Always visit this booth at local Torrington Farmers Market. Gluten Free baked goods are wonderful. Highly recommend!

A triumph! Delicious cookies and Italian pastries just like Nona's because they are made by people who bake with love.

Lombardi's is an utterly charming, old-fashioned Italian bakery located in downtown Torrington…read more It's family run, cash-only, and incredibly well priced. The pretty loaves of Italian bread are only $3 -- and they taste exactly like my mother's homemade Italian bread, which I would gobble straight out of the oven as a child. (My siblings and I would fight over the heel, excavate the innards, and fill it with butter!) Also on offer: -- Lattice pies / tarts, half lemon, half apple for.... drumroll........ $14! -- Eclairs -- Italian cream puffs -- Chocolate chip cookies -- 2 for $1! -- Lots and lots of colorful Italian cookies Not all of the baked goods were fresh out of the oven, but that's not surprising given that it was (1) Sunday and (2) there are so many items available that they cannot possibly keep everything in rotation day-of fresh. We have access to world class bakeries and are spoiled rotten. By our hyper-picky standards, the baked goods were just fair. But given the pleasant owners, bargain pricing, and lovely bread, I have no trouble seeing why this place is a local favorite.

Ah, I am utterly charmed! This cafe / eclectic tchotchke store is chock full of homemade goodness:…read morefrom jam, soap, and crocheted cozies in the store section, to sandwiches, salads, cupcakes, Lebanese baklava, and other baked goods in the cafe section. They bake everything in house, with specials on some days (e.g. Sweet Bun Sunday). The selection is vast, especially considering that everything is scratch made in-house. Aromas are enticing! We picked up an orange cranberry dream bar, studded with plenty of white chocolate chips, coconut, and dried cranberries, topped with orange cream cheese frosting and more dried cranberries. It was *enormous* and easily served as dessert for four. Also in our order: a streusel topped blueberry cake, as moist as could be and filled with fresh blueberries. It was also generously proportioned, large enough for at least two. We didn't try any salads, breakfast platters, or sandwiches on this visit, but they looked fantastic, based on what I saw on other customers' plates. I found that the super friendly owners are of Lebanese descent when I asked about the Lebanese baklava at checkout -- and evidently, they sometimes have Lebanese meat pies on offer! I cannot wait to come back to try every Lebanese food item they have, since my family is passionately fond of the cuisine (and really, everything else, too). I had no idea such riches could be found in Torrington! You can't throw a rock without hitting an Italian-American in this town -- not that I would ever throw a rock at an Italian-American :) -- but this is the first I've heard of a Lebanese-American contingent in these parts. I'm so glad Yelp led me here!

The mixed berry French toast was amazing and I love the breakfast potatoes! The strawberry and blueberry cinnamon roll I got to go was so so good! My boyfriend loves the coffee!
