What a cool little stop. We ordered the bacon grilled cheese, clam cakes and a grilled hot dog. I'm not sure why Arizona is so far behind the times and we still have to struggle with crappy hot dog buns that fall apart at the bottom seam. It was amazing to have a hot dog with a split top bun grilled in the sides! The dog was perfectly grilled and the bacon in the grilled cheese was nice and crispy. The clam cakes were tasty. They weren't overflowing with clams but they were reasonably priced. All in all it was a great little stop for diner food with comfortable outside seating and friendly service. read more

Yeah ,,, Well. The service is great. People nice service quick. Just two huge things that I do not care for. The first issue bring your cash they only take cash. Smart yes but if you forget cash they point out a ATM on the side of the building they own. Yup 4.00 to take out money lol. Pow that 3 dollar ice cream just turned into 7. Lol. Smarter than ya thought eh ? But still not a deal breaker. Number 2 This issue is a deal breaker. All set with this place they take your dirty money that has been God knows where and put it in the draw make you change no mistakes there. I've been going to Betty Ann's ever since I was a small child. Back then they used to have a mini golf course, but that has been removed in years past. Betty Ann's offers some awesome soft serve flavors which they change on a weekly basis (my favs are banana, cheesecake and pineapple) as well as sherbet flavors. I would recommend getting the soft serve sherbet twist which is a combination of the week's featured flavors. The line can get really long on a weekend night so expect a wait. There are only two service windows and I've seen the line wrap around the building before. The offer some seating under a canopy but you can also grab a cone (or bowl!) and take a stroll along the canal which is across the road. Betty Ann's is a must stop if you're driving through Buzzard's Bay on your way to the cape, or capping off your vacation coming back. read more

Betty Ann's just isn't the same since new ownership took over last summer. A couple things I really don't like now: 1 - No call ahead take out for food anymore. If 20 people from work want food from BAs for lunch, someone has to go there, order and wait 20-30 minutes for food. Which leads to the second problem... 2 - You have to put condiments on the food yourself (old Betty Ann's used to do it). There is not really anywhere to sit and enjoy a meal there. A couple of picnic tables in the back of the parking lot is about it. So I have to unwrap my burger or hot dog, add condiments, wrap it back up, drive a few minutes down the street to find a nice place to eat my now cold lunch/dinner. If you are picking up food for a group good luck. 3 - it's just not the same, the signs are different, no picture menu of the side of the building, menu seems more limited. Of course the ice cream is still good, there isn't really anywhere else in the immediate area to get soft serve ice creams and sherbets. read more

Betty Ann's has a huge menu of sundaes and ice cream varieties, but it doesn't matter to me. "Chocolate-vanilla swirl cone with a chocolate dip"is my order every single time. Luckily my husband will usually let me steal a bite of whatever he gets (usually something with cherry dip topping. yum!) The last time we visited we had our dog with us. Betty Ann's had a special canine sized treat with a bone on top. Talk about a happy dog! The one downside of Betty Ann's is that it's on the mainland side of the bridge, so you have to be smart about when you visit if you don't want to wait in traffic. Even still we once bit the bullet and waited in Friday night traffic for an hour afterwards because Betty Ann's is that good. read more

I post this review with disappointment. This place was my childhood haunt. I have enjoyed many clam cakes and ice creams here over the years. But today was a shock. They have done away with their food menu so they no longer serve clam cakes and other items. The service was slower and more inaccurate than normal. My wife ordered coconut soft serve and they served her vanilla. When she went and asked about it, they gave her a sample of the ice cream which again tasted like vanilla. They did not fix it. I'll be thinking twice before I comeback here. read more

I'm new to MA, but I get the feeling that Betty Ann's is a Buzzards Bay institution. Their sign indicates they have been there for over 50 years. It's a no-frills operation with limited outdoor seating (in the sun during the afternoon). The prices are cheap, especially for the food. I got a grilled cheese sandwich today ($1.90!) and it was everything I want out of a simple grilled cheese: buttery, gooey, yum. I also had a delicious strawberry shake that had real strawberries in the bottom! Not bad at all for a soft-serve joint. read more

This is a great summer spot. All soft serve ice cream with yummy sundaes, dips and frappes. Their peanut butter sundaes are especially good. The big surprise to this place is how good their food is. The window girls at Betty Ann's probably laugh at me and my girlfriend because whenever we go to the Cape we are there every night. I think we went 5 nights in a row at the beginning of the summer. Lately I have been getting just a vanilla soft serve with twinkle kote (yea some of you know what twinkle kote is, don't lie). If you don't care about calories, get the black magic, it is made with a homemade brownie and it is great. Everything I have had at Betty Ann's has been delicious. This place is good but I think that they may be under new ownership. The place is spiffed up (not that it was a dump before) and they still make some unique soft serve flavors, in fact i have seen some new ones, i.e. pistachio. The downside to the change is that they shortened the list of sundae toppings. I used to love the hot blueberries and the hot apples.
