Was searching all over Pageland for a breakfast spot, and my friend remembered coming here awhile back. We came in hungry and desperate for breakfast. Right away was greeted with that Souther hospitality and felt relieved to make it in time for breakfast. The service was prompt and friendly, and our order came to us in perfect timing. Not much to look at, great local place with reasonable prices. Ham club $5.50. BUFFET think $12 or $13. Club was good. Buffet look liked it was good but too much food For me. Service was good. You order upfront hit buffet or they bring the food to you if you order off menu. read more

I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this place has such high reviews. We've eaten there over the years and watched a steady decline in the quality of the food and service while the prices continue to rise. We go so infrequently now because each time we leave, we agree we will never come back. The last time we had breakfast there, all of it was cold. The place wasn't busy and the waitress, who is always there, had her typical, cavalier attitude in full force. She sat this nasty bottle of ketchup on the table as you see it in the picture. I looked on Yelp and found Beth's country Kitchen that was located about a I/2 mile off our route. When we pulled up the parking lot was full including some first responder vehicles. We figured any place this crowded had to be good and it was! We will definitely eat here again should we decide to travel the back roads. We might even do so on purpose! read more

The fried chicken was fresh, crispy and perfectly seasoned. The meatloaf was tasty and the toss salad was satisfying. Was working nearby and came for lunch. You walk in and take a plate which you can load up at the buffet table. I was there on a Wednesday and there was fried chicken which was very good. There is always fried chicken and then another protein, like fried fish or stew beef. They have great seasonal vegetables like butter beans, collards, fried okra, corn, macaroni, rice & gravy... and they cook them all just as good as Paula Dean can! A raw salad bar with beets and cottage cheese rounds out the bar. And I can't forget the best little biscuits and squares of corn bread. They also have some southern favorites for dessert options. We stopped here on the spur of the moment as we were driving from Charlotte, NC, to St. Stephen, SC, for the 21 August eclipse. We had been taking country roads to avoid the expected traffic jam along I-77 and I-26. We are so glad we made the decision to try Beth's. We got there just as the Sunday church folks were leaving. (Let the record show that we attended a worship service earlier in the day.) We were warmly greeted by Beth and her staff as we entered. The cost for the all-you-can-eat buffet was $11. The food was uniformly delicious. The crust on the fried chicken was crispy and thin, and the meat was warm, soft, and moist. I saved the spareribs for last because I knew that I would be using my hands. They were the best I have ever had. I could go on and on about the sides. Beth stopped by our table to ensure we were satisfied with our meal. In my opinion, Beth's Country Kitchen is an iconic source of Southern cooking. Trust me.
