Julia spent time with me and designed a setting on the computer that suited me perfectly. She listened to my concerns and wants and created a ring that is gorgeous! Everything I asked for was accomplished and I am extremely pleased with the results. The shop was cluttered and unclean, setting a questionable tone. They tried to convince me that I needed to apply an additional 54% reduction on the 14-karat gold price, even though the spot price of $71 per gram was already adjusted for purity. This was just a tactic to lower their offer even more. They also lied about the weight of my gold, claiming I had only 9.7 grams when the reality was different. In contrast, Dublin Jewelers offered me a fair and honest price of $760 for the gold and an additional $105 for the gemstones, totaling $865. This stark difference highlighted how much Guy Edward's was trying to not just shortchange me but completely rip me off and take advantage of a potentially unknowing customer. They were not only undervaluing the gold but also ignoring the actual weight and the value of the gemstones. What made the situation even more frustrating was that when I initially went in, I pretended not to know anything about the actual gold value. Once I mentioned the correct spot price, they looked surprised and tried to gaslight me one last time, but ultimately they gave up once it was clear that I knew exactly what was going on. The entire Family and Staff joined in on the dishonest tactics, collectively trying to gaslight me and push me into thinking the other shop made a miscalculation. It was a coordinated effort to rob me. Gold price is easy to see there should be no games played with the price they knew there is zero excuse for this even removing the value of stones they were trying to rob me as Dublin Jewelers offered me 760$ for gold ALONE comparing that to Guy Edward's offer of 404$ it's clear this wasn't just them offering a bad rate but them completely trying to take advantage of me and steal from me. In summary, Guy Edward's Jewelry is not trustworthy. They knew what they were doing and chose to deceive me anyway. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business there to look elsewhere and choose reputable jewelers like Dublin Jewelers. This business is NOT helping their customers get the full value for their precious metals . What I got back was the most dishonest, incompetent, and unbelievable experience I have ever had with any business. They lost my original Omega crown -- a part that matters enormously for originality, value, and collectability. When I picked the watch up, I immediately noticed a cheap generic crown installed. When I confronted them, I was given an absurd explanation: they claimed this random generic crown had "just happened" to be found on the floor and they "assumed" it belonged to my watch. The idea that a generic crown just happened to fit a 60‑year‑old Omega Seamaster is insulting. I told them I had photos documenting the watch with its original crown before I brought it in and would be happy to show them. Their response? They told me they "trusted me." After hearing their story, I certainly didn't trust them. I then wrote a letter explaining that they had lost a 60‑year‑old original part, damaging the watch's integrity, history, and value. After that, I received multiple calls a day from them, which I ignored because I wanted everything in writing. The explanations continued to change. Suddenly they claimed they bought a magnet, found my original crown, and reattached it. I picked the watch up -- and the crown fell off immediately. I took the watch to another jeweler for an independent evaluation. Their watchmaker found a damaged stem and glue inside the watch, apparently used to hold the crown on. Yes -- glue. Inside a vintage Omega. That jeweler also told me I was one of countless people who had brought in watches "serviced" by Dickens that needed corrective work. As of a few days ago, their watchmaker is literally removing glue from inside my watch because Dickens' "resolution" was to glue the crown on and glue the watch together. Truly unbelievable. Even after losing original parts, damaging the watch, giving me contradictory stories, and returning a watch that fell apart in my hands, Dickens Jewelers only offered a partial refund of the service fee. I had to dispute the charge through my bank because I no longer trusted anything they said. My Omega survived more than 60 years. It took Dickens Jewelers one service appointment to lose original components, damage the movement, attempt a shortcut glue repair, and give me a series of explanations that made the situation worse every time they spoke. It goes without saying that even a 1‑star rating is far too generous. The only silver lining is that this happened to one of my Omegas and not one of my vintage Rolexes, sentimental pieces, or much higher‑end watches. If Victor and Kevin are willing to lie pathologically about something as trivial as a routine service on a vintage watch, you have to ask yourself a very uncomfortable question: what would stop them from lying about something with far greater monetary value, carat weight, or sentimental importance -- like an engagement ring, wedding band, or family heirloom? There are several far more competent jewelers right here in Clinton, NJ. I strongly advise using any of them and avoiding Dickens Jewelers at all cost.

After he called to confirm that they would be able to help, he told me that he believed the man he spoke to was black! I was very intrigued and decided to tag along. I dropped off several pieces and they were complete in less than a week! The work looks good, the pricing was fair and the customer service was top notch. They even agreed to meet my boyfriend outside of the shop to deliver his watch due to his work schedule and the tight turnaround he requested!
