I have coming here for years.. no make that decades and it never disappoints... English Cuts are their signature donut but they have many, many at pocket-change prices... the home made breads.. nut and fruit ones too are dense and delicious. Danishes and ither pastries a true trat. The colorful and fun showcase of cheery cookies, cupcakes etc brings a smile to your face as they beg to go home with you... the wedding cakes are stunning like you find at high-end urban market pieces. ... hey also breakfast sandwiches and the like to go! Filling for creme sandwiches is table sugar and oil. Filling is hard not soft. The Oreo filling is better! A mom and pop bakery can do a damn sight better than Kraft! Doesn't say much about Betty Kay. read more

After watching Samantha Brown's show on the Finger Lakes where she highly recommended Betty-Kay's bake shop we made sure to make a stop in Bath on our way to Hammondsport. We were not impressed. We bought three different doughnuts which didn't taste any better than what we get at our local grocery store. We also bought two different kinds of cookies. The molasses cookies tasted like they had been sitting around for a few days. read more

Superb products made the old-fashioned way with quality ingredients, skill and love. The rhubarb pie & angel food cake rivaled my Mom's - something I've never, ever felt about any baker during decades of searching in vain! (My 90-year-old Mom set an extremely high bar.) Betty-Kay had never made angel food cake, yet agreed to at my special request - she had to search for a recipe and the result was all that I'd hoped for and more - an over-the-top birthday treat! Betty Kay is my go to for coffee, bagels, muffins, donuts, and cookies. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I never leave without a smile. The coffee is always hot and they always have a hot fresh back up thermos waiting behind the scenes. Their coffee is fair trade, all the coffee beans are roasted the day they are ordered, and ground right before the coffee is brewed. You can't get fresher coffee around here. I really can't say enough about their baked goods. They have everything from donuts to cookies and cakes, and it is all excellent. As far as the place itself, it is just a small shop that seats 4 inside and 4 outside. It is a nice place to grab a donut and coffee, just keep in mind the limited seating. Also, there is one kind of hot coffee and one kind of iced coffee, that being said, both are very good. A great local place with excellent treats and coffee, for an even better price. I grew up in Bath and remembered this bakery from my childhood. I know it's not the same owners, but they have absolutely done my memory justice (how often does that happen?) DELICIOUS! (and it still smells just like it did when I was a kid ... mmmm) Based on another review here on yelp I made certain to purchase the raspberry long john and was not disappointed ... great doughnut dough, excellent frosting and the raspberry filling was fantastic (not to mention the filling actually went through the entire doughnut...yay :) OH YEAH, just bit into a snowball (my favorite when I was a kid) so yummy. My husband and I are renewing ... My husband and I are renewing our vows July 2013. We decided to do our renewal in the Keuka Lake area and we were looking for a bakery that had good reviews to contact for our cutting cake. We arrived for the consulation but were never told about a fee. We put $75 down, this was in April 2012. We started having problems with our main venue and decided to find another site, that was in our local area and not Keuka Lake. I called the bakery to cancel in August 2012. I was told that there is a $40 consulation fee for there time that they spent with us. Talk about nickle and diming people, that is riduculous and I have never heard of anything like this. I gave them ample time to cancel our order. Mind you we did not spend tons of time on the consulation since they were waiting on customers coming into the bakery. Please be aware this bakery is nothing special and they are definitely out for the money and not the customer. I chose a florist in Keuka Lake that refuses to lose my business and is delivering my order to my new location. That is what customer service is all about. read more

So I have a rant...my son and daughter bought their wedding cake from Betty Kay Bake Shop​ and it was very expensive. Before the vows were over, the cake starting falling apart. First it was just flowers, then the pieced of the front came off. When I called to tell the owner this, she first offered me a small refund. Like 10%. She calls me back today and says she won't offer anything because "her employee said the table was uneven so its not their fault" I replied, she should have told someone working there then. I am so disappointed. I've gone to this bakery my whole life. But seriously, the table was not uneven. The cake was. :( I won't be going back read more

I stopped in to grab a quick bite on my way out of town and I'm so glad I did! The staff was so friendly and my homemade English muffin was perfectly toasted with great texture and flavor. was there yesterday and ordered a few things, the lady rang me up while I think the owner was lurking around ...just as I got my change back the owner starts hammering her on what I had paid for and what the prices were. Belittling her in front of me .charging me for a regular cupcake instead of a character cupcake ....a difference of 65 cents ..well the cupcake was hard and stale and wasn't worth 25 cents let alone 1.50 ..its hit or miss here...fresh baked goods mixed in with things that have been in the case for a bit...ms owner have a little tact next time in dealing with your employees ... read more

So this bakery has changed owners a few times over the years, but the product is still FANTASTIC and the service OUTSTANDING! I have been coming to Bath, New York for many years from a small town in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I have fallen in love with some of the different items over the years like the snowballs and cookies. But there are a couple of items that are no longer on the menu and yet when I call a day or two ahead of time and make a special request, I am always able to get those special items!
