I genuinely don't know how to properly put into words how incredible Byanca is. I've been to plenty of coffee shops, but the level of effort, dedication, friendliness, and genuine care that Byanca puts into her work is on an entirely different level. She is, without exaggeration, one of the hardest-working people I've ever seen behind a counter. From the second you walk in, Byanca brings an energy that immediately makes the whole place feel better. She is incredibly friendly, attentive, and somehow manages to handle everything going on around her while still making every customer feel like they actually matter. Whether she's taking orders, making drinks, helping coworkers, cleaning, answering questions, or dealing with a busy rush, she does it all with an unbelievable amount of patience and professionalism. And the DRINKS. The drinks Byanca makes are absolutely phenomenal. I genuinely don't know what she does differently, but somehow everything tastes better when she makes it. The balance of flavors is perfect, the presentation is great, and you can tell she actually cares about what she's making instead of just throwing something together and sending it out. I've had drinks from plenty of coffee shops, but there is something about a drink made by Byanca that just hits differently. She deserves a tremendous amount of recognition for how hard she works. Even when it's extremely busy, she keeps moving and keeps working. She doesn't seem to get overwhelmed, and she never makes the customer feel like they are an inconvenience. Watching her work during a rush is honestly impressive. She is constantly doing something and somehow manages to keep everything moving while maintaining a great attitude. What really stands out, though, is that her friendliness doesn't feel forced. She genuinely seems like someone who cares about doing a good job and making sure people have a good experience. That kind of attitude is rare, especially in a busy coffee shop. It makes a huge difference. If Better Buzz has a secret weapon, it's Byanca. She deserves a raise, a promotion, a trophy, a parade, and probably her own building at this point. I would not be surprised if she is personally responsible for keeping the entire Imperial Beach location running. Seriously, if you happen to see Byanca working when you visit, consider yourself lucky. Get a drink that she makes. You will not regret it. This was my first time seeing this better buzz after the remodels for terminal 1 at the San Diego Airport. I wish all airports had a Better Buzz ! Location was clean and bright! There was no line it was in the afternoon when I traveled and ordered my go to Banana Pudding Best Drink ever which was delicious! As I normally order better buzz the prices were pretty high plus a surcharge . My total was about $10 for a regular size not large drink. For the options at the airport , you can't beat better buzz coffee . Just be aware of the higher prices. They also have some kiosk to the side where you can also order from! read more

It tasted watered down, dark, and lacking much flavor. Someone really should be quality-checking the brewed coffee before serving it, because it was not what I expected from a coffee shop with such a good reputation. - Coconut Buzz: 4/5. actually quite good. You could really taste the coconut flavor, and the oat milk worked well. I imagine the coconut flavor would be even better had she ordered it with coconut milk. One to comment on was the wait. The brewed coffee took forever to come out. I'm not sure what was taking so long, especially for a regular brewed coffee. Again, this was NOT a pour over, and I know I can make my own pour over faster than this. We had arrived early for our flight, but by the time we finally got our drinks, the wait actually put us in danger of being LATE. Better Buzz is the perfect spot to grab a coffee or pastry before catching your flight! This location is in Terminal 1 of the San Diego airport, just past the TSA security area. Because of their location they get pretty busy since they are the first thing people see after entering the terminal, but their team works pretty hard to get drinks done quickly. The only reason I'm not giving them a full five stars is because I thought the coffee tasted pretty average for the cost. Also, I ordered a cold brew and probably half of the cup was ice. However, I ordered a pastry for my kid which was delicious. My husband had better luck with his coffee order, so I guess I just ordered the wrong item. Anyhow! Stopped here on my flight to Vegas. I needed something to eat and of course a coffee. I liked that they had the lines of kiosk to order. It moved fairly quickly and made ordering easy. They are pricey, however your portions are big! I ordered avocado toast with an egg and it came with a side salad. It was huge! Worth the price. It was also pretty delicious. Got a three seed avocado toast (which I regularly eat from better buzz) and the bread wasn't toasted at all. What I received was avocado spread and chunks of butter on limp bread. Totally get it mistakes happen, I waited until they had a minute and asked if it maybe forgot to get toasted, showed them the bread and the guy on warming said "I toasted it". My fiancée went up to the counter to ask politely for it to be remade, two of the girls on bar were talking sh*t about it and they told him "it's going to be burnt if we toast it again". I legit work at a coffee shop and have for 5 years, if something isn't right just make it again. I'd recommend talking about customers a little quietly. If you're that miserable work somewhere else. I've been here twice and it's always nice to see a Better Buzz greet you after TSA. The line goes pretty quickly, even if the line is kinda long sometimes. The food wait is average, sometimes I get it quick and sometimes there's a wait. Like another Yelpie stated, I looked at Better Buzz app and I was unable to find this location on the app, therefore, you can't use your Buzz points at this location. Hopefully this gets fixed since you can use your Starbucks app at the Terminal 2 location. Drinks are pretty good. I got my usual Best Drink Ever and an avocado toast. Ingredients were fresh and the toast was visually appealing, so much so that another customer said, "That looks good." The pickup process can be quite confusing since the servers name is also on your order sticker which causes some ppl to inadvertently think that it's their name on the food. If you're in a rush, you may accidentally grab someone else's order. This almost happened when someone picked up their order and then another person asked to look at the label on their food, which had her name on it but it was the servers name on it instead. This location is just past security in the new terminal 1 of San Diego airport. Fast service once you order, but took a bit of time for someone to come back to the counter to take orders while a line was forming. Also the prices were ridiculously high even by airport standards, plus there is an additional 2% airport surcharge on top of the elevated price. I got a honey latte which was $8 base plus $1 for oat milk. It tasted fine, but not worth $9. For food, I got the better breakfast sandwich, which decent and filling, but also not really worth $14.50. Also the staff member making food orders was just slapping things into containers and the pickup for food orders is separate from the pickup for drinks -- so if you order both, make sure you listen for your name at both counters. All in all, it is a decent coffee place, but there are more options in the terminal. read more

Yahoo! Terminal One is finally open and better than ever! Immediately after exiting security I was looking for coffee and there was a giant Better Buzz. The design and esthetics are welcoming and bright. It was clear where to order, easy to see the menus and plenty of space to wait for your drink. I believe they also offered a "mobile order" option, although I didn't use it. This spot had been open less than a month and there were a few hiccups (some employees still trying to navigate the menu screen and they ran out of cow's milk) but I believe both will shortly be straightened out and they'll be functioning at a high level in no time. My larger cold brew with almond milk was made carefully (I watched to make sure I wasn't given another milk or they skimped on the coffee, filling it mostly with ice) and they were careful to give me 'light ice' as I'd asked and plenty of cold brew with a splash of almond milk. It tasted great and I would highly recommend grabbing yourself something next time you're in the NEW TERMINAL ONE! read more

I ordered a latte and korean tofu wrap to bring onto my flight. The latte was good. The wrap... disgusting! Once I got settled onto my flight I opened it up to eat my lunch. The tofu tasted sour and old, the rice was hard, and the cucumber tasted like it had been in the wrap for 3 days at least. I tossed it immediately. I wish I had tried to eat at the airport, I would have asked for my money back. It was so disappointing to pay for such bad quality of food and to have nothing to eat on the long flight to Hawaii. I love Better Buzz and it's honestly one of my favorite places in San Diego. I visited one of their locations yesterday and received great service, which is why this experience at the SAN Airport location was so disappointing. I ordered a sandwich and waited nearly 30 minutes. During that time, I asked three different employees whether my order was coming up next. The first person simply looked at me without providing any help. The second told me they couldn't find my order or my name. Finally, a third employee told me to grab a sandwich from the grab-and-go section. What was especially frustrating was that another customer in line even spoke up and said, "Hey, he's been waiting for a long time." Despite that, there was still no acknowledgment or sense of urgency from the staff. I know Better Buzz is capable of providing excellent customer service because I've experienced it before. I come here on the weekends with my dog for a little walk in a pup cup, and I end up with coffee as well. They have never given me the pup cup without me, asking a second time and sometimes scolding me for not ordering it, when I did.. today though, the store was pretty empty at 8 AM Sunday morning.. I would admit that I was in a hurry., but I was in there for 10 minutes was told seven times that somebody would be right with me. And eventually left without ordering.. the drive-through though seem to be running pretty quickly maybe they prioritize the drive-through over people in the store. read more

We ordered the mocha buzz and matcha buzz. The matcha buzz came out but the mocha buzz never came out. I thought I heard my name called but a lady was hovering the counter and grabbed the drink without the staff verifying her so I asked the barista if mine was still being made. They asked for my name and pointed to a cup by the blender being made so I continued to wait. After 10 minutes my name was never called so they asked me what I was waiting for and they finally said they would make it. They said they didn't know what happened to my order. Poor customer service and they don't verify the drinks being picked up. Maybe it's industry standard but they only fill the blender with water in the sink and pour it out between drinks and the barista rinses his hand over the blender in the sink. $9 for a regular ice blended mocha and it wasn't even good.
