toilet because there were no bars because it was not a handicap room. We immediately went to the front desk where I let Amber know the situation. She kept laughing/ chuckling and telling us she had no more rooms. I told her when I made the reservations I specified one room needed to be handicap accessible with two beds. I told her I'd appreciate it if she'd stop laughing because I don't find any of it funny. I told her to cancel my reservations and refund my card. She also thought it was professional to tell potential guests coming into the lobby looking for available rooms, that I was unhappy with my room and that I was taking my sweet time getting my things out of my room, but my room would be available once I left and she cleaned the bathroom. She then proceeded to pretend to call the police to come and have me arrested stating that I was refusing to leave the property. I found out later that she lied about calling them when I called them myself, after waiting an hour to speak to them, and they informed me they never received a call from anyone at that property. We stayed at a much nicer Holiday Inn Express down the road with rooms that accommodated my father's disability. The staff was extremely courteous, knew the meaning of customer service, and unlike Best Western, know how to make a reservation based on what the customer's asking for and their requirements. The rooms were a lot cleaner as well! Apparently Best Western management will higher anyone, especially those with little to no regard for people with physical disabilities or business professionalism. read more

Yuck! We have had a lot of luck with Best Westerns on our cross country trip, but this one has completely changed our view on Best Westerns being updated and modern. The Best Western Santa Fe Inn felt dirty, and uncomfortable. The mattress felt like a concrete slab with a sheet on it and our room sounded like we were sleeping in a wind tunnel. The wifi didn't work and the curtains in the room didn't close. Our room was clearly missing the couch (that was verified in the room next to us) and was left with empty space. Worst hotel experience yet! read more

This was a good roadside hotel. The room was very spacious. We had a king size bed room, it came with a couch and lots of extra space for our pack n play. The bathroom was really clean as were the sheets. The breakfast was decent, pretty standard continental breakfast, but good biscuits and coffee. There were a couple strikes against the hotel though. The floor was really dingy and sticky, left your feet black when you walked on it. This could be because they allow pets to stay, but I didn't notice any dog or cat hair. The bed had small half sized pillows. They were fluffy and comfy, but only throw pillow sized, I didn't quite get this or understand the point. Overall pretty good little place. read more

This best western is clean and safe. They have a security camera system that looks at all lots. They have a lot for trailers. As we are moving to TX and have alot of our stuff in the car and truck woth both motorcycle thus is important. Easy to get to off I40. Also have breakfast. read more

Excellent hotel! From outside, we were a bit nervous by the bare surroundings. However, once we stepped inside, it was really very nice. The bed was comfy, the room was large, and the shower had great water pressure. We've been on the road for just shy of 2 weeks and this breakfast was by far the best. The staff was very friendly too. Only drawback is no elevator. We got our exercise carrying suitcases up and down the stairs. Highly recommend this hotel! read more

Not worth the money this hotel wanted compared to others along I 40. Reserved king bed but discovered after got here that they had no elevators, just stairs. Clerk immediately switched us to 2 queen beds on first floor. I can't do stairs, especially with suitcases. Guess I didn't read well enough on phone when reserving. Only continental breakfast, not hot one. Also, it's on crappy side of town. We parked car right up close to our window. Bathroom small & tub slippery. Has exhaust fan. The good: clerk was very nice & accommodating, big room with 2 Queens, AC works fine (wall unit) and I can keep fan running all night for white noise. read more

Nice, clean rooms. Bathroom fan can't be turned off apart from light and is very loud. Was told we could not get extra pillows for my kids, which I found odd. Pool is nice, especially for the kids. Breakfast would have been decent if it were better staffed. The entire lobby was a dirty disaster and they were out of basics such as milk. I didnt have a great experience at this hotel, however, it wasnt a total disaster. I was moving across country and after a 10 hour day stopped here (planned route) because they had a policy of accepting pets. No issue there. It's in an industrial area off of the highway, so be prepared for that. The room was just OK, nothing to write home about and my window was facing the side entrance door - so I heard that opening and closing all night. I wasnt issued a wi-fi password and the HBO didnt work - again, not earth shattering, it would have just been a nice convenience at the end of a long day. I tried to call the front desk, but the phone in the room was dead (and yes, I checked for connection). So, I called the main customer service (no answer at the front desk - 3 calls), because I had already changed and didnt want to go up to the front desk, to get the wi-fi password. The customer service woman as horrible and I actually heard her tell the front desk manager that "I was mad" and she laughed about it. I called her out on it and she denied it - but she thought she had clicked over to the front desk and was still on the line with me. When she finally did get the wi-fi password, I went to use the pen in the room and the tip of it snapped right off. Definitely a snowballed experience. I will say, however, that they put on quite the breakfast and that made up for the night before, but not enough so that I would ever stay there again. read more

We have stayed at this hotel for several years. This year we returned, almost reluctantly, because the staff we had dealt with before were civil but not always friendly and the beds were hard. But the location was ideal. Much to our delight, this year we arrived to find friendly new staff, new mattresses and big screen TVs! To top it off, when we accidentally left a bag there, they called the minute they found it, kept it safe until we returned for it without ever looking into it. And we had some very valuable things there. Their friendless and integrity, not to mention comfortable mattresses and pillow and real adjoining rooms, will insure our return next year. read more

Very friendly staff, and very accommodating. We had a bad experience at another hotel in the area immediately before checking in here, the staff here was willing to show us the rooms beforehand and even gave us a discounted rate upon checking in. The rooms are spacious and clean, and offer a microwave and a mini-fridge. The staff was also helpful with giving us a room that would accommodate for our pet. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an affordable place to stay and cares about cleanliness and safety. read more

Nice, clean, updated hotel. Everyone at the front desk was very polite and professional. Good parking, with a large lot in the back for trailers. Easy location right off I-40, although there isn't much around so you'll have to venture out a bit for food or gas. We brought our large dog and my only issue was since the doors are on the inside, a few times he could hear other dogs barking from the hall, and he barked back. Also there wasn't much grass around for him to do his business. We made it work for 1 night, though. read more

My first bad review ever, STAY AWAY! I am a frequent government traveler. Last Memorial day weekend we had to book there because of short notice. Never again, sleeping at a rescue mission would have been a better option. My wife who travels with me is disabled so we request ADA rooms to handle her wheelchair. We have had issues in the past with loosing rooms etc. but hotels will usually will fix the problem or compensate you. This hotel not only gave away our ADA room but also denied the request was ever made, yes I did have documentation. When I brought this to the Manager she went into a very long speech of deniability and ended with the statement that all her rooms were ADA because you could fit a wheelchair through the door. Amazing but true, maybe she'll be blessed with living in a wheelchair one day so she'll know the difference. Also at breakfast the next morning I met another couple who booked months ahead for their ADA room but was given the same treatment. So I'll repeat STAY AWAY! read more

I checked in to this hotel and paid for the 2 rooms that I had reserved. Upon looking at my bank account, the hotel had doubled billed me for each room. I also had several of the people in my group that was double billed. I went front desk and ask to speak with Manager, Andrea. She was off. I told them I need to speak with her because at this point they all of my funds tied up, and extra $500. When front desk called her she said she did have time to talk to me. Then a few minutes later called back to talk to me and told me it was her day off, 10pm and was trying to get her child in bed. Well I had 50+ that I brought to the hotel in a group. reservation, including kids that I was trying to get settled in. However they refused to acknowledge they double billed and said it was my bank's fault. I told them bank would not know to charge twice. I had to wait until they canceled the 2nd charge and the pending charge to credited to my account the following Tues and was short $500 for my entire stay. Bad customer service, bad communication. Even the Supvr w/ Rewards did not return call as stated. When spoke with him he said hotel said they called and emailed me with a response..never heard from anyone. read more
