Bethel came to replace a cork tile floor in my kitchen and bathroom and did an excellent detail-oriented job. It took a full day to remove the existing tile which was 20 years old and crumbling. The installation was very intricate lining up the tile to the baseboard and appliances and Walter and his 3 person crew did an impeccable job. Needed repairs for a 3 in. x 3 in. section of carpet in my apartment that was torn while moving furniture and went to Yelp for quote solicitations - Walter at Bethel Interiors was the first shop to respond to my inquiry (he messaged me within an hour) and we scheduled an appointment for two days later (Walter was very accommodating when it came to scheduling). With respect to the repair visit, Walter was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient - he was able to plug the torn section in under an hour and the finished product was exceptional. There is no hint of prior damage sustained to that area of the carpet.

When I tell you this company is Top Notch! Extremely talented and professional people. My floors look so amazing. They came on time and worked until the job was done. My house looks like it's brand new. From the first time I met with Walter Mach who gave me a quote that I definitely needed and my mother and I were so grateful to get at the end of the appointment. I was provided with many samples to choose from. Scheduling the job was smooth as well. I'm truly in aw of the outcome and I'm so looking forward to my next project they will be working on in 2 weeks. I would recommend Walter for carpet installation anytime. I got 5 quotes, including a big box retailer and chose Walter because he was reasonably priced, and very responsive. He came by with samples, twice, and made me feel totally comfortable with the process. I was also so impressed how incredibly clean they were. They had to cut the carpet on my driveway and they swept it clean of debris before they started. They vacuumed constantly. The actual work is flawless. Due to scheduling issues, I ended up not hiring Bethel Interiors for my floor refinishing job. But I was so impressed with Walter's professionalism that I wanted to note it here: - he contacted me quickly after I submitted a request for a quote - he met me on site for an assessment within just a few hours - he was friendly and efficient in his job assessment - he provided a reasonable quote the next day, with several options to meet my needs Making clients feel that their home improvement job is important can really make a difference for a contractor. While it didn't work out this time to hire Walter for this job, he still made a very positive impression on me and I will keep him in mind for the future. read more

Walter was very respectful and professional. He was very responsive and delivered quickly as promised. I was hesitant to choose Bethel Interiors since they only have 8 reviews, but I'm so glad I went with my instincts upon meeting Walter and seeing that he seemed very honest and trustworthy. After shopping around, Walter gave me the best quote for carpeting on my stairs, hallway and 3 bedrooms. He drove all the way from San Francisco to my home in Hayward in traffic and rain twice to provide samples for me. His team was very professional and made sure to section and seal off all areas that they are working on to prevent dust and debris from flying everywhere into the rest of the home. They laid down sheets on the floor to keep from damaging and dirtying my hardwood flooring and I can hear them constantly cleaning as they go. They were so meticulous that they even vacuumed up all the dust and debris BEFORE removing all protective covering when they were finished with their job! read more

Tom's did the floors in my unit a few weeks ago. Here are my thoughts:…read more Pros: - Communication: Generally very prompt communication. I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.

TJ was chill, nice, and talked to my fiancé and me for two hours, educating us on engineered hardwood flooring and helping us pick out almost 4,000 sq ft of 4 different types of flooring for four different units to help us maintain the original beauty of the Edwardian building and stay under budget. We ended up saving over $10K switching from vinyl to engineered hardwood by purchasing from The Floor Store!

When confronted, Rodney scrambled, blamed the HOA, made excuses about warehouse inventory numbers, and admitted the original carpet would take weeks to arrive--confirming he spent weeks hiding severe delays rather than managing the order. THIS IS A DIRECT 24-HOUR NOTICE TO MANAGEMENT: I require store management to contact me directly within 24 hours to either: 1. Provide written confirmation of a firm, expedited delivery and installation date for the exact contracted carpet, OR 2. Process a 100% full refund of my deposit immediately so I can take my business to a professional vendor. Another contractor couldn't start until two weeks later. Alex made a site visit and was very personable. With the lead time, we chose Alex. Right when we chose him, he wanted to start that day! I said OK. That afternoon the demolition began. In two weeks he completed the job. He will work around your schedule. We had a family incident and needed to push back the work a day. We also had to wait a few days for the faucet to be delivered. The hours are up to you. We were OK with his team working into the late evening to get the job done because we were down a bathroom. Vitali and Alex work really really hard and long hours. There were some up sale items, but we picked which ones we wanted. Our vanity was in bad shape; so we updated the vanity, sink, backsplash and faucet. Alex quoted us a great price and offered to do tile flooring which would have made the bathroom even nicer, but we decided that the flooring would be fine. Maybe save that for the next remodel. Going through any type of remodel or home update is emotional and risky. We did a home remodel years back and that's when we learned you can really only choose two of the three: quality, cost, or speed. With Alex we were able to get close to all three. Obviously your home is very dear, and there are small little things that you can sweat over. Your home will never be perfect. Not a year goes by without some work that needs to be done to my home. Things get old and break down. There are many things that I would do over, but everyday I go into my newly updated bathroom and smile.

I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.
