Better Buzz is the perfect spot to grab a coffee or pastry before catching your flight! This location is in Terminal 1 of the San Diego airport, just past the TSA security area. Because of their location they get pretty busy since they are the first thing people see after entering the terminal, but their team works pretty hard to get drinks done quickly. The only reason I'm not giving them a full five stars is because I thought the coffee tasted pretty average for the cost. Also, I ordered a cold brew and probably half of the cup was ice. However, I ordered a pastry for my kid which was delicious. My husband had better luck with his coffee order, so I guess I just ordered the wrong item. Anyhow! I'll definitely give them another chance next time I visit.

Waiting for a delayed flight in San Diego Airport, dying for refreshment, I found Better Buzz Coffee Roasters and stopped in to avoid my boredom. A clean, bright space, I ordered a Iced Honey Latte on the kiosk and whiled away the time at a small table, sipping and watching people walk by. Delicious coffee, not too sugary or sweet. Kudos to Better Buzz for being exactly where and when I needed them! If you're in SAN airport looking for a decent sip, try Better Buzz!

Stopped here on my flight to Vegas. I needed something to eat and of course a coffee. I liked that they had the lines of kiosk to order. It moved fairly quickly and made ordering easy. They are pricey, however your portions are big! I ordered avocado toast with an egg and it came with a side salad. It was huge! Worth the price. It was also pretty delicious. I would've liked just a little more flavor, but that's me. The service was quick and the atmosphere was chill. Would stop here again especially for the coffee.

Great for airport coffee and breakfast. I got the avocado toast which came with a salad. The service was not super fast but I had plenty of time. The seating area looked like it needed to be cleaned but I took my food to the gate. Not a bad deal for the amount of food. The coffee was great.

Tried this place for the first time, while traveling back home. Located inside the San Diego airport, so noise level was pretty loud. I did ask the cashier what was a good coffee to try. She suggested their Best Drink Ever. But I decided to try the Hazelnut Divinity. It was tasty and I enjoyed it. Customer service was good and I hope to try it again while in California again.

Great location right inside of New Terminal 1 after passing through TSA. The location is well lighted, clean, and has great cold shelf variety for purchase. They have the self service kiosks as well. It is a quick and easy way to grab a coffee, tea, small bite, or treat before your flight. I recommend this convenient location.

Got a three seed avocado toast (which I regularly eat from better buzz) and the bread wasn't toasted at all. What I received was avocado spread and chunks of butter on limp bread. Totally get it mistakes happen, I waited until they had a minute and asked if it maybe forgot to get toasted, showed them the bread and the guy on warming said "I toasted it". My fiancée went up to the counter to ask politely for it to be remade, two of the girls on bar were talking sh*t about it and they told him "it's going to be burnt if we toast it again". I legit work at a coffee shop and have for 5 years, if something isn't right just make it again. I'd recommend talking about customers a little quietly. If you're that miserable work somewhere else. Changed the review to 1 star because the service was that bad. First time leaving a 1 star.

I've been here twice and it's always nice to see a Better Buzz greet you after TSA. The line goes pretty quickly, even if the line is kinda long sometimes. The food wait is average, sometimes I get it quick and sometimes there's a wait. Like another Yelpie stated, I looked at Better Buzz app and I was unable to find this location on the app, therefore, you can't use your Buzz points at this location. Hopefully this gets fixed since you can use your Starbucks app at the Terminal 2 location. Drinks are pretty good. I got my usual Best Drink Ever and an avocado toast. Ingredients were fresh and the toast was visually appealing, so much so that another customer said, "That looks good." The pickup process can be quite confusing since the servers name is also on your order sticker which causes some ppl to inadvertently think that it's their name on the food. If you're in a rush, you may accidentally grab someone else's order. This almost happened when someone picked up their order and then another person asked to look at the label on their food, which had her name on it but it was the servers name on it instead. Location is bright and clean and the pastry case was adequately stocked. I would stop by again only because I love Better Buzz coffee.

Your review is already strong and detailed! Here's a slightly polished version with smoother flow and clarity while keeping your voice and meaning intact: --- The taste of their coffee is excellent--rich, smooth, and definitely worth coming back for! That said, the electronic ordering menu is a bit confusing. If you want an iced coffee, you don't actually click on "iced." Instead, you select "coffee" first, and then after choosing your drink, there's an option to add ice. I made the mistake of ordering an iced Vanilla Buzz coffee, only to realize it's actually a slushie-style drink! Thankfully, they understood the confusion since it's happened before and were more than happy to remake my drink. Great customer service! The only thing that would have made it even better is if they had asked whether anyone in my party wanted the original drink instead of throwing it away. I also ordered the Bacon Ciabatta (cage-free eggs, Muenster cheese, and spicy chipotle aioli on ciabatta), and it was excellent! The bread was light and crunchy--completely different (and much better!) than how it appeared. The flavors came together perfectly. The café is in a great location with comfortable chairs and tables, making it a nice spot to sit and relax. The bathrooms are conveniently located and not too far away, which is always a plus. Overall, great coffee and food--just be prepared to navigate the ordering screen carefully!

Honestly, this was a really lovely Better Buzz location even for being at the airport. Very spacious with lots of tables and outlets--definitely a good spot to kill time before a flight. My banana best drink ever was also really good! + Baristas were kind enough to give a tiny discount when I asked if they used the BB app (spoiler: they don't but be nice and maybe you'll get a discount too!)

Better Buzz Terminal One (near gate 119)

Yahoo! Terminal One is finally open and better than ever! Immediately after exiting security I was looking for coffee and there was a giant Better Buzz. The design and esthetics are welcoming and bright. It was clear where to order, easy to see the menus and plenty of space to wait for your drink. I believe they also offered a "mobile order" option, although I didn't use it. This spot had been open less than a month and there were a few hiccups (some employees still trying to navigate the menu screen and they ran out of cow's milk) but I believe both will shortly be straightened out and they'll be functioning at a high level in no time. My larger cold brew with almond milk was made carefully (I watched to make sure I wasn't given another milk or they skimped on the coffee, filling it mostly with ice) and they were careful to give me 'light ice' as I'd asked and plenty of cold brew with a splash of almond milk. It tasted great and I would highly recommend grabbing yourself something next time you're in the NEW TERMINAL ONE!

Food: 3.0 Coffee: 4.3 Service: 4.0 INSIDE NEW TERMINAL 1 San Diego after TSA OK I'm excited about the new terminal in San Diego, it's like a new indoor mall. But Better Buzz greets you right after TSA, so of course 6:30am we need some coffee. A modest line but it went quickly to order, then another short wait for our toasted bagel, hot mocha, and my drip coffee was already in-hand! Their house drip is nice and smooth and really doesn't need sugar or cream, wife is not particular so she was happy too with her mocha and their bagel is just a bagel but they do have a nice selection of pastries (sorry no pic), maybe need to try if I find out the pastries are supplied from a local bakery. A great location if you need a jolt of caffeine!

Unfortunately, this was the highlight. I ordered the "To die for" matcha with almond milk and no pumpkin cloud cream. My sister ordered the "To die for" latte with 2% milk, no pumpkin cloud cream, less milk, and more ice. We both ordered without modifications to the sweetness, under the assumption that the sweetness level wouldn't be particularly high. However, both drinks were entirely way too sweet and left a sharp aftertaste. We then ordered an additional shot of matcha and an additional shot of espresso, in hopes of remedying the taste. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't improved and we left. If you're a customer who is accustomed to a more matcha-forward taste, I would pass on this place. The matcha is pre-batched and tasted oxidized. If you're someone who likes a present espresso taste, I would recommend ordering with a quarter sweetness, although I'm not sure how that would affect the pumpkin flavor. On that note, the pumpkin flavor was difficult to place due to the sweetness, which also resulted in an inconsistent blend of flavors in both drinks. Maybe I'd come back to explore the trinkets.

‼ DISCRIMINATION! RACISM! ‼ I had an extremely uncomfortable…read moreand upsetting experience here while picking up a large coffee order for a wedding. When I arrived, there was a very long line, but because my order had already been placed, I went to the designated pickup area. While waiting, I watched the employee behind the counter speak politely and normally to other customers. When it was my turn, I turned my phone around and politely said, "Hi, I'm here to pick up for" Before I could even finish my sentence, the employee looked at my phone, rolled his eyes, turned away from me, and went to retrieve the order. There was no greeting, no acknowledgment, and no basic courtesy. He handed me the order while staring at me, rolled his eyes again, and immediately returned to the register. The interaction was so noticeably hostile that I looked back at him and asked, "What's your problem?" He immediately turned away and began helping someone else. I then asked another employee whether there was a manager available and explained what had just happened. Her response was essentially that there was "a lot going on" and that they were busy. Being busy does not excuse treating a customer disrespectfully especially when I had just watched other customers receive normal, courteous service. What made this experience particularly concerning was what happened next. While I was still making sure my large order was complete, another customer approached the pickup area. The same employee who would not even allow me to finish my sentence immediately greeted this man with, "Hello, how can I help you?" and proceeded to speak to him politely and professionally. That was the exact basic courtesy I had been denied only moments earlier. As a Black woman, I cannot ignore that difference in treatment. I watched this employee demonstrate that he was perfectly capable of greeting customers, communicating professionally, and being courteous. He simply chose not to extend that same treatment to me. Based on what I personally witnessed, the disparity felt prejudicial and discriminatory. I then walked to the neighboring sister establishment to ask how I could contact management because I had not been provided helpful management information inside the coffee shop. Ironically, the employee I spoke with there was also Latino, and he treated me with complete respect. He listened, offered to get a manager, asked whether I was okay, and apologized that I had experienced something uncomfortable. That interaction is important because my complaint is not about anyone's ethnicity it is about the specific behavior of the employees who dealt with me at the coffee shop. What was also strange was that the coffee shop employees who had just explained that everything was so hectic suddenly had plenty of time to stand at the counter and watch me while I spoke with the neighboring business. They continued watching me until I got into my car. There had been an enormous line of customers, yet somehow the "too busy" explanation disappeared when it came time to watch what I was doing after I asked about management. That made an already uncomfortable situation feel even more hostile. The Smoking Gun needs to seriously evaluate who it places in customer-facing positions. Customers should not have to wonder whether their race affected the basic level of dignity and courtesy they received. If an employee is overwhelmed or having a bad day, take a break, ask for help, or work away from the front counter. What you do not do is selectively discard basic manners with one customer and then immediately demonstrate those same manners to the next. I came in to pick up coffee for a wedding. I was polite. I was there to collect an order and leave. There was absolutely no reason for me to be treated with hostility. I will be filing a formal complaint with management regarding this incident. I hope management takes it seriously, reviews what occurred, and provides its staff with appropriate customer-service and anti-discrimination training. No paying customer should be treated as though basic respect is optional. And yes, they can run the cameras back it'll be in there ! Then to ice the cake, they literally got the order wrong and didn't give me all the items for the party that I was taking it to! Could look me up and down but not look the orders up and down !

First, street parking only but don't let that deter you from coming coz every inch or foot that you spend walking to this place is all worth it. Secondly, love the ambiance. Reminds me a lot of those ikazaya pubs in Japan but a little more chic and modern. They have bar seating of about 10 and 6-8 tables inside. But they also have outdoor seating. So I came at exactly 11 am and I was the second guest and they sat me at the bar. By 11:30 am, the entire resto was full, not granting it was a Saturday morning but people prolly got smart to come here early before the lunch crowd gets bigger. So for the food, I had to order their Hayachi Omurice and Chef Soichi's Chicken karage and both were BOMB! 11/10 each! Love the flavor of the rice and nice touch of thin slices of meat and the egg was perfectly made. I just wished there were heapings of those egg. The sauce was slightly tangy but love the flavor. The other star of my meal was the karage. Prolly the Top 2 karage I've had. I liked how they sliced in lengthwise and there not too much coating. And it wasn't oily and very juicy inside. Well seasoned and it came with lemon wedges and kewpie mayo. All I did was sprinkle some Nanami Togarashi for an added umami flavor. Overall, this should be on your top 10 restos in San Diego. Service was excellent, the servers were all friendly and always smiles!! Kudos to you guys!! I'll be back for sure!!
