Beverly Hills Cab I have been using Beverly Hills Cab for over 30 years going from my house in Westwood to LAX about 4 times a year. I have been very satisfied with their service and reliability. In May, 2024, we decided to travel again after a 5 year stop due to Covid. Before I made a reservation, I decided to check the BH Cab website to see if any changes were made. I noticed they offered a flat fee of $39 from Westwood and Santa Monica to LAX. I assumed they offered this rate due to the competition from Uber and Lift. I called to confirm this and after I gave my house address to the operator, she said the flat fee of $39 was correct. I told her I would call the next day to make a reservation for the day and time for pickup. When I called the following day and made the reservation, I wanted to again confirm the $39 flat fee. The operator told me there is NO flat fee even though their website showed it. I made the reservation and then asked to speak to a Supervisor. The operator replied there is no Supervisor. Later that day, I checked the BH Cab website and the $39 flat fee was removed. read more

I am tracking him through Find My Iphone app and see him driving all around town. I called the company twice and I was told I would receive a call within 24 hours. Didn't happen. Scheduled an early morning pickup (4:30a) for a 6a flight. Wanted a cab because I knew ride shares would be unreliable at that hour. I called the day before at 10am and spent 10 minutes patiently giving my pickup location and information with the receptionist. I had to spell my name and address multiple times very slowly. I called back at 4p to double confirm the pickup at 4:30a for the next day. This morning, the day of, I called at 4:19a to confirm they were on there way. Receptionist said they were. With more pressure the truth came out that they did not even have an assigned driver. The receptionist said the driver would call in 10 minutes. 10 minutes passes (now 4:30a)... I call back. A new receptionist answers. Says my reservation is for 4:45a now and that a driver will be there shortly. I told them I need a call if they will be late. No one showed, and no one called. I had to drive myself to the airport. I now will pay the high parking fees and I also barely missed the checked baggage window by 10 minutes. So now I will have to change flights. I am now in the process of rebooking my flight at the airport.... and what do you know .... the driver just called at 5:10a! In short, I would not rely on this company for anything important or serious. What's worse is they just started lying about everything. My reservation for 4:30a on all previous called was now "always in the system at 4:45". Don't waste your time with these guys. read more

Is your car in the shop? Is your plane leaving in two hours? Do you just not like driving, using public transportation, riding a bike or walking? Maybe you're the target customer demographic for taxicab companies. How does Beverly Hills Cab Co rate, vis-a-vis other taxis? No better, no worse. It's expensive compared to many other travel options (as you know) but it's more convenient. They come to you, take you to where you want to go, the end. There's none of that "Am I standing at the right bus stop?" stuff happening, when you take a cab. A key point in BHCCo's favor is that all their cabs are equipped with ATM/credit card readers, similar to NYC taxis, so you don't necessarily have to have cash with you when you ride. However, depending on your driver, some give you attitude when you whip out your debit card. I get the feeling that they believe you can't or won't tip them if you pay with plastic. Also, if you're familiar with a certain area and know the most efficient way to get there, you'll notice the drivers sometimes take a more circuitous route than necessary, whether or not it's intentional. Keep your eyes on the meter, doll. The last couple of times I used their service I was happy with the results. On the penultimate occasion I had made an online reservation for a next-day ride to the airport, and the driver showed up on time, as promised, and I even received a phone call reminder a few hours before. On the last occasion I cold-called from an auto shoppe, and the driver showed up in less than ten minutes, which was impressive. Despite this, BHCCo let me down in the past when I made reservations and they never showed up until I myself called to remind them, and on some other occasions the drivers were just plain rude when they didn't have to be. There are some nice drivers, though, so BHCCo is as good as any other cab company out there unless you want to hire a private car service to take you to LAX, which is a good idea sometimes. Oh -- if the driver cops an attitude when you whip out the plastic, watch how fast he becomes nice again when you tell him to add some extra to your bill as a tip. Ride safe, babe. read more

It happened to be a Beverly Hills Cab car. Its started off well enough. He loaded up our bags, we got in the cab and then everything went sour as soon as I told him my address. I mean he just looked like I asked him to take me to Siberia for free and with no bathroom or food breaks. I happen to live in Westchester. Literally a walk away from LAX. Seriously If I could I would walk home. Its that close. Its been a policy for a while that since we live there there is a $20 dollar minimum charge to drive in to this neighborhood. I dont know why, but Ive learned to accept it. So our driver turns in to an asshole in 2 seconds flat! Once we get on to Lincoln blvd. he starts bitching on his cell phone in some Russian or Armenian lingo bitching about taking us such a short distance! Hey fuck you bro! This is were I live and this is the job you're suppose to do. If I asked you to drive me 10 feet...guess what? You need to drive me 10 feet! I called on Monday to reserve a ride to the hospital for surgery on Wednesday - no special requirements for the cab, just a ride. I was told "no problem, we service your area". I called Tuesday evening to confirm the 8:00am pick up on Wednesday and was again told ""no problem and that they would be there to get me". 8:00am Wednesday morning, I get a call telling me that Beverly Hills Cab Co. does not serve my area and they could not send a cab. Since time was too short to find another cab company, I had to drive myself to the hospital - bad situation. The same thing happened with a different cab company back in February. I have tried to support taxi companies over Uber and Lyft but with this extreme lack of customer service and disregard for those customers, I will not be calling for a taxi in the future. read more

This just happened at 10:30pm, Sat night in West Hollywood: an older guy driving a Prius crossed a pedestrian red light in front of Tender Greens and ALMOST hit me. He came less than 1 foot and I saw his face clearly. I was on my phone and didn't see the car coming. Luckily other person grabbed me and saved me. Again, the light was red for the cars, all the other cars stoped, except this Prius. When he found out I was going to a beach town he started yelling that he wasn't going to make any money because everyone that day went to beach cities. He said he needed cash. I asked how much and he said $26. I only had $32 so his meter read that and I had to give him all my money. He wanted me to use my gps and tell him directions then yelled at me for talking to him saying that he was in a bad mood!! It was really a terrifying experience to be in a car with such an angry man. I needed a cab and when I looked on Yelp everyone had poor reviews but I figured Beverly Hills Cab would be okay. The operator on the phone was very nice. They helped me figure out when to leave and how long my ride would take and told me approximately how much the fare would be. A van came to pick me up. The driver called me to come out which was nice. The man was an older gentlemen and very professional looking. The van was nice and clean. No ashtray smells in my car. The driver used his phone GPS to find the place I was going which I thought was a bit strange because the car should be equipped with a good GPS. He was having trouble with his network and I had to remind him to turn off the meter. He did so. When he finally got it right, the ride was very smooth and I felt safe. When we got to my drop off I paid but was not asked if I wanted any cash back. The driver gave me his number to call him for a ride back but did not pick up when I called. The service said they could not send a car out to where I was but if I had a deal with the driver I had to call him direct. I called someplace else. My call was never returned by the driver. I would, however, use this service again. For a cab ride, it was a pleasant experience. read more

I recently scheduled a cab on a Thursday to pick me up at my home at 3:30am Friday for a 5:00am flight. They assured me that I would be picked up on time. Friday morning I called at 3:00am to confirm my pick up and they advised that I will be picked up at :330am sharp. I waited till 3:35am and still no cab. I promptly called them and they said "Sorry. We have no available cabs in your area." I told them that I SCHEDULED the day before and confirmed again 30 minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time. The person repeated "Sorry. You know...I really hate to write a negative review for these guys because I've ALWAYS used them. And by always, I mean...they've been my staple for transportation when going out on the town for at least the past 7 years. But last night our cabbie just really pissed me off! I've never had that happen...and even when friends have been running late getting in cab, the driver starts it once the doors close and we tip big on the end for the nicety. Not this guy. So we get in the cab and he starts driving...we get to a light and it turns green but he sits there. I'm like..."GO!!!" and, to his credit there was a cop with his lights on coming towards up so he was waiting...ok...but he actually had plenty of time to go and I was already annoyed by the extra charge. What's he do? Well, let me tell you... "Why the fuck are you so nervous?" he asks vehemently. "Excuse me?" I say. "Why the fuck are you nervous? You seem fucking nervous." I was happy that someone would be willing to take me to the airport at the ungodly hour and that I wouldn't have to share the cab (my work was paying for this taxi). Stay Away! My friend and I were leaving the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. just to get to our cars a couple miles away. We were trying to grab a cab from Independent Cab Co, but some people ran into the cab called...jerks. Anyway, we open the door and asked if the guy knew the location where we parked. He said yes and asked us if we had cash, we said sure and hopped in. I thought we were good to go. Before we could close the door, he pulls off without even looking at the oncoming traffic (Sorry to the Lexus that had to dodge us). The guy was such a horrible driver we were clinging to the door handles praying he wouldn't run into anything. So we get within a short walking distance of the parking lot and tell the guy we'd rather walk from there. The meter says $5.75 and We go to hand him $7, but the guy demands $10. My friend laughs and him and tells him to take the money but dude grabs her arm and demands $10. From there it turns into huge argument and the two of them yelling and cussing each other out. I end up yanking her out the car before she tries to stab the guy with her keys. End of story, stay away from these rude drivers. read more

Even in 1.5 hr traffic, i've never been charged this much for the same route. They ran the meter before he ever got into the car, and he hadn't noticed. What bothers me is their complete willingness to try and take advantage of you, as if you'd have no clue. We live here. We know how to get to the airport and how much it should cost. With so many alternatives, there's no point in even giving this company the time of day. read more

I usually use Independant, but Avis called these yahoos for me, and I was tired and didn't feel like making an effort to get my own damn cab. Big mistake. First off: the prices are OUTRAGEOUS! It had cost, maybe $10 to get from my office to the Avis office with Independant. It cost just shy of $20 to get BACK to my office two days later with Beverly Hills Co. Secondly, if you're a BEVERLY HILLS company, perhaps knowing your way around BEVERLY HILLS would be a good idea. I mean, it's not like I was asking the guy to negotiate Long Beach. All he had to do was drive from Westwood and Wilshire to Sunset and Doheney...most of that is through Beverly Hills, with a short part of the trip in Westwood. It's not rocket science. "How do you want me to get there? How do I go? Where do I turn? Where is the building? Can I stop here? Should I turn around? Is that your building? That one? That one? What street is that up ahead?" Um...buddy. I'm tired. I'm in a cab because I don't want to drive. I'm in a cab because I want YOU to get my tired ass there, WITHOUT the drama and exorbitant detours. All I wanted to do was close my eyes, but I guess that was too much to ask for a girl in the back seat. Finally I just hollered "Stop. Just stop right here. Right here at the curb. STOP." But this proved to be too difficult a task, and we had a few of those moments where you open the door, and the car starts to jerk a few inches, and so on and so forth. I get my suitcase out of the trunk. I give the guy the $20 in my wallet. (Well, if you're going to overcharge and drive like an idiot I can't help if it you get what you get. I was prepared for the cab ride with a $20. $20 was enough for the first cabbie to make the trek with me, and he got a lovely tip out of it.)
