One-Star Review of Betty Boop Cleaning Services, LLC
After a full year of working with Betty Boop Cleaning Services, LLC, I find myself compelled to share an honest and thorough assessment of their services, which has been nothing short of a continuous source of frustration and disappointment. As a client who values professionalism, respect for one's time and property, and adherence to agreed-upon standards, I have encountered none of these qualities with this company or its owner, Erick.
From the outset, Erick has proven to be difficult to work with, showing a distinct lack of regard for customer satisfaction. During our very first cleaning, his team broke a valuable, ornate gift that had been given to us by a close friend who had brought it from India. In addition to this, the cleaning team caused severe damage to our walls, which necessitated costly maintenance repairs including repatching and repainting. Despite the seriousness of these damages, Erick made no meaningful attempt to address the situation or offer appropriate compensation for these issues.
Scheduling with Erick has been an ongoing challenge. All appointments are arranged via text message directly to him, which in theory may seem convenient but, in practice, is anything but. His responses are inconsistent at best, often ignoring or delaying responses until it is convenient for him. Even when he does respond, the time slots he offers are often far from what we originally requested. Worse, he has manipulated my fiancée--who is a naturally kind and accommodating person--into agreeing to cleaning times that we never authorized, leaving us to scramble and adjust our schedules to accommodate his last-minute changes.
One particularly egregious incident occurred when we had a family funeral to attend. Naturally, we had to cancel our scheduled cleaning. Despite the circumstances, Erick attempted to charge us the full cleaning fee for the cancellation, a policy which was neither explained clearly nor fairly applied. We had to adjust our plans to ensure the cleaning could proceed, just to avoid an unfair $170 cancellation fee. Shortly after, Erick once again attempted to reschedule a cleaning for an earlier time, citing a double booking. However, when we pointed out that his own policies should apply to him and his company, he simply ignored us for the day, finally relenting and keeping the original time we had requested. This disregard for consistency and fairness in enforcing his own policies speaks volumes about the unprofessionalism of his business.
Over time, the quality of the cleaning service itself has deteriorated significantly. We have endured several instances of damage, including broken blinds, scratched walls from improper vacuum use, and the careless application of oven cleaner to our toaster oven, despite explicit instructions not to use such a product. This resulted in the complete malfunction of our toaster oven, an issue we did not raise out of consideration for the job security of the cleaning crew. However, despite our patience and understanding, the service continued to worsen with each visit.
While I cannot definitively prove it, it is difficult not to suspect that Erick may have instructed his team to neglect certain tasks or intentionally damage our property as a form of retaliation for our repeated complaints. Although this remains speculative, the frequency and nature of the damages we experienced raise serious concerns about the motivations behind this pattern of poor service.
To add further insult to injury, Erick has now ceased responding to any requests for new appointments entirely. This recent behavior is consistent with the pattern of disregard and disrespect we have endured throughout the year. One might wonder why we continued using the service despite these issues. The reality is that we were not aware of many alternative cleaning services in our area that offered competitive pricing, and those we did find were top-tier services with prohibitively high rates ranging from $400 to $600 per cleaning.
It is also important to note that I had initially written a negative review following our first cleaning experience. Erick reached out, offering discounts on future services in exchange for removing the review, which I now recognize as a manipulative tactic to protect his business ratings. In hindsight, I regret removing that review, and I question how many other customers have been coerced into doing the same. This unethical approach to maintaining a positive business image is not only unfair but also deeply concerning.
In conclusion, after enduring a year of unprofessional service, manipulative behavior, and consistent damage to our home, I cannot in good conscience recommend Betty Boop Cleaning Services, LLC, to anyone. Erick's disregard for his customers' time, property, and well-being is unacceptable, and I strongly urge potential customers to seek alternatives. read more
