BevMo! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Fairfield, California

I have used this BevMo for about six years. The last year or so it has been on a steady decline. The prices having been getting higher, the store is always dirty and the staff is unfriendly and does not like to help. You actually feel like you're bothering them asking for assistance. Latest issue, I have been directed to Brian on three occasions to order a keg for a special event I have running tomorrow. I was told by Brian that the keg would be in Tuesday or Wednesday...I hadn't heard anything come Thursday and I called back. I am told the order isn't in the system and could not be by this weekend. I ask for their Manager, Brian said he had to look up who it was. Apparently it is Ron Young, I left a message for him to call me. This is not how business is done. I won't be returning to this BevMo and I suggest everyone make the trip to some other city and store. read more

Awesome store. When one moves from California to a state with state regulated liquor stores, you really appreciate having the freedom to purchase without being screwed over by huge taxes, limited locations, and poor selection. Every time we are in California or have folks visiting from there, we always stock up. Polite and friendly staff (James -- you rock!!). BevMo, BevMo.. You always find what you need, and often times you also find what you don't need. They sometimes have seasonal items like Primo beer, which is a Hawaiian beer. They also carry a lot of the new, popular items like Viniq. Usually they have sales on wine, like buy one bottle, get one for 5 cents. Not sure how legit the savings are though because of markup. Maybe it's because I came in right after it opened in the morning that I got excellent service--I swear I'm not an alcoholic, but as soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I could be helped with anything. I don't usually get service that fast at a place like this, but the people here appear to be very helpful and ready answer any questions I had. I came in to buy Johnny Walker Gold Label for my dad, as a present, and within seconds of entering, I got help and found what I needed and made it out of the door within 5 minutes. Service here is fantastic. These employees really know their stuff. Had to pick up a nice bottle of whiskey for a party and these guys suggested an affordable and kick ass bourbon that I now still drink today. Prices are great almost rock bottom barring Wal-mart. As usual a great selection that cannot be beat. They have Carlsburg Elephant that is super rare and hard to find. It's one of the best beers ever made in my humble opinion. The staff are all super friendly and sociable plus they speak English to boot. A premium these days in the liquor business. The store is always clean and organized its not hard to find exactly what you want in a short amount of time. My only grievance being they were closed for a couple of clutch days after someone broke in and stole a lot of product in the night. Other than that, this place is pretty spotless. This place is my one stop shop when I'm heading to a dinner party or hosting one myself. Their wine selection can't be beat and includes a notable selection of kosher wines (handy when I'm heading to my best friend's for her Passover sedar). Another great thing about this place is that you can custom order things they don't have. A great option if you've heard of a beer, wine or spirit from an out of state friend that's not available here. They have a decent selection of snacks and foods that pair well with their selections too. Mostly nuts, uniquely flavored chocolates, cheeses and the like. Expect to pay quite a bit extra for these items of course. Though, it's worth splurging on for a fancy dinner party with people you like. The staff here has been helpful each time I've come in. Last year I really started exploring the world of beer (having already ventured through the lands of Liquorville and Wino Alley). It took me a while to figure out the types of beers I liked and disliked and the staff was able to give me suggestions of popular beers or beers similar to my favorites. I've gotten a few tasteless duds but discovered several beers I may not have tried otherwise. For people interested in expanding their wine palette they offer wine tastings here on certain days and times too. One great find that will have me coming back here is the Slim Bob & Skinny Chick margarita mix that I can't find anywhere else. It's priced at around $8 for a 32 oz bottle and is low enough in calories that I can indulge in a few margaritas without feeling like crap about it later. Not only that, it tastes WAY better than others I've tried. Another favorite is their frequent 5 cent wine sales. It's a great way to stock up on your favorites, or try a new one when they're doing a 5 cent mix and match sale. Also worth noting that they have a great soda selection too! Great amount of variety there as well. Don't go to Safeway, Raley's or Trader Joe's for your wine and beer fix. This is the place you ought to go. This is my absolutely favorite "liquor store" to shop at!! I have nothing but good experiences each and every time I've shopped here. The workers are extremely knowledgeable when it comes down to selling their liquor. For example, for my boyfriend's birthday, I stopped by to pick up a bottle of wine for us to drink and asked for a recommendation on which bottle of wine would be great to cook with. The dinner I prepared that evening was exquisite (yeah, I'm tooting my own horn, but it was freakin' DELICIOUS)! Staff is outstanding! My most frequented BevMo, since I regularly drive this section of 80 and this store is less hassle than the Vacaville one. There's really only one beer I go for here, and that's Wild Blue blueberry lager, which you can't get in the Bay Area, although I might pick up some other stuff too. read more

I have been purchasing wine here for special events for years. In the past I would be able to return what was left. I just tried to do that again and the "manager" very rudely told me "we don't do that anymore". He was condescending. I reiterated how it had been in the past and he threw my receipt on the counter and again said "we don't do that anymore". No apology... no explanation of when and why the policy had changed... no offer of any accommodation? I have spent thousands of dollars over the last five years because the service had been so excellent. They have lost my business forever. I generally like coming here. However; this past weekend I came to get a case of Heineken and couldn't find it! Turns out its hiding waaaaaaaay waaaaaaaay in the very back right hand corner of the store. None in the cooler section either..ok so I get my beer and head to check out. The kid that rang me up ended up grabbing a bottle of Jack the chick behind me put on the counter and rang it up. I told him it wasn't mine and he looked at me all confused. So I told him again, we're not together and that's not my bottle..so, he took it off and had me swipe my card. Turns out he took the beer off and charged me for the jack. It was only a few bucks difference, but I still had to go to another check stand to have the manager reverse ana re ring the correct purchase. I've been a customer at this location for 4 years. I've started stopping by this location periodically over the last month to get empty boxes because I'm moving. I always ask if I can take a few boxes and the employees are usually very nice and say say its ok. A few weeks ago I went in and a female employee kind of scuffed at me as said "well.. you can take a couple". She acted like it was a burden on her for me to grab a couple of empty boxes. I thought ok, she must be having a bad day, let it go. I went back in there today and asked and the same girl told me "no, we need those for customers". That is the first I have ever been told that I couldn't take empty boxes--from anywhere... EVER. I was always under the impression that they were packed down and recycled. I mean seriously... how often does this place get asked for empty boxes. They just lost me as a customer now. read more

I went to Fairfield, CA Bevmo for the annual Employee Spaghetti cook off. I was very impressed of the moral and spirit of these employees. They had complimentary cheese, crackers, cakes and the owner of Blue Frog Brewery was also there with complimentary wine and beer. The whole event was so well organized. The presentation of the store was a pristine site. These are truly hard working, happy employees, and it showed. Everyone treated me as though I was a regular customer even though this was my 1st time there. Great job Fairfield, CA Bevmo! You just won yourself a new customer! read more
