There isn't really a system for ordering or receiving your food/drinks. It's kinda like when you go to a family's house and they're busy making sure all the food and drinks have enough love, so you gotta wait for them to do their thang and just quietly enjoy the process. The owner is suuuper kind and greets you as you enter and you can tell he really cares about his customers. He will let you know if he's busy and around how long to wait. I just gotta hand it to the owner, it sounds like he has a lot of regulars who come in for dosa, lentils, and chai. It smelled good every time he made some dosa! Masala chai: got mine with oat milk (he has to brew a new batch if you want a different milk), he usually uses half and half I believe for his chai. Love the spices! I like my chai pretty spicy and this is really good. He sells packs of loose chai so you can brew at home also Note: their masala chai is made with black tea and their pink chai is made with green tea and has pistachio Will come back to try the food and pink chai when it's not so poppin!

Per the cashier, unlike previous years, where they often sold Paczki for several weeks leading up to the celebration, this year, they will only have them on Tuesday. Apparently every single one is handmade by the owner, Pâtissier William Leaman, and this year, he's been too busy with the 2026 Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie competition as the US team's coach. That's certainly a great excuse! When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon a bit after lunch, this place was still quite busy with a line that stretched to the door, but not outside. As with the Burien location, I find the ordering process to be a bit of a pain; while there are plenty of workers to help, ordering is slowed due to the fact that the display cases are placed in a line and there's not much room in the building to maneuver to the desired display. In our case, while we had someone helping us all the way in the back of the line, we weren't able to select anything until we got all the way to the pastry case in the front. I'm not sure there's a good way to solve this conundrum, though. At any rate, we ended up only getting a single pastry (that was new to us) to try this time. Brown Sugar Pecan Brioche ($5) - This pastry looks like a glistening pecan sticky bun at first glance, with a cinnamon roll-like pinwheel structure and a brown sugar glazed pecan topping. Since it's brioche, I expected it to be dense, but soft, rich, and sweet. This bread is anything but. It's dense, dry, crumbly, almost clay-like in mouthfeel; basically everything brioche should not be. Instead of a sticky caramelized coating over the pecans, the pecans are glued on with only the thinnest of sugar coatings. The pastry doesn't claim to be a sticky bun, so it gets a pass there. Unfortunately the base layer is absolutely terrible, by far the worst "brioche" I've eaten in years. It has all the flavor of hard tack with the unpleasant mouthfeel of Play-Doh. Canned Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are far better than this waste of perfectly good ingredients. The owner should be ashamed to release this swill to the public. (1/5) Why am I giving Bakery Nouveau a 5? Because they serve some of the best twice baked croissants known to man. The Capitol Hill location is my go to for a sweet and buttery treat and I still recommend it to everyone that visits me, specifically for the almond and chocolate twice baked croissants. The paczki are no slouches either; probably the best we can get around Seattle. Bathrooms - Single unisex room. Note: There will be some walk in availability for paczki on Tuesday, but the cashier told me that they will likely sell out by 10AM. Looks like an early morning trip to the Capitol Hill location is in my near future.

When we arrived, just after they opened, we were the third party in the restaurant. The atrium was really cute. It had a glass chandelier, great decor, and a view of Alki Beach. Our waiter brought us some water and we both decided to order the quiche (daily special was spinach, mushroom and goat cheese) along with a cup of clam chowder. Being that the restaurant was kind of empty, it took a while for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the chowder was tepid at best and quiche was ice cold. I flagged the waiter down and as he took away our plates, he made a comment about the oven not being set correctly, which I thought was a bit odd. To me, it seemed as if our food may have been waiting a while to get picked up. Nevertheless, our food returned shortly thereafter piping hot. The chowder was delicious, definitely one of the tastiest I've had in Seattle. I found the quiche to be lacking in flavor and then noticed that there were no salt or pepper shakers on any of the tables, which I also thought was a bit odd. After we had finished eating, the waiter asked my friend if she wanted a box for her quiche. When he returned with the box, he did not clear our dishes or ask if we were ready for our check. I had to flag him down to ask for it. I noticed they added a $3 service fee to the bill, not quite sure what that was about, as the food was already a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area and there were issues with our food. I guess it's for the beach view? Overall, this was a decent meal, but I just don't get what all the hype is about.

My husband's pasta was fantastic, which was surprising to me as I am not the biggest fan of mushrooms but it was brilliant! Over the years, I've had some excellent meals there, like the one I had last night. From the moment you come through their door, when you're greeted by a pleasant host, until you leave with a full tummy, I think you'll love this place. The menu leans Italian, with some outstanding pasta dishes, and mighty fine they are. Last night I had tagliolini al limoni, which I think was the best pasta I have ever eaten. The room is nice too, simply and tastefully decorated, in an early Seattle historical structure. There is a deck on the back of the dining room, which seems to be used all year long. I do recommend you sit in the dining room instead, as it is kind of loud and cool on the deck, even though it is equipped with heat lamps. Service is first rate, just what you'd expect from a high end place like Il Nido. The staff seems to be well trained and professional--maybe I'd call them perfect, something we rarely find in this town. They have a small parking lot next to the restaurant, but unless you're eating early, you'll be lucky to find a place there. Parking on the street seems pretty easy, however. Take a drive to a nice part of Seattle, West Seattle, and enjoy a special night at Il Nido. I think you'll be delighted.

We decided to quickly drop by here specifically for that, and I grabbed myself a chocolate chip cookie with nuts. Server behind the counter was very friendly and helpful, especially when I asked for another bag to keep the warm cookie fresh. For this cookie, you gotta split it between two days, or among more than that if you're health-conscious. There's so much sugary taste yet you never really get tired of eating it. The chocolate chips and the nuts complemented each other while also taking away some of the taste that the excess sugar in the cookie otherwise has. Cookie also melted in my mouth so well that I was tempted to ask my friend to drive back for another.
