I clearly asked the masseuse not to use elbows, and that's all she used. She couldn't understand basic instructions at all, which made the entire experience uncomfortable and frustrating. Honestly, I don't even know what that was supposed to be--it was the most unpleasant massage I've ever had. What makes this even more disappointing is that I live right down the street, so this place could've been convenient for me to return to regularly. Not anymore. I explained to the receptionist that I previously had a 60-minute massage here for $70 with another therapist, so why was I now paying $90 for a worse experience? She called the manager, who offered 15% off, which didn't even bring one of the massages down to $70. Overpriced, poor communication, and zero regard for customer requests. Never coming back.

From the moment I laid down, the therapist applied intense pressure immediately with no warm-up and no care. The massage felt rushed, unprofessional, and very repetitive. She used the same movements over and over for long periods of time and did not actually provide a proper full-body massage. My arms were barely touched, my head was hardly massaged, and she mostly just squeezed my legs without any real technique. Throughout my 90-minute session, she repeatedly stopped to answer phone calls and attend to people walking in, which took time away from the service I paid for. I paid $90 for 90 minutes plus an additional $3 charge, and I absolutely did not receive the value or time promised. I don't know her name, but she had short red hair and was also working the front desk. Overall, she did not do a good job at all. I left feeling tense, disappointed, and unsatisfied. I would not return and would not recommend this place.

Tomoko Spa is located on a very busy street, but you forget all that as soon as you step inside. They do a really great job of creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The experience starts with a 15 min foot soak/massage, and that already was divine. The masseuse puts the perfect amount of pressure, and that combined with the warm water, almost put me to sleep, haha. For the body massage part, the masseuse asks you what parts you want focused on and how much pressure you would like. They are also really good at checking in at various parts of the massage to make sure you are completely satisfied. I really appreciated how thorough they are with the massage and also how proactive they are in making sure you are enjoying the experience.
