Can of hairspray in her grey hair, black and silver glitter polish on her ridiculously long nails, the most uncomfy looking fake eyelashes ever. She looked like the world's coolest, most over the top grandma, or like a cross between Joan Rivers and Cruella DeVille. I was looking for a gift for a friend and I told her I don't want to spend more than $50. She showed me several pieces that were exactly $50 and a few that were $60 to $65. That's exactly what she should have done! That's what you would do too, right, as you know these self-imposed price caps are somewhat arbitrary? I bought a nifty bracelet with an adjustable chain thingy for just over $60. She wrapped it beautifully in a box with a fancy bow. Marlene of Marlowe's is cool, she's old school and no nonsense and her look is unique and it's so un-Princeton, where everyone looks perfect and constrained and conformist.
