Absolutely wonderful experience. Fabulous knowledge about the wine and property. Amazing wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! Thanks so much!

Fantastic wines. We did a tasting and ended up getting a bottle of the 2017 estate Pinot Noir -The currents. Good views, friendly staff, what more can you ask for. I highly recommend this winery.

We got a complimentary private tasting here as a member of Soter Vineyards wine club. What makes this place so special is: 1. Beautiful views and grounds and dog friendly too 2. Fabulous pinot noirs. We liked the Flat Lot the best but they were all excellent. 3. The staff and winemakers. This is a family run winery and the people here are so knowledgeable and nice. Our tasting guide was really great answering all of our questions and had lot's of midwestern charm. This is a wonderful place to taste wine in the Salem area. There are a lot of great pinot noir's in Oregon but this place has it all. Check it out.

Fantastic place for wine tasting. Gorgeous vineyard view and elegant atmosphere. Their wine is smooth and delicious. Will be happy to come back to visit again!

Best wine tasting experience I've had in a long time!!! All the wines we tasted were amazing, especially the Pinot Gris, Southeast Block Pinot Noir, and High Wire Chardonnay which blew my mind! Their tasting room team is wonderful we received excellent service from 3 different women and they even helped us reschedule the end of our day due to another tasting being canceled because of a power outage. We joined the wine club and will definitely come back!

My spouse and I came to Bethel Heights upon the recommendation from our Airbnb hosts who live in the area. We are big wine lovers from San Jose, California with our first time in Willamette Valley. Let me put it this way, it's a place that you should at least go once in your life. The vineyard is absolutely gorgeous and their tasting room is very elegant. Watching from their tasting room and walking on the outside is ideal. Definitely come here once in your life. The reason why it got mediocre in my book is due to a number of reasons. I felt that their wines were not reasonably price for the taste. We only bought one bottle mostly due to the fact that our tasting fee will cover it. The person who served us didn't come off very welcoming or engaging which turned me off as a person who might buy wine. Again, I had better wine at many other places in the area. I would not recommend it.

Beautiful views & pinots! The Shallows Pinot was a favorite! It's a must go to for sure!

A panoramic stop in the Salem area of Oregon wine country. The tasting room sits atop a bluff overlooking the valley (green in summer with all the vineyards). Magnificent scenery. Also, they have picnic tables along the outside so you can enjoy the view while munching down on some goodies and drinking some wine. The wine here is prepared nicely, and is very tasty. The best wines are again the pinots. A little pricey, but worth the excellent taste. 2004 Pinot Noir Flat Block Reserve Delicate aromatics: floral, strawberry, apricot, lots of stonefruit. Flavors of black cherry, blueberry, apricot skins, red fruits changing to stone fruit. Varietal, concentrated, good length and balance. MAGNUM 2000 Pinot Noir Southeast Block Reserve "Crisp and lively, with pretty blackberry and currant flavors, finishing with just a hint of spicy oak as everything echoes on fine-grained finish." Score 90, The Wine Spectator (June 15, 2002) MAGNUM 2001 Pinot Noir Southeast Block Reserve "Dark in hue and blue in tone, this wine from a south-facing slope in the Eola Hills is still unresolved at the moment. But the pieces already in place are haunting, redolent of pine forests shrouded in fog. For all its dark tones, it's surprisingly fresh on the palate; on the second day, blue-green pine scents more firmly anchor the wine, yet its light touch remains. Pair with something that has a little smoke to it, like grilled salmon." Score 91, Wine & Spirits. MAGNUM 2002 Flat Block Reserve "Dark berries and hints of licorice can be found in the aromatic profile of the 2002 Pinot Noir Flat Block Reserve. This medium-bodied wine reveals outstanding concentration, and sports a long, seamless finish. Its flavor profile, composed of a myriad of dark fruits (principally blackberries and dark cherries) is spiced with notes of freshly laid road tar." (91) The Wine Advocate Well, you get the idea. The wines coupled with the location and scenery make this a must stop along the Oregon wine trail.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Views, wines, service. All. Excellent. This Vineyard does NOT disappoint on any front. Their wines are excellent and every wine we tasted I could have bought many bottles. Chris was the absolute sweetheart who waited on us and she had her wine information down pat. She was very knowledgeable and poured us the most excellent wine. Although every wine there is excellent! The entire staff was friendly and engaging and it ended up being an unseasonably warm day (the temperature was only around 60, but the sun made it feel much much warmer,) so they brought us out cushions to sit on the patio area. They also had a super cute wine dog bowl for dogs that come with their owners who are wine tasting. The views are incredible and breathtaking. It's bar none a must visit vineyard for anyone whether you're local or out of town visiting the area. Expect to pay for at least a few bottles because you won't be able NOT to buy after tasting. I can't say enough good about the vineyard. It's fantastic. Next vineyard on my list to join!

I fell in love with his wines a few years ago at my neighborhood wine bar/club, Vino Carta, in San Diego! I would teach extra spin classes on top of my 2 jobs for spending $ just to buy his wines! My family and friends became Walter Scott aficionados after I gifted them bottles for birthdays, anniversaries, & Christmas! When I found out we were roadtripping to Oregon, I had to visit Walter Scott! I emailed about getting a reservation for my parents and myself. Erica, co-founder/Ken's wife/sommelier extraordinaire, emailed me back immediately. She was so kind & helpful! Our tasting yesterday afternoon at 1:30pm, was such an intimate & magical experience. Ken's enthusiasm and passion for the wines...excitingly contagious. He explained everything so well, and not in a "pinky's out" portentous or pedantic way. Ken was very humble and entertaining in conveying his past accomplishments, present endeavors, and trajectory for his future wines. We tasted through 5 incredible pinots and 5 delicious chardonnays. I initially was lured in by his enchanting pinots, but the chardonnays, wow! His chardonnays compete and even beat out many white burgundy tastings! So grateful I got to meet a rockstar in the winemaking world! Can't wait to taste more! Sent from my iPhone

Country Mouse vs. City Mouse…read more One of the hallmarks of a great relationship is knowing your partner almost better than you know yourself. You can predict what they'll order off a menu, things that make your love go off the reservation and most importantly the little things that make them happy. You also get to indulge in a fair amount of gentle teasing and mockery. My husband is Mr. Outdoorsman and I'm more of a city girl. So when we have those open ended conversations about our 'dream home' he tends to visualize a large plot of land in the country and I'm leaning towards a condo in the city. As we were driving through the picturesque wine country, part of me was enjoying the view, but the other part was afraid he was going to start pulling house flyers. It is beautiful, but I need lots of people, restaurants, museums and close proximity to an airport. I was introduced to the pinot noirs of this small vineyard almost ten years ago and it was love at first sip. They are not mass produced or marketed, so I will go months without seeing their label in restaurants or grocery stores. They are 100% estate bottled, so all grapes come from their 51 acres. After meeting the owner at the Bite of Portland this summer, visiting their vineyard went to the top of my wine country wish list. But first we visited St. Innocent just up the road. Imagine a modern French chateau with chandeliers and million dollar views with a tasting room that has probably appeared on the pages of Sunset Magazine. Then we visited Witness Tree, and I mean no disrespect, but the tasting room looks like a converted double-wide. My husband started tittering as we drove up. He loves to tease me about living in a trailer out in the middle of nowhere. This place is the perfect example of putting all your love and resources into the product rather than being overly concerned about appearances. The tasting room is perfectly fine, but the staff is amazing. Of all the wineries we visited, this was by far the best experience. It didn't feel like a rote explanation as she introduced each wine in the flight. The wine is stellar and so we left with several bottles and membership to their wine club. And the property is beautiful so I just might have to reconsider the whole city/condo thing. Score one for the country mouse.

Normally, even though I go to a LOT of wineries, I am reluctant to review wineries on Yelp. The…read morereason I typically hesitate is that wine tastes are so subjective to varietal preferences, where one person may love a Syrah, while another despises it. And, beyond just varietals, one person may prefer fruity lighter wines, while another may want rich, earthy, tannic flavors. It's hard to rate a winery and not comment on its wine, so I tend to suspend my Yelp postings as a result. But - now and then, a winery rises to the occasion on so many fronts, that it just merits a writeup, and I'm happy to say that Bryn Mawr is such a place. Bryn Mawr, which is Welsh for "Large Hill" is appropriately named on the top of the biggest hill in this area. While the scenery atop the hill is majestic and worth a visit for the view alone, the hill can get windy, so they can't cater to wedding events. You'll note the hill and wind depicted on their logo (which I thought was an octopus tentacle...nope!). But for a wine tasting in the Eola-Amity Hills region, this is a phenomenal venue. The current iteration of Bryn Mawr is relatively new, with current owners in place for the past 14 years or so. I think it's safe to say the wines have hit their stride and this place is up-and-coming. We did a delightful tasting with an engaging tasting room lady who enchanted us with her knowledge and love of the location. Some tasting rooms are getting pretty minimalist with their service orientation (which I call 'slug and chug'), but not here. Bryn Mawr was welcoming and interesting, like having a knowledgeable friend with us on the visit. On a tour through Willamette Valley, we felt this stop had the best overall experience and wines on our little journey. We tend to favor red wines, but we were fans of the entire tasting lineup, and would happily take home any of them. Price relative to value was very good here, with the tasting fee waived with purchase of a few bottles (which we found easy to do). I do miss the winery days of yore with $5 tastings that included a souvenir glass, but there ya go. Nothing gold can stay. Please do reserve yourself a stop, if you'd like a great winery visit.
