On May 6 I called BH Cab in advance for a 5pm trip from Westwood to LAX and reconfirmed just before. No taxi showed up. I waited 15 minutes to call back and got an automated response. Luckily I snagged an Uber. An hour later at the airport I got another automated call from BH advising that they were still searching! A neighbor was similarly let down. This company used to be 100% reliable--I've used them for 20 years--but it's clear from my experience and recent reviews that they've abandoned the idea of customer service. read more

Beware - they do not show up on time for reservations! I am sharing this information to help others avoid the same issue with this company. On February 23, 2024, I called and reserved pick up at my home for February 25, 2024, at 8:00 PM to LAX. On February 25, 2024, in the morning, I called and confirmed my reservation. On February 25, 2024, at 7:49 PM, they called and said they were looking for a driver to accept the ride and asked if I still wanted a taxi. Really?! I said, yes, and expected someone to arrive as reserved and confirmed. They said they would send a driver. At 7:52 PM I received an automated call saying a taxi was assigned and would arrive in 5-10 minutes. At 8:09 PM the taxi did not arrive, so I called and continued to call three more times until 8:25 PM, during which time they said the driver was on the way and would arrive in 5-10 minutes. At 8:30 PM we had to give up waiting and drive our car to LAX so we did not miss our flight. Taking and confirming a reservation for a specific time and then intentionally failing to deliver is deceptive! read more

I booked a car 1 hour in advance to go for a surgery. They never showed up and no call telling me they could not find a driver. I use to feel sorry for cab companies since Uber and Lyft hit the market but with service like this-they should close their doors. It no longer works. No excuses for their poor service. I had to drive myself and leave my car overnight in the parking lot as to not no show for a schedules eye surgery. Uber or Lyft is the way to go, nice drivers and prompt service. It is amazing. Just had an awful experience with Beverly Hills cab #2816 pickup from LAX. I got in the car, told the driver where I was going and he flew into an incomprehensible rant and rage that I this wasn't going to be a good fair for him. Proceeded to rant about a $30 minimum, how he was 'paying' the LAX origination fee of $5. Of course he wasn't paying that, it was to be added to my fare as it always is. I was appalled to be yelled at for NO REASON and told him to stop arguing as I was going to pay and I asked if I needed to get out of the cab and find someone else. We have been using bhc for 20 years and their service has gone downhill. The last two times we ordered a cab it was over 30 minutes late which made our trip to the airport and boarding extremely stressful. I called about six times and the dispatcher lied to me saying the cab was 2/3 minutes away and "rest assured it will be there". I am furious with them and will not be using them again. Terrible ride in Cab 3244 with a driver who picked us up at LAX and drove like a maniac, racing at speeds of up to 90 mph on the freeway, weaving in and out of lanes, and screaming at other drivers. Refused to slow down, he spent most of the time railing about politics in a thick accent that was probably from Russia or eastern Europe. Hostile, unpleasant, and, dangerous is how I would describe my experience with the Beverly Hills Cab Company. Quite possibly the worst cab experience ever. Called for a cab from our hotel, waited over 20 minutes, cab driver was unapologetic for the delay, extremely rude and had an attitude when we said we were paying with a credit card (which we had also told the dispatcher so it shouldn't have been a surprise). When we checked our bank account the next day come to find out the cabbie charged us twice for our cab fare, and increased the second charge by $2.00. When we called their corporate offices the woman "took a message" and was surprised when I wouldn't give her my credit card number over the phone to put on the message she was leaving on someones desk. Hello!!! Your company already charged me incorrectly and now you expect me to allow you to leave my credit card number lying around on a piece of paper?! No one ever called me back from the company to address the issue and now we are having to file a claim against them with our bank. I am a frequent cab user. Period. Tried the rest. Beverly Hills cab is the best. Maybe not the cheapest. But you can't get fast, cheap and good. Fast and good is plenty for me! Nice cab drivers. Whenever I call for a cab I have to make sure I am ready. Their arrival is from 5 mins to 15 usually. I mainly use the cab at night. I haven't had a single issue with them not showing up or taking a long time. But maybe becos I am a return customer and they already know my address when I call. :) Seriously Prompt & Clean is what you want. I lost my wallet & called the cab co. They had it saved for me!! Picking up today. Wooooot! Other cab companies take an hour or don't even come by! They flake on you. Annoying. Cab drivers aren't all friendly and nice and neither are you ;) THOUGH!!!!!! I do wish they would take credit cards and have machines already in place to use like most other cities. ie: NYC, VEGAS. Waiting 5 mins for the 1980 way is bad. No one really carries cash anymore. My bf and I got into this cab at LA airport aournd 9pm. We were going to Westin LA airport. The driver asked us again where we are going and the address. My bf said "I am looking up the address for you, just give me a minute. You can go ahead start driving since we are blocking the traffic." The cab driver insisted not moving till he gave him the address. Finally he started driving after my bf found the address of Westin LA airport on his smart phone. It was the rude attitude and voice that was really bothering us. We felt that we were respectful for his service and paying for the service but not has attitude. The driver even said something like: "you have never taken cab in LA. Later, he told us that there is a free shuttle from the airport to Westin. It costed us $18, and we suffered from his yelling and rude attitude. Some one should have a talk with this driver and teach him what is satisfying customer service. I spent twenty minutes listening to their "we are currently assisting other customers and will be with you shortly" message before I gave up and called Taxi! Taxi! While they don't service Westwood, they directed me back to Beverly Hills Cab! I told them they weren't picking up and Taxi! Taxi!'s operator seemed very surprised, then referred me to United Cab. I'm sorry: how is it in today's world, when you clearly give a cab company your address, they have to ask you all sorts of "waymarking" questions: i.e., "What's the cross street?" It's called Google Maps and GPS in the cabs, people. You'd think they'd be - oh, I don't know - useful to your industry. All of that would be a minor inconvenience if Beverly Hills Cab didn't compound it by contributing major stress to the travel experience by showing up 20 minutes late when you have an international flight to Paris. Possibly the worst cab service in existence. Strike that - DEFINITELY the WORST cab service in existence. Recap of Sat night: I called Beverly HIlls cab because I was in Beverly HIlls. Logical right? Call #1: Requested cab, gave info, everything seemed normal. "It'll be there in 10-15 minutes." Call #2 - 20 minutes later: Asked for status of cab. They couldn't tell me but "we'll send over to you right away." Call #3 - 20 minutes later: Asked for status of either of the first two cabs. "I'll send one over to you right away. I'm Bob, the dispatcher, so I'll make it happen for you, I promise." 20 minutes later (Note - a full HOUR since the initial call), I decided to just drive my friend and I to the club we were heading to, thus making me a designated driver for the night and unable to drink. I call using my car's bluetooth - I get put on hold.. and on hold.. until I'm about to ARRIVE at the club. I tell them to cancel my cab and the dispatcher girl doesn't seem to care at all - "Uh huh, ok, bye *click*" Cliff notes - I waited an hour for a cab that never came. The employees are morons, liars, and obviously don't care about their customer service. Would never use again and will be telling everyone in my area to avoid. read more

I had a $37.45 cab ride and the driver charged me $370.45 x 2 on top of the $37.45 I owed him. Accounting would NOT call my card company to reverse the charges and were reluctant to do anything to help. The other crappy cab company etiquette is really just par for the course. Despite being very quick to respond, I am shocked at the way I was treated both by the cab driver, and the people on the phone. I was yelled at, called 4 times in a row when I was not outside immediately when the cab showed up, and when I got in the cab the driver yelled at me for 10 minutes! Because I was on a building on a campus that didn't have an address, they screamed at me until I provided some street number, and then screamed some more when it took me 5 minutes to walk out of my building to the address. I will be going out of my way to avoid calling this service in the future, which can be hard because they have many different phone numbers and are referred to me often because of how close they are to my apartment. read more

By far the worst taxi driver experience of my life. Angry scary driver. I grew up in New York City and have been in hundreds of cabs and never had a driver yell at me for approaching his cab despite having called for the service. And then yell about the noise coming from the TV in the back seat of the car (that plays advertisements.) While driving he took his eyes off the road to mess wth the TV until he could unplug it (was it not on before I got in the cab?) I kept silent for the rest of the ride for fear of setting the angry driver off further. Then the cost of the ride was also incredibly high. $1 short of the cost of coming from the airport for a trip that was much shorter than that. He also had only $1 change so I had to leave a bigger tip than I wanted to leave (scam?). Due to this driver I will never use this service again. Please use Uber or Lyft and don't reward this awful company (I only took them because my phone had died and I didn't want to be stranded so someone else called a cab for me.) When I lived in Washington dependable cabs were scarce. Once I tried calling all the numbers on the side of the cab and nobody answered at any of the cab companies. I called at least 10 of them. So I was a little skeptical when it came to ordering a cab in BH. Since NOBODY WALKS IN LA we mostly have our own cars and there's really no reason to take a cab anywhere unless 1) you're planning on getting really drunk, or 2) you're going to the airport. I fell into the latter category. After several early morning cab rides with Beverly Hills Cab I can honestly say that they deserve 5 stars. The dispatchers are kind and efficient. Their drivers arrive when you ask. They take you where you want to go. They leave you at the curb. The end. Now this might sound really simple -- so much so that ANYBODY can do it, but trust me.... in the cab industry, it's not that easy. Sometimes dispatchers drop the ball and don't enter your info. Mix up AM/PM or forget to add a zero at the end of your address. North West, South East, whatever-- they can really screw you over if they don't get it right. Once back in DC I had to ride my bike in the pouring rain to a Metro station because I couldn't get a cab at 4:30 in the morning. AND I LIVED ACROSS THE STREET FROM A CAB COMPANY. Imagine my relief when I moved to LA. What a great company! I dread the day when I might move away from the domain of BH Cab. I'll just have to spend the night at a friend's house to be able to use them-- and make sure I get to my destination on time. read more

We used this cab company twice on Valentine's day. First time around, we called them from the Aqua Lounge and my friend accidentally gave the dispatcher the wrong street name. That did get sorted out and they found us and took us to our next destination over on Sunset. After an hour later of boozing and eating appetizers, we waited outside and within a couple of minutes the first cab we flagged happened to be from the same company. It was a different driver who took us back home to Sherman Oaks. He was friendly and we had a good ride back. Despite not really using a GPS, both of the drivers got us to our destinations in good and reasonable time with no missed turns. Would definately use them again. read more

And aside from my personal gripes, and complaints, about working here Just take into consideration for a moment That we have up-words of 200 to 300 taxi's on the road Realistically it is more like 150 to 200 nightly We as dispatchers, have to deal with Lost and found (from Cell phone's to laptops to keys Even Shoes And Underwear) Yes I Said That, wrong Addresses, Drunk and Belligerent, customers. Passengers Who bail out without paying, Oh And The seasoned Party People Who Like to Call 3 cab Company's at once And take The one who arrives first. Or How A Bout the cab arrives and The passenger says Wait We ordered a VAN But They really did not (It's All Recorded People) Oh You Did ? Then how many people in your party ? 11 then you would need 2 vans And We don't always have that many vans at our disposal And Every Friday Without fail Missy calls and Says We Need 5 Van Cabs But were not going that far ! Then there is and This Is "My All Time Favorite" We call to advise the customer that the Taxi Is Arriving But Guess what they don't Answer and the phone goes directly to voice mail ! Great So We Call back sometimes 3 times But I Never Got A Call saying the Taxi was here ! is the expected reply ! The even more hated call out, Passenger answers the phone and says nothing. Or Hello, and then proceeds to talk to their friends and ignores our call all together. Next Is the Old, Answer The phone And Just plain hang up ! (What The Hell Is That Supposed to mean ? ) people we are not mind readers, but were expected to figure out if the Customer Is Coming Out Or not based on a hung up phone ? "Gimme A Break" ! Being A Call-taker Or A Dispatcher takes a certain type and lots of people "Can Not" handle it Due to the pressure and lets not even talk about the wages I will however be one of the first to admit that there are some real Nasty Cab drivers All Over Our City, I myself Have even been played with by cab drivers from other Companies Even After Telling Them that I'm A dispatcher, And I used to Drive A cab As well ! But I will also defend the majority of the drivers who work for Beverly Hills Taxi ! Because They really do care ! And They Are Honest Too ! Oh By The Way ! if you get into a "Los Angeles" Taxi and the driver Refuses to accept your credit card, all you have to do is call the Dispatcher and say this driver says he won't or can't accept my credit card. and The dispatcher or supervisor will process it for you ! just Keep in mind that their is a minimum Charge ! And Last But Not Least Having a problem with a Driver ? Get the Cab # and report them If You don't like a particular driver Ask To Have that driver not pick you up it will be on your order every-time you call do not send driver # ???? The Same goes for Call-takers and Dispatchers We all have to identify ourselves with an operator # P.S. There Are streets in L.A. That run through Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, West Hollywood And Then into Los Angeles Again not to mention duplicate street names as well is it really that big of a thing to know your cross street ? or to maybe ask somebody and especially before you attempt to call a cab !
