I ordered some sweet-and-sour pork and it was very very old dry hard meat soggy breading must've been warmed up from the night before very disappointed. That's the problem getting food off of a buffet. it's not fresh not made to order, the other Chinese food was not very good either I think the only way you could eat off of a buffet is to walk down the line and look for the freshest food What did they do with the leftover buffet food at the end of the night? Went through the drive-thru yesterday for medium hot and sour soup. It took a while (15 to 20 minutes), but it was very worthwhile, if a little pricy ($8.75 plus a .75 tip.) My daughter and her family love this place, so we had to try it. The food is better than I remember from our last visit years ago. Our take-out was fresh, flavorful, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Can't beat that. The food is served cafeteria style and the servers were very friendly as they heaped our orders into to-go boxes. The General's Chicken, Almond Chicken, and Spicy Hunan Pork were my favorites. As is the case with most Chinese food outings, there is always something "not to like". Not the case here. Husband and I tried Best Wok after coming to Great Falls. I don't understand how they claim to be the best Chinese in town. The atmosphere is low grade fast food. I was shocked today to see their website appears like a high end Chinese food restaurant. Let me be clear, they have a drive thru, they have 1 steamer bar that you order from and Styrofoam cups for the fountain drinks. As for the food, the fried rice available is tasteless with very few vegetables for nutritional value. I was excited to be able sweet n sour chicken without a special order. The sauce was partially solidified. The chicken even looked soggy before the sauce was given. The food was so bland or distasteful I didn't finish all of my food. Husband was of a similar opinion. We may be too picky about Chinese food, we may have been spoiled but great quality at reasonable prices, but Best Wok is definitely not anywhere near the best we have had. If you want good Chinese food in Great Falls, look elsewhere. Some locals may enjoy it but I also know others who think panda express and Maple Garden to be much better than this. The drive thru is the main reason I like to go here. It's quick, it's convenient and it takes the hassle out of getting out of the car. The combination plate is the main entree I like to get. Lately the chow mein has been greasy and the onions aren't cooked, making them overpowering. I tried the kung pao chicken the other day and it was full of onions, varying in doneness from raw to cooked. The fried rice has been dry and tasteless. Here's what she must have been thinking: Let's put the meat on the plate, --- oh no, I put too much meat on --- I'll just take a few pieces off. I was sore at that but it turns out that she did me a favor. I sunk my teeth into the first piece of chicken and could only describe my face as if I was transformed into a baby and my mom fed me lemon for the first time. I'm in Great Falls to see the She-Haw country western drag show and decided this would be a great pit stop once I got into town. The place is very clean. You can dine in if you like but the atmosphere is commensurate with the business - a Chinese fast-food resource. Inside is a steam table that you approach and order what looks good to you. As you work through the line you end up at the very friendly cashier. The prices are very reasonable. I typically phone in an order for a Daily Special which consists of either fried rice or chow mein along with three entrees for under $9.00. The portions are generous too. I've never had to wait at the pick-up window and usually arrive within ten minutes of having made the call. I encourage you to try it. I think you'll like it.
