This shop is managed by one of the best techs in the area (Charles), and I highly recommend him! He will take care of your issue quickly, and do his best to make sure you walk out the door smiling! The owner (Paul), however, is another story entirely, and it is because of his dishonorable nature and legal history that I am writing this anonymous review. Unfortunately, this shop is owned by one of the most lazy, dishonest, and greedy people I've ever met. The head tech (Charles) is great, he knows his stuff and will treat you like a human being instead of just another customer. The owner (Paul) on the other hand, does not, and will do anything to make as much money as he can from every person who walks through his door. I was in the shop dealing with Charles as another customer walked in. The other customer was simply looking for a quick fix to a minute issue (a wireless connectivity issue or something like that)...Paul walked out from the back room, took one look at the laptop, and without even checking to see what the issue was he told the customer TO THEIR FACE, "It's a piece of sh*t, buy a new one from us," and refused to hear the customer out about what the actual situation was, repeatedly telling him, "Yea, it's a piece of sh*t." Paul started a large job for us and left it unfinished. He then had to come back out multiple times to try and fix his shoddy work, and then he had the audacity and nerve to overcharge for every visit he made, despite the fact that the job was never finished, and the state he left us in was worse than where we were before we asked him to "help". I was informed 'off the record' that instead of trying to figure out why we were displeased, he dismissed our complaints by calling us all idiots and claiming we have no idea what we're talking about. He also refuses to guarantee any of his work, citing any issues his customers have as 'user error'...if it simply doesn't work after he's left, it's hardly a 'user error'. Please, if you do business with this shop, deal with Charles and Charles ALONE...avoid Paul at all costs, you will save yourself a tremendous headache and a completely unreasonable bill for fourth-rate work. His retail prices are through the roof as well. I would go so far as to say to deal with Charles independently of Beverly Computer so that Paul doesn't see a dime of your money, but I'll leave that up to you. Charles, thank you for your amazing work and assistance, we will be coming back to you in the future...forget Paul. Please open your own shop!!! read more

I went to Beverly Computer after I suspected the "techs" at Staples had mis-diagnosed a problem with my laptop and told me it was not repairable. (This was my second experience with poor troubleshooting by Staples.) My suspicions were confirmed. The Beverly Computer guys not only told me it could be fixed but gave me an estimate to do the job up front. They were practically able to isolate the problem based on my description, without even having to turn it on! Sure enough, they were able to do the repair, which also included an upgrade, and ended up charging me slightly less than the estimate. They missed their turnaround time promise by one day, but that's a very small price to pay for the level of service I got, so I'm not upset at all about that. These guys are GREAT! They listen, they care, they are very technically competent and they want badly to make their customers happy - it sure worked for me! Dave D... Unfortunately, you have the same name as someone that works there, and actually lives in the same town, so it looks like a pfalfed up review. I assure you all, we are entirely different people. I have never written a review about our own place, but I will tell you all that we have outstanding service to such a degree that we have customers coming from 150 miles away, because they know that they can get immediate service, with possible complete repair while they wait, or go to lunch. I had a hard drive failure, didn't really know where to go. I called these folks up. They analyzed the computer and as promised within 24 hours called back with prognosis and very reasonable rates. Even a couple different approaches to take. All of my data was restored and recovered. Then, next day my monitor died. They offered me to bring it in and see if they could repair it and gave me a small loaner monitor as well while they had mine. Great folks, great rates, quick turnaround when you are in a pinch. read more

My computer crashed and I had the "blue screen of death" on my dell laptop. I brought the computer in this morning, they called me a couple of hours later after diagnosing the problem and gave me some options. By early afternoon, I was up and running again with a new hard drive and everything working as before. Professional, friendly service and very reasonable rates. My external hard drive crashed (which I find they do every so many years). I had six-plus years of data on that drive that I needed desperately! Paul was able to retrieve all of my data, back it up onto a new external hard drive, all for a fraction of the price I've paid for similar services at other data recovery centers. Great Service here! I had gone to Best Buy for a repair estimate (I needed the screws tightened in my laptop screen) they wanted over $300! I decided to go down the Beverly Computer. The owner was extremely kind and efficient. The repair took 1 day and only cost less than a third of the price that the chain store wanted to charge me. He also talked to me about the computers he sells and I will definitely be purchasing my next computer from them! read more

Had a problem with the power supply on my Dell and brought it in for Paul to take a look. He diagnosed the fried motherboard right away and instead of charging me for an expensive repair he recommended another machine. He took it upon himself to put the order in and it arrived within a few days. Very pleased with the performance of my new laptop and the level of service and knowledge from Beverly Computer. I just got my laptop back from Beverly Computer. It is running great! Paul diagnosed the problem, a bad keyboard, and ordered a new one. While replacing the keyboard, he noticed that my computer had several other issues that needed attention. Paul fixed them and now my laptop is working great! Superb service. The computers I have brought in for virus problems have all been fixed and the new computer I have works superbly.
