YUMMY! It's been about 25 years. I was with my mom and was craving a fisherman's platter. I have been coming here since I could drive myself (90s) just for the onion rings. These are the onion rings that I compare all onion rings to. The think crispy, not overly battered, summer in your mouth onion rings. The scallops, fish, whole bellied delicious clams and shrimp are delectable. They also have a raspberry lime rickey that I guess is a New England thing, but so hard to find if you enjoy a refreshing summer drink. Oh they have ice cream too... if you have room. Everyone complains about the staff, I get it. they aren't that friendly. You can't fix miserable and you aren't going there for the staff. I'm honestly still in shock after my experience tonight. I went to Kool Kone for dinner with my 11-month-old, and when I got my food, the ground beef was pink. I calmly went up to the window just to bring it to their attention -- not asking for a refund or free food, because I understand mistakes happen. Instead, I was met with the owner yelling at me, insisting that ground beef turns pink when reheated but is "fully cooked." My jaw was on the floor. As a parent, that response was incredibly concerning and completely unprofessional. There's 30+ different kinds of ice cream and if they have a name with anything other than chocolate, orange, pistachio, etc. good luck ordering. Four blue plate specials - cheese burgers with fries, chicken tenders with fries, and lobster roll with six drinks for $72 (tip not included) the lobster roll is decent. They have food from normal burgers and dogs to a large variety of fresh seafood. We tried a lot of options and every appetizer is huge besides broccoli poppers which was normal and still delicious. We went for lunch today. We ordered various items from chowder to a seafood platter to a burger, quesadilla, onion rings and fries. The kids also had ice cream. The food- very good for the most part with the exception of the burger (don't order a burger). The overall experience was so so. The girl working the food pick up window was bossy and abrasive. She could use some customer service training to say the least. The dining area was dirty and cold. The benches to sit on were filthy (both sandy and sticky). If the dining area is going to be unattended and uncared for perhaps a paper towel dispenser and a bottle of spray cleaner should be left in the room so people can clean the area themselves before sitting to eat. We were there over an hour on this 48 degree day and we froze in the dining area. We could see the thermostat was set to 69 but the heat never turned, it for sure was not 69 degrees in there and got colder and colder every time someone opened the door. We'll go back again because we have gift certificates to use up but we'll either eat in the car or bring some Clorox wipes to wipe things down before we sit. read more

These plates come with french fries, cole slaw, & tartar sauce and are packed to the rim with fried, delectable goodness. Bought a dozen clam cakes on 10/09/22 and they charged me $17.12 that was ridiculous high and they weren't that good.

Kool Kone is one of those places that bring you back to being a kid in a good way. The seafood is great and I love the blue plate specials, just wish the burger patties were a bit better quality as they taste like school burgers. The chicken tenders are fantastic and you get a lot for what you pay for it's a great value. The other part I like is they also have great ice cream and Sundays as well. I first saw this place on TV and decided I had to try it. The batter is awesome and the tarter sauce homemade. Menu ranges from creative "seasonaly featured" sundaes to seafood and spaghetti. I don't give 5 stars for being the best restaurant in town, I give 5 stars for being the best of it's type, and this is. You can't get better value for your food dollar in Wareham. You eat in your car or at indoor or outdoor picnic tables. There is no atmosphere, just good (not great) food. It is also an ice cream stand, but they have separate windows for food vs ice cream. They close down in the Winter. In Spring and Fall, they may close early if the weather is bad and there are few customers. I really like the fish chowder (big chunks of fish) and the Shrimp Mozambique. You never know what may appear on the specials board. I have even had swordfish there. There are times in the Summer where you will have to stand in line a long time to place your food order. read more
